Effective music production can be a challenge. This is where The Music Producer's Guide comes in. Each book is designed to demystify a music production concept, bringing professional results to your tracks.
In The Music Producer's Guide to Polymeter and Polyrhythm, you will
⦁ The music theory that underpins the Western system of meter. ⦁ The simple mathematics that govern polymeter and polyrhythm. ⦁ Easy techniques to create polymeters and polyrhythms in your DAW software. ⦁ How to use polymeter and polyrhythm to great effect in your music.
If you're stuck in a rhythmic rut, The Music Producer’s Guide to Polymeter and Polyrhythm will help you break out of it.
Designed particularly with electronic music producers in mind, this book will provide you with the knowledge and skills to apply these effective, yet underutilised techniques to your own work.
The book was extremely introductory. It can be used by people who can't read traditional music notation, but you will get a lot more from the book if you've used a DAW such as Ableton Live or Logic Pro. There are screen shots of sessions from these DAWs but they are low resolution and hard to make out, and there is little technical help on how to implement the ideas, but the ideas themselves are interesting. The author is coming from the world of electronic music, whereas I had encountered these ideas in prog-rock and metal, so it was interesting to see the ideas in a different context.
