Sunset SEALs #4
Escape to Sunset
Navy SEAL Jason Kealoha comes to Sunset Beach to release the ashes of his SEAL brother, who was killed in an attack in Nigeria. A Pacific Islander by lineage, Jason is unfamiliar with the Gulf Coast shores his buddy grew up playing in as a child. He befriends a beauty one night at sunset, as she roams the surf, skipping shells, lost in her own world. She's afraid of her own shadow, seeing mob bosses around every dark corner. Kiley Worthington is on the run from a sex trafficking cartel she stumbled upon as an investigative reporter in Portland. She decides hiding out in her sleepy beach hometown in Florida makes sense until she can figure out where she can spend the rest of her life in safety. The one-night stand was nice, but the last thing she needs is a huge tatted, overly-protective guy who won't leave her alone. If she's not careful, she may never escape. But she's so tired of being alone, a few hours of safety in his strong arms gives her momentary respite. His Ancestors Once Ruled as Kings He carries within him the need to rescue the innocent and be the hero at all costs. He carries out his SEAL Team 3 buddy's dying wish to be buried at sea. But Jason turns out to be the right kind of wrong for Kiley, as her enemies find her. In Jason's bed, she finds a true sanctuary, as well as a safe place to hide forever amongst the white sand beaches and golden sunsets of the Florida Gulf coastline. Will he be able to save her from her own stubborn ways while on deployment? Find out in this haunting love story about true honor, living for acceptance glory from ancient ancestors, and the need to right the wrongs done to those who have no protection. Jason comes to the Florida Gulf Coast to fulfill his friend's last wish and he winds up finding a whole lot more. After tossing his friend's ashes into the ocean, Jason notices a woman sitting on the beach hiding under a large hat and sunglasses. After a time, he realizes that she is crying, but before he can ask her if he can help she jumps up and takes off leaving her blanket behind.
Kiley just knows that the trouble she has been running from has found her so she takes off again, but upon reaching her bungalow she realizes that she left her favorite blanket on the beach and returns to get it. Jason tries to talk to her, but winds up causing her to have a panic attack and he can smell her fear. After Kiley comes to, Jason tries to offer his help and gets attacked by Kiley. He calms her down and finds out that she may be in danger and he again offers to help, but Kiley refuses and they part ways. The next night they meet again on the beach, but instead of finding out what she is running from, Jason winds up spending the night with Kiley. The next day Jason learns that Kiley is an investigative reporter for a paper in Oregon and she is doing an expose' on kidnapping and human trafficking of young girls and that she has been threatened. Before Jason can possibly help her he is called back to duty and deployed on a mission. He tries to hook Kiley up with some former team mates and his leader's wife to help her, but Kiley is headstrong and doesn't want to listen to anyone's advice which leads her to do impulsive things that put her in more danger that Jason may not be able to rescue her from.
This book had me laughing, cringing, swooning and cheering. It is a good story and definitely worth the read.

We are back on the Gulf Coast of Florida and this time the story belongs to Navy SEAL Jason Kealoha and investigative reporter, Kiley Worthington.
Jason is there to release into the ocean the ashes of his best friend, Navy SEAL Thomas, who was killed in action.
When he sees a woman on the beach, he is drawn to her, but she is on the run and keeping secrets.
Later, Kiley reveals her story on human trafficking has her in the crossfire of evil men. As much as Jason wants to protect her , he is also trying to keep his actions in check.
A secondary story is revealed when Jason’s next mission has him going to the Canary Islands where there they too are working against human traffickers. Makes one wonder if in later stories these two incidents will be related, though that is only this reader’s speculation.
If you have read previous stories, you will get a chance to visit with some of those characters. Always nice to “hear” how they are all doing as well as enjoy their camaraderie.
In general, it was an engaging story with interesting characters and a good plot.
My only but in the story , is that Jason is Hawaiian with Polynesian ancestors, and having visited New Zealand, as far as I know, that is the home of the Maori not Hawaii. But , I could be wrong.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I received this ebook ARC from the author on the condition that I write an honest review.
This book had lust, romance, Seal brotherhood, mystery, and suspense. The main male character is Jason, a Hawaiian born Navy Seal. Lonely and feeling the loss of his best friend. He goes to Florida to scatter the ashes of Thomas, in the area where Thomas was born.
The main female character is Kiley, a reporter hiding out in Florida due to death threats for an Expose’ that she wrote about sex trafficking. She is a strong willed woman trying to protect the women kidnapped into this trafficking group. Jason and Kiley meet while on the beach and develop a quick relationship.
Jason is sent on a mission with other Seals to stop a criminal doing sex trafficking also. Kiley stays in Florida but feels an obligation to return to Portland and face up to all the complications from her Exposé’. Upon arrival in Portland, she is kidnapped, but her strong will gets her out safely and she has help also. Jason and Kiley meet up again and obtain their HEA. I truly enjoyed this book, and it was hard to put down. Ms Hamilton continues to write exceptional books and I will always recommend her books.

