Deadside Reapers #2

Ungebetener Reaper

Rate this book
A Reaper who doesn’t reap is like a custard donut without the custard. Pointless.
Between getting my ass kicked by Azazel in the training room, avoiding Conah, and verbally sparing with Mal, I’m beginning to get a feel for what it means to be a Dominus Reaper.

The guys might not think I’m ready to get out and do my job, but I have a team of reapers relying on me, and I’m not about to let them down.

Leadership? No problem.

Teamwork? Bring it.

It’s time to jump into the fray.

While the guys track the Dread who attacked the Academy, I’m forced to work alongside Grayson, the Regency pack alpha, to investigate a missing persons case involving vamps.

The alpha is stubborn, bossy, arrogant, and sexy as hell. I’m torn between kissing him and punching him. But when he’s taken by the bloodsuckers, there’s no doubt in my mind that I need to get him back. Even if it means venturing into forbidden territory to do it.

Death awaits with fangs and claws, but I’ll be damned if I let it walk all over me.

Here’s to hoping I keep my head.

Maybe I shouldn't have continued this series because I felt the same as I did with the first one.

description

I'm really enjoying the world building, reaper mythos, and where the story is going in broad strokes--but I could really care less about the romance aspect of the story. Bc for some reason I just find myself being annoyed by it instead of thinking its hot or wondering how the RH will come together.

Honestly the constant longing, hormones fueled monologues, and 'tummy fluttering' thoughts are just not my jam. But if it is yours go for it- b.c I do find myself interested in Mal and Az's backgrounds...

But Conah still sucks, and I don't sympathize with him. I mean... why does Fee have to be the one responisble for not breaking up his relationship? She's the one keeping him in line at this point and that's should not be her problem. HE'S the one with a fiancee, and yet he keeps pushing her for something. What a jerk. Not to mention the constant lying.

description

Darn, I am liking this story, but I don't think ill read on to the next one bc the angsty romance is not really fun for me atm.

Debbie Cassidy does it again. This second book of the Reaper series is a total win.

Fee, the new Dominus Reaper, just can't catch a break. She has a soulmate mark with one of the other three reapers. She has some really steamy moments with another. The final reaper... he is engaged to be married, but he and Fee definitely have chemistry.

But that's not all! There's Uriel, lower circle celestial, who shows up to help her when she needs it (as long as it doesn't interfere with humans in any way) and Grayson the Loup Garou alpha of the Regency pack. Is the way feels when around Uriel just a byproduct of the "aura?" Can Grayson help Fee out of her new life altering situation?

So many more questions! Loved every second of this book. Highly recommend for those who love RH paranormal. It's everything you don't even realize you have been missing in a series.

More Revelations

The hits keep in coming, but maybe at least some surprises will stop for Fee.

We find out a lot in this book and Fee really steps up in her new role. Conah, Mal and Azazel are all falling hard and so is Fee. Then there's Grayson who also wants her. I had already figured out why, but talk about a shock to Fee's system. Not to mention the truth about what Cora is. She's pretty badass herself.

Fee is in a really bad spot at the end, though. Talk about traumatizing.

From page 1 I was hooked! We got a lot more time with Azazel & Mal in this book and I was LOVING IT! Debbie dropped some hellacious truth bombs on us here. Conah has me seething and ready to punch him in the junk.
Fee really comes into her own strength and power in this. She doesn’t hide behind the men or let them boss her around as much. I was happy that she really started taking the reigns to her new life!
It was a drama filled, suspense inducing, heart rate accelerating kickass story! I started reading at 11pm and looked up at 5am realizing I had work in 3 hours. I just couldn’t put it down. Being tired is a fair trade for this read!
I will say I am kinda in love with Grayson and Uri as well and hoping she ultimately chooses Azazel, Mal, Grayson and Uri. I have just lost the lovey dovey feelings for Conah 🙁 *sigh*
Warning: the cliffhanger will have you screaming and ready to throw a tablet! It was that good and that insane!
In all seriousness this is a show stopping sequel to book 1 that you should try! You’ll love it

4-4.5 stars. DANGIT! I knew I was gonna get dropped a dang cliffhanger and then have to freaking wait for the next book. I knew this shit was going to happen but did I pace myself, did I try to drag it out. NOOOOoooOOO. I rushed right in locked, cocked, and ready to rock and now I'm experiencing the book depression. Luckily the next book comes out June 11th so I'm not in for a long wait there, however, there is a book after that soooo.. I'm screwed pretty much.

I'm excited about all the answers we have gotten over book 2. Even if the guys are keeping all the "sssseecrettssss" we are getting timely reveals and this book was really action packed with all the events happening. As for the guys, I'll be honest I'm loving Mal, Azrael is growing on me and Conah can go suck a nut.. Pretty much sums it up. Excited for the "pack" of twists happening in book 2 but have no idea where this is going.. I mean damn we were already barely dealing here. There is something super fishy going on.. not just with the Dreads, though I'm not sure we have the whole story with that of course, but with Lilith, also. I know we aren't getting all the info yet. I feel like Uri might play a more important role than I first thought as well. Can't wait for the next one in the series!

and oh. the. men.... phew! it was steamy steamy hot up in this joint!!

Azazel- phew!!! what a growly alpha spunk but he is hiding things... saucy ancient spunky hunk

Mal - i could lick mal up from head to toe and back again, he is for sure my favourite!!!

Yes! This one is even better than the first. We got some questions answered and now we have more. Got me hooked from the first chapter. Oh and I totally loved Grayson and can’t wait for that to develop. Unfortunately not all books are perfect. The only thing I had wrong with this book is the special snowflake tendencies. She has all these special powers and is now kind of a werewolf? And it just showed up out of nowhere? It’s just one thing after another, But I will definitely be reading the next book.

No strong representations of diverse characters or minority identities.

Overall: 2/5 stars

So, I’ll not be continuing this series. These past two books have been the weirdest reverse harem romance novels I’ve ever read. They’re RH but not RH since she isn’t in a relationship with any of them yet gets emotionally attached and therefore very hurt when *surprise* the “NICE” guy has a fiancé who has happens to be his soulmate.

I know the author is setting up the next few books for the Heroine, Fee to forgive Conah, but he’s the definition of toxicity. He touts he’s doing everything for the greater good (his marriage will bring pEaCe to the realm) and swears he only keeps secrets to protect you! But, alas, it’s never been about protection but control! He wanted things done his way, on his time and when he said so. He wants Fee under his thumb. And the joke is that he insists he cares about his fiancé..., but he’s thinking about Fee when he’s *with* her. The fact that Fee still has the hots for Conah is unacceptable.

I read some reviews for the next book, and I had hoped for Grayson to be better... but apparently, his situation is similar to Conah’s, so no thanks.

Mal grew on me this book. His harem didn’t bug me since Fee knew about it and accepted it. If Fee was ok with it, an open relationship might work for them. Or maybe they should’ve just found a way to break his curse?

Part of a book being an RH means building relationships and working through their issues to create a committed family. Yet, there’s no effort on any of the MCs' parts to recognize they want more than the attraction and fight for it. Even Azazel is all *it’s too dangerous to be together*.

So, while I liked the urban fantasy save-the-world plot-lines, the whole abusive/controlling behaviour guided up as protection and lack of definitive reverse harem building mean I’m not going to continue this series.

Safety Rating: Not safe

As Fee starts training more, she's starting to learn more about her powers and what exactly she needs to do. Unfortunately, this brings about more questions not only about who she is but what she's capable of. Will the guys finally start telling her the truth? Or will they keep lying to her?

An excellent sequel in the Deadside Reapers series. The characters have really progressed in their development and they are starting to show their "softer" sides. We get to know a few more details of the guys and Cora. But as soon as we get some answers about 10 more pop up!

