A useful book promoting professionalism in higher education teaching, positioning it as learning for both the student and teacher and part of scholarship. The discussion of different genres of teaching allows reflection on past and future work and promotes concern for multiple dimensions of student learning. The writing was a bit stogy in parts and the generalized coverage made some things abstract but overall a thought provoking read and I will certainly be applying many of the ideas.
