Vanna

While serving as a Marine, my husband survived when an explosion took out the transport he was travelling in. He lived but suffered a traumatic brain injury which wiped his memory.

What do you do when your husband doesn’t recognise you or his young son? What if living together is doing neither of you any favours? After two years of trying and we still weren’t more than strangers, I accepted defeat and we parted.

Cas, our son, has grown into an unruly teenager, getting into trouble and
needing a father’s guiding hand. At my wits’ end, I set out to find his dad, hoping after all these years, he might have his memory back, or at least, be persuaded to play some part in the life of the son he didn’t accept he had.

Mace

Lizard had been right to worry about the girl wanting her ‘Property of’ tat removed. Putting a patch on someone has meaning in our world. Before we covered it up, we needed to discover who had claimed her as theirs.
I’m a confirmed bachelor, but when we found out who’d put their name on her back, I was one of the first to offer my protection to her, and the kid she brought along with her.

Manda’s life's always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman?

There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected.

Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.

Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.

I just can't believe that a woman wastes her precious time in writing something so ridiculous and disgusting! And yes, this is the kind of book you can judge by the cover, because it’s just awful. If you want to waste your time and money this excuse for a book will help you do that.

........................

"I’m Lizard, otherwise known as Norton James. I ride with the Satan’s Devils MC and have done for the past ten years. I’m thirty-eight years old, and my birthday is… my birthday is the tenth of January. The current President of the United States is… well, who can forget that name? I’m a tattoo artist and I run Devil’s Ink on behalf of my brothers. I’ve no ties, no family and that’s the way I intend to stay.

Today is going to be a good day."
...

"When the meeting ends, Mace claps his hand to my shoulder as we walk out the door, pausing to retrieve our phones. “I told Titsy and Breezy to wait outside my room. You still game?”

“Yeah.” I grin. A good session of fucking will clear my head. “Whatcha got, Mace?”

“New handcuffs, spreader bar and a violet wand.”

“Yeah?” I repeat, my lips curving more.

“Ginger butt plugs too.”

Now I’ve a vision in my head of those girls squirming when they’re on my cock, leg’s held open so they can’t escape the burn in their asses. “You’re a cruel motherfucker, aren’t you?”

He chuckles. “I am the enforcer. I like torture, what can I say?”

Breezy and Titsy are leaning against the door to his room. Mace unlocks it and stands aside to let the three of us precede him in, then he picks up a bag by the side of the bed and empties the contents on the comforter. He throws down a handful of condoms for good measure.

I swear both girls eyes brighten as they see the goodies he’s bought, picking up the fur-lined cuffs and toying with them in their hands, until Titsy picks up the ginger.

“Uh-uh,” she says, shaking her head and inching away. “I am not into figging.” She looks hopefully toward Mace. “Unless this is for you?” She turns to me. “Or you?”

“Nah, sweetheart. All for you. Now, shall we start?” He looks my way and winks. I’m happy for him to lead this show. Mace knows what he’s doing and I’m just here to watch, to learn, oh, and to enjoy. From the girl’s reaction they’re not so sure the pleasure will be theirs tonight.

Did I say Mace is evil and I may have a bit of that streak myself? Hell yeah.

Nodding toward me and then the second pair, Mace takes the nearest set of handcuffs and soon Breezy is restrained to the convenient rails of the headboard on his bed. I’m less than a moment behind him having Titsy imprisoned too. Again I copy him as he takes a couple of pillows and as he tucks them under Breezy’s stomach, I do the same to Titsy. Soon the girls are face down with asses up, and we soon have their shorts and panties torn off. Next it’s the spreader bars which we attach to their ankles and then fasten to the foot of the bed.

They might be protesting, but their wide-open pussies are glistening with anticipation.

Mace then starts to prepare the ginger. Both girls turn their heads toward him and watch with wide-open eyes as he pares down each root so that it forms a four inch finger. He digs a small channel out near the base to form a ring that makes them look like butt plugs.

I’ve never played with ginger before. I can imagine the effects, but have never witnessed it. Something tells me I’m going to enjoy this.

Mace wets the ginger thoroughly with cold water from the bathroom sink.

“No lube?”

“No,” he replies to me. “Lube is oily and will block the effect.” With an evil chuckle he adds, “And we want them to get the most from the experience, don’t we?”

The girls both continue protesting as he and I approach. I’ve played with butt plugs before, so treat this the same. With my fingers, I carefully expose Titsy’s rosebud, then, to her objections, start pushing my finger of ginger in. When she clenches, I slap her ass, and she relents.