Jason is a navy seal and now he has a mission of his own that is important to his seal brother Thomas that was killed in action in Nigeria. Thomas wanted his ashes scattered in the ocean of the Florida Gulf where there was eternal sunshine and love and this was his home and Jason was granting him his wish. Kiley was in hiding as she was a reporter and doing a article on human trafficking that she had discovered in her town and now her life was in danger. When Kiley and Jason meet she thinks that he is part of the people that are after her so she runs away. They then meet again and there chemistry and connection was off the charts and when Jason finds out how much danger Kiley is in will he be able to help her. Omg i love this book and series so much and could not put it down as it was a real page turner and so addictive that you have to keep reading to see what happens next. Sharon Hamilton writes one of the best stories when it comes to the military and she is an amazing author and writer and i recommend you read this book, series and others by her and you will not be disappointed.

Very enjoyable and entertaining book in the Sunset Beach series. Kiley is an investigative reporter who has uncovered a human trafficking ring in Portland Oregon, thereby getting her in trouble with the mob. Now she is running scared to Florida due to death threats. There she meets Jason, who is possibly my favorite hero of the series so far. He is a big strong but gentle Hawaiian guy, and of course, gorgeous! Great story with a strong female lead. Recommended.

Sharon Hamilton is one of my favorite authors. When I see her name I know that I will have a good story to read! I have even been to two of her book signings while she was on the East Coast.
This story does not disappoint. Jason and Kiley seem to be perfect for each other. Their only problem is finding the time and the space to be together. Kiley is a newspaper reporter who wrote a few articles about the sex slave industry naming names. She went into hiding when several things happened to scare her. Jason feels frustrated because he can't really help her.
Of course this was a great story and well worth buying.

Sharon Hamilton delivers in this well written, saucy, funny, gut punch of a book. Sexy, protective alpha, smart heroine in danger, and in need of a safe place to fall as she is on the run from really dangerous sex traffickers she is set to expose. Beach setting is familiar too. I Recomended this sweet heat of a book!

Think this is my new favorite in the series. Jason is saying good bye to one of his team. Kiley is hiding out after some articles she has written stirred up danger. Loved seeing Jason's connection to his culture and that Kiley is strong and actually takes care of things herself. Two different missions with great conclusions. Enjoyed seeing several characters from previous books and series showing up. Do not have to have read those to enjoy it was just a bonus for me. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review

Jason and Kiley have quite the adventure in this quick, action-packed book. This is my first time reading a book from this author, and I was not disappointed. Kiley finds herself in danger as she investigates a ring of missing women. After fleeing to Florida for her safety, she meets NAVY Seal, Jason. I loved the strong female character and the unpredictable ending to this mystery! Great read!

Jason is in Sunset Beach to say goodbye to his Seal brother who was killed. He meets Kiley who is on the run and hiding in Sunset Beach from a sex trafficking gang. Jason and her hook up and he's helping her. Nice to go back to Sunset Beach and meet up with some of the characters from previous books and visit the area again. Can't wait to see where Sharon takes us next.

You know those books where your yelling at the character well that’s how I felt about Kylie. Kylie is an investigative reporter who got a little too close so she is in hiding but then she meets Jason and for some reason she trusts him. Jason gets sent on a mission asking Kylie to be safe and wait for him to go back with her but she gets a tip and can’t wait, it just gets better from there.

This was such an amazing book! I absolutely loved Jason and Kiley's story and hearing and seeing so many of the other characters from previous books was awesome too. Jason was such a gentle giant with a heart of gold and steel core and Kiley sometimes made me feel like I just wanted to shake some sense into her but in the end it was all good. I can't wait to see what Sharon Hamilton writes next!

Love finds a way thru mystery, murder, mayhem and distance and learning to stand against evil things to help those in their clutches will make your heart full. Loved it!!💞💞

It was a sad Jason who visited Florida to follow his deceased team member’s last wishes. However he never had imagined the events that would follow including meeting his soul mate.
Yet another beautifully written and entertaining story which I thoroughly enjoyed.

