Andre Valinov owns a piece of me.
A piece he refuses to take.
But a deal’s a deal. One I intend to honor.
Even if I made it with the devil.

I thought I was being smart.
Thought I could play a game I’d been watching my whole life.
I was wrong.
Andre is not the kind of man I expected to be taking me home.
I’m nothing more than a pawn to him. A way to prove he holds New York City’s underworld in the palm of his hand.
His power is immense. His control unyielding.
Everything he wants becomes his.

But someone is out to take it all away from him.
The power.
The control.
And me.

Judgment is a compelling and consuming mafia romance, with a scorching plot line that quickly became my kryptonite this story and the characters seduced me.

Let’s talk about Andres for a minute that man there owned me. I couldn’t help but fall under his spell he both possessed and swooned me all in one sentence and his chemistry with paisley was fiery I love a feisty FMC and she was that and more I couldn’t get enough of them.

I can’t believe this is Willa Jade first novel. Because wow she blew me away, I can’t wait for more of her captivating words..

If you are looking for a steamy age gap mafia romance with great chemistry between a feisty FMC finding her voice and a determined and unbending MMC, then… this book is for you.

Stars: 4/5
Spice: 3/5

Having no other recourse to save her mother but to auction herself off to raise money, Paisley finds that her buyer is no ordinary man. Andre Valinov, a cold and calculating man with a mysterious past, plans to use Paisley to have an advantage over his enemies. Although he has no intention of caring about her, nothing prepared him for her spirited nature.

A good mafia romance is always my preferred trope to read, and this book did not disappoint. The chemistry between the characters was intriguing and their interactions were fascinating. I appreciated that the author made the MMC as cold and calculating as she could and did not give us the insta-love/attraction a lot of the books in this genre do. I do wish the plot involving the “bad guy” and ruling group were developed more in depth which would have added more to the action and suspense and would have made this, in my humble opinion a 5-star read.

All in all, I loved it. Great main and secondary characters with enough steam and action to keep me interested till the end. This is my first book buy this author and I am already looking forward to reading book 2 Disavow.

Willa Jade is a new to me author, I was offered an ARC and had no preconceived idea of what to expect. What I received was an absolutely fantastic read, engrossed from the off and I couldn’t put it down.

A great storyline, a page turner for me, so much to keeping me captivated and lose track of time, an amazing first release from Willa.

I enjoy some dark in my reading, the tough, no messing gangster type, those who command the room they walk into because they’ve either gained the respect or people are just damn scared. That’s who we have with Andre, he’s the top of the pecking order and not someone you mess with!

Paisley is trying her hardest to keep her head above water, working two jobs, she’s willing to do anything to get what she needs to help her mom…..absolutely anything.

I was captivated by Paisley and Andres story from the off, Andre using his dominance of people to get what he wants doesn’t seem to have the effect he is used to with Paisley, she has too much on the line to let him slip through her fingers and she’s prepared to fight.

There’s nothing better than seeing the mighty man fall hard and Andre certainly falls hard…not that’s he’s will to admit it.

Whilst this touches on dark elements, it’s not to the extreme.

This book sets us up well for more to come and I can’t wait for more.

Paisley, our heroine, offers up her virginity at an auction for the criminal elite to the highest bidder, in order to pay for her mother's expensive medical care.

Andre is the head of The Association's (a large crime syndicate) New York sector and has many enemies, so when he sees his rival about to purchase Paisley, he steps in and outbids him at the last second.

What started out at a shady auction, evolved into a fake dating arrangement, and then into so much more as the story progresses. Paisley is quickly drawn into Andre's seedy criminal underworld, and we follow both their POV’s as Paisley and Andre grow as individuals and as a couple.

Paisley is a fiery woman who will go to any lengths to save those she cares about, and it was fascinating to watch her discover and grow as the pages turned. Andre was cold and ruthless, terrifying everyone he came into contact with, he was a major arsehole but seeing him soften towards Paisley and fall for her was everything.

Overall, I really did enjoy this book, and it's amazing to think that this is Willa Jade's debut novel.

Warnings; There are some triggers in this book as you would expect from any mafia romance novel.