She sighs a little when it’s seated.

“There, that’s not too bad, is it?” asks Mace with a knowing wink in my direction. “Liz, come wash your hands. You do not want ginger in your eyes.”

Heaven forbid. I follow him and stand by his side at the sink. “How long?” I ask him quietly.

“Not long at all.”

“Oooh. Ow. Oh, take it out.” Breezy’s voice starts sounding from behind me.

“Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow!” shouts Titsy.

Mace is chuckling. “There we go.” He walks back into the bedroom and slaps Breezy’s ass.

“Ow! Asshole! Motherfucker!” She screeches as she automatically clenches her butt cheeks then releases them when it tightens her anus on that ginger.Of course, I have to try the same thing. At Titsy’s loud protest, I begin to hope brothers in the adjacent rooms have ear plugs.

Both girls now start to writhe. “Fuck me, for fuck’s sake,” yells Breezy.

“There we go,” says Mace. “Makes them feel fuckin’ horny. You ready to oblige, Brother?”

Too right I am. Jeans and boots are quickly off and condoms are on.

My cock must increase the sensations. Titsy’s, well, I’m not quite sure whether she’s trying to get me off, or trying to dislodge the ginger, but she’s soon clamping around my cock, coming and coming. I hold off, thinking of everything but the pressure on my dick, practiced at prolonging this.

I hammer and thrust using my hands to push her buttocks together or slap her, making her jump. She’s pushing back against me, coming and then again, until her orgasms are almost continuous. Seems the ginger is really doing its stuff. I’m determined not to blow my load before Mace, but I can’t hold off. The way Titsy’s using my cock is just too much, and that final squeeze… well, I’m a goner.

I’m pleased to see Mace isn’t far behind me.

Both girls have now collapsed onto the bed, both groaning and sated, but no longer complaining.

“It’s worn off,” Mace tells me, grinning.

Well, that was an experience. We get the girls untied and unfigged, then turn them over. My cock is ready for another round, and Titsy’s still got more in her.

“You want my ass?” she says, impudently.

I growl against her ear. “Not fuckin’ likely.” I don’t want to burn and risk my dick falling off.

In the end, I come three times before the girls shuffle unsteadily out of Mace’s room. Picking up my jeans, boots and cut, I follow them out, closing the door behind me, unconcerned my dick’s swinging free as I walk to my room. I shower, go to bed and fall into a dreamless sleep."

..........................

“The reason why I’m here is that I’ve stayed faithful to my husband, Lizard. I’ve not wanted another man, well, maybe I have needs, but I’ve a son to raise, and my focus has been on him. I’ve tried to do everything right, but Cas is… difficult. My father is dead, I have no brothers, or sisters come to that. No family at all really, since my mother and I fell out. No, I’m not looking for sympathy, but my son needs help. Cas has no male figure in his life, and I think now he needs one.” I hold up my hand and turn around fast as I hear Mace’s intake of breath. “Cas is pushing boundaries. First it was mischief, what all kids do. Sneaking candy without paying for it. But it’s escalated. He’s fourteen years old and last week hotwired a car. I’m doing all I can to keep him out of jail.”

....................

“Lizard is happy with someone else…” My voice trails off as I find it too hard to complete my sentence.

His face tightens and he glances in the direction that my son had gone, making sure he’s out of earshot. “Vanna, I can assure you Lizard hasn’t got a girlfriend, fiancé or wife. But I have got to warn you, the club has girls, they’re there for one thing only. Sex. Sex without strings or emotions.”

I widen my eyes then close them, picturing the girl who’d had her hands on my husband, then I open them again, having prepared myself, and ask for the confirmation I’m certain I’ll hear. “Lizard… Liz goes with them for sex?”

Mace’s eyes meet mine. “Yeah.”

Yeah.

I stand, walk to the counter and lean over it, feeling my body vibrating with rage. Lizard goes with whores. The good news is that he isn’t taken. The bad? Whether or not he knows it, the fact is, he’s fucked around on his wife".
...............

Believe me, it is not worth elaborating. Just another "author" romanticizing this shit.🤦‍♀️🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

1 ⭐- Ugh! Didn't like it or triggers or pet peeve!
======================================
LOSER = heroine
BOB = club whore
==================

often—I can take my choice of the five club girls who exist just to keep us sexually satisfied.

Hmm. I glance back at the bed where I’d fucked Bella last night.

The night before that, Mace and I had Breezy and Tulia together.

I don’t have it in me to commit to one pussy for life.

“Sure, Mace. What’s up?” He leans in. “Got a few goodies from that sex shop on Main. Think they’re right up Titsy and Breezy’s street. You game?”

Bitches can be tricky. They say one thing but mean another. Sticking with whores means no such complications.

“I told Titsy and Breezy to wait outside my room. You still game?” “Yeah.” I grin. A good session of fucking will clear my head.

Castiel, Cas as he’s known, is my fourteen-year-old wayward son. He gets into trouble more than he’s out of it.

“You can’t go through life moping after a man who doesn’t want you, Vanna.”

If she was younger, I’d be jealous she was asking for my brother and not here for me.

My eyes spot Lizard and I turn away quickly, having spied a woman he’s got his arm draped around.

The woman with her arm around my husband looks more like a hooker.

she’s been faithful to him all these years. It isn’t her fault the man who made vows to her can’t keep them himself.”

“Vanna, I can assure you Lizard hasn’t got a girlfriend, fiancé or wife. But I have got to warn you, the club has girls, they’re there for one thing only. Sex. Sex without strings or emotions.”

she’s quite a pretty-looking bitch, though older than the ones he usually goes for. Wonder if he’s going to share her?

Would have to ditch the kid though.

Tulia’s obvious concern. She takes hold of my hand. “Come on, how about I make you feel better?”

I take myself off to find Breezy to ease the sudden ache in my dick.

It had been last night when Lizard had led a giggling and expectant Breezy up the staircase, clearly heading to his room, that I’d caught her staring, her hands clenched at her sides. Mixed emotions crossed her face—anger, betrayal, longing, desire, disgust, and finally defeat.

Vanna having Liz’s infidelity right up in her face must be fucking hard. I wonder whether she’d ever be able to forgive him, even if Lizard woke up one day and remembered her.

I’ll have to accept I’ll have to watch my husband being unfaithful. Maybe it’s time I dropped that label, when he seems perfectly happy with his stable of girls instead. Younger, prettier…

I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching over the past few days and have realised I need to let Lizard go. We’re only tied together in my head and on that piece of paper that makes it all legal.

“He wouldn’t look twice at me, Lindy.” I frown and try to explain. “There are club girls, girls who live at the club. They like sex and are not shy about taking what they want.” “Whores?”

The man I’d married would never have stepped out on me. But would he even be able to be faithful again, now that he’s experienced variety?

Of course, I’ll have a few beers, but will resist the urge to overindulge, and concentrate instead on my other method of relaxation, sinking my cock into any available whore.

When I’d left the meeting, Bella had been available, and I’d made good use of her for a couple of hours.

I’ve never been interested in having kids of my own, did everything I could to prevent it. Always used my own condoms and not one a girl conveniently had in her purse.

She’s an attractive bitch for one in her thirties.

With a leer, I give Vanna the once over, and scoff. “Haven’t ever been there, nor have any inclination.” Realising too late how that might sound, I throw the woman a look of apology. “Don’t mean anything by it, darlin’, but you’re not my type.”

“Yeah, get out of here. You’re not welcome here, kid.”

“It’s best that you don’t come back. Best for Lizard and best for you.” He glances at Cas, then focuses on my face. “It’s not doing you or Cas any good, Vanna.”

Lizard had said it himself; he doesn’t want Cas anywhere near him, and as for me? He couldn’t have put it any better. I’m not his type.

But it must have been hard for him to stand there this morning and hear his father deny him and then say his mother wasn’t someone he’d have gone for.

Even with her new hairdo, stylish clothes which hugged her still good figure, Lizard hadn’t given her a second glance. She wasn’t, as he’d put it so succinctly, his type.

My life might have become a living hell when he’d lost all his memory, but I couldn’t resent Liz for carrying on and living his.

Last time he recovered, I remind myself. But he’d woken a different man. A man who’s first words had been, Who the fuck are you?

It’s hard to accept he knows all these club girls intimately and I hate that they’ve had more years with him than he had with me.

As I can last envisage her, Vanna hadn’t lost all her baby weight.

Why can’t I look at her and feel horny, just as I used to?

Taking another deep breath, I wave down at my groin. “I’m not interested in her that way.”

“But I went with whores,” he repeats, torturing himself. “And Vanna used her vibrator. I sort of told her that’s all they meant to you.”

“What would you do?” I ask out of interest. “If you met me on the street as I am now? Would you give me a second look, or would you walk on by?”

I sense Vanna’s reluctant because she’ll be forced into close proximity with girls she’s too well aware I’ve fucked. I hate to have it thrown in her face, but right now there’s little to be done.

