An ancient war between light and dark, good and evil.
When Fiaa turns 21, strange things begin to happen. A chance meeting with a stranger has her seemingly normal life spiralling out of control. This stranger, Ryker, Prince of Faeire, finds something magical and unique with this mortal girl. With one look she has entranced him, but with one touch she sees right through his glamour. Taken to another world, Fiaa's eyes are open to the magical realm of Faerie, where more secrets seem to loom.
Enemies of old come out of the dark, as Fiaa is no mortal girl.
Girl… get an editor. Please. Maybe a proofreader at least. Hell, just get your neighbour to read it while using a highlighter or something.
I can’t, in all good conscience, rate something that has not had a single lick of editing (self or otherwise) and may have been written by a horny 14 year old. *edit* I change my mind. Turns out I can.
Ps. Bartender is one word not two. A dam is a type of water barrier; I think the word you were looking for was “damn”. When you combine two words in a contraction like “we” and “are”, there should be an apostrophe, otherwise it’s a totally different word. When something takes a long time, it would be “ages” not “agers”. Just FYI…
⭐️ This book was so confused as to what it wanted to be. It’s like a piece from every fae lore was thrown together and mashed into a weirdly paced story. The character development just isn’t there at all and the twist at the end is so meant to shock that it doesn’t even matter that it doesn’t make sense with the entirety of the story. 🌶️ The spice is even more confused than the storyline. You can tell the author wanted everything to be hot hot hot but it just falls short and feels like a boy wrote it. And there is nothing hot about calling ladybits “my sex”.
2024: I received an ALC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review. I really enjoyed this book. My first audiobook, it was relaxing and super flexible to listen to while doing housework, crocheting, or putting kids to bed. The narrator, Laura Horowitz, did a wonderful job throughout the book, really making me feel engaged with the story. Her voice was pleasant and appropriately expressive. I enjoyed Corvin King narrating during the prologue and would happily listen to him narrating more parts. The story itself seemed relatively simple and straightforward. I enjoyed it. I found that I picked bits and pieces of the events before they took place, but overall, the foreshadowing didn't spoil the story. The ending was great. Well put forward with a great build-up. Super keen on continuing the events in book #2.
I absolutely adored this book. I devoured it whole. The spice was well written and I can not wait for the next one. The characters were intriguing and the plot was fantastic. Shannon’s done a fantastic job with this book and I can’t wait to see where she goes. 🥰
This was a good read, I got to listen to it as a audiobook and the narrator’s smashed it. I definitely want to read the next one to find out what happens
REREAD January 24 of revised edited version and new audiobook! So glad the Author decided to invest in an edit and release of an audiobook. The book is so much smoother now and I loved the audiobook version! I decided to do a reread for book two! Now on to book two after that beautiful cliffhanger!
OG
Oh blue eyes how I love the. I need to find myself a man who braids my hair. I spent most this book wishing I was in the lord of the rings get up(thanks to the author for the LOTR line, I imagine this in so many books 🤣).
This book had me wrapped around it’s little finger and had me theorising how it would go throughout.
Yes yes there is some editing issues but dudeeeee the story is there. I enjoyed the plot and I am a keen bean to read book two. I also love the Aussie rep of slangs/sayings.
If you want a story where the FMC has no idea who or what she is, who is from the mortal realm. Next minute flung into a world she has no idea what’s going on, then this is for you.
I am excited for book two(lucky I bought it at the same time). I also can’t wait for the new resubmitted version. If you are someone who has issues with editing, typos ETC I’d suggest waiting for that. The story is there and I loved the story!
I absolutely loved this book. I could hardly put it down. It flowed so nicely and had amazing characters. I loved how strong and independent Fiaa was but then also how she melted for Ryker. The sexy Prince Ryker sounds delicious if I do say so myself. The spicy scenes were well-written and fit perfectly into the storyline without making them cringy. I loved the ending and can't wait for book two. Shannon you are a SUPERSTAR lady! I will read anything you write.
Fox Fire takes us along with Fiaa as she finds out who and what she is. To me, this book is a set up for the next book where I believe all the action will take place. It reminds me of when Sarah J Maas has her first book as just introducing the characters and their personalities. I will be honest, I had no idea it had smut elements going into it. I thought it was just a YA novel. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, I love a good smut read, I just wasn’t expecting it.
For me, whenever I read the term ‘my sex’ it took me out of the book. That’s just my personal preference. There were also a lot of spelling mistakes throughout the book. That’s not something that bothers me, however, I’m aware it bothers others so thought I’d mention it.
