Hate Me is book one of Alex and Delaney's duet and book one in the Badger Creek Duet Series. A two-part, angst-filled, slow-burn, enemies to lovers new adult romance. Hate Me must be read before Hate Me Not in order to enjoy the full story.

The last place Delaney Hayes thought she would find herself is Badger Creek. It’s the place she left with dreams of college scholarships and a future as a professional skier. But less than a year later, she’s back with her tail between her legs, embarrassed and bitter, working as a ski instructor.

And then there’s Alex Cunningham. A guy most girls would dream of working with. Arrogant and gorgeous with a sinful smile to match. Determined to make Delaney’s life miserable, he seems to turn up everywhere she is and her patience for him is wearing thin.

However, fate has other plans and when tragedy strikes, they’re forced together in a way they never expected.

The chemistry. The tension. The banter. Alex and Delaney were melting the snow in Badger Creek.

I absolutely loved this story. I was hooked from the moment I started reading. These two completely sucked me in. And that ending, I am DYING for book two because I need to know what happens next!

From the moment Alex and Delaney saw each other there was a connection. However, they both got a little surprise. There is some hilarious banter between these two and they really knew how to push eachothers buttons. But along with the dislike and button pushing, there are some sweet moments between the two of them that I absolutely adored. Especially when it came to Alex. He has the arrogant side to him, but also as an extremely caring and protective side.

I feel like there are some things Alex is hiding or details that haven’t completely come out and the same goes with Delaney, so I am curious to see how things continue to play out for them in that aspect.

I’ve completely fallen in love with Badger Creek and the characters that have been introduced.

If you’re looking for an enemies to lovers, workplace romance this is one to check out.

Poor Delaney, she had so many dreams & left Badger Creek to achieve them, but it's only a year later when she has to come home with those dreams shattered. Now she's back home working as a ski instructor, and her parents are terrible to her. She has trust issues with men, so she's not even contemplating a relationship, and hooks up when she wants to. Alex works at the same place as Delaney, and there's a past between them so when they come face to face at her job, they're instantly enemies but you already know that this animosity they feel towards each other will make for some hot sexy times when those sparks ignite. They can't stay away from each other, so as those sparks fly, there's something else brewing. I loved the fact that Delaney could go toe to toe with him, and their banter was highly entertaining to me. It all leads to a mother of a cliffhanger, and it's going to be torture waiting on the conclusion to their story so the impatient wait begins! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was such a fun, quick read! I haven't read many books where skiing was a big plot point, but I really enjoyed this one. There was soooo much tension between Alex and Delaney. They have a very hot-cold relationship, but you can tell that they really care about each other even when they're fighting. I'm excited to see what happens in the next book because that cliff-hanger was brutal!!

Also, side note: the hot tub scene was so 🔥🔥😩

Thank you Greys Promo and Claire Raye for the arc <3

ARC Review

Alex and Delaney connected from the moment they met. However, both experienced a small surprise. A hilarious banter ensued between the two and they really knew how to annoy each other. But besides the antics and button-pushing, there are also some cute moments between the two that I really loved. Especially with Alex. He has an arrogant side, but he is also very caring and protective. He feels like Alex has things to hide and not enough details, but that goes for Delaney too, so it will be interesting to see how she develops in that regard. I'm looking forward to it.

I honestly feel bad for Delaney cause all she wanted was to move out her town but life dragged her right back to the one place she wanted to leave, not to mention her trust issues because of... you guessed it MEN.

Wasn't that an explosive start to a new duet and series? It seems so long ago that the Hawthorn series ended and we got introduced to the mysterious Delaney. Hate Me was a quick, easy read that introduced us to the setting of this new series as well as most of the characters that will follow Alex and Delaney.

Alex is leaving Colorando after college, trying to leave behind his mistakes. He is starting a new job at the Badger Creek resort and hopefully he will also try to figure out his life. Before his responsibilities start though, he wants to let loose and have some fun for one night.

Enter Delaney, a young woman plagued by past decisions and a life gone wrong. She's back at Badger Creek, trying to overcome the failed expectations and carve out a living as she figures her life out after the disaster that was Vermont. When she meets Alex, she's up for a night of no strings fun.