Thank you to the author and Greys Promo for the ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

We have heard this story a million times. The one where we find ourselves with another morally gray character that doesn’t want love, doesn’t deserve love, but by golly, he got love. In the form of a young blonde who cannot comprehend believing she is beautiful in any capacity. But our man is going to burn the world down for her in the end. All I can say is…heck yeah. I am a complete sucker for these types. Gimmie them all.

I love nothing more than to see a man who thinks he is incapable of loving anything but himself, fall head over heels for that one woman. I will read that story a million times. Even better when the woman he loves comes out with a backbone and a feisty attitude. A delicious match made in storybook heaven. And that’s what Andre and Paisley ended up being. A wonderful duo that stole every ounce of my heart.

From start to finish this book had my attention. Of course it would. It was mafia after all. But this was an entirely different take into the mafia world and it fascinated me to no end. Piece by piece we are given glimpses into Andre’s world of The Association and it drove me mad with a need to know as much as possible. A delirious kind of mad. A good kind of mad.

Heartbreak, suspense and a romance these characters never saw coming, JUDGMENT was a phenomenal, well written, debut book for Willa Jade. I already have my sights set on book 2 and it doesn’t come out until November. 5 Stars!

Thank you to Grey’s Promotion for the ebook ARC.

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. I was super intrigued by the blurb and concept, but the execution just didn’t excite me.

Both the heroine and hero felt like very flat characters. You didn’t get much of Andre’s background and what you did get of it was only a few paragraphs. You didn’t see much of his mafia background other than you are told he kills people. The mafia side felt very under developed. The heroine you get more insight into her life, but I didn’t feel much for her. I didn’t feel much for either of the characters and I didn’t believe their connection. The steam between the two characters was just lackluster. Also, Paisley started to become so annoying with her repetitive thoughts of how she doesn’t want to be viewed like her mother was because her mother sold her body to take care of her (even though there was more to her mother than that). She just repeated the same thing almost word for word throughout the whole book. I understand how society views women who sell themselves to make a living, but I wish there was more substance to the commentary on this subject other than reiterating what we already know of society’s views. We also didn’t get much of the mother/daughter relationship. Just glimpses of moments together. We don’t get much background on the mother’s illness.
A lot of this book fell short for me. It had the potential for me to really enjoy it, but nothing went beneath surface level with the characters or the plot.
I thought it was going to be a dark mafia romance, but I don’t feel like that’s what this is. It is very light and I don’t consider this very dark at all. Everyone has their own scale of what they consider dark though. It does deal with some tough topics, but again on a very surface level. It doesn’t really dive deep into any of the plot points.
Also, the conflict that Andre is talking about the whole book and this guy who is suppose to be out to hurt him, the conflict finally happens, but it happens and is resolved within the matter of 2 pages. You blink and the whole scene is over.
The last thing I will say is that the writing felt a bit choppy between scenes. There wasn’t really any transitions between scenes and it would be like you blinked and now we are over here doing something different and it would kind of jar me because I was wondering how we got from one part to the next.

I really do wish I loved this book because the blurb sounded so interesting.

It is a Dark Romance, but it wasn’t super dark. It has a mafia trope but it wasn’t over the top. For me, I felt like it was a perfect step into this dark world of romance. The story shows glimpses of the business but it centers around the love story of Paisley and Andre. How much strength they have as individuals as well as the power couple they become together. Of course there is sadness and in the middle of that the unthinkable happens, but it wasn't overwhelming or gory. There is a sexual assault that takes place but I can honestly say Willa wrote the scene in a way that didn’t trigger me. As a survivor I can appreciate that.

If you want to try a dark romance story but are afraid to make that leap, I would highly recommend this book. I really enjoyed the story and I look forward to reading book 2.

Judgment was a total surprise. I loved how the entire book kept throwing out surprise after surprise after surprise which compelled me to keep reading until the very end.

This was a new author for me, but from the very beginning I was drawn into the compelling story by characters that were really flushed out and had fantastic energy.

At first, Paisley comes across as a scared, doe-eyed, completely naive virgin, but it doesn't take long to realize that she is so much more than the stereotypical role she has been cast in. I loved how quickly her bravery showed through, along with her utter passion to do whatever it took to save her family, which is what makes her shine to a man like Andre. I really admired her determination and street smarts.

