Hendrix Bateman is one of The Lucky Three, a trio of players who were not on the Titan’s team plane the night it crashed. Feeling as if he’s been given a second chance, Hendrix is determined to make the most out of his life, but that doesn’t mean he’s not suffering from scars that can’t be seen.
When I lost my Titan brothers in the crash, it was a mixed bag of emotions. I was devastated and grief stricken, but I was also grateful to be alive. Yeah, that might cause a little—okay, a lot of—guilt, but now I’m determined to live each day as if it’s my last.
A night out with friends puts me in the crosshairs of Stevie Kisner—the devastatingly beautiful bar owner with a sharp tongue and a fire in her eyes that lets me know she has zero tolerance for guys like me. I’ve never been one to back away from a challenge, so I’m not dissuaded by Stevie’s tough as nails attitude or her big biker dad who looks like he wants to kill me. Fueled by too many shots and the raucous urging of my teammates, I set out to show Stevie I’ve got game both on and off the ice.
While I shouldn’t be looking for anything more than a good time, I can’t help but be captivated by Stevie. She’s cool as hell and we burn hot together. But the more I get to know her, the more I can tell she’s holding something in reserve, and let’s just say I’ve got some trust issues after my last disastrous attempt at a relationship. Now I need to decide if I’m going to let my past dictate my future or if I am willing to put my heart on the line to find out if Stevie is exactly what I think she is—my everything.

Hendrix Bateman plays professional hockey for the Pittsburgh Titans, and is one of the lucky three that wasn't on the team's plane the night it crashed. He feels like he's been given a second chance, and isn't going to waste it. He's ready to live his best life and not take anything for granted. One evening when he's out with his friends he crosses paths with a sexy, confident woman named Stevie Kisner. She's stunningly beautiful and he's instantly intrigued and wants to know her. She challenges him at every turn, but he's persistent and is prepared to take his shot and fight for his chance with the feisty bar owner.
Stevie Kisner stays busy with work, and doesn't have a lot of time for a social life or dating. Then her best friend Harlow brings in some famous hockey stars to her bar one night. As one gorgeous hockey player shamelessly flirts and tries to get her attention, she can't help thinking they wouldn't be well suited. He looks like a preppy, pretty boy compared to her biker babe look. They live completely different lives, but she can't deny there's just something about Hendrix that leaves her wanting more. He's gorgeous, but thers's also a connection she can't explain. Will she give him a chance to show her how good they can be together, and take a chance on love?
Hendrix (Pittsburgh Titans, #7) by Sawyer Bennett is an opposites attract, sports romance told in dual POV. It's full of emotion, sizzling chemistry and amazing banter. I really enjoyed this couple's journey and love this series and this world! <333
This series keeps getting better and better. This book had the perfect amount of story mixed with some really hot scenes. I loved hockey star Hendrix and bar owner Steve's relationship and how they bonded over pain from their pasts. They may have looked like opposites on the surface but connected down to their souls. Of course no couple just sails through perfectly in these romances, so I was bracing myself for some bad times to come. And they did, and the fallout was heartbreaking and made me cry for both of them. Up until then, Hendrix was perfect boyfriend material, and I was a little peeved at him for not hearing Stevie out over a betrayal that affected her as well as him. Kudos to Sawyer Bennett for making me care so much about these characters that I was thinking about ways to fix their relationship. It was also nice to see and hear from characters from previous books and be introduced to characters who will be getting their own stories. I think SB has hit her stride with the Titans series, and I can't wait for more!
Hendrix Bateman, one of a trio of players who miraculously survived a plane crash that claimed the lives of their Titan teammates is determined to make the most of his second chance at life. He finds himself captivated by Stevie Kisner, a bar owner with a fiery personality and a no-nonsense attitude. As their relationship heats up, both Hendrix and Stevie must confront their personal demons and decide whether they are willing to take a chance on love.
From the start, the chemistry between Hendrix and Stevie is palpable. The author does an excellent job of creating steamy and passionate scenes that leave readers eagerly turning the pages. Their banter is entertaining, adding a lighthearted touch to the story and showcasing their undeniable connection. The fast pace of their relationship keeps the plot engaging, making it a quick and enjoyable read.