Debbie Cassidy delivers another fantastic book that will keep you riveted and wanting to know what happens next

Fee can't really have a moment of piace. She's not just a demon, but her bloodline instead shows she's something more, and it's gonna be hard to keep it a secret and for her three Dominus to keep her safe if that's the case. Someone is out for her, and they need to find out who. This book ends with a cliffhanger, so be ready for a sleepless night to read the whole series in a sitting.

I'm so glad Andrea recommend me this series. It's just so good.

OMG what a great read this second book is! As I dived into this I find myself hanging onto the edge of my seat as some questions are answered from book one but we are still on one hell of a rollercoaster in this journey! It’s emotional and action packed and I loved it although not the cliffhanger so much.. waiting patiently for book 3!

I loved, like LOVED the first book. But in this book I realised it was a RH book and god I hate that. Nothing wrong with RH books just not my jam. I mean there were hints of it in the first book but u was really hoping it was just flirty and was a slow burn with one coming clearer as I read in but oh well. It's just a great idea and storyline so give it a shot unless you're like me.

Should have checked if the third book is already out. Cliffhanger -.-….. but this poor fantastic slow-burn RH book is not responsible. Those five stars are earned. Perhaps it's even a good thing that the next book isn't out yet. More time for not reading. Or other books^^

I generally enjoy the author’s works but even her reverse harem theme is getting monotonous.
8.5 chapters in and no plot in sight. That bad I cancelled my pre-order for book 3.

Can we getting over what’s between the characters legs and get on with a story.
It is always first and foremost about a plot, character development and then relationships if any.

While Book 1 in this series was a bit confusing, this book smooths those edges and starts defining this universe in more approachable - though no less dangerous - terms. Fee, our strong, yet still naive, heroine, is struggling to fit in and find her place, surrounded by a group of men who truly want what's best for her, even if that means keeping her in the dark.

Those relationships, fragile as they are, are slowly strengthened here, adding layers and pillars to the nuances that have dragged this group together. Mal, Cohen, Azazel, Greyson and even Uri all stir up different aspects of emotion and personality in Fee, and the reasons why are slowly... oh so slowly... being disclosed. We don't get a front seat to ALL the answers, and honestly, we are left with even more questions, but the slow burn approach is delicious, and riveting. Who are these men? What do they mean to Fee? Or what WILL they mean to her?

Secrets breed secrets, and Fee is at the center of way too many of them. She learned a bit about her past and her heritage previously, yet none of that can really prepare her for what is coming down the pike, and how it will affect not only Fee, but everyone in her orbit.  In other words, watch the cliff.

⭐️ I received an ARC of this book and am thrilled to share my honest opinion!⭐️

Pros:
~ Well written.
~ Some of the confusing bits in Book 1 are answered here.
~ POV from different characters fill in the blank spaces in the narrative.
~ Cora! Did NOT see THAT coming!
~ Cyril.... is it fair to have a crush on a snake? I have a crush on a snake.
~ Azazel and Greyson.... I have so many feels when it comes to them.
~ That ending! Oh boy.... what is THAT going to mean?

Cons:
~ Cohen. Can I slap him? Seriously?
~ Felt short.

Perspective:
~ First Person, Multiple POV

Ending Type:
~ Cliffhanger....a doozy of one. Thankfully, Book 3 isn't far off. You can even pre-order it now.

Rating:
~ Mature

Romantic Dynamic:
~ I hazard to guess here, but from what it APPEARS.... MMMMMF

Character Age Range:
~ Adult

My Final Verdict on Reaper Uninvited

Emotional, action packed and free flowing, this PNR/Fantasy/Urban Fantasy slams across the page and dares you to keep up. It's a slow burn delight where feelings truly have a chance to build, though the tensions remain high, buffeted by a strange world that is doing its best to destroy or devour our Heroine. In other words? It's everything we've come to expect from Debbie Cassidy.

Hey Guys – I’d like to say my formal farewell to sleep because I have a series I am just OBSESSED with! The next installment of said series just also happens to be my newest addition to the nook – Reaper Uninvited by Debbie Cassidy!

