Rate this book
Monsters, Mysteries, and Mayhem. Welcome to Dungeon World!

It's been a year since I awoke in Dungeon World, a planet-wide RPG-themed amusement park gone haywire. With two beautiful women at my side and a suite of OP skills, I've already made a name for myself, and my party is growing as another lovely new recruit joins our ranks. Fame, fortune, and a life of luxury await!

But the more I level, the deeper I dig, the more mysteries I uncover.

Glitches are running rampant, changing already dangerous bosses into lethal threats. The park's back halls beckon with the promise of untold treasure – but chasing it pulls us deeper into the swirling conspiracies around the park's downfall. Will I be able to solve what's happening to Dungeon World in time to save it?

Man, there was quite the bell curve on the annoying-ness of Becca through the course of this book. She was alright at the beginning and the end, but GODDAMN that middle. Like do you ever stop whining about chests and items and xp? At one point, when she was at her worst, MC was all like 'yeah she's fucking annoying, but that's what i love about her, and i wouldn't change it for the world.' Oh please. I know we, the readers, are experiencing the story from MC's POV, but i'll bet anything there is some unacknowledged unconscious thoughts where MC is starting to seriously question his haste in jumping into a relationship with that girl. Like after 2 days they were living together, even Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee would be like 'woah, maybe you should slow it down'. But he's trying to consciously convince himself that it's all fine.

Also, it was mentioned twice in the first book that MC's inspect ability, which allows him to see adventurers next unlocks, would be totally lucrative, an easy way to make some bank, then nothing more about it ever. Like are you planning on doing that at all soon? Or is risking your life for tokens the only way for you? Well, whatever, on to the next book, maybe they address it then.

The extra greedy girl from book one still pisses me off every time she opens her mouth. She really makes this book annoying.

Reading this book, I'm reminded of a book or movie where

I will probably pick up the sequel. The protagonist is just getting loaded up with the broken girls. I guess he is the white knight.

*Audiobook Review*
I read book one and it was interesting. However, book two seems to be lacking and in some sense became difficult to enjoy. Dungeon that is run by an evil version of the Disney corporation. The way, the mystery gets slowly peeled back is done well. My only problem is for the whole series are the characters. Main and side characters are either very annoying or just ...flat. The MC can be described as bland slice of white toasted bread. I can't seem to like him. The side characters are just annoying. The biggest irritant is the MC's first girlfriend; who is the biggest gold digger Karen in the series. I got the feeling the Author, for some reason hated the MC's first love interest and made the biggest money hungry b*tch. The reason why she want all the money? So she can buy a big mansion and show it off the people. No real back story why, like she was poor before and wants it all. No, she just want to be super rich. I mean, an evil A.I. is going to destroy the world...BUT let's stop at every side mission to pick up loot and the hard cash. When she doesn't find it, she "want's to see the manager". These missions they are doing, is to figure out why they world is glitching and save their world. But, like the title said " Delving for loot...". It becomes a little disgusting when they go all karen and the MC goes "Oh, that just her being her. Oh how much I love my feisty gold digger".
Also if you decide to get the audio book version, get ready to listen to "glitched" info and conversations. It's part of the story; but it sounds like nails on a chalk board. I skipped minuets dialogue, because it was seriously annoying. So it "meh"; not as good as the first one. The characters become super meh.

I continued reading on after the first book to chase after the unfolding story and to discover more of the world which intrigued me.
Unfortunately, after pushing through until the very end, I do not think I will continue reading the next books in this series.

It became even more apparent in this sequel that the final copy was given the most cursory of glances when it came to proofreading for syntax: spelling, grammar and sentence structure. You would be hard pressed to find a single chapter without sloppy mistakes in the published copy, which highlight the lack of care that seems to have been given in creating an engaging and steady flow for the story.

The explicit scenes also seemed to get worse in this sequel when it comes to the language employed and the chosen forms of ‘stimulation’ which (for an average person) would be much more painful or, at the very least, nowhere near as powerfully erotic.

An excellent story!!!!

First the really good parts, this is an awesome series!!! Some of the best world building you'll ever read!!!!! Fantastic adult fantasy activities, interesting game mechanics and fantasy magic!!!! Again though the editing is real rough in spots and it honestly doesn't need to be a little proof reading would catch it, that being said it doesn't stop this from being an awesome series.

An amazing sequel

I absolutely love what the author is doing with this series. They have written it in such a way that they can pull anything future tech out and it works! Not because humans are this advanced race, but because we went and stole this shiny from someone else, and hey let’s play with it like monkeys in a nuclear power plant, because SHINY!

I will freely admit, I am not a fan of Thorne's work.

So why did I read this series? I love the "Westworld" vibe and wanted to know about the mysteries. The low expectations I had were not disappointed. The action is convenient, the relationships are quickly manufactured, and the intimate scenes are repetitious.

Pretty good overall, but doesn't catch enough air to clear that 5th star. No glaring problems, and the sex scenes are distinct in the narrative so you can easily skim past them if (like it is for me) more than one or two in a book is too much.

I'm not sure how many books are planned, but by my reckoning this could be wrapped up in one more. We'll see what happens with book 3.

An intriguing story

I enjoyed this continuation of the story and am interested to see where it goes. I gave four stars due to the grammatical errors, misspellings, and inconsistency of some of the names.

good but not as exciting as the first

Worth the time reading but I found myself not as interested as I was for the first one. Too much pandering MC and not enough of the character building.

Save the World Dungeon

If Danny and his Harem can't save the dungeon from the glitches and crazy monsters then the dungeon world is doomed.

Very fun read & there is finally a possible path for how to proceed toward making the World Dungeon safe again.

Great

Good continuation of the series. Characters seem to act how they are written and the world is really well developed with enough 'what the hell' to keep it going.

A worthy sequel

If you liked the first one there’s really nothing to think about, just enjoy where the ride brings Daniel and his party of sexy adventurers