This book has it all - action, drama, suspense, sexy time, love. This was a great read, I was invested in the characters and the book from start to finish. It was one you did not want to put down once you started it. This is the first time I've read this series and now I want to read the others. I love a good book about Navy Seals, and this one did not disappoint. Jason is in FL to spread his Seal brother's ashes and after that he sees a girl, but she is terrified of him and runs off. Kylie is afraid he is after her, but later they meet and he helps her through a panic attack. They seem to have an instant connection. While we all know Navy Seals are very brave, Kylie is also brave in her own way. She is an investigative reporter and she stumbled upon a huge story, which eventually led her to fleeing where she lives as she was in fear of her life, but that doesn't stop her from wanting to stop the madness especially when she unknowingly puts her co-worker in the middle of it. Will she make it out alive when she goes back on her word to Jason? Is the bond between them enough to stand the test of him going on missions? Are they working on the same thing? You will need to read this to find out that. I know I would love to read more about this group so sort of hoping there will be more books or a new series created from this. Looking forward to reading many more books by Sharon Hamilton.

This was a fast paced, short instalove book with hints of spirituality. There was reference made to the Maori Haka, which was part of Jason's heritage from what I understood. Yet, he was teased about it from his "brothers", and it became a joke. For me, that took away from the whole concept of hearing his ancestors, or even communicating with Thomas. There was no point in including it or the spirituality issue if it was being treated so lightly by his team.
Kiley and Jason's meeting was more of a fluke than anything else. I liked Jason. Kiley seemed to be irresponsible and a bit flighty to be in so much danger. I really thought Andy's speech to Kiley was absolutely on point.
I also thought the situation with Carmen and Kiley had potential, but the story just blew through it. I felt like I blinked and the entire ordeal was over. The Op that the SEAL team was on was quick too, but I didn't expect the book to linger on it since the focus of the storyline was on Kiley's investigation.
The end of the book also felt incomplete. It was an OK read. I can't say Jason and Kiley had an HEA, but they had an HFN. There were open questions left for 4 team members. To be continued.

Jason finds himself at the Florida Coast to make good on his friend's last wish, so he comes across a sad beauty by the name of Kiley as he's scattering his friend's ashes. Kiley has been trying to stay under the radar after a story that she's been doing on human trafficking, as she's been living in fear that the trouble will follow her so she's suspicious when Jason tries to talk to her & runs away. Fate steps in when they come across each other again, which ends with them hooking up before he's deployed again soon after. He's trying to make sure she has a support system, but what ends up happening is she makes more impulsive decisions which guarantees the trouble will follow her. Obviously that means the twists were f-bomb worthy while I was on the edge of my seat waiting for that next shoe to drop, and I was here for it all! I LOVE Sharon Hamilton's suspense stories filled with alpha military men so I know I'll never get enough! Hit those one click buttons so y'all can experience all the excitement with a big dose of heat that is Escape to Sunset! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This is a gripping, suspenseful and intriguing story. When Jason goes to sunset beach to release his best friend's ashes to the sea, he notices a woman just sitting on the beach wrapped in a blanket. When he goes to introduce himself, Kiley freaks out. Jason leaves and figures that if they are meant to be, he'd see her again. Kiley was in hiding from people who ran a human trafficking operation who had tried to scare her away from the story. Kiley and Jason meet again, and things between them heat up very quickly. When Jason gets called to go on a mission, he makes Kiley promise to stay in Florida and not go back to Portland. Unfortunately, the crap hits the fan while he's gone, and Kiley has to put herself in danger. Jason is a native Hawaiian who chants to himself, and converses with dead people. He quietly strong, super sweet and very dedicated. Kiley is stubborn, determined and reckless. It's a must read for SEAL fans.

Interesting and suspenseful story, at the start you really feel her terror, it had me holding my breath even though I knew the threat wasn't present at that moment. I love the descriptions of the houses, beach and area this series is set in, it adds to my imagination and I can almost envision the sunrise sunsets over the sea and feel the warmth of the sun. The plot gave to me as a reader right the way through, I knew something would happen at some point it was just a case of when. Some action as well with the team mission which I always enjoy, after all these are military and not just romance. Wonderful detailed characters, each with their own history that is as unique as they are, they blended well together and even though it was only a few days they seemed suited. As this series progresses it's nice that the group are expanding but also we get more of them, so it isn't just a one and done book we get to 're visit some of the couple's and how their relationship/ jobs move forwards, I for one especially like that. Wonderful read

Jason has come to Florida to honor his best friend and fallen SEAL teammate’s last wish which is where he meets Kiley. Their first meeting did not go well as it could have as her nervousness and hesitation comes across as being cool and withdrawn.
Kiley finds herself in danger due to a story she was investigating and has come to Florida to keep a low profile until it is resolved. She is drawn to Jason in spite of herself and what starts as a steamy evening evolves into something much deeper, but will it be enough to overcome not only his career but the danger she finds herself in?
I really enjoyed these two together as Jason will do anything to protect the woman he has come to love while Kiley may be scared but there is no doubting her strength and resilience. I thought that the narrator did a great job with not only the pacing but bringing the characters to life as well.