HEAVY SPOILERS

This author is actually writing about 2 different couples in this book, so you get a lot of the book that's focused on the other couple. You will go chapters without this couple being mentioned.

He woke up from surgery and thought everything was 12y ago. So he had kind of amnesia and he had also a brain tumor to explain his change of personality. He does remember her and his son, but he thinks that it's 12 years ago. He thinks he's still 22 and his son is 2 years old. That's why he can't get sexually excited about his wife, because she looks older. In his words "he never thought he would go for an older woman" He doesn't find his wife attractive, because she's older, (he still thinks of himself as a 22 year old man) his dick doesn't twitch, and he doesn't know how he'll feel about having to make love to her. They tried working it out when he didn't remember her or his son for 2 years. He then just packed up and left. She had tracked him to a different city and followed him there, but he was already gone. She lost track of him for the next 10 years.
He spent the whole 1st half of the book putting her down because she was older and "not his type".
After he took off The heroine has been poor, struggling to raise their kid on her own all these years and he’s off living the fun single life and screwing club whores every day with zero responsibility and even thinks to himself daily that he loves that he’s single and has no kids.

Heroine was celibate and waited for her husband, who did not find her attractive

Not rating this one.
It would be unfair because I don’t like double standards stories where a hero is a manwhore and the heroine stays faithful, even if he has a very good reason to do this.
He’s had brain injury at 26 who led him to have continuous short term memory loss, he woke up every day forgetting the day before. He had a wife and a kid of two, and after two years of trying he managed to leave and he joined a MC. He forgot completely his wife and kid. He also had a brain tumor who caused him headache and other issues sadly not sexual issues since he was able to have sex with a lot of club girls repeatedly.
His wife tries to get in touch with him because her 14 yo kid needs a father. He’s having issues and is acting out.
He doesn’t know who they are.
He keeps having sex with ow.
The club forbid the heroine to tell him the truth because they’re afraid she could do him harm.
Really?
Take him to a doctor, to a hospital if you think he could be killed by some words. Really?
What was this author thinking.
So, he has brain tumor and after the tumor he remembers his wife twelve years before snd wonder why she’s so old.
Then he doesn’t find her attractive because she’s old.
Even if these things can happen I don’t like to read about the kinky sex he had with club hoes while his wife struggled to keep herself and their kid.
And never had another man.
I’m starting to think that maybe, probably, American women have some low sex drive. In Italy there’s no way a woman in her prime who has been ditched by her man stays celibate for ten years. Never heard before. And I’m no spring chicken. So I think that maybe my Latin blood doesn’t let me understand how a pretty young woman in her twenties prefers celibacy to some human comfort touch. I don’t call her strong or faithful I call her stupid and loser.
Sorry for being mean, but he made clear he didn’t want her and their kid, so she had a duty to move on and live fully, to show her kid she and he deserved to be loved by a worthy man.
I understand brain injury and tumors but she didn’t have to ruin her life while he was living his best life.
I don’t understand and I can’t accept this kind of commitment that is simply stupidity and fear of life, of trying to fall in love again.
I also don’t like that a book is so descriptive of his sex life and that the author made him unfaithful even after he saw her again.
He simply wouldn’t have been interested in.
I’m sorry to say that when I read he had a brain tumor I hoped he wouldn’t make it because apparently it was the only way for her to move on. Or maybe not since she had no sex drive.
I would like to remember these authors that women have needs too. That they needs touch, sex and comfort as men.
And there’s nothing honorable and good in a woman who stays celibate for ten years knowing her husband is out there having the time of his life.
So tired of this. The book anyway don’t focus on only one couple but on two, the other is another mc with an abused woman and there’s double standard too.
These author hate women apparently or doesn’t like sex so she thinks sex is ew and is allowed with only one man. Basically what my grand grandmother thought too, 100 years ago or so.

Wow - so amazed in this day and age to have an author writing about a doormat heroine who waits 12 years for a husband who first lost his memory, then left her with a small child, never paid any child support and fucked other women every night. Yes, he lost his memory but that didn’t mean he couldn’t be responsible for his child at least and pay child support. And I hated, hated that she waited for him, instead of filing for divorce and moving on. Really, what kind of message are we sending women here? Wait around for deadbeat men? Having him be a soldier doesn’t negate the fact that he acted like a total arsehole to a innocent family whom he left without any support at all.

