President Carlos Rivera, the first Latino and Cuban-American president of the United States, decided on what reaction would be appropriate for the nuclear attack that had occurred on US soil. He wanted to send a strong message to the rest of the world. The United States would not tolerate another attack. At the same time, he asked Captain Vince Gonzales and his Covert Bravo squad to stay with him as a Special Operations team. After talking about the president’s request, Gonzales and his squad decided they would accept. After settling into their new role, Gonzales and Covert Bravo completed an assignment the president gave them. They took down a gang of drug traffickers in Canada who were involved in bringing drugs through the Mohawk Indian Reservation. Captain Gonzales struggles with his budding romantic relationship with the secretary of Homeland Security. Covert Bravo member Roberto Chavez and the recently rescued Consuela Hernández have the same struggle with their relationship. Neither woman wanted her soldier back in harm’s way.