Andre is not, by society's standards, a good man. He's definitely an anti-hero, but when it comes to Paisley, his Duchess, he bends the rules over and over again. He finds he even bends his own rules as life as he knows it changes the moment he meets her. Like most anti-heroes Andre is stubborn, demanding and has high caveman tendencies, but it's in his tender moments that blew me away.

Then we get to the best part, aside from the hot, sizzling moments....it's the banter between these two. It. Is. AMAZING!!! Every chapter, every time they are together, they pop. Now I can mention their chemistry which is always set at a constant boil...these two just have IT!

This is a series I look forward to continuing and an author I look forward to reading more of and since this is just the beginning of an interconnected series between Andre's brothers, I'm super excited to continue down this path of reading more about them

I feel this book had so much potential, but it all just fell flat for me. The mafia side to this book wasn't really developed at all, and the conflict that took up most of the book was literally resolved in two pages. Plus the relationship between Andre and Paisley didn't have any substance to it. Paisley was just repetitive in her insistence not to become her mother (read: judgemental about the fact that her mother was a prostitute. Look, society already degrades sex workers enough, I don't need it in books too)

I just didn't vibe with this book. I'm sure others will love it, but it just wasn't for me.

Andres is a man you love to hate and hate to love! This man is ruthless and possessive and you can’t help but want him. The chemistry he has with Paisley is fierce and explosive. Paisley was not this meek little mouse no she was a fighter she was feisty and she would go toe to toe with Andres. I loved them together so much!! This book is gripping and seductive and will have your attention from beginning to end.

This was a new to me author and then come to find out this is her first book!! WOW! Blown away by Willa Jade’s words and I cannot wait for what she brings us next!

This book was everything I didn’t know I needed!!! Mysterious society? ✔️ grumpy, no emotions, will burn everything for his love, morally grey man? ✔️ a defiant, independent, badass heroine that (quite literally) brings him to his knees? ✔️
I love Paisley and Andre both separately and together. I love the ways they inadvertently help each other work past the stigmas that society had mentally and emotionally shackled them to. 100/10 loved and cannot wait for the next book!!! 🥵🤧😍

Captivating, breathtaking, exhilarating, intense, emotional, and holy wow, what did I just read? Judgment by Willa Jade, is absolutely everything I love in a dark romance, and to be honest, in a romance in general. From the characters, to the language, to the plot, it is all just exquisite.

Jade does an exceptional job of building characters her readers will fall in love with, as the characters fall in love with each other. Strength and independence are perfectly tempered with vulnerability, creating a storyline that grows and changes as the characters do. I was instantly drawn to Paisley, her resilience and tenacity alongside her insecurities only enhancing her appeal in the wake of everything she faces. The situations and experiences Jade leads her through, coupled with the background she so intricately weaves into the story, create the perfect foundation for the person Paisley is destined to become. And Andre is- wow- he is intense, and dark, and impassioned- he is a storm unto himself; dark, brooding, and dominant. But as with every storm, there is an underlying current of energy that craves focus and direction. Together, Paisley and Andre are a force to be reckoned with, but one that develops in a most unexpected and dynamic way.

The story itself seems to be a tale as old as time, but it is distinguished by multiple emotional twists that further not just the plot line for a developing series, but the characters’ development and growth as well. Everything from the premise to the setting to the final incredible HEA flow through every level of emotion available, drawing out every reaction from indignation, to sympathy, to rage, to solace, and even joy. And the rollercoaster of this journey is so worth it.

Jade does a truly wonderful job of creating a world around her characters that’s fit for a well-developed and engaging series. From the engaging supporting characters who enhance the plot and main character development, to a villain who is so deserving of his ultimate destruction, every element of the novel’s denizens create a purpose and picture the mind will eagerly consume without feeling overwhelmed.

This book stands alone with its own HEA, but leaves the reader with so much promise, and a need, for more. And not just from Paisley and Andre, but from those who seem destined for their own books in the series, and maybe even some on the periphery (I’m looking at you, Victor) who this reader hopes also gets their perfect HEA.