However, as the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that Stevie has her fair share of issues. While she initially presents herself as tough and independent, her moments of naivety and her susceptibility to manipulation made it difficult to fully connect with her as a character. Despite this, Stevie's underlying goodness shines through.
Bennett's ability to create palpable chemistry and intimate moments between Hendrix and Stevie is divine. I was thoroughly captivated by the romance and the growth of the characters, particularly Hendrix. And even though the plot twist was foreseeable, Sawyer Bennett never fails to deliver a solid narrative that flows smoothly, keeping me engaged.
Hendrix is a steamy sports romance that offers great banter, chemistry, and fast-paced romance. Sawyer Bennett's writing style and ability to craft compelling stories shine through. Fans of the series and genre will find enjoyment in the passionate love story and the journey of self-discovery undertaken by the main characters.
★ I received an ARC of this title from the author. The excerpts are from that copy. I am voluntarily reviewing this title. ★See all my book edits on Instagram
I loved this series but not this book. The mom and her issues were in it for waaaaaaay too long and it made me not want to continue honestly. I knew what was coming since the beginning with the constant journal references sadly and wasn’t looking forward to when it went to crap. I struggled to get through it so I’m hoping the next is better. 2.5 stars.
This was the worst of the series. The author is obviously phoning it in at this point: the “dirty talk” Stevie & Hendrix engage in is SO cringe. It’s really uninspired. There are repetitive paragraphs where the author says the same thing in a slightly different way, which becomes frustrating to me. I think it’s because she’s done well enough in previous books to engage the reader with raw emotions and a believable depiction of the progression of romantic relationships. Here it falls flat. I’m pretty sure I’m done with this series.
Book #7 in the Pittsburgh Titans series, this is a sweet and sexy romance with minimal drama, and a happy ending for another Titans player.
Hendrix and Stevie meet when the Pittsburgh Titans are doing an event at her bar. Hendrix is smitten at first sight by the feisty bar owner, and though she is initially reluctant, he convinces her to give him a shot.
It’s a simple story. I liked both Hendrix and Stevie - he's a good guy, she's got a bit of emotional baggage - and their relationship is fast moving and functional, sexy and romantic. There’s really not that much that happens in the story apart for some last-minute drama stemming from their pasts which is predictable but engaging. It’s resolved well, and I enjoyed seeing these two get their HEA.
This one has been my least favorite in the series. I had to force myself to finish if I am being honest. I didn't really like either of these characters and the narrators...weren't it for me for this particular story. Fell flat for me.
This story follows Hendrix Bateman, one of a trio of players who miraculously survived a plane crash that claimed the lives of their Titan teammates is determined to make the most of his second chance at life. He finds himself captivated by Stevie Kisner, a bar owner with a fiery personality and a no-nonsense attitude. As their relationship heats up, both Hendrix and Stevie must confront their personal demons and decide whether they are willing to take a chance on love.
I think the biggest ick I had was that Hendrix broke up with his current girlfriend and then immediately threw his shot at Stevie. Stevie also being so easily manipulated by her mom did feel realistic to me. This story did not have the same angst or emotion as some of the previous ones. I hope this isn't an indication of where this series is going....
Overall: 2 Spice: 2.5
Tropes: - Hockey Romance - Opposites Attract - Broken FMC
It was like watching a train crashing in slow motion. I dnf-ed it, i didnt need to see it, but then i went back many months later, to just get it over with, and it did indeed crash
We've met Hendrix in the previous Titans books as he is one of the 3 (lucky 3) that survived the plane crash. Hendrix meets Stevie in a bar that she owns and sparks fly. Both of them have past issues they need to overcome. Still an emotional powerful read and I just love the characters as I really feel them treat each other as family.
Narrators CJ Bloom and Tor Thom did a great job.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
This was fine. It didn’t focus as much on the plane crash, which was a needed change from others in the series. It became horribly predictable the second it was mentioned that she kept a journal, so for the last 2/3 of the book, it just became waiting for that to fuck her over. Also, it seems crazy there was so much mentioning that the female lead was named after Stevie Nicks, but not a single mention of the male lead being named Hendrix??