First, my prayers have been answered in the form of one devastating hunk of man named AZAZEL. Holy heck, Debbie started us off right with perfect teaser scenes that made me laugh, smile, AND swoon. Is that a superpower?? Writing a scene that hits several different spots like a literary pro? I think so!

Fee’s character development really takes flight in Reaper Uninvited. She doesn’t suddenly become even stronger overnight and she really grows into her own identity. Often, I have found in some other urban fantasy books that so much emphasis is put around the plot only and the several plot twist bombs going off at once. It doesn’t really allow the character to reflect on themselves outside of what is going on or come into their own other than when they are facing their do-or-die moments. I was so happy to see Debbie avoided that pitfall with Reaper Uninvited.

Gosh, darn it…Debbie knows how to write unavailable men so well. I love it and I hate it… PLEASE give us more! I was fully team Azazel but she red-rovered me into camp Grayson (Yes, I did just make that a verb). All that aside, the plot was perfectly paced and didn’t give a darn thing away, leaving me clutching my kindle with a death grip at the end (Read: No spoilers).

All in all, Reaper Uninvited is a perfect slice of heaven that makes you cry for the WHOLE darn cheesecake. Needless to say, she already has my attention for the next installment, Reaper Untamed, which comes out in exactly 10 days. Just like a ransom, you have 10 DAYS to get the zzzs you need before the next titillating installment comes out.

(I know, I know, I never use titillated, but it was just that kind of day! I blame Azazel!)

description

Prepare yourself!

Artistic Appeal – Goodness gracious, I might just ditch team Grayson and go with Fee – this cover is SMOKING!

Character Development – Cora finally gets her plot twist and I’m so proud of how Debbie filled out all the little crevices in her character. I didn’t think I would care about a snake, but I have realized Cyril is an essential character and makes me laugh every single time. How do you make us care about snakes Debbie?! How?! Tell us your secrets!

The Ride – If this book were a ride it would be the Air Grover…. If that Air Grover had ten packs of Nos strapped to the carts, came off the rails, and led you through the craziest, most delightfully wild ride all over the amusement park. Just when you think you know what this world is all about, Debbie says hmmm hold my drink! And we need more, Debbie! June 11th can’t come soon enough!

Happy Reading!

I absolutely devoured this book.
It was a very quick read but every second of it had me on the edge of my seat!
There were many more secrets revealed, as well as other major revelations in this book; most notably how Fee is part Loup and oh yeah, she can shift into one.
How bad ass?
We absolutely don’t understand the extent of what she can do yet and I’m so excited to watch her discover her full potential.

Conah is literally betrothed but has obvious (strong) feelings for Fee, which is undoubtedly going to cause some major blowups in the near future.
Bring on the drama baby.
Mal has a sex curse and a guilty conscience about his soulmate’s death, which will be a difficult wall to get through but he’s just as bewitched as the others when it comes to Fee.
I do want to know more about his past and what happened there.
Az, her soulmate goes to great lengths to protect her in this book; when Fee walks in on him fucking Beth for the protective amulet I wanted to actually throw up.
It was literally the perfect moment to drop the soulmate bomb on him, this is going to be so juicy!!!
Uri is still a bit of a mystery but I have a feeling his presence will become more prevalent in the next few books; I’m digging his whole vibe and want to know more about him.

We end on another cliffhanger, where Fee gets attacked at her place with Lucas there waiting; she quite literally almost dies, after getting stabbed and she absolutely would have, if not for the beast that awoke inside her and reared it’s furry head.
Fee is a Loup and she realizes this after seeing that she ate Lucas.
*Gag*
He totally deserved it though.
Since he was human, she’s taken in by the Magiguard before the guys can whisk her away.
She’s going to have some interesting battles ahead and an alpha male Loup to contend with; I’m dying to see Graysons reaction to this news.
He’s coming for her, that’s all I can assume at this point.

What a fun read overall, I’m sprinting to book 3!