Authors - for the love of all that is good, can we please stop writing about heroines who wait around? I want to read about strong women living their lives, moving on, and letting go of pasts that don’t serve them.

WOW, just WOW! Every book Manda writes just gets better. I cannot express how this is not just a romance book, not that there's anything wrong with romance books, it is so so much more. This story has a depth and breadth that is unparalleled. It is hard to express all that this book IS.....love, death, heartbreak, second chances, hurt, etc.....it just goes on. I believe that Liz and Vannah's story is one of the best that's been told, not to mention Mace and Shayla. The story of a soldier with a traumatic brain injury who then doesn't remember his wife and young son is absolutely heartbreaking, but seeing how it all comes together is breathtaking!! This is not just a story, it is a journey that we all take with these unforgettable characters. This is absolutely a MUST READ!!! This is the best book I've read this year!!!

I finished Devil's Spawn days ago and I am still trying to come up with what to say about this unique story. Sometimes, at least for me, you read a blurb for a story and you have a visceral reaction. You need to get your hands on this story asap cause you know it is going to be epic. That is what I felt about Devil's Spawn. When I did get my hands on it, I waited a few days till the weekend to start it. I knew it would consume me, swallow me up until I finished it. It wouldn't matter what was going on, I would not be able to pull myself away. I was completely and totally correct! It really is best to just go in with only what you know from the blurb. Just trust me, it is more than you think. With every single book Ms Mellett is upping her game, creating unforgettable characters that you can't help but love, no matter what. I was blown away and I cannot wait for the next Satan's Devils book!

This book is filled with so many wonderful characters and lots of twists and turns. I am just blown away! Esme broke my heart! What a sweet kid and so glad it turned out great for her.

I was so upset when Mace told Vanna & Cas not to come back to Pueblo that it wasn’t working out with Liz and him not knowing/remembering them. Vanna is such a loving character. I wanted to smack Cas several times for his attitude but ended up changing my mind towards the end.

Mace and Shayla I loved! So glad Mace settled down, too.

I finished this book in a few hours amazing writing from Manda Mellett again. Her books always hook my from the beginning. Mace is extremely admiral in this book i am starting to like him more and more. Vi is such a strong female character and very helpful to those in need. The same goes for the rest of the gang you can be scared of them and ask for help and they will help those who need but do not cross them. I adore how all the chacters have come from different walks of life. Both stories mould together extremely well. It has so many twist and turns heartbreaks a amazing read.

Ok. I get it. You wanna make a liar outta me!?

I have been VERY IMPATIENTLY waiting on this story. Yet AGAIN Manda has created a story that I didnt want to end.
Though hoping there was a couple of future teasers there too!?

Though she keeps me changing my second fav with each book. Jokers always my fav.

After everything Vanna and Cas go through to get to Lizard, the story is well written and flows perfectly. I love how the brothers all take to Cas and help straighen things out.
As for Mace. His perfect woman is strong while not seeing it. He needed her quiet calming presence to help when his brother was in trouble

Shame I can only give 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Oh my Devil's Spawn was like 2 amazing books in one. With two of my favorite bikers, Lizard and Mace finally getting their stories.

There is so much going on you are instantly sucked on and turning pages to see what happens next.
Love all the guys and the banter between them.

One thing I love about this series is the heroines are always strong and kick a$$. They never let life bring them down no matter what they faced.

Can't wait to read who is next!!

Always excited to read Manda's new books, what can I say about this one? Wow that's what I want to say.
I opened this with a thought of how can the new characters be on par with previous ones, well they certainly are! We were greeted with 2 characters stories I was totally blown away and totally took my time getting through the stories as I didn't want them to end.
Lizard and Vanna have a crazy ride and I can't wait to see if we hear more about them and their son Cas.
Mace and Shay what an amazing couple they end up.

A fantastic 2 for 1 book that entwine perfectly together.

Whilst I absolutely admire this author, I’m afraid this one didn’t work for me. Having two stories in one was distracting for me and took away from Lizards very own hellish storyline. Look forward to the next one.

This book is amazing!! Manda has created yet another story I did not want to end.

This a 2 for 1 book with Liz & Vanna story intertwined with Shay & Mace’s story.

Manda takes you on a journey with unforgettable characters!! It’s intense, emotional and heart stopping love story.

I can’t wait to see what Manda has coming next!!

Not sure how to rate this. Going in-between 2 or 3 stars. The writing was just ok, but felt lazy to me. She put two couple's stories in here and they switched back and forth and I disliked that very much. Given the amnesia plot it should have taken the forefront. I need to say this book is NOT safe. At all. Pass it if you don't like cheating. But I guess you can't call it cheating because the H Lizard lost his memory for 10 years. Not remembering he had a wife or son. In those ten years he slings his dick between all the club whores and enjoys sharing. At least he used condoms. 🙃 My biggest issue? Though the scenes with the club whores were anything but sexy. Cringe worthy yes, it was the way Vanna the h's character was written. People in reviews said she didn't have a backbone, and I agree, but I'll add zero character development, bland, no personality, boring, etc. A piece of cardboard would have been more exciting. You get my drift. And everyone treated her like a second class citizen. This MC club didn't like her that much, or it was the way the author portrayed their lackluster thoughts towards her. They were talking her into everything and making sure she knew the club and club brothers would come first before her. Yeah didn't like that at all to be honest. Demon the Prez was a dick. There were no strong female leads. And I laughed out loud when the author had a character named Mace explain to TDTL Vanna that her using her vibrator and Lizard f****** flesh of a woman was the exact same thing. Uh...... Yeah, I know. This author was trying way too hard to make it seem like these bikers were hardcore. If anything they just had sex addictions and bad choices.

Overall this book lacked any real substance. And because there's a bunch of different thing's going on and different POVs it just wasn't enjoyable. The characters, especially Vanna were lifeless. Wasn't entertaining at all. And the ow scenes were yucky. The intimate scenes between the MMCs were again lifeless. Am I the only one who hasn't heard of raw ginger being made into butt plugs? Because that's not something I would recommend. Also, Lizard wasn't even attracted to his wife when he had amnesia. 😂 He thought she was ugly and old basically. Thank you author for saying 34 is old and gross. Wish I could go back to 34. Damn. Everytime someone's inner monologue came up discussing Vanna it was always she's pretty for an old woman. 🙃🙃 I'm actually hesitant to read anymore MC books from this author. Any male MC authors out there? Because I want to read one from an actual male perspective. I wanna see how they'd write a MC book. Don't come at me 😂.

Last, but not least. In my opinion this isn't a romance. There was nothing romantic about the story or romance between the characters. The ending was again lackluster.

Almost forgot. My pet peeve. h is celibate for 10 years. Well 12 if you count the first couple of years she tried to help him recover after his TBI

Contrary to popular comments this book does not have cheating in it!

Yes he slept around with different women for 10 years but he had lost his memory and he didn't remember anything about his wife and child. Once his memory came back you can see the guilt he felt for his actions and for hurting the heroine and his son for those 10 years.

I really like the concept of his disgust at realizing that he is a member of MC, his preconceived ideas about a club and his fight to get away from it AND then finally changing his mind after seeing them up close.

I don't know why reviewers are calling his wife without backbone. Whats the saying "...in sickness and death..." He was sick and she stood by while she watched him spiral out of control despite her support. She loved him throughout that ordeal. IMO She was given bad advise from his doctor when first he lost his memory. She should have been able to push him to remember but because of that bad advise her hands were tied. Even then she tried for two years and even after when he left them, she followed him and kept track of him. She reached out to him when she really needed him in the end. How could hero go/ looked for to her when he didnt even remember her and the child he left behind. For a moment it was kind of funny and I had to stop rolling my eyes when he woke up after his surgery and realized that now he had lost last 12 years of his life instead of last time when he had lost 5 years. This constant fear that he will forget all these people and the incidences in his life touched me and seemed really realistic.

I liked the over all club members and their interactions. There were times when it felt like I was reading some therapy session when the members were talking to each other lol.

I did find the story a bit boring and dragged out a bit so skipped a few pages here and there. Basically there are two couple in this story. I just didnt get any feels from the other couple.

Devil’s Spawn is the 6th book in the Colorado Chapter of Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Devils MC series. Having really settled into this series by now, the characters and setting are starting to feel really familiar and safe which helps a lot with what is quite a dark book.
The story focuses on two women who have both been through a lot, and have a difficult path ahead of them. Both Vanna and Shayla also have a teenager they are looking after, and Esme and Cas have their own traumas and demons to overcome. In an uncharacteristic turn of events, Mace ends up taking all four in, offering them the protection and support of the Satan’s Devils. This allows him, and us, to learn more about what they have been through and help them to safely move forwards.
I think that the familiarity of the Satan’s Devils at this stage gives a lot to this story, so it’s definitely worth coming at this book from having read at least some of the other Colorado Chapter books. The characters, and the compound where they live, feel safe and as the reader I felt relieved when vulnerable characters were with them.
Something I found particularly poignant about this book was the approach to PTSD. The intertwining storylines give voice to characters who have experienced very different Traumas – military, childhood, sexual. All are treated respectfully and sensitively. Characters are able to relate to and help each other, which is really powerful.
For me, this is a five-star book. I’m really enjoying this series, and this one stood out as one that really engaged me emotionally. I hadn’t read any MC books before this series and it’s really got me hooked, so I’d recommend it even if you don’t think it’s really your thing. It’s worth starting either at the beginning of the Colorado Chapter or the main Satan’s Devils MC series to get to know the characters and their backgrounds.