I am really impressed with the authors phenomenal debut novel . I went in blindly and didn’t want to keep any expectations with this being the authors first novel but I was really impressed with the plot, story and characters. It’s a dark age gap mafia romance with morally grey hero and an innocent heroine. It was a dark mafia but I am so glad it was not so dark and leaning towards mafia . Andre is a mafia boss who wants to get rid of his competition, he is cold and ruthless. He doesn’t believe in love or thinks love is for him. Ivy is an innocent girl who is willing to do anything for her mom . The story was captivating and beautifully written and kept me hooked from the very beginning until the end. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and reading more books by this author.

This book was amazing. Willa Jade's debut book is excellent. I was sucked into the storyline of this page-turner from the very first page.

Working two jobs to support herself and her mother, Paisley is doing her best to keep her head above water. Anything she could do, she would do for her mother. Paisley initially strikes as a scared and naïve virgin, but it doesn't take long to learn that Paisley is so much more than what she was initially presented as. She shines to a man like Andre because of how soon her courage came through and how completely committed she was to doing whatever it took, even if she was afraid. She was so tenacious and street savvy, which I really admired.

Andre is a charismatic individual who draws attention wherever he goes. He is undoubtedly an anti-hero. As his life changes the moment he meets her, he discovers that he even breaks his own rules. Paisley was able to bring Andre to his knees, although everyone follows his instructions.

The story of Paisley and Andre immediately captured my attention. They had wonderful chemistry together, and each of them had fascinating personalities and banter between them. They transformed into a great power couple. They unintentionally assist one another in overcoming the stigmas that society had psychologically and emotionally bound them to. Can’t wait the next book!

This debut book for Willa Jade is an age gap, underworld romance, with steam and is absolutely a must read story.

Andre Valinov is a total jerk. He bought Paisley solely for the sole purpose of showing those around him that he rules over them. He can win. He doesn't want to love or need love. However, Paisley turns out to be more than he thought. He started to have cracks in that hard exterior, especially for her. You soon find out that what's underneath is a man who actually is full of love and compassion for those he cares for.

Paisley will stop at nothing to take care of her only family. Including selling her virginity. She was much stronger than what I initially saw in the beginning. She found herself. Her strength. And love in the one person she never would have thought to find it in.

This book has twist and turns, ups and downs and an epic ending. And of course an HEA.

I don’t know what it is that I’ve been getting hooked on interconnected series but im here for it!

ARC!

Now Im biased on mafia romance, but this one was ✨chef’s kiss✨
This is my first Willa Jade book but I know for fact it won’t be the last. I just know his brothers will love as hard as he does, and who doesn’t love a morally gray, traumatized man?

This book is about a strong woman, who will fight until the end for whoever. She grows up a lot within the pages and it shows, it’s actually beautiful to read. There wasn’t any grey area, she was willing and always wanted to do and make the decisions she wanted.
Please please take the trigger warnings into consideration because they are pretty strong, especially considering how I’m usually not affected by them.
She overcomes a lot, and I cried so much for how she struggled with her moms health.

Andre was honestly enigmatic, but reading his POV made it up. Like, this is the type of book where you read in her POV how he rejects her but in his pov you can tell how my h he loves her.
He is a typical alpha hothead, but in the end, he only felt stronger with her by his side.

This couple was refreshing, they are both amazing characters and non toxic. I loved them both, and would’ve love to read more and I can’t wait to read their bonus epilogue when it’s out.
This couple was meant to be, their connection could be felt through the pages!

Tropes: age gap, fake relationship, tragic past, mafia dark romance.

My Rating: 4 stars!

**ARC was generously provided in exchange for my honest review.**

And just like that… there’s a new-to-me romance author who has made quite an impression! 👀 Willa Jade’s first book from the Sons of Sin Series not only held my undivided attention from start to finish, but it has me hyped up for the next one! 😊

This book falls into several romance sub-genres but doesn’t necessarily lean towards one more than the other. It has a little bit of everything, and in my opinion it’s one of the more ideal stories to start off with if you’re dipping your toes (and not diving head first) into dark or mafia type romance reads. It’s dark contemporary romance with a lingering underworld backdrop. There’s a smidge of suspense, a good deal of unpredictability, and if you can manage some slow-burn romance, then add this one to your TBR.