~4.5 stars~

Review may have spoilers 😬: Enjoy!!
I love the plot and I love the characters! I'm so ready for the third book. Fee is finally ponying up and I'm here👏for👏it👏! She is no longer letting the other reapers have control over her. She and Cora are my spirit animals...errr I guess spirit reapers! Azazel is a big, quiet, hard ass with a heart of gold and a squishy middle. He is killing me with his hot🤒/cold🥶 routine ugh 🤦‍♀️. And Mal, he is tall, dark, and oh so yummy 🥴... until he says he's cursed. I'm so intrigued, I need to know what the curse is! Moving on from my favorite male main character that wouldn't be caught dead/alive with a shirt on. Next we have Conah, the "I lie to protect you"🙄, hypocritical reaper boy. Conah, Conah, Conah *tsk tsk tsk*. This man gets me riled up and not in a good way. He likes Fee, but doesn't communicate with her about anything she should know about! 😒 He continues to lie to her and doesn't learn his lesson after she catches him in a lie multiple times. He's a habitual idiot that Fee can't help but like (love?). Kiera, his soulmate, is nice, but isn't there always a woman at home awaiting her lover's return? Cliché 🥱. But Kiera is kind, thoughtful, realistic, and maybe suspicious 🤔? The good character always has a card up their sleeve. On the surface though, she's amazing. Conah, however, is not😤. He needs to man up and make a decision. Stop leading Fee on and give up Kiera or lay down a boundary between him and Fee. Only time will tell or the next book... We'll see 🤷‍♀️. This was a good book, if you're interested in a sloooowww, and boy do I mean sloooowwww burn reverse harem romance with a badass reaper chick as the main character and some yummy reaper male characters, then look no further! ‼️🤪

(Emoji's used to express all range of emotions with this book, it's a rollercoaster!!😅)

Book one in this series was great but it was just an appetizer as book 2 is where the storey really starts to build and take shape.
The character development and world building in this series is amazing added to the complex but very enjoyable well told storey this is probably going to be the best series yet by Debbie Cassidy.
In this book Fee starts to find her new place in the world whist coming to terms with and developing her different relationships with the other 3 Domini.
Conah obviously is drawn to Fee and they fight their attraction as he is engaged and i don’t think that this relationship will go anywhere other than perhaps hopefully fizzle towards a brotherly influence. Mal - well he is an asshat but a lovable one with a soft centre and i think is widely misunderstood. Broody Azazel is just as you would expect him to be a total Alpha all about protecting Fee
Fee meanwhile has so much compassion and dept its really wonderful when added to her grit, determination to do the right thing and stubbornness.
In the background you have other potential interest in Grayson and Uri
The storey is complex and has many twists and turns as you would expect from Debbie Cassidy and yes does end on a big cliff-hanger but it is such a good ending and well if you don’t like cliff-hangers then you really wouldn’t be a fan of this author, me on the other hand, I love the way that she always has you reaching, needing and wanting the next book desperately as there are so many series out there where you finish one book and read the next because you feel you ought to rather than desperately needing to know what happens next.
LOVE THUS SERIES SO MUCH!! I cant wait to see what happens next

I really enjoyed the first book, so i purchased the second book right away... and loved it more. I like it so much i added it to my "constant re-read" shelf.
5. I NEED MORE!
Fantasy: 5. witches, reapers, ghosts, packs, vampires and a bunch of new creatures.
Romance 5: This is a RH, but a slow burn which i love. The author takes time developing the relationships between her and the 4 reapers... oh and the celestial ( i swear there is something there too) ohh and the pack alph ( they have to be mates or something) i can't wait for the rest.
Steam: No sex in this book, but lots and lots of dirty thoughts, and comments that keep you guessing.
Humor: 5.constantly found myself grinning. especially when she found herself saying things she knows she shouldn't, thinking thinks she shouldn't be thinking and doing things she should not be doing. She is in a world she does not understand, and so their laws and regulations mean nothing to her. She speaks her mind and does what she wants.
Narrator:5. The first book was all female, but the second book had a couple chapters in a male voice and the two men that read those were hot hot hot!
Action:3. the story flowed smoothly. there was a good antagonist and it kept the story moving.