Prepare to be swept away by the irresistible allure of "Hendrix," an enchanting sports romance that masterfully combines sparkling banter, sizzling chemistry, and an exhilarating whirlwind of love. With her signature writing style and storytelling finesse, Sawyer Bennett crafts a tale that will captivate both avid fans of the series and enthusiasts of the genre at large. This a book you will get lost in the pages.
Right from their initial encounter, the electric chemistry between Hendrix and Stevie jumps off the page. The author balances the steamy and passionate scenes that leave us readers desperate for more. Their banter is both entertaining and endearing, injecting a lighthearted touch into the story while underscoring their undeniable bond. The rapid pace at which their relationship evolves keeps the plot gripping, ensuring a quick and satisfying read.
The time Stevie and Hendrix spend together Stevie's flaws and vulnerabilities come to light. While she exudes strength and independence, her occasional moments of naivety show just how big she loves. It also is at times to her own detriment.
Get ready to be spellbound by the magic of "Hendrix."
I did listen to the audiobook narrated by Tor Thom and CJ Bloom. They did a great job narrating. The deep timbers of Tor's voice balanced naturally with the cadence of CJ Bloom's voice.
I have a girl crush on Stevie. She's one of the very few women in books that I have read that I would actually picture myself being friends with in real life. There was instant attraction between Hendrix and Stevie and the more they got to know about one another the more they fell for the other. But you know there is always a bit of angst and this story is no different, luckily it didn't last too long because I really enjoyed Hendrix and Stevie together.
This one was interesting, I really didn't think Hendrix and Stevie would work, especially how they met, but they did. They both really appreciated each other and were able to share things. The sad thing is that Stevie didn't share one important thing that could have probably stopped the big blow up towards the end of the book. I knew that would be coming and it went down just how I thought it would. I hated all that Stevie learned, while also glad that in the aftermath she was done with one person. I was glad that she was able to do what Hendrix couldn't and listen, it made it so the ending was perfect for them!
You know I did not think this series could get any better but as usual I was proven wrong❣️ I also didn’t think I could like a couple as much as Drake and Brienne…but again I was proven wrong…and gladly too😊
Hendrix and Stevie are a unique combination of opposites in almost every way. She’s biker chic and he’s sports professional 🏒 but their chemistry is off the charts and the emotional depth and backgrounds to both make this couple that much more special😍
The direction these books are taking is extremely exciting and knowing Camden is next, has me wanting more now🤩 Loved it and a definite must read story.
Got this book as an ARC. Hendrix and Stevie…. One of the original 3 members of Titian, he has had a lot of heartbreak in his life. Stevie is a badass bar owner who takes no crap. Hendrix works hard to woo Stevie after kicking his ex to the curb. Due to her abandoned mother issues, Stevie has her walls up, but Hendrix works hard to take them down. Stevie is girl crush material in this book! My only wish was more of a connection with Hendrix in this book. In terms of his character, he was very surface level.
Hendrix Bateman embarks on a journey of self-discovery and love. After surviving the devastating plane crash that claimed the lives of his Titan teammates, Hendrix feels a complex mix of emotions. While he mourns the loss and experiences deep grief, he also carries a profound sense of gratitude for being given a second chance at life.
When Hendrix crosses paths with Stevie Kisner, a captivating bar owner known for her sharp tongue and fierce demeanour, he sees it as an opportunity to prove himself. Undeterred by Stevie's challenging nature or her intimidating biker father, Hendrix decides to demonstrate his worth both on and off the ice. Fuelled by the encouragement of his teammates and a few too many drinks, he sets out to win Stevie's attention and affection.
What begins as a quest for a good time soon evolves into something deeper for Hendrix. He finds himself irresistibly drawn to Stevie's cool and enigmatic persona; their connection burning intensely. Yet, as their relationship develops, Hendrix realises that Stevie is holding back, triggering his own trust issues born from a past failed romance. Now, he must confront his own reservations and decide whether to let his past dictate his future or take a leap of faith in order to pursue the possibility of true love.
