The Santa Swap

Rate this book
A dreamy first date. A romantic kiss in the moonlight. All the makings of a good boyfriend . . . except he's her boss.

Olivia Barton is tired of fickle men. A chance encounter with a handsome stranger ends in an unforgettable kiss. The butterflies last until the next morning when she walks into her new job and finds him running a meeting. She may be the kind of woman who accepts a date with a stranger, but there is no way she’s going to become the center of office gossip by dating her boss.

Luke Stringer is tired of women who are only after him for his money. When he meets Olivia outside her apartment building, he introduces himself with the first name that pops into his mind. Unfortunately, it isn’t his. He never expects her to catch him in the lie, but it is difficult to hide who he is when she starts working for his company. He’d do anything to make things right with the woman who captured his heart, but now she won’t give him the time of day.

It will take a meddling matchmaker, a company gift exchange, and some serious Christmas magic to help Luke and Olivia find the love they deserve.

This clean and wholesome novel will leave you filled with holiday cheer.

I DNF because I didn't like how much the two MCs kissed in the first 50 pages. Their first kiss is on page 22. Then they kiss again either a chapter or two later. I am getting pickier on what I am reading and what I like.

The second kiss the couple shared made me uncomfortable. Not to mention the MMC starts the relationship with a lie.

Let's just say this book isn't for me.

Almost quit multiple times. Had to push myself through it. Maybe 1.5⭐️? I liked the Secret Santa I think, but Luke’s perpetual lying even as he claimed how much he liked Olivia… which was mostly physical attraction + a little “we have fun together”… blah. Not worth it.

Clean and Wholesome Christmas Romance
Olivia moved for the perfect job. She was not expecting the severe snowstorm the day she's trying to unload her car. After getting knocked over, she gets a hand from a handsome stranger. This guy seems different, and an impromptu date is now than she's expecting. Unfortunately, she didn't get more than his 1st name.
Luke is tired of people using him, so when he meets the beauty that falls in the snow, he gives her his best friends name. As the night goes on and they they begin to really get along, Luke feels bad, but can't really tell her his real name just yet.

Unfortunately for Luke, at Olivia's 1st day at her new job, she finds out the truth because he's the owner of the company. Not only did he lie about who he was, he's her boss, and even though the chemistry and connection are there, she refuses to be more than friends.
It'll take some Christmas matchmaking and secret Santa to bring them together.

Some things I liked about this book: a nice resolution, a sweet and clean storyline, fun Christmas activities. There were a few things that bugged me. When Olivia first arrives in Utah it's practically blizzarding, but she can still see the oranges and pinks of the sunset and a full moon. I can suspend belief for a lot of things when I read romance, but not natural science. There were just a few typos. I was annoyed with the main characters. Luke, that he thinks continually lying is the answer to his problems, and then that all his friends support him in it. And then the relationship games he and Olivia play. There's not a lot of relationship maturity going on in this book.

Stranger's to Daters

Luke and Olivia's story begins when Olivia is moving into her apartment in Utah during a snow storm. Someone knocks her down and Luke stops to help her pick up the Lego blocks that fell in the snow. He talks her into going for dinner, skating on a poand and having a snowball fight and kissing her when he walks her home. Problem, he only knows her first name and he forgot to get her phone number. Plus he lied about his name. Olivia starts her first day of work and is introduced to the president of the company (the man who helped her the night before) but not by the name he gave her. Great storyline and wonderful characters!

This is a sweet, clean read about Olivia who has recently moved to Utah from California. On her first day there, she meets Luke and unbeknownst to them, is actually her new boss. They are very attracted to each other but Luke tries to protect her from the paparazzi by inventing a relationship with his co worker and ex girlfriend. This story is told from both POV and relates how they muddle through together with the help of their co workers to reach their HEA. The book had some humour and was an enjoyable read.

I must admit, sometimes "Clean Reads" are boring

I enjoyed this book! To me sometimes no sex romance books are totally boring the main characters not even having a much of a hug and kiss just doesn't make sense, but this book was not on of those. I enjoyed it through out the entire story! Just thought it ended too soon.

Fun Christmas story

Not a great start to their relationship with Luke lying about his name and appearing to be in a relationship with someone else. However with much encouragement from friends and family they got their HEA.

Fun Read!

What a fun story of a cooperate president and new hire who meets before she starts work. He is the sensitive, but in control man who falls for the new girl. Through Christmas events in the company, they find their attraction for each other.

Delightful

Secret Santas can be fun. Everything was going smoothly until it wasn't. A cross country move, a new job and the change from a sunny climate to a cold, snowy one means lots of life adjustments. If you toss in a handsome, sexy boss then you have the making of a romance.

Ruth Pendleton is a new author to me, but I really enjoyed this story. It was a sweet and clean read. And I enjoyed getting to know all the characters and the chemistry between the main characters. I'm looking forward to reading more of Ruth's books.

Too wishy washy. Found it difficult to believe a person's job would be party planning for a company.

This was a very sweet story with no bad guys. A story without a villain just a sweet, heartwarming love story.
