Though she still practices law, she decided to put her years of writing experience into fiction and has created the Shadow Dynasty world. What do you do when your whole existence is a lie and the one person you thought you could trust wants your total and absolute surrender? You fight back, of course.

Zoey is the best asset in her agency, even though her rebellious nature gets her into a lot of trouble back in headquarters. She never thought of leaving the agency until an undercover mission makes her begin to question the very agency she belongs to, as well as question how much she can really trust her boss and mentor. Questions regarding the humanity of her organization and if the Board are actually monsters. When events happen to make her realize that soulless nightmares really do control her organization, she must use everything within herself to fight to escape the only place that's ever felt like home.

So, I don't typically like the "spy/assassin/government agent doing missions" sort of story, but this one really got me interested. It was a bit slow at first, but then I got invested in Zoey and whether she escapes the monsters wanting to control her or if she succumbs to them. I am very interested to see how the next instalment in the series goes!