Both believe the other is a tourist, so it's safe to let go and enjoy each other without worrying about tomorrow. But on Alex's first day as a park crew at the resort, that one night stand comes back to bite them in the behind.

Cue the love-hate attitude, the biting back and forth and the sizzling chemistry. It was so good to watch these two banter and dance around their feelings. I loved watching Alex open up and show a gentler side to the arrogant one we put forth in the beginning. Delaney gave as good as she got and it was a recipe for such intense chemistry that when it exploded it was a sight to behold.

This book was a great start to this new series, but I felt that we didn't really get to know either of the characters that well. What we got was mostly surface deep and knowing this author duo, we'll probably get more in the second part of Alex and Delaney's story. I was expecting the cliffy but it still took me by surprise, leaving me feeling we haven't had much time with the characters. I can't wait to see what happens after that nail-biting cliffhanger and I'm looking forward to the other stories. The setting of the story and the fact that skiing was such a huge part of the story was amazing and I can't wait to spend more time at Badger Creek.

MF/enemies to lovers/one night stand turned coworkers/slow burn after first encounter/cliffhanger

Delaney is back home in Lake Tahoe after dropping the ball in Vermont and losing her scholarship. She feels like a total failure and her parents aren’t making it any better. Luckily she was able to get her job back at the ski resort and is living with her friend Zoey.
Alex is not ready to go back home to Boston after leaving college in Colorado. His best friend Max is able to help him get a job at the ski resort near his condo and lets him live with him as well.
Alex and Delaney are both just looking to hook up for the evening. Alex knows if he hooks with a tourist, he won’t ever have to worry about seeing them again. Same goes for Delaney. They have a wild night and go their separate ways, but the following day when Delaney comes to work to start training the new hires for the park crew… she finds a very familiar face, one she hasn’t been able to get out of her head. They are both kind of peeved that they obviously lied to each other, but realize they do still need to be professional at work. The more time they spend together, the closer they get and think they might actually be able to be friends. Until stronger feelings get involved…

This is my first book from this author and it was a great start to this duet! I loved the banter between Alex and Delaney. I went from wanting to punch Alex, to swooning. Alex is your typical arrogant smart ass, but also has this super sweet side he starts to let Delaney see. They’re both all about pushing each others buttons, and there’s some serious underlying sexual tension. Neither can forget that first night they met. Both MCs have something from there recent past they aren’t to proud of, but we haven’t really figured out what that may be yet…or how it may effect them. THAT ENDING THOUGH! I need to know what happens! Looking forward to book two and then following up with the rest of the Badger Creek crews stories also!

What a fantastic start to this brand new series! I absolutely loved Alex and Delaney, they were so great right from page one! I have been so excited for Badger Creek to come out and it didn’t disappoint.

Delaney is wonderful, she is confident, funny, determined and hardworking. She has had a tough past year, working to overcome her struggles while still hurting and healing.
Alex is such a complex character with lots of layers. I loved getting to know him and all his cockiness throughout the book, he is so much more than meets the eye. Alex still has some mystery attached to him, and I am dying to find out more in book two. I will say he causes lots of emotions in you while reading-from eye rolls to pulling at the hearts stings - you don’t want to miss out on!

I enjoy the pull these two have for one another. It made for some fantastic banter, tension and oh boy their chemistry is crazy, right from their initial meeting! The playfulness (and snark) between Alex and Delaney and a large dose of an obvious connection makes for a fun mix of distaste and tenderness. I loved seeing their relationship continuously change, evolve and develop all while wondering where they stand with one another?

They had me chuckling and swooning. I couldn’t put this book down, the will they won’t they is strong. I just had to find out what these two would get themselves into next!

I love how realistic these authors are with their characters. It makes for a relatable and enjoyable read-easily allowing you to get sucked into the story!

The whole group of character’s introduced here were great, I love the bonds of friendship represented. I look forward to seeing what this Badger Creek series will bring.

Like all their duets, Claire Raye knows just how to do a cliffhanger! That last chapter had me on the edge of my seat, I can’t wait to see what Hate Me Not holds for these two.

Hate Me by Claire Raye

——————————————————

“I’m not going to chase him. I’m not going to beg him to like me.”

——————————————————

⭐️: 4/5
🌶: 3.5/5

——————————————————

Delaney has returned to Badger Creek after failing to make a go of it at college in Vermont. She’s can’t believe she messed up her one chance to get out of Badger Creek and make something of herself. Now, she’s stuck giving lessons and dealing with handsy tourists in the hopes they tip well enough for her to be able to afford community college.

Alex has decided instead of returning to Boston after graduating college, he’ll follow Max to Badger Creek for a little while. Similar to Delaney, he’s running from what happened in college. But where Delaney views her returning to work at the ski resort as her being washed up, Alex decides that relaxing and enjoying a job where he gets to ski all day is his blessed escape.

Right off the bat, Delaney and Alex had a fierce connection based on one mutual goal: having a night of fun and then moving on. Neither of them expected to find out that they would actually be coworkers for the foreseeable future. If their banter didn’t make it obvious, their relationship definitely went from one night stand to enemies pretty quickly. But that didn’t mean, their passion and attraction towards each other went away. No, each fight and insult became a silent game of tug-of-war to see who would break first and given in to their desire. I liked Delaney a lot - she definitely held her own against Alex and his antics. Alex was a straight up jerk. Part of the reason I didn’t connect with him as much is because we don’t know what he’s running from. I know book 2 will redeem him, and I’m looking forward to it. Because the handful moments we got of Delaney and Alex being real and there for each other were amazing. And after that cliffhanger?? I need book 2 ASAP.

I'm not a big fan of enemies to lovers in books, but this book...OMG! I enjoyed it a lot, the scenes and everything related to skiing seemed different to me since it is not a subject that many books have.
The way in which Alex and Delaney meet and think that they will never see each other again hooked me, they both have something that, in my opinion, makes them complement each other.
The end of the book left me tense, with the expectation about the next one, if I had had the opportunity I would have started reading the next one because the story was interesting.
Throughout the book you go from hating a character to laughing like a fool for the things they does, they give you glimpses of the past of the characters but in turn the author leaves you curious to know more.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hate Me is a funny, srangers to lovers/enemies romance that is a joy to read. Claire Raye does a wonderful job of getting you hooked right from the start and with the banter and the hate-to-love relationship between Alex and Delaney you can't help but keep reading. They are both looking for a one-night fling at the ski resort they both work at the only thing is that they both want one with someone that is not an employee, just a tourist. Well off to the bar at the resort and this is where things get interesting. Delaney is a strong woman who is trying to escape her past and what happened in Vermont. Working at the ski resort as an instructor is just what she needs and what she enjoys. She knows what she wants both in and out of the bedroom and she takes control right from the start. Alex is trying to get away from his dad and what happened in Colorado. He takes a job at the resort as one of the crew. Alex takes her lead and well things go from hi to holy hotness right from the start. Finding out that they are both employees of the resort has a whole new definition of a working relationship. The sexual tension was off the charts and everyone around them could feel the heat coming off both of them.

If you are looking for a wonderful, funny, easy-to-read and addictive story then pick up Hate me. However, this is a duet so be ready for a cliffhanger of cliffhangers. It will leave you holding your breath and your heart beating out of your chest.

This was the first book of the Badger Creek duet and my first book by Claire Raye and I loved it. I so enjoyed this first book of the Badger Creek world!!! It pulled me right in and kept me hooked all the way through. Right from their memorable first meeting, I couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for these two in this first book!!

I loved the way Alex and Delaney got under each other's skin and would go head to head a lot. The chemistry and banter between these two was amazing!! Delaney is hardworking, confident and feisty. She left town to follow her dreams of a college scholarship and to become a professional skier. When she returned less than a year later, she started working as a ski instructor, not the life she expected to have. Alex is mysterious, arrogant, caring and protective. He also, seems to appear everywhere Delaney is. These two certainly know how to push each other’s buttons.

This is a story which pulls at the heartstrings and is a slow burn, enemies to lovers romance. It also has angst, tragedy, tension, witty banter, humor, secrets, challenges and emotions, which creates an addictive page turner.

I really enjoyed getting into the Badger Creek world and seeing what the other characters brought to the story! I am looking forward to reading the second part of this amazing duet and I highly recommend you start reading this amazing series.