Having already read books in the Satan’s Devils MC series I was looking forward to this latest one and was not disappointed. Although it’s part of a series and does mention characters from previous books it also works as a standalone read, for me though I like how Mellett continues the stories of previous characters and gives us an update on them through out her MC series.
Devil’s Spawn, focuses on patched in member Lizard ‘Liz’ and his wife and ‘old lady’ Vanna. Sadly Lizard was injured whilst serving as a marine and suffered a brain injury which left him unable to remember Vanna or his son Cal. Now fourteen Cal is playing up and has nightmares remembering when his dad shouted at him that “he’s not my kid”, at her wits end Vanna searches for her husband and finds him as a member of Satan’s Devils. As she has his name tattooed on her back, a sign of her belonging to Liz in the MC world, the rest of the MC step in to help especially as even after ten years Liz has no memory of his family.
Another MC member Mace becomes involved with Shayla when she walks into the tattoo shop the Satan’s Devils run wanting a ‘property patch’ removed from her back but in the MC world having a property patch means something, so removing one is unheard off. When the MC look into it and find that she may not have been tattooed willingly and that Major is a danger to Shayla and her child they step into help her. Even though she is scared of MC members Shayla can’t help but feel the chemistry between herself and Mace.
This is a fast paced action packed read full of great characters and steamy sex scenes. I was hooked from page one and was instantly immersed in the world of the Satan’s Devils by Mellett’s descriptive writing. I’m now impatiently waiting for the next book in the series.

Devil's Spawn (Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #6)
by Manda Mellett
5 out of 5 stars

I have read quite a few books by Ms. Mellett and I have loved them from the beginning her books just get better and better. The characters are strong and well written. The plot was awesome we even get to see the other couples that we met in the first few books.
While serving as a Marine, Vanna’s husband Mace survived an explosion that took out the transport he was travelling in. He lived but suffered a traumatic brain injury which wiped his memory. What do you do when your husband doesn’t recognize you or his young son? What if living together is doing neither of you any favors? After two years of trying and they still weren’t more than strangers, I accepted defeat and we parted.
Now our son, Cas has grown into an unruly teenager, getting into trouble and
needing a father’s guiding hand. Vann is at her wits’ end, so she set out to find his dad, hoping after all these years, he might have his memory back, or at least, be persuaded to play some part in the life of the son he didn’t accept he had.
Mace is a confirmed bachelor, so when Lizard told him about a girl wanting her ‘Property of’ tat removed. Putting a patch on someone has meaning in our world. Before they cover it up, they need to discover who had claimed her as theirs.
But when they found out who’d put their name on her back, he was one of the first to offer his protection to her, and the kid she brought along with her.
Will mace step up to the plate and help with Cas? Will Mace & Vanna have a second chance for a happily ever after? You will need to read this great story.

This book has a couple of storylines that are taking place simultaneously. Although they are separate, they are intertwined and connected to make a larger story. As a fan of the previous Satan’s Devils MC books, this book delved deeper into their lives and provided the stories for some of the characters that I have enjoyed from previous books.

This book focuses on Lizard and Mace. Both are members of the MC that we have met in previous books. Like in previous books, we are introduced to new characters that will turn the lives of these men upside down. Both Lizard and Mace are die-hard bachelors that enjoy the freedom to spend evenings with the sweet butts, sometimes even sharing the sweet butts between themselves. However, Lizard has a past that refuses to let him go and Mace meets a woman who deserves more than the one night he usually gives civilian women.

Vanna and Shayla are new characters in this book…and they are both extremely strong characters. They have been dealt crappy hands in life and have done what they needed to do in order to survive and keep moving forward. I found myself enjoying both of them and wanted them to get the happiness they have earned.

This is one of those series that just gets better as it goes forward. We are constantly getting to learn more about the members of the MC, with characters from the past making appearances in every book. I am invested in these characters and am looking forward to future books. And that epilogue…I need to know more about those characters ASAP!