The next paragraph may contain spoilers but they are small enough that they won’t take away from the story so read on if you’re ok with that.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS: I loved the animal elements within the book. I found that to be such a nice touch. Something different I hadn’t read before. Also, her changing her eye colour gave me ‘The Craft’ vibes which I’m so here for. In addition, I enjoyed the way the transition was written. It was different from anything I’ve ever read and I found it so thrilling. END OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS.
I also want to shout out to whoever made that cover. It’s absolutely stunning!
I enjoyed reading about Fiaa, Ryker and Kitty ;) and I can’t wait to read the next instalment. This was definitely a good read and I do recommend picking it up if you’re into faerie smut, world building, new concepts and shocking endings.
Fox Fire was an amazing read! Once I got into it, it was hard to put down. I found that I was feeling what was written and felt like I was there.
It does end on a cliffhanger; a pretty big one that leaves you going WTF! and I am so glad I already have the next one so I don’t have to wait to find out what happens 😅
“I haven’t even touched you yet, imagine the type of noises I could pull from you then.”
“So wet for me, naughty Princess”
Spoilers 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽
Keelan & Fiaa are so cute and I had a feeling from when she first saw him as a black cat that it was him, and I’m so glad I was right! When they are affectionate towards each other in their Alta form is cute 🥹
The hesitation in the last couple of pages in the book!! Umm what was that?! Just because someone’s heritage isn’t what you originally thought doesn’t mean they are any different. I felt the pain coming off Fiaa when Sintus phased her away from Ryker and Keelan and they hesitated to help her.

Fox Fire follows the story of Fiaa, who discovers at age 21 that she is a changeling, a Faerie. She meets Ryker a Faerie Prince and discovers a whole new world of magic, of the secrets surrounding her birth and of the dangers that are looming.
I have to admit I was drawn to this book by its cover, it’s absolutely stunning! I knew this was a fantasy read coming in to it, which I don’t mind, but I had no idea it was a spicy read, which again I don’t mind, it just means that this book will not go on my shared bookshelf with my daughter. 🙈
Overall I enjoyed this book, I found it lacking a little depth in some parts, but when I picked up the slim book I knew it was going to be an easy read. There were a few spelling mistakes which threw me off a bit. But overall I enjoyed the storyline and this is a good intro to the faerie world and to the next book which I’m told is where everything happens.
This is not a children's book. Repeat this is not a children's book. I was recommended this book to me by a friend as she said it was a great fantasy book. I thought 'fantasy is a perfect book for me to read to my 6 year old at night'. However, turns out it was an erotic fantasy, and I now have to explain to my child all about love, sex, and all other matters of sexual pleasure. I'm giving this book 4 stars as it lost 1 star for making me believe it was a book for children. The rest of the stars are for the storyline and hot sex scenes that really got me hot and heavy leading me to finish off with my special double headed toys for both naughty parts late at night.
Fox Fire Part One is everything I could have hoped for. It was filled with Fantasy, Mystery, Romance and Spice. The cliff Hanger has me wanting so much more. I cannot wait until Part Two is released. Fiaa has no idea that she’s a Faerie and lives in the Mortal world. Meeting Ryker the Faerie Prince. The bond between these two is Hot from the beginning to end. The Transition to full Magical Faerie is anything but smooth for Fiaa. But she transitions into something very special. I absolutely adored these two characters and then in comes Keelan (Kitty) who I adored also. The spice in this book is so so good. 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
Loved this book! We get to follow Fiaa as she discovers who she really is and all the friends she gets to make along the way. Fire Fox was wonderfully written and took me to a new world of Fae and faeries with just the right amount of spice thrown in the mix. You fall in love with the protective goof ball that is Keelan and the hunky Ryker.
The ending will leave you wanting more. I can’t wait for book two!
This book had me hooked! I enjoyed a lot about this book and standard part 2 first thing the next morning. I also appreciate the glossary at the front of the book as I found myself needing to flip back to understand a few things 💕
Fell short 1 star because there were a few things that needed an editor to go over. Lower case at the start of a sentence, spelling, etc. However, I feel overall it didn't take away from the book as I knew what was meant when reading.
I absolutely loved this book and can't wait for the next part to come out. The characters are fantastic and intriguing, there were twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat. It is such a engaging story that left me longing for part two.
Wowzers not my normal type of read but was recommended to have a peek at Shannon's book Fox Fire I was so invested I read it non stop. It finished on such a cliff hanger and I cant wait for book 2. Hurry up Shannon........ :)
I read this as an audiobook & it was such a great experience! I'm moving onto book 2! I love the magic system in this book, plenty of spice. Lovely bonds. Aussie author. I'm a fan!
