I mean, based on this book, Tokyo’s not any scarier than other densely populated cities. The writers tried to stick to the “reality” of stories such as these, when … I mean, I read these to be entertained, but I don’t put much stock in horror stories. The most that people say usually is “I had a bad feeling,” “I saw a shadow,” “the place felt wrong,” etc.
That’s basically a majority of this book, a collection of such stories. Some were different, but not different enough to stand out. Some were fairly creepy, but only one left a real impression on me – the one about the guy who livestreamed his visits to “ghostly” locations and got more than he bargained for.
There were also “rumors” after each collection of stories. Eh, the rumors are just that. They do have grains of truth or are based on some real events, but otherwise, eh. I would have actually preferred a collection of urban legends to this one. Maybe I should look for that.