Sawyer once again skillfully explores themes of grief, guilt, resilience, and the pursuit of love after surviving a traumatic event, all wrapped around the unique hockey universe she has created.
I swear with every Pittsburgh Titans book, I fall more and more in love with every character in this series!
This is the series where you get to see past characters and get little updates on their lives all while falling in love with the current main characters!
Hendrix was so perfect for the mood I was in! I loved his character and Stevie reminded me a lot of myself!
I loved their story and how they fell for each other!
I really enjoyed Hendrix and Stevie's story. I just love the vibe of these two and really enjoyed their relationship growing. Their chemistry is fantastic, and they are such a good match. Both of them have such good hearts, and I love seeing that with others. Stevie and her dad, in particular, have such a sweet bond. Stevie and her mom however is so tough, and I felt for Stevie so much. I loved their story a lot and it was such a fun read! *I chose to review an early copy*
*I received a free copy of Hendrix. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*
I loved how Hendrix had to get back to the basics of who he was as a man to have the slightest chance with Stevie! She knew very well what she didn't want, and he did seem like he might be that - but in some ways, he was also very far from that. Chemistry had a lot to do with how she felt for him from the get-go, however, she still totally made him work for it, and I loved that!
Stevie and her father were best friends, and it made me so happy to read about their relationship. It is important to see that girls can grow up with just their dad, and that they can be best friends when the girl is a grown-up. Even if she is a grown-up, her dad is on board with helping her take care of anything she might need help with, but he will still let her be independent and strong.
Hendrix needed to decide what he wanted for his future, and when he finally got smart enough to truly listen, the possibility of forever became very strong.
Fast paced romance between hockey player Hendrix and biker bar owner Stevie who is only tough on the outside. Both likeable characters with a conflict that you can see coming from a million miles away. And then resolved. Done (better than some of the other stories in this series).
Warum also nur 3 Sterne?
Hendrix Bateman was considered one of The Lucky Three, among the trio of players that were not with the team when the plane crashed. Hendrix was possibly the most well-adjusted of the three and was grateful for his good fortune and second chance. After ending a bad relationship that had run its course, an encounter with a feisty bartender had Hendrix ready to take a chance again.
Bar-owner Stevie was tough as nails and could handle her own with her sometimes raucous clientele, but being abandoned by her mother as a child had left its mark. Desperate for a connection with her mother, Stevie allowed herself to be manipulated by her time and time again.
Hendrix was an absolute sweetheart and so supportive of Stevie. Unfortunately, Stevie’s continued need to forge a relationship with her mother created a lot of drama and came close to ruining her relationship with Hendrix. As usual with this series, the camaraderie among the teammates is always a highlight for me, and it was great to see Stevie pulled into the fold of the Titans family.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 We finally get Hendrix's story! I’m pretty sure throughout this series we always were curious why he was with Tracy. The sweetest good guy with the one girl who doesn’t deserve him.
Hendrix finally realizes the relationship is just not working no matter how much he puts into it. It’s all one-sided. On a night out with friends, he meets Stevie, opposite of anyone he’s ever dated and the curiosity has his mind running.
Stevie raised by her single dad, strong and independent still has her abandonment issues which get the best of her at times, when trying to rebuild a relationship with her mom.
This story is a mix of building trust, love, and friendship.
I really enjoyed Hendrix & Stevie. She is a take charge woman that you want to be friends with and he is so dreamy… The conflict irritated me a little and Stevie’s mother is a terrible person. The cameos from Coen & Stone were some of my favorite parts.

Mary – ☆☆☆☆☆ Having read the others in this series, I knew a little about Hendrix Bateman; he is one of the three lucky ones who were not on the Titans’ plane when it crashed. But is it luck being left behind, to grieve the loss and feel grateful to be alive? He will not take life for granted ever again; he will live life to the fullest.
Stevie Kisner owns her grandfather's bar that he left to her. She is a strong, independent woman who was raised by her biker father after her mother left, and she takes no crap from anyone.