It’s a character-driven story whilst gradually revealing to its readers the shady world Paisley has been caught-up in and where Andre holds a steely edge of power. You’re easily transported into Paisley’s life. There’s an air of desperation and angst throughout that you can’t help but identify and/or sympathize with in one form or another, and it just elevated the overall reading experience. If you’re an emotional person who gets easily misty-eyed, then you might want to have tissues nearby for this one.

There’s some real-life issues at hand and relatable emotions seeping out of these characters. As the story progressed the more I got invested in seeing how Paisley and Andre’s coupling would evolve from their initial arrangement. A contrast of familial dynamics between Paisley’s and Andre’s inner circles added further complexity to their relationship and to the overall world-building.

I found the secondary characters just as intriguing as the MCs and presented additional plot lines to the main narrative. Comic relief or light-heartedness wasn’t heavily present, but tension set by Andre and the gritty world he’s associated with was still cut through with the assist of these characters.

Although this had more romance than dark and gritty elements, it still contains sensitive subject matters than may be triggering or could be considered offensive by some readers. Please note, it includes scenes involving coercion, kidnapping, sexual abuse, and violence. It’s intended for readers 18+ only.

A portion of the story introduces The Association; a criminal syndicate of sorts, and provides insight on how Andre became a member and how his familial backstory interconnects with this dangerous organisation. I would’ve loved if it was a little more in-depth, but I’m chalking it up to this book being the introduction to the series and that with time further details will be revealed alongside a more extensive world-building.

I found the writing effortless and engaging to follow. The storytelling is well-paced and told from dual POVs. There’s moderate spice level between Paisley and Andre with the focus of their relationship more so on connecting mentally and emotionally as they steadily get to know each other. This book has a lot of heart and it shows through the characters’ evolvement and interactions throughout. It was refreshing to see a morally-grey hero like Andre be a pillar of strength without over-the-top alpha-male tendencies. He may be strong-willed but he also has plenty of endearing qualities that make him such an aww-inducing hero! Paisley has her quirks but what I liked about her most is that despite her hardships, all the roadblocks, and all-around getting the short end of the stick, she stuck to her guns through and through. When the going gets tough, the tough get going! That’s Paisley to a T!

All in all, this book has good bones, and with how it concluded I’m eager for what’s to come for the rest of the series. The premise was what had me keen to read it and it didn’t disappoint. Putting aside the romantic aspects, I was pleasantly surprised to learn of a complex brotherhood-in-the-making too. I predict great things with the Sons of Sin Series. Bring on Disavow!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Andre Valinov owns a piece of me. A piece he refuses to take. But a deal's a deal. One I intend to honor. Even if I made it with the devil. I thought I was being smart. Thought I could play a game I'd been watching my whole life. I was wrong. Andre is not the kind of man I expected to be taking me home. I'm nothing more than a pawn to him. A way to prove he holds New York City's underworld in the palm of his head. His power is immense. His control unyielding. Everything he wants becomes his. But someone is out to take it all away from him. The power. The control. And me.

This is a age gap mafia book and I loved every single second of it. It is also a dark romance and you will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. This is also the first book in a new series, Sons of Sin. The book also mainly focuses on the story between Paisley and Andre. I will go ahead and warn you that you are going to love to hate Andre and hes really good at making you feel that way too. He is ruthless and possessive but I had a feeling he had a side to him that most people were not seeing. He has some amazing chemistry with Paisley who is fierce and strong and not at all a girl to shy away from anything. I loved that fierceness about him. I loved the side of her that was really feisty and she gave as good as she got when she could. She was certainly not afraid to go to war with Andres if she had to. These two are so perfect for each other and I loved every second that I got to spend with them. I don't want to go into details of the story as I feel like you need to go into this story blind. You will love it as much as I did I am sure.

Paisley Davis needs $100,000 to get her mother into a cancer trial. When her friend suggests auctioning off her virginity, it’s not ideal, but Paisley will do anything to save her mother’s life. The buyer is Andre Valinov, a ruler of New York City’s underworld. He’s not interested in Paisley, he just wanted to prevent someone else from having the satisfaction of the purchase. He sends Paisley home that night - with her virginity. As Andre works to secure his position as leader of The Association, he decides Paisley can help by being his fake girlfriend. This is great in theory until Andre develops feelings for her. Paisley is caught up in something she doesn’t understand, but her feelings are just as real. Paisley is in danger which means Andre is on alert. He’ll move Heaven and earth to save her.