Vanna has struggled for a long time to deal with the crappy hand fate has dealt her. When her husband becomes injured, it wipes his mind of all that he has known, including his wife and child. She has had to stay strong for so long and is determined to make Liz see the light in one way or another. She needs help with their son, and she needs him to step up and be a parent, no matter the cost. Their second chance story was soooooooo emotionally charged. I couldn't imagine having to deal with the heartache they both lived through. My heart hurt the most for Cas as he was just a kid who had so many bottled up emotions that he wasn’t sure what to do with. Being a kid in a hard situation is never easy.

With this story, you get a parallel story with Mace and Shayla. Shayla is running from something and someone fast. She’s been through the wringer and has no intention of stopping until its safe. That’s until she meets Mace when she goes to get her ink covered up. They don’t just cover it for anything, that kind of ink in their world means something. Through some talking and understanding, Mace convinces her that they can help Her. She’s not ready to take on anything more than figuring out to keep safe, but she does for Esme’s sake. My heart hurt for Shayla as having gone through heavy stuff like hers, I understood her instincts.

I commend the author for taking some very raw, real and hard subjects such as PTSD and bringing them to the forefront. It brings awareness and understands that is so needed in this world. Both stories were beautifully moving.

This is another book I’m reading from this author and I’m beginning to enjoy not only the series but the way the author keeps all the stories connected. I enjoy the way the stories are told because it’s suspenseful, loving, mysterious, and intriguing. This book was quite the page-turner because what I love about this author is everything chapter after chapter is connected which is great for anybody a sucker (like I am) for a series. This book most definitely pulled at my heartstrings because you feel for the best for everyone involved. Your heart is torn for Vanna who had to go on with life as a single mother even though her husband was alive but his memory was erased following as a Marine. Vanna is a hell of a woman and your heart aches for her as she attempts to reconnect her family through the memory of her husband who has to re-meet the couple’s son.
Cas, the couple’s son, has become an unruly teenager who needs a father’s guidance. Lizard, Cas’ dad, has been absent in his son’s life but is about to be more present as this story develops. Lizard is about to discover his past as he’s covering a tattoo for a client.
The author wrote this in a way that’s tragic but not in the way you’d think. You’re drawn to the characters but not for the obvious reasons and yet you hope they reconnect. Full of twists and turns and is unpredictable in the best way. This series led to a beautiful ending that the reader wasn’t expecting. I loved this book and can’t say that enough!

Devil’s Spawn (Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #6)
By Manda Mellett
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Devil’s Spawn (Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #6) by Manda Mellett. It is the next exciting story in a series that I have loved reading since the first book. The story includes suspense, danger, and romance. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Vanna and Mace. Vanna is a strong, independent woman. She has had to be as it has fallen to her to raise her son when her husband’s brain injury caused him memory loss, unable to remember either of them. Now she is wanting to get Cas, her son, help as he is going down the wrong path. Will her husband still not remember her and his son? Mace is a man who doesn’t feel the need to settle down. He is fine being a bachelor. Why does he feel the need to protect the girl who has come to them for help in removing a tattoo? What does the future hold for Vanna? What does it hold for Mace and the Colorado Chapter of Satan’s Devils? Read this book to find out. This story had me on the edge of my seat and turning pages to find out what is going to happen next. I love the characters that are new and enjoy reading about the ones from the previous books. This series just keeps getting better with each story I read. Don’t miss out on this story and series. Highly recommended.

Devil’s Spawn is the 6th book in the amazing Satan’s Devils MC: Colorado Chapter series by Manda Mellett. The more I read of the Satan’s Devils books, the more I fall in love with Manda Mellett’s writing. I have absolutely adored everyone that I’ve read so far and this time was no different. This book was amazing. I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could.
In Devil’s Spawn you even get 2 for the price of 1. You not only get Lizard’s story, you also get Mace’s. Both of these stories will totally grab your heart and not let go of it. Lizard’s is a second chance romance with a difference. I’m not giving any spoilers but you will love it. Mace is a different character altogether. At the start of the previous book Ink’s Devil I really did not like Mace but he redeemed himself later in the book. In this book we see a totally different side to Mace and I just loved him.
As always with the Satan’s Devils book you get a great romance story and hot and steamy sex. But added to this there is always a powerful storyline running through the book filled with danger, despair, heartbreak and every other emotion you can think of.
I really cannot get across in words just how much I loved this book. Yet again Manda Mellett has given us another cracker that I’ll enjoy reading again. 100% recommend!
