When my father sold me to the mafia, I thought my life was over.
But then, I found sin...
It came with dark eyes that held a glimmer of gold and a hint of humanity.
It came with the soft brush of a hand that had slaughtered so many people and was permanently stained with blood.
We never meant it to happen.
Knew what he would do if he discovered he had been betrayed by the man he trusted most and the woman who had been promised to him.
Yet, I found sin in the arms of the man who was my jailer.
The one charged with keeping me captive and helpless against his monster of a boss was the one who gave me hope.
I found sin.
And it may be what gets me killed.

Finding Sin is the prequel to the Deadliest Sin Series about five organized crime families, starting in Philidelphia and moving into Chicago and how sin consumes their lives. Give in to the deadlist sin with the Albanian, Italian, and Irish mob, the Colombian cartel, and the Russian bratvas that control the Midwest.

Finding Sin is the prequel (#0) to the Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. A series of novellas about five organized crime families, starting in Philadelphia - moving into Chicago and how the seven deadly sins consume their lives.

“My hopes. My dreams. My freedom. Gone in the snap of his fingers and without a second thought.”

FMC, Rea, is sold to the Mafia and ordered to marry the MMC by her Father for business. Rea’s world as she knows it is upside down. She’s a meek and timid character who doesn’t have much room to stand up for herself against her broody (forced) fiancee.

“Your old life is gone now. Your family. Your friends. All of it. You are mine. Do you understand me?”

MMC, Tarik Morina, is the other half of this arranged marriage - a large and in-charge mafia man who doesn’t take no for an answer. He’s mean, crass and doesn’t care what Rae (or us as readers) thinks as long as he’s maintaining his power.

“It doesn’t matter what I want. Doesn’t matter that we aren’t even legally married yet. Father sold me to him – plain and simple – and now, I’m paying for it. With my body and my sanity.”

Character driven, beautifully written, dangerous intrigue and anxiously awaiting to see what happens next.

“Something is giving me hope. But hope can be a dangerous thing.”

I am SO excited to read this novella series. I found Finding Sin through Romance Bookworms Stuff Your Kindle Day and I immediately ran and purchased all of Deadliest Sin. I’m interested to see how it plays out for Rea and the Morina Brothers.

“He may be a monster, but he isn’t like his brother.”

Billed as a mafia romance, this slow-burn didn't hit for me.

The characters are far too closed-off to invest in emotionally and I had the feeling that I wasn't the only person left in the dark, which I'm sure was intentional but I found it beyond frustrating.

By the time the MMC and FMC connected intimately, I was already bored with them.

Why does this keep happening!!
I keep starting books that are not on KU. So I'll read book 1 then go for the next and realize its not KU!!!!

So this is the prequel to Wrath (If I am not mistaken as I haven't read it yet)
Its dark, but the dark shit that happens is implied not actually on page (thank goodness).
I love the MMC. Although I don't see how the FMC could tolerate him. Yeah he is different, he's not his brother. But he has his brothers face and build. I think it would be really hard to want or be with a man who looks, feels, sounds EXACTLY like your tormentor / rapist (because that is what the brother is).

Spice 0/5
Humor 0/5
Emotional 2/5
World Building 3.5/5
Overall 4/5

This book was so intense from the start it maybe a short book but packs a punch to it. Gwyn is an amazing writer. Rea had me worried for her safety so much this book. I was so frustrated with Konstandin he wanted her but was still respecting his brother even though he was shady. But I think it's amazing how he really wanted to keep her safe and cared for her. The way Gwyn writes spice scene is so good. I have love reading her books so much. She always does a great job. Can't wait to read the next book

Finding Sin is the prequel novella to the Sins of the Mafia series by Gwyn McNamee. I have been excited to start this series since I first heard it was a series of novellas. I'm not usually a big novella person, unless it's part of an already established series that is like an extra story, but this whole concept sounds awesome!

I enjoyed this novella as it just kicks off everything for this series and truly leaves you wanting more! I'm going to start the Inland Series next as Gwyn said, the series are interconnected, and I'm more than excited to see what that's all about!!!

This one I was kind of confused. She gets kidnapped by one mean brother and the other brother wants to protect her n keep her away from his mean brother. I may have to re read this one again but I think I will continue with the books in this series n see if I can get into it. It just did not say why her father n the mean brother are wanting to work together. So times I feel like I read the book but did not understand why she was taken n what she is being used for if one brother just wants to kill her. I will have to read again

Prequel not needed.

The story started out with beautiful writing and I was excited to get into the story. After multiple time skips, I realized this was the prequel to the real story. There wasn’t really any important information in this needed for the actual story. Each chapter sort of repeated what was already told just at a later time.

FINDING SIN is an intense tale with darkly passionate and lethal characters. There’s a lot of dangerous intrigue throughout this story that will keep you thoroughly involved and anxious to see what’s coming next.

it was good but not enough

This book was good but I felt like it was missing so much! I couldn’t connect with the characters and I just didn’t enjoy it the way I thought I would.

I liked the premise, and I think the rest of the series should be interesting. I think this prequel felt very repetitive... every chapter we had the same/similar inner monolog, but not a ton of things happening. It is only 100ish pages, so I don't think it could really go too deep into more.

Slow slide

Slow slide into the dark world of the mafia. Character driven plot that will last throughout the entire series, dealing with different mafia factions in the same area.

Brief but well written

Considering the length, this was an excellent set up for the series! I'm definitely going to check out the next one

I didn't know this was a prequel, but now I'm too invested not to read the entire series.

This was a quick read, I’ll give it that. High on suspense, low on details. Also low on spice. There are more in this series, which I have, but I’m not in any hurry to get to them. I’ll read them when it comes up on my TBR picker, but I’m not praying for it to happen soon. If you like mafia romance with a quick 2-hour read, this is decent.

2.5 stars. its a short intro to the deadly sins stories and does lay the story down to understand why some characters do what they do.

This is an intensely intriguing story that sets the tone for the series to follow. It is well written with characters that jump right off the page and kept me glued to the story.

Very slow and not enough drama to make for a good book. The characters involvement with each other is so minimal and yet they fall so fast and plunge into love it’s not even slightly believable. Worst of all. The puppy 🙄 I was hoping this would be the book to get me into the series, did the complete opposite.

A quick and angsty read, not my usual pick.
But enjoyed it nonetheless with a nice steamy scene at the end.
