The world’s most inexpensive and unique tour to Israel.
Join Holy Land expert and tour guide Dr. Charlie Dyer on a trip through Israel. Blending history, rich biblical teaching, and humor, Experiencing the Land of the A Life-Changing Journey through Israel connects its travelers to fifty highlights—all through stories and an illustrated travelogue. Readers will be captivated by the more than 260 color images of places like Caesarea, Mount Carmel, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea, Jericho, and more! Yet, rather than a mere history lesson or catalog of facts, you’ll experience a trip—minus the jet lag, sunscreen, and lines.
The Holy Land is full of rocks and stony ruins. But a successful trip to Israel will also bring the traveler into contact with “living stones”—people. Dyer invites you to connect to the sites emotionally as well as intellectually as he intertwines three beautiful and rich story cords. Get ready to make some new friends! You’ll connect with the biblical story. You’ll laugh and learn from the vast collection of tales Dyer’s accumulated on his many trips over the years. And you’ll form your own story along the way!
If you’ve always wanted to experience Israel, but haven’t had the opportunity, this book will transport you to the streets and acquaint you with the people. Or if you have been blessed to visit these sacred places and want to relive the experience, this book will bring you right back to the sights, smells, and emotional ties.

A fantastic read and recap of many historically and theologically significant places and events in Israel! I have been to Israel twice but forgot a lot of the details, and this helped reinforce those and draw connections and parallels between locations and events.
I’ve been to Israel twice with a third trip coming later this year. Still, I learned something new about every place I have visited through this book. This book will be a treasure for any pilgrim to the Holy Land. It’s not just the facts about these sites that makes this book great. It’s the spiritual significance of each and the devotional thoughts Charlie weaves throughout. This is the best and most useful book I’ve read about traveling through Israel. I will have it in my hands for my entire trip to Israel in a few months!
This book was recommended to me and looks like a great resource to prepare me for my upcoming trip to Israel. There are many pictures throughout as our author highlights each location or point of interest with commentary many times linked to the biblical account. There are over 50 separate chapters including very helpful maps preceding each major section of the book. I cannot wait to go, and this has giving me many things to think about as my trip will cover some of the same spots listed in the book. He also provides personal stories and some humorous moments that have transpired over the years that he has led pilgrims to the land. This book was published before Oct 7, 2023, so there may be other things to be aware of as we travel during this current season of terrorist activity and unrest in the region. But, as the sub-title suggests, it may be a life-changing journey through Israel for me and the group of I with including close friends that will be with me on this journey.
A thorough, engaging guide through Israel. The author invokes humor and fun personal stories along the way that will keep you wanting to read on. This book is a helpful precursor for anyone preparing to visit Israel or those who cannot go, but want a tour-like experience through words and pictures.
Dr. Charlie Dyer, who has led more than a hundred trips in Israel, provided us with a fun, informative, and descriptive tour through Israel! I loved the high-resolution color photos that showed panoramic views of the places, as well as animals, archeological finds, and more. The book is divided into tour segments, including “Around the Sea of Galilee,” “Galilee to the Dead Sea,” and “Around Jerusalem.” Each section is divided into chapters dedicated to one place (city or town or area). Dyer’s teaching style helped me retain the voluminous information well. (The book is over 500 pages but it goes quickly!) For example, he incorporated memorable stories, visuals, and mnemonics (such as "ASEGL," or remembering the geography of a city as the shape of 2 buns and an ice cream cone….read the book to find out the reference…). He includes good humor reminiscing funny moments during his travels. I laughed out loud many times! I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in going to Israel, or has been to Israel, or wants to learn more about geography and history during Biblical times!