I listened to the audiobook and it was an easy listen (read). It is predominately narrated by Laura Horowitz. I have been wanting to listen to an audiobook narrated by her and she exceeded my expectations. There was also a few smaller sections narrated by Corvin King (such as the prologue) and he does a good job.
I really enjoyed the unique version of the Faeries, Fae and their magic systems that is in this book and am keen to learn more. The world building is well done and I was easily drawn into the story, being able to picture the scenes easily. This is a spicy read for 18+ (not dark though) and I think the spice is written well. At one point I was worried that the spice was going to overtake the storyline, which I absolutely hate. However even though there was a little more than I would consider necessary or at least in such a short timeframe, there was enough of a solid storyline to keep me invested. I felt the level of character development was fair for the length of this book and it was enough to get a connection to the characters even if I would have liked more.
I am certainly keen on continuing with this series. If you are considering picking it up be aware there is a decent cliff-hanger.
I am apart of the Books and Bitches ARC Team and received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I’m looking forward to listening to the next parts in this series, to unravelling the mystery of Fiaa, of where she comes from, who she is, and where she fits into this magical realm.
Pros: I like the tropes. Cons: Not the most elegant writing.
Overall, this is better than a lot of fantasy I've read. I enjoyed the setup and the romance/heat. The story was compelling enough for me to be interested all the way to the end, though the characters are a bit flat. I listened to the audiobook, and the main narrator was great, giving a little extra personality to the characters.
There's not a lot of world building, but you get the idea. I could have done without the prologue entirely and had those pieces of information come through in a different way, which might have provided more opportunity to describe the magic systems and political landscape. I was never confused or distracted by questions about the setting or the magic, though.
Repetition of words and phrases was my top pet peeve with this one. Some of that could be argued as literary device, but most of it feels like someone trying to reach a target word count by splitting up sentences that really should have been combined, and therefore having to repeat a subject/object.
There's some spice, which I expected and enjoyed. But there was also a fair amount of descriptive violence, which surprised me and didn't feel necessary. And there's a cliffhanger at the end, so just be ready to read the next one if you want the full story.
All these five star reviews are clearly friends of the author, or fake reviews from the author because there is absolutely no way they could be legitimate. If I wrote a book and my friends couldn't even tell me that I had written "then" instead of "than" (among a plethora of other issues...), I would be wondering why they're even my friends if they can't be honest.
This was an uncomfortable struggle that I eventually had to DNF. I have read some self published books before and can give them a free pass for a little bit of editing issues but this was written as if the author honestly didn't even run it through Microsoft spellchecker. Every character was described in detail how hot they were; two chapters in and the FMC was slathering over three different men and it just reads really bizarre (the amount of throbbing and mentions of her core in only a few chapters is just disturbing). I flipped through to see if it got better; it does not. The dialogue is written as if the author just imagined conversations in her head and wrote it word-for-word, but reading dialogue is different to speaking it.
It honestly reads as if I horny teenager wrote it on wattpad and then somehow had the money to turn it into published work with an, arguably gorgeous albeit catfishing cover.
"The story you are about to see has been told before. A lot. We are going to tell it again. But different"...This was an entertaining and easy read (well listen), but it definitely is not an original concept. This series is a mix of Blood and Ash, ACOTAR, and the Cruel Prince series. I cannot ignore the parallels. Fiaa and Feyre both brought to a fae/fairy realm made up of courts named for seasons and day and night. Both to fall for the leader of the Night Court (as well as being mated to them). Both get a gorgeous dress of stars. Fiaa and Poppy end up in a weird triangle with their Fated Mates and a friend with a special animalistic bond. Both Special friends can shapeshift into animals....Many many more! The stories are scary similar but some of my favorites to hear. This one was just a fun mash up of them all.

I received an ALC of this book in return for my honest review.
As a non-American it took me longer than usual for my ear to adjust to the accent and start to actually listen to the story rather than trying to catch and figure out every word. Once I got through that phase (first couple of chapters), I thought the narrator was pleasing to listen to, being appropriately expressive and using various intonations for the different characters
I found the book itself an easy read, however, I did guess fairly early on what the twist would be so the suspense wasn’t really there for me. I also found of the sex scenes a little jarring as if they just came out of nowhere with no real reason for them.
I plan to read the next book as I’m intrigued to know how the cliffhanger will be resolved.
Far out, this book had me hooked from the first page.
