Summer Vacation Murder

Rate this book
Escape to the sun-kissed Aerie Islands, where reporter Roland "Beanie" Bean has planned the perfect family vacation. But as the ocean breeze whispers through the palm trees, danger lurks in the shadows, and Beanie finds himself entangled in a chilling cozy mystery that will have you gripping the edge of your beach chair.

On an idyllic drive to a picturesque sandbar, Beanie's family vacation takes a sharp turn when a swerving car nearly runs them off the road. Moments later, they discover the car abandoned, crashed into the jungle brush. Down a rocky cliff, Beanie spots a nervous trio on the beach who quickly flee the scene. But the real shock comes when a bloodied young man—none other than a lifeguard from their resort—stumbles towards Beanie and collapses at his feet.

Beanie's former intern, Joshua, now a fledgling reporter for the Aerie Observer, arrives on the scene to cover the car crash. But the plot thickens when it's revealed that the lifeguard didn't die from the accident—he was poisoned by lethal snake venom. With a reluctant Beanie by his side, the dynamic duo dives into a treacherous investigation to uncover the truth behind the deadly mystery.

As they peel back the layers of the lifeguard's shadowy past, Beanie and Joshua find themselves tangled in a sinister web of secrets that stretches throughout the resort staff. Could the culprit be a fellow employee with a dark motive? Or perhaps the lifeguard's vengeful ex-girlfriend, a zoo worker with access to venomous serpents?

In Summer Vacation Murder, Beanie and Joshua race against the clock to unravel a tapestry of clues and red herrings that lead them deeper into danger.

This charming cozy mystery will keep you guessing with twists and turns that lead to an unforgettable conclusion. Will Beanie and Joshua crack the case before they become the next victims of a devious killer?

summer mystery murder

Beanie and his family are on a much deserved vacation but things turn bad fast. Can he solve a murder at their hotel or will him and his family be next? Sketchy lifeguards, spouses cheating. Car chases and crashes, poison, infidelity. This book was a fast read and I gave it 4 stars because I feel I could have used more at the ending. It just wasn’t what I expected.

Appropriately named story. Roland Bean aka Beanie and his family get a “bonus” vacation at a wealthy, elite resort known as “Aerie Islands Spa Club”. His wife and kids are loving it but, Beanie is trying to relax into mingling with the overly rich and famous. He and his wife witness a drunk patron, Fred, accost a lifeguard, Pablo, about flirting with his wife…and more. Pablo dies from a car crash, people think, a couple of days later. The truth comes out that he died of poison and another lifeguard, Marcus, is accused of murder. Beanie is dragged into the investigation by his former assistant intern, Joshua. The characters are wonderfully described, clues are generously scattered and the plot snatches you up and keeps churning until the end. This is a terrific, satisfying read.

Roland Beane is on vacation with his wife and kids. On the drive to a sandbar an erratic car nearly hits them and then they see it off the road ahead. They stop and Roland has a man collapse in his arms. Did the man die from drinking or is it more sinister? Joshua, a previous intern for Roland is reporting on the case and wants Roland’s help. Between the two of them they investigate the case, uncovering multiple motives for wanting the man dead. Can they crack the case before somebody else dies?

This one was a really good read!! Lots and lots of twists and turns. The only thing I’m not impressed with is Noelle. She kinda irritates me. I wish she was a more likable character. Nonetheless this story was excellent! Happy Reading :)
