This is part of the excellent Funny You Should Ask series of books that help with some of the challenges of publishing and marketing your books, based on the author’s own experience in the business.

Whether you’re an indie or traditionally published author, this guide will help you through all the things you need to do to build a website, or update your existing one. While it’s technical in places out of necessity, the advice is easy to follow. It’s delivered with humour, examples and an understanding of the challenges you face, and offers plenty of tips to make the most of your website.

As someone who already has a website, I was surprised by how many useful and practical tips I found to improve what I have. This included how to create more inviting welcome and about pages, how to boost search rankings on Google, and all manner of useful add on extras that could improve the website visibility and quality.

I don’t often get excited about websites, but this book not only helped me make some significant improvements, but gave me a better understanding of its place and importance to me in marketing myself as an author.

Without question this is the best and most useful book I’ve read on creating a website, and I’ve read quite a few.

All my clients need to read this book! In it, Lori Culwell expertly breaks down each phase of a WordPress design build, letting you know what to expect along the way. The information is empowering—she will teach you how to register everything in your own name so you maintain control over your assets if you decide to work with outside vendors. And she expertly offers advice on different decisions you will need to make along the way. Highly recommended!

I’ve read your book and printed guide. I’m ready to fill out guide. I was impressed at the half million mentioned on chapter 5. I’m wondering if I need to spend so much on Archway Publishing for my next book I have percolating on my computer. I’ll know more after I build my Website.

My second published book is:
