Michael Hegessay, proud father, is the first Floater. Without explanation a mysterious force takes him to the sky, leaving him hovering above his house. Before long, the skies are full of people, each with their own story to tell!
An interesting read. The chapters are super short, each giving a different character perspective on the situation. There are a lot of characters, but each does have an interesting back story.
This is not just another fantasy novel though. There are some serious issues interspersing the narrative. Child abuse, human trafficking, murder etc. It wasn’t what I expected, but I often find that’s a positive. I enjoyed the relationships between the characters, and how it all explained itself at the end. If you are easily offended by bad language and sexual references, this isn’t the book for you. However, if you enjoy Stephen King then this is right up your street. A solid debut novel with some deep messages that’ll keep you thinking long after you finish it.
