The Fatal Couple, by Julie Bergman. Oh my gosh what an awesome, mind bending and suspenseful book. Mac and Hudson were phenomenal. All the twist and turns in the BDSM and military world was salacious. How could so much crazy, psychotic episodes and killings just keep going and get better as the book progresses?! I have to give the writer so much credit for her talented capabilities, for bringing the readers such a fascinating, mind blowing book. I was hanging on to the last sentence to each of the chapters. It was so easy for me to read the story. The writer did a wonderful job with describing the characters and how their incorporated in the book. The dialogue among the characters was great. It was like the characters were there to contribute their knowledge to the story, while staying on point with the topics of the story. For me it was so easy to read the characters dialogue, mainly because their dialogue was so realistic. Let’s talk about the narrative of the story. The writer provided the book with so many facts that had entail from the military prospective as well as the FBI prospective. Bringing that much information to the story pushed the book to a level that I think made the book even better. I absolutely love Mac’s character. Her character held such a strong presence in the book. I loved her confidence and her ability to keep it together during times where she had to rely on her intelligence, and her training. Mac’s character is simply getting better in each book. I am so much looking for the next book. I give this book two snaps and a, Hey Hudson… strip down I need to give you a thorough pat down. That’s an order from your Dominatrix. Until next time m fellow readers… read on!
A definite improvement over the first book (The Fatal Creation)
It's easy to see Me Bergman's growth as an author. The writing has greatly improved, substituting compound and complex sentences for the extremely simple. She still needs better proofreading/ editing for grammatic rules. She frequently uses pronouns that do not refer back to the most recent person/noun and fails to use commas to separate descriptors or thoughts. That being said, the story reads a lot smoother with better developed characters. This is a short mildly entertaining read that gives me great hope for her future books.
Oh my what a story! Who is killing all these people? Bodies are being found and Mac is called in to be part of the team hunting for the killers. But there is no clues on who the killers are. Part of the story is told from the view of Mac and her boyfriend Hudson. The other point of view is the killers. I found the book absorbing. I was anxious to see how the two points of view would merge. This is the second book of this series that I have read. I really like the continuing story and look forward to the next book.
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
The book is a thrilling suspenseful novel with a mix of military romance, crime, and danger. The plot revolves around an Air Force Defense Investigator named Mac who teams up with the FBI and local police to catch a serial killer couple. The book has twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of their seat.
The Fatal Couple by Julie Bergman is the second book in her Sergeant Evelyn "Mac" McGregor Thriller series and it does not disappoint. It's so good to read a female main character who is not only awesome, but also relatable. This book is even more thrilling and twisty that the first, so go out and get both books, you will be glad you did.
The Fatal Couple is a gripping suspense novel that kept me on the edge of my seat! Sergeant Mac McGregor is a compelling protagonist, and the twists are both shocking and satisfying. The pacing is perfect, making it hard to put down. I highly recommend it for thriller lovers!
Well I stayed up most of the night to finish it because I couldn't put it down. To me it's the perfect book. A good story that doesn't drag and also holds my interest. Likable characters. And a good ending. I can't wait to read book 3.
The characters are great, the plot is good, and the story is OK, especially the ending. The problems are all the jumping around in time and places, and a lot of unnecessary descriptions. The life story of people who find a corpse isn't that interesting.
Oh my word-the ending! Overall I enjoyed this book. At 1st I wasn't sure how it was connected to The Fatal Creation, but I realized it was a "Mac book" vs an actual sequal. Once again I was surprised by the characters & would recommend this to book to others
The author does an excellent job of setting the scene and it has an engaging characters! You won’t be disappointed by the twists and turns that await in this thrilling read! Love it!
