This is the twenty third book in the Mech Warrior Dark Age series. This series is a continuation of the Battletech series. The books in this series, like the books in the original Battletech series, are by various authors. This one is by Blaine Lee Pardoe. The Republic of the Sphere has known a long period of peace and prosperity. Then the interstellar communications network a.k.a. the HPG net is destroyed by terrorists and many planets in the Republic find themselves cut off from the rest of the galaxy with communications taking weeks or even months. Unrest leads to several factions on several planets trying to overthrow the local governments and seize power for themselves.
Surrender Your Dreams deals with the effects of the implementation of the "Fortress Republic" plan. This book tells the tale of three knights, Lady Synd, Hunter Mannheim, and Kristoff Erbe, and their individual missions that could either save the the Republic of the Sphere, or destroy it. They will each be assigned the help of a "Ghost Knight" and a unit of warriors known as the Fidelis, by the former Exarch, Damien Redburn . The Fidelis haven't been heard from since the time of Devlin Stone but they are loyal to his cause and to the Republic. Their skill, honor, and courage on the battlefield are unequaled. Surrender Your Dreams is the first book to really deal with the consequences of the implementation of the Fortress Republic plan. It is written in an odd format but is a very enjoyable book to read. It is a great addition to this series.

Interesting story

Interesting story about three different missions set around the time of Fortress Republic activation with some interesting characters and showing a darker side to the Republic of the sphere.

it's good but the pacing is slow for the first half of the book and I struggled to keep up with what was happening before or after what but the last third saves it for me with interesting climaxes to the main character story arcs. I would have loved to see more emphasis on the fidelis though, they were awesome