I love this debut novel. The narrative is strong, the world building is great, and the characters are amazing. Paisley is in over her head at the beginning of the book, but by the end she’s come into her own as a smart, strong young woman. Andre finally gives in to his feelings for Paisley, but he’s still a ruthless criminal. I love that he commits to his crimes and doesn’t spend time playing around. If he’s going to kill someone, he does it. No questions. I love the depth of the characters and their histories. There’s a reason the book is called Judgment, but you’ll have to read to find out. This is where the things Paisley and Andre have in common become important.

This is book one in Jade’s Sons of Sin series, and more are on the way. Take the opportunity to get in at the beginning of this new series now!

This was a great book and I believe this is the first book that the author has written and I will definitely be following this series along.

I really liked Paisley’s character as she was so determined and focused on her mom’s well being and trying to get her mom healthy. She lived her life for her mom and began to understand why her mom had made certain decisions in her own life to try and provide for Paisley. I also liked that Paisley didn’t want anyone’s handouts and was worried about what could happen to her if she didn’t go through with certain things.

Andre was a character that you knew was going to be stubborn and that he was going to fall for the girl, and I liked gradually watching the change in him. Yet he also soon realized that he was providing his enemies with a target that could bring him down so he had to be careful.

There was a lot of chemistry between the two characters but for both of them it involved a slow building of trust which was nice to see. I also liked how other people saw the happiness that they each provided the other although it was slow coming.

There were some tense moments and some other pretty sad things that occurred, but I really liked how both Andre and Paisley tried to provide for some of the homeless people and at the end of the book what they offered a few.

I am definitely looking forward to Madison getting some romance next and looking forward to Miami!

Paisley and Andre come very different backgrounds. Paisley is sweet, yet streetwise and totally dedicated to the care for her sick mother. All she needs is enough money to get her mum into a medical trial for drug the doctor assures will cure her. Andre by contrast has not long taken over as Mafia boss in his area. His priorities are making sure everyone understands he’s the boss now and “cleaning” house aka who from the rank are with him and getting rid off those who aren’t.

They meet one night when Paisley decides she can sell her virginity at a very high amount $$$$$$ Although Andre isn’t keen he does purchase her, just to show one of his rivals that he can take what ever he wants. And so starts in many ways a weird relationship, Paisley's strength and determination (and devotion to her mum) take Andre by surprise, whereas Andre's bossy, demanding and controlling nature have Paisley wanting more. Overflowing with some really hot chemistry and action, there’s quite a few ahhh moments, alongside sad ones but plenty of smiles. This is not your typical Mafia book either, the emphasis being on Andre & Paisley relationship rather than killing and bloodshed.

There isn’t anything that Paisley Davis won’t do to try and save her mother and get her as much medical treatment as necessary. She is willing to forgo anything for herself as her mother is the most important person in her life and that leads her to a decision that she never thought she’d have to make.

Andre Valinov is a powerful man who lately has come under fire by an enemy who wants his power and Andre will do whatever he can to steal what he wants, even a woman’s virginity.

How far will Paisley go to give what Andre has bought and will Andre take what she is offering?

Is there such a thing as a Comfortable Dark Romance? I think so.

Judgment by Willa Jade is just such a dark romance, with all the prerequisites.

With its well-developed characters, solid plot, and solid storytelling, Judgment was a comfortable read with organic exposition, and at no point did I feel like the author was trying too hard or reaching too far outside her comfort zone to make the work darker than required or more salacious than necessary.

The story takes on challenging situations, crimes of various types, and retribution commensurate with those crimes. It also deals with the death of a beloved parent, but it does so with dignity and realism that is poignant without feeling contrived.

The first in a new series I look forward to reading, Judgment, is steamy and suspenseful, with relatable characters and enough dark elements to land solidly on the thunderstorm side of grey.

I enjoyed it and recommend it to those who value storytelling over shock value. Judgment is a perfect read for anyone wanting to stick a toe into dark waters without diving head first.

ARC Review

——————————————————

⭐️: 4.5/5
🌶: 3.5/5

“Sometimes witnessing someone else’s pain is worse than suffering through your own.”