I was hooked from the first page! What happens when a one night stand turns into way more than you ever thought it could? Alex and Delaney’s chemistry is off the charts, their banter had me laughing out loud as well. They both have pasts they are trying to avoid and move on from, families too. Who would have thought they actually have a lot more in common then they think. They forever kept me guessing if they would admit feelings for one another or continue to play this game with one another. I could not read this book fast enough, and that cliff hanger?! Anxiously counting down the days for book two!

Having read the Claire Raye duo's work a couple of times before i've been wanting to pick up more of their books! As soon as i stumbled across the announcement for this duet while on social media i knew i had to pick them up next! I started reading this installment as soon as i could and got right into the Badger Creek world. I so enjoyed this first book!

This first installment in Alex and Delaney's journey pulled me in quickly! Right from their memorable first meeting, i couldn't wait to see how everything would play out for these two in this book!

I really liked the way Alex and Delaney got under each other's skin and would go head to head. The chemistry and banter between these two was great! I wasn't sure how they'd tackle things. I loved that both characters had me feeling many things from start to finish!

I really enjoyed getting into the Badger Creek world and what the other characters brought to the story!

With Hate Me, The Claire Raye Duo have created such a good read that had me feeling so much and i didn't want to turn away from it! I can't wait to get more of these characters with the second installment, Hate Me Not! 💗

Badger Creek Series opens up with part one of Delaney and Alex’s story, Hate Me. Full disclosure: the story ends on a cliffhanger and will conclude in part two- Hate Me Not.

Alex and Delaney’s push and pull dynamics is hot, angsty, and delectable. I love their lovers-to-enemies to frenemies dynamics, they keep you on your toes and their banter adds to the tension!

While they have lots of chemistry on the ski slopes and off there’s lingering secrets surrounding Alex, it’s a matter of time when the secrets start to unravel. Delaney may not have secrets that chase her but she is quite jaded from a failed year away at college.

I’m shamelessly hoping they find healing in one another, as their stories parallel each other, and their personalities mesh so well. Alex is a bit broody and Delaney is a bit sunshine! 🌤

Claire Raye introduces an array of characters and hopefully we get their books soon! They honestly tease readers with the endless possibilities of what’s to come!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the first book in the Badger Creek Duet. These books must be read in order as this book leaves you on a huge cliffhanger.
After college graduation Alex followed his best friend home to his home town to work at a ski resort. He's not ready to face his dad and what happened in college. And definitely not ready to sit behind a desk. He just never expects the girl training him for his new job to be the girl from last night.
Delaney is back in her home town and back at her old job. Definitely not her choice but due to the consequences of flunking out of college and losing her scholarship. To make matters worse. She gets to train her lying one night stand and work with him everyday.
These two had an insta connection and I loved the banter between them. Now we have to sit back and patiently wait for the conclusion to thier story.

Everything about this book is perfection. The push and pull between Alex and Delaney was everything I needed, and the chemistry between these two…absolutely next level. I’ve been anxiously awaiting this book since it was announced, and it did not disappoint.

I have a serious girl crush on Delaney. She’s feisty and isn’t afraid to put Alex in his place. She works hard, and she knows what she deserves, and she won’t settle for less. Alex has his moments when he is so flipping cocky, but he also has moments where he is so sweet and caring. But Alex also has secrets, and I can’t WAIT to find out what they are!

The ending, gah the ending seriously got me. Here’s the thing…I KNEW this book was going to end with a cliffy, but I wasn’t prepared. I’m quite simply dying for the next book in Alex and Delaney’s duet!!

Based on the blurb of this book I knew there would be some life threatening events, but man oh man I did not see the ending of this book coming. I could feel the buildup and I loved that because I wasn't quite sure where the cliffhanger would leave off.

Alex and Delaney hooked up soon after Alex arrives to the ski lodge and after the lies they told each other from that night come out, they don't really get along. I found Alex to be kinda annoying but you could tell he was a good guy underneath and I cannot wait to see the rest of his story.

Delaney is a sweetheart who doesn't take anything from anyone. Alex drives her insane and it was a lot of fun watching her unravel as Alex went through his many phases. They have a good enemies to lovers relationship but I really cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!

Hate me : Alex & Delaney 1 (Badger creek duet 1)

This is the first book in this duet by this author. This is the first book I've read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. This story sucks you into the pages and keeps you reading long into the night. This book leaves you with an amazing cliffhanger ending. This is the story of Alex and Delaney. These two characters have an instant connection and fab chemistry between them from the start. I can't wait to read the next book in this duet.

I was given an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review

This was an easy read and although it was rather predicatable I still enjoyed this. The interactions between Alex and Delaney were very varied, some had me laughing, others cooooing "awww how sweet" and then again some steamy moments. Right from the start, theirs was never going to be a smooth journey, filled with mis-understanding or mis-interpretation and there was more than one moment when i felt like shaking some sense into them. Both Delaney and Alex are very strong characters and both clearly have some skeletons in the closet. We get some insight as to what these are, more so with Delaney than Alex, but not full disclosure. This book was left on a major cliffhanger and Im looking forwarding to reading the next part of their story.

Woah.

I kind of expected that ending but I didn't expect how torn up I feel about it. It has me shaken, my head spinning with the possibilities of what might happen in book two.

Alex and Delaney's story was full of snark, witty banter and major hostility. But in between all the hateful jabs were moments of sweetness, blooming feelings and fun.

While they can't seem to get on the same page—may not even be in the same book—they certainly have a lot to work through.

They both have their own demons they need to fight (and I have a feeling that they are going to give us emotional whiplash) I can only hope that D and Alex can figure out a way to come together. Because together, they are hot enough to melt the blizzard that just rolled in.

As soon as I read the “Hate me: Alex and Delaney” blurb, I knew I would really enjoy this read. Both characters have a personality that captivates you from the first moment. Alex may seem like an arrogant guy but deep down he cares about his own and is overly protective. Delaney is a young woman who has been through many difficulties and yet has an impressive resilience. Both work together and can’t stand each other. But their chemistry is very noticeable, so they can't stay away either. The tension and the banter are always present. I was hooked on both and now I am eager to know more about the development and outcome of their story.

Alex and Delaney are working at the same ski resort. Turns out they hooked up the night before they started working together. Both Alex and Delaney have major walls up and emotional baggage. I really enjoyed this layered emotional read. The back and forth banter between these two shows there is something there…but what? Can these two knock down the walls they have, to have a chance at a real relationship? They have an undeniable connection and page burning chemistry. The cliffhanger has me wanting more as soon as possible! What will happen next? What is in store for these two? I am patiently waiting for the next book in this series.

one night stand turn enemies to lovers/co-workers? yes please. this was so good. the tension, the banter, the chemistry. everything about these characters had me hooked from the beginning.

alex and delaney meet in a bar and have a one night stand thinking each other is a tourist and leaving but next thing you know, alex is showing up to work where delaney is training him and it turns into enemies to lovers as they realize one another lied. the banter and bickering between these two was everything. i loved the build up as it turned into a slow burn after the first encounter. and that cliffy? oh wow, i'm so excited for the next book to see where these two characters go.

BRB while I have to emotionally recover from that ending. Both these characters are dealing with such similar struggles that it makes their enemies to lovers much more intense. Sprinkle in some humorous banter and this story is a winner. It set in a small skiing town and both the main characters are trying to escape their other realities facing them. The dynamic between them is very intense but also based a lot on miscommunication and not being true to themselves BUT we do see a glimpse of the “real” side of them near the end and I hope we see more of that in the next book. There is a cliff hanger to be prepared to be heart broken.

So this is my first book by this author and I am pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. For some reason I got into but then struggled for a bit but then it picked back up and I sailed through it. Alex and Delaney's chemistry from the top was absolutely off the charts. Their banter was amazing and I loved it, their back and forth when playing with each other has been some of the best I've read. The mystery surrounding them tho i really need to know.....so I am on pins and needles to get my hands on book 2!! Also with the way this book ended I need my hands on book 2!!! I would definitely recommend this book. ~ By Tina

I loved this book. A typical enemies to lovers romance but with a twist at the end leaving me desperate too get my hands on book two.

The story follows Alex a typical arrogant 23 year old good looking lad with a point to prove and Delaney a 20 year old who let the pressure of life get the better of her. Both landing up at the ski resort a one night stand becomes a enemies romance. I spent the book wanting to bang heads together to show them that they needed to change their attitudes. Worth a read that's for sure.