ESCAPE TO SUNSET starts on a bittersweet note as Jason Kealoha, surrounded by the voices of his ancestors, says a final farewell to his fallen brother on Sunset Beach. As he’s saying his goodbyes to Thomas, he comes upon Kiley, an investigative reporter, who is hiding from those who will do anything to keep her from revealing what she knows. Jason and Kiley’s tale has elements of drama, danger, and passion that will keep you entertained throughout. While Jason’s on a mission to rescue trafficked girls halfway around the world, Kiley’s on her own mission to expose those who are engaged in the same trade on US soil. When Kiley’s life is threatened, Jason is determined to make his way back home to keep her safe. Their story is filled with enough emotion, excitement, and intrigue to capture your interest from the very beginning, keeping you turning pages until the end, and leaving you wanting more.

Kiley and Jason had a decent story. He’s saying a final goodbye to his brother, she’s on the run from danger. After an awkward first meeting, attraction takes the wheel and drives them into each other’s arms. It felt like they both had their own danger to handle, which proved that women don’t always need a man...but a man who will stand by their side to defend and support them is always nice.
My issue with this book is the throwaway use of “half breeds” while describing Jason’s home of Hawaii. It’s 2020. Let’s maybe find a better term? This set the tone for the entire book to me and made it difficult to find a connection with the author’s talent for telling a story. Based on that, I’m being generous with a 3⭐️ rating because plenty of other terms would’ve sufficed.

Kiley certainly is the perfect match for Jason, she is strong willed, determined as well as wants to do what she can for the underdog. Unfortunately her latest story is more dangerous than anything she has ever covered and has her not knowing who to trust, has people disappearing and being torn between returning home or staying hidden. You will be sucked into this book from the very beginning when Jason farewells his team mate and you can't help but love how protective and understanding he is along with his team mates you get to meet. I really enjoyed how there were so many emotions to go through as well as a story that had you not knowing what would happen next, I haven't read the others in this series but after reading this I will have to read them now!

I loved Jason who was from Hawaii, a big guy with a loving heart even though he was a seal. It was sad when he had to put his best friend’s ashes in the water of Florida. There was where he met Kiley who was afraid of him. Jason was such a good man and showed Kiley she could trust him. I was glad she told him what she was running from. She was able to meet some of the other team members who immediately told her she was part of their family and they would help do what they could to protect her. It was scary what she had been reporting on, but she was determined to try and stop the stealing and selling of girls and some boys. There was definitely some scary things going on. I urge you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Jason is a Navy Seal who is on leave and in Florida at the beach where his navy brother grew up. I can’t imagine losing one of the people you are the closest to in a war and then needing to spread his ashes in the place he grew up. Doing it by yourself and reliving the way he died brings back everything.
Kiley is an investigative reporter that has uncovered a trafficking ring and has the cartel after her to shut her up before she can publish any more damaging information. If they can find her where she keeps her notes and the names of the people, she interviewed then they can take her out and continue with their shipment.
This is an interesting and compelling book. I’m now waiting for the next one. I recommend this series.

Jason and Kiley I say with a smile, well if you're an Aussie these two names together are iconic...but I digress.
Jason is a Pacific Islander, my town is full of native Kiwis so I understand how big they are and what a haka sounds like at a local rugby match.
Kiley is a reporter and Jason a SEAL, she's in danger and he needs to protect her. I didn't like her though, she seems neurotic and self absorbed.
Jason and his team have to leave for a mission, will they get back in time when Kiley finds herself in grave danger. Sex traffickers are the theme of this story, such an ugly crime when children are involved. This was an entertaining weekend read.

Kiley is a reporter and Jason a SEAL, she's in danger and he needs to protect her. I didn't like her though, she seems neurotic and self absorbed.

i loved this story. What i loved the most was how Jason was proud and attentive to his heritage. He is SEAL but so much more and so respectful too....i was sad he lost his "brother" but he did not stay grieving when someone needed his help.
Kiley is arg i got angry with her...i do understand and appreciate her want for justice but she is so narrow minded when she could have gotten real help. It was also frustrating to see SEAL not being able to help to their full abilities.
The story is really well written, the investigation is captivating and teh romance cute. Really i loved it
This can be read as stand alone without trouble if you want a god story with romance and SEAL this is for you