When some of the team shows up at Stevie's bar, Hendrix notices Stevie and wants to talk to her, but she doesn't have time for guys like him, a player. Hendrix sees that as a challenge and wants to play her at a game of pool, if he wins, she has to talk to him for 10 minutes.
Needless to say, that 10-minute conversation was something that started a great relationship. Stevie and Hendrix are the perfect couple, even her dad kinda likes him. Until her mother comes into the picture and things go south. Will Hendrix be able to listen to reason and talk to Stevie? Can Stevie forgive him for his hotheaded comments?
This story is great and the whole team is there to support Hendrix. and to laugh at him too. I love this series and each new book that comes out is my favorite; oh well, I guess the series is my favorite. Can't wait for Camden Poe's story, he is the last of The Lucky Three.
Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆☆ 4.5 stars M/F Romance Triggers: Hidden because they may contain spoilers.
Hendrix is a character who we've seen throughout this series. He's one of the original team members. While he does have some guilt around that, his teammates have helped him come to terms with it.
When Hendrix meets sexy, strong bar owner Stevie, he's immediately intrigued. He can't help but be drawn to a woman who can stand her own between two brawling drunks. Hendrix immediately wants to protect her.
I liked that the relationship between these two was not an instant love. Stevie doesn't trust easily and with her past, you understand why. Hendrix too has to overcome some past traumas and Stevie is able to do that.
When their relationship hits the rocks a little, I love that Stevie's dad and bar friends all come to support her. She's their person and they'll fight for her. Hendrix will have to man up, toughen up, and really show his vulnerability to show Stevie that he's a changed person.
I do hope that Stevie's dad gets at least a short side book. He's a character and I would love to hear more of his story.
Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆ This is the seventh book in the series – and I would say you should read them in order to get a full understanding of the story, the in-jokes, and the previous relationship vibes, but it is a good story as a standalone too.
The Lucky Three who survived the plane crash have all had very different experiences of the event, and I have found it really clever how their stories have played out. Hendrix has definitely been the calmest outwardly, and it was just as engaging to read how he dealt with the loss, the grief, and the guilt, as it was sad to read of the other two going off the rails.
His chance meeting with Stevie, feisty bar owner with a take no prisoners style and a fabulous sense of humour, gives him ideas of a possible long-term future. For now, though, getting her attention is already a challenge, even when their chemistry envelopes them. Stevie has serious issues about getting involved after her mum abandoned her as a toddler.
Back in town now, her mum is seemingly making an effort to get to know her, but as the story unfolds we get to understand that is not a good thing. I did think that the impending disaster moments were written really well, as I was cringing as Stevie did all the things you probably shouldn't, but I did trust that there would be a twist to resolve it somehow.
A fun read with lots of catching up with previous relationships, and it is always good to see the team doing well and in a healthier place!
Mary Jo – ☆☆☆☆ The way that Hendrix's story deals with the plane accident that took the lives of his teammates is unique compared to the those of the other "Lucky Three." Hendrix has handled his grief in a healthy way compared to his teammates. He's had counseling and processed his anger and grief over the death of his friends. Still, though, something is missing in his life. In the beginning of the book, the reader can tell that he's trying to make a relationship work only because he doesn't want to fail – to be considered a failure.
Stevie, on the other hand, is constantly battling her demons in the form of her toxic mother and the relationship she is trying to build with her. Her father has told her that he will support any decision she makes regarding this relationship but knows in his heart it will only lead to heartbreak.
The chemistry between Stevie and Hendrix is palpable and it jumps off the page (e-reader screen). They actually take the time to get to know each other by having long conversations about the difficult times in their lives.
What should be happy time in her life, Stevie's mother can't help but thrust her problems into Stevie's lap. As Stevie tries her best to solve her mother's problems, she inadvertently hurts the man she has come to love.
Hendrix has been hurt before, but this heartbreak is about to do him in. Being stubborn, Hendrix refuses to let Stevie explain, only causing himself more heartache.
This book is set in the Pittsburgh Titans universe and every book in this series has been one that I haven't been able to put down.