——————————————————

A dark mafia romance featuring Paisley, a woman willing to do anything to save her mom, and Andre, a man trying to squash his competitor once and for all.

Now, I’ll start off by saying while this is a dark romance, it is perfect for someone looking to start dipping their toes into dark mafia books as it’s not super dark.

I loved Paisley and Andre. The slow burn, the tension, the chemistry, the anticipation (on our end and theirs). HERE FOR IT. Andre - cold, heartless, harsh. Paisley - kind, loyal, fierce. Together? One well-balanced team. Andre and Paisley keep each other on their toes constantly, but at the end of the day, no one can question their want - and need - for each other. The way Paisley sees the real Andre? The way Andre takes care of Paisley? It made for a great read - definitely recommend.

This was my first time reading this author so I had no idea what to expect. I basically went into this book blind. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
This is a dark, age gap, mafia romance. I think the romance was done really well. I liked the morally grey hero and how he doesn't believe love is for him, but he ends up falling first and hard for the heroine. I love reading this trope and Jade knocks it out of the park here. I enjoyed their banter and the repertoire these two had. I especially loved it when the heroine brought the hero to his knees (quite literally!). It made for an exciting love story.
The plot was interesting from the start. It hit the ground running and never slowed down. It made the book unputdownable.
Overall Judgement was full of excitement and the beginning if a fantastic love story. Can't wait for book two.

*Thank you to Grey's promotions and the author for providing an advanced readers copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

The blurb of this book had me all in with out much thought. I am always interested in a virgin auction trope and dark romance stories. This book does end with an clear HEA.
The chemistry and passion in this book were amazing! I was 100% in on this book. Even though this book is dealing with some tough issues it does not in any way extinguish the chemistry. I also really liked that the consent in this book is very clear. Never is Paisley forced to do something she does not want to do; it also allows the reader to see the softness of Andre with out him losing his alpha feels. While it can be hard to create moments of swoon or grand gestures in dark romance, especially with an alpha anti-hero, however this author does accomplish that.
I can not wait for book 2 in this series as I think Andre’s brothers are going to fall as hard as he did if not harder. I absolutely would recommend this title.

Poor Paisley, she would do anything for those she loves so she finds herself on the auction block because her mother is sick. I hate that she had to do this, but I admire for doing what must be done. Andre is the one who buys what she's auctioning off, and he's the type of anti-hero that enrages me & yet I fall hard for. He's holding the underworld with an iron fist, but there's always enemies out there who want to take him down. As these two spend time together, feelings are getting caught, but both are denying those feelings, however the writing is on the wall. Every interaction has sparks flying as the chemistry is thick, and she's a feisty girl who isn't afraid to go toe to toe with him which I LOVED! I can't believe this is Willa Jade's debut book as it held all of my attention hostage cover to cover, and I never wanted it to end! I CANNOT WAIT for more from this author and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I loved this book!! The title couldn't be any more fitting for this story. There is quite a bit of judging people and making assumptions. Paisley seems like the naive innocent girl, but you will get to know a different person. Andre seems dark and dangerous well he is but there is another side of him. Paisley and Andre make a beautiful couple. What starts out as arrangements ends with feelings. Everything Paisley goes through Andre doesn't leave her side. Andre the alpha male we all love that will burn the city down for his woman and Paisley will rule like a Queen by his side. This book has it all a great plot, steamy scenes and I didn't want it to end. Willa Jade is a new author for me, and I can't wait to continue reading this series, she has me hooked.
I was given an ARC of this book and in turn will give my honest opinion of it.

This is the 1st in a new series, and this author has done an incredible job in weaving this in-depth and intricate storyline. This is Andre and Paisley’s journey. Paisley is resilient, tenacious, and insecure, but she has a strength which has her working two jobs to keep her head above water, and she will do anything she must to help her mom. Andre is dark, intense, dominant, controlling, and broody, and he is used to getting anything he desires. Only Paisley seems to be immune to Andre, but they may be strong as individuals, but together they become so much more. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, and intense, with emotions, intrigue, suspense, twists, surprises, family, tension, friendships, and love, which leads to an entertaining addictive page turner.
I received a free copy of this book via Greys Promotions and the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