Plot:
She trained and goes out hunting with her reapers
Conner loves her, even though he is with his soul mate
She saves the wolf from vampires and heals him, she finds out she is part wolf
steamy scenes with her and Mel, just kissing for now, but you can tell he loves her
She saves Ezekel from having to mate with the witch and he finds out they are bonded, but he can't accept her bond.
Ends with her wolf coming out in a battle and her eating lucus her childhood friend! She is taken by their police.

Loveeddddd it! It was great. The story is unfolding so well and it’s really seamless which I love. I have questions ofc bc this whole series is a mystery. Like a rollercoaster of emotions and sooo many things happening that just blow my mind. But I’m never left confused on things when I read it.

I’m throughly enjoying this book and Fee’s story. I’m loving how Mal, Azazel, and Conah are with her and I can’t wait to see how each of their relationships unfold. Plus we all need and love a supportive bestie and Cora as well as Cyril are just that and they’re awesome.

It truly makes me enjoy something even more when it’s realistic especially the characters. It makes me just fall in love with them more. I enjoy how Fee is growing but still keeping to her compassion while discovering new things about herself. I mean everything that’s happened and the way it ended oof, I mean I felt like it was going to happen but the way it did. I mean dayummmm.

Plus I enjoyed how this book had little snippets of others POV’s it always feels like it adds more to the story to me. I’m so glad Fee finally told her soulmate secret. It’s just sooo many little things in this book I could make a whole list of all the reasons I love it but that’d take awhile. :)

Anyhow I’m so enamored with this series and where it’s going. That whole dread thing was crazyyy and this cliffhanger, ughhh wasn’t ready at alllll but so excited to see what Fee does now.

Well to end this as I always do: to the author you are a beautiful fantastic writer and I love you. And to another reader you’ve made it this far I hope, and if not and this is the first book you’ve seen make sure you read this series bc it’s awesome!!! Alrighty well that’s it for me, I’m now onto book three hehe ;)

ee is learning more and more about being a Reaper and what is expected of her. Well she is trying to at least, she can't really do that unless everyone stops being so protective and just lets her do her job. But tell that to Conah, Mal and Azazel. When a mission sorda lands her in along side the Regency Pack Alpha Grayson, who has already shown interest in her, Fee does what she thinks is right, rather if the guys back her or not. There are plenty of secrets kept by all, but the thing is, secrets can get you killed.

I have made it no secret I am a huge Debbie fan, I literally have enjoyed every book she has written. Yeah she is one of those authors, for me anyway. This series has reached my top one by her, yeah I know I say that with each one, she really does just keeps getting better and better.

So with Reaper Uninvited we have Fee struggling to fulfill her role as a reaper. She is trying so hard to do what is expected of her and what is right. I honestly think she is such a breath of fresh air for the reapers. I really do like her as a character, who knows what she wants, what is right, good and does her best to follow through.

The guys, wow, some you want to love, a couple you may want to hit, Conah, but overall they do want what is best for Fee and do get a tad overprotective. There are tons of secrets out there, new things we learn about the guys, but still so much more to learn. I cannot wait to find out some of their secrets.

But Overall, this series is so freaking good. I love the characters, the plot, the pace, the banter, the action and with a touch of romance. All of it comes together to make one hell of a read!!!

Heavily contemplating one star but i guess it was entertaining enough for me to finish? There are so many more problems with this book and i just can’t bring myself to continue reading another installment in this series.

I signed up for a RH urban fantasy/ paranormal story. I got the bare minimum romance aspect of that. And it’s not because it wasn’t there. It’s because it was frustrating. We have about 5 potentials right now. The same three dominus reapers from the first book, an alpha werewolf, and a low tier celestial. One of the reapers really aggravated me because he continues treat her as if she’s a weak woman by keeping things from her and acting as if she’s unable to do anything. Not to mention he’s planning his wedding to his soulmate while all of this is happening. One of the reapers i could care less about and would be okay with a friendship between them. And the last reaper is amazing and her actual soulmate but i don’t think the MC values him as much as she should until the literal last three chapters. The other two love interests are cool but unnecessary. I could overlook my qualms about the romances if they actually came together. There has been no progression and it just seems like there is no clear path as to how or when they’ll actually come together f0r this to be a RH. You could hardly call this a romance because there has been no action. Literally just thoughts. It’s frustrating and the only reason I could continue is because I actually like the paranormal aspects of the story. Not that it was well executed.

I’m done with this series though. Debbie Cassidy, do better. This was not it.

Happy to say I’m still hooked on the series! We left off the first book on Fee discovering her soulmate is Azazel. Now, we’re seeing Fee getting comfortable in her role as a Dominus reaper. There’s training, lots of sexual tension, and mystery to be unfolded.

The reaper lore and history is super interesting. Its interesting to see it all connected to demons and angels/celestials along with the other supernatural creatures. The continuing mystery with the Dread and mouths is getting somewhere and I’m intrigued to find out what’s going to happen there.

The romantic aspect of this story has been slowly developing with lots of sexual attraction and frustration, which I love to see lol. I like the characters to build that emotional connection before they jump into things, and in terms of all the harem members, it’s gonna be hard to do that in the first place. Between the reapers...a sex curse, a soulmate cursed to protect her against his mother, and another in a super important arranged marriage to his soulmate... things aren’t looking great. Tbh, don’t like Canoh too much cause he’s expecting something from Fee but doesn’t break off things with Kiara ugh. But the attraction is superrrr strong for them all from Fee along with the two other non reapers. I’m totally in love with Grayson and want to see more of his character, along with Uri.

Anyway, I’m here for the next book. With all we’ve found out about Fee’s powers/origins, it’s gonna be a wild ride to see how she’s gonna get out of being a brood mare for these wolves.

Liked it But...

*****Spoilers*****

Interesting developments in this book. Seraphina it turns out is also a loup, among other things. She eats Lucas at the end of this one, though we don't get the gory details, just the aftermath. But the thing that's odd to me about the whole thing is why Conah didn't just teleport with her instead of trying to walk out of the doors of her house. Makes not a lot of sense to me. She's taken right away by the magic police for killing a human.

There's not much else to the book other than Seraphina taking up for herself and trying to be what she is, a reaper. She's shrugging off the protectiveness of the other reapers and coming into her own, and now this. Another thing that makes no sense to me is that Seraphina being a loup supercedes her reaper status. It would seem to be that the opposite would be true but okay. Next book I'm guessing will be about her as a loup and tales with Grayson.

This book was short too, could have been combined with the first one I think. The worst thing that happens in this book outside of Seraphina eating her friend is that Azazel sacrifices himself to a witch to complete a ritual of blood, sex, and pain to get Seraphina an amulet to protect her which leads to her revealing that she's Azazel's soulmate. He's in awe but won't complete the bond, go figure. This story about Seraphina so far has been many potential love interests and some steamy kisses and off the charts attraction that leads nowhere.

“Reaper Uninvited” is a more intense read than the first book in this series. Yes, the main character, Fee still has the annoying habit of wanting to have sex the other every male that has a dangling participle between his legs but if you can overlook that you will be in for a bit of mystery and intrigue.

There are so many secrets that will be revealed in this follow up book but I refuse to leak spoilers. However, I will say that all of the characters are hiding secrets and some are more challenging than others.

Fee has started to become a more fierce opponent and she is on a mission to save as many people/ friends as she can. She meets her Reaper team and at first they are none too thrilled about her. Their first mission is to stamp out a clan of vampires that have been preying on victims from a local nightclub. Unfortunately, Grayson the Loup Garou alpha is abducted during the take down and Fee is not about to leave him to a horrific fate.

Of course her fellow Dominus are keeping important secrets from her and all is about to come to a head. Little does she realize that sometimes ignorance truly is bliss. There are plenty of kick butt moments in this read and the tension between the characters is palpable. The ending will leave you with your mouth open and saying, “Whaaaaaa?” If you can get over Fee’s list for all things make, you will definitely want to put this book on your to read list.
