Loved this book so much. Beautifully explored the mind of a nonbeliever and the trials that they face when maturing in the faith. Micah was such a pain to read, but he was so honest, and you couldn’t fault him all too much. Esther was also a joy to read, she stood her ground and never once tried to act holier than thou. The community and little family that is formed throughout the book was just so strong and pleasant to read.

I also loved that the author didn’t shy away from church hurt and showcased it in very specific ways that weren’t involving sexual violence or assault which can be very triggering. I loved that it was simple and to the point that any wrong doing by the church can cause church hurt even if it doesn’t scar someone physically or leave a mark on them, harm is still done. And rebuilding needs to take place.

The forgiveness that takes place and the acknowledgment of God’s hand in the church as a crucial aspect of the church was amazingly discussed in this book too. The spirit of God must be in a church, and Micah was so happy to point out when it wasn’t, which was so funny and eye opening to read.

I loved how active this story was, and how you didn’t simply keep reading it because you wanted to know more about the relationship between Esther and Micah…I personally formed a deep connection for Micah in his faith journey and wanted to see him come to Christ. When he finally does, the book just gets so much more sweeter. I loved that the author doesn’t force Esther and Micah together, but I most definitely would love to see how they build together.

I loved Re’Autumn too and seeing her grow. I lastly loved God’s voice in this piece and all the comforting truths he provides which serve as great reminders to the readers.

Overall I loved this story so much and it was such a faith filled story that most definitely left you hopeful for what God can do in the lives of those who are yet to be saved. No one is too far gone, and God wants all his children back home, no matter how long it’s been.

Tropes: Come to faith, found family, friends to lovers, slow burn.
TW: Death, Trauma

Need the paperback!

Maam...This book, this book, this book. Quote me or not but... This was the best read ever! Bruh, Micah was hilarious, he had me laughing nonstop. And reading him and Esther banter back and forth was the highlight of everything! I love Esther! You can't mistake her for a plain Jane. She handles her God given gift effortlessly, and if I were in need for back up in the spirit, she would be my best bet.

GREAT READ!!!!

I absolutely loved this book! It was such a great read. I really appreciated how authentically fight with faith was portrayed and how real Micah’s journey with God felt. Sometimes people assume that just being around believers automatically leads to salvation, but Micah’s struggles and emotions were raw and deeply felt throughout the book.

Esther’s personality was such a breath of fresh air, I loved that she wasn’t a cliché Christian character. She was fun, vibrant, and real. The banter between her and Micah was so enjoyable, and I also really liked Rea his sister was a great addition to the story.

The only thing I wish (unless there’s a book two!) is that we could’ve found out what Esther’s dream about Micah was. We got to see Micah’s dream, but Esther’s remained a mystery. And as much as I want to say I’m frustrated about the ending, I can’t, because it felt so real. I loved the way it left things open-ended, it was frustrating in the best way.

That said, I really hope there’s a part two because I need to see where their story goes next!

This book was very good and very full! One thing I loved about this book was once he accepted Jesus Christ again it was only like half way through. So you got to see him grow in Christ again because as we know the work isn’t over once you accept instead that’s when the real work begins.

Easy to read. Easy to follow. As always read with decrement and look up biblical references for accuracy. Great stories doesn’t always mean factual. So be sure to verify on your own.

Like, is there a part two?

Beautiful story

Miss Haley did an amazing job with her rendition of the true love story, demonstrating the grace and mercy that God has for his people, as well as illustrating how to follow God's will despite our doubts.

beautiful

It really captures the relational aspect of God instead of the God that just gives out orders. Taught me a lot too. Thank you 😍🥰

3.5 rating for me. Not giving it 5 stars because I feel like the ending was somehow rushed? And I noticed some plot holes. But great story nonetheless.
