WARNING: Bad Blood is a Dark Bully Romance. It contains dubious situations, mature content, and graphic violence some readers might find offensive and/or triggering. Bad Blood is a complete standalone which is set in the Raventhorn and Dark Syndicate World.
Please note this book was previously published in the Filthy Elite Anthology.
When 18yr old Billie Fairchild world is turned upside and her father goes to prison, her mom and her mom’s fiancé Cal move them to NY. He blames Billie’s dad for his mothers suicide and vows to make her life hell if she stays. She has no choice in staying for the time being, but has a plan to escape NY and get back to CA. Unfortunately Chad discovers her plan and what she’s been doing and makes her his own offer. For 30 days she’s his. Than she’ll get 100k to escape. But he tells her not to fall for him.
This was another great book by Faith Summers! I’m so in love her style of writing. I’d love to see another book just on Billie and Chad, maybe a couple years from here, graduating Raventhorn University and getting married!
I read this as part of the Filthy Elites Series, and I actually enjoyed it. I give it a 3 1/2 - 4 star rating because it kept my attention unlike some of the previous “enemies to lovers” books in the series. I liked Chad and Billie and even though this was a quick read, I’m ready for more - which is a good sign. This is my first book from this Author so I will check out her other stories.
I read this as part of the Filthy Elites Anthology.
This story was a mixed bag for me. It started out not my favorite and then picked up. I was getting pretty invested in the story, and then a whammy of a twist comes out and really made me struggle with it. It just seemed so crazy. I didn't understand why this "traumatic thing" would have been kept such a secret. The excuses of why it was better to keep it a secret didn't even come close to making it okay.
I appreciate the author and their hard work but this was not my favorite.
This is a dark bully romance previously published in the Filthy Elites anthology. Chad Volkov is furious and decides to get revenge for his mother’s death, using Billie Fairchild, a new student to the school. The story is not very long but the first part does a great job of introducing the characters. It starts amping up, and keeps going, right until the end. I like Chad’s cold cruelty at the beginning, which he couldn’t sustain for long—made it easier to like his character. Billie was complicated —sometimes in survival mode, sometimes fully enjoying life. The secrets revealed at the end rounded out the events. Great writing, not too bully-ish, good story.
BAD BLOOD by Faith Summers is a stand alone, contemporary, new adult, dark Mafia, bully romance novella set in the author’s Raventhorn Academy and Dark Syndicate worlds. This is Bratva heirs Chad Volchkov, and Billie Fairchild’s story line.
NOTE: Bad Blood was originally released in the April 2022 FILTHY ELITES anthology.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Chad and Billie) BAD BLOOD focuses on Billie Fairchild’s arrival at Raventhorn Academy, a prep school for the infamous, rich, powerful and elite. Billie’s arrival at Raventhorn is unwelcome by Bratva heir Chad Volchkov, a young man who blames Billie’s father for everything that has gone wrong in his life. Chad is determined to destroy our story line heroine, and in doing so, break what’s left of Billie’s psyche and soul. What ensues is the bullying and destructive attachment between Billie and Chad, and the fall-out as someone else seeks revenge against our story line couple.
Billie Fairchild’s only sin is to be the daughter of a sick and twisted man. Billie’s father is blamed for the destruction of Chad Volchkov’s family and his mother’s life, and in this, Chad is determined to seek vengeance against our story line heroine but all does not go according to plan when Chad begins to fall for the young woman he was hoping to destroy.
The relationship between Chad and Billie begins acrimoniously within minutes of Billie first arriving at school. From the outset Chad sets his sights on our story line heroine-stalking, emotionally and mentally abusing, blackmailing and a number of acts of questionable consent. Billie struggles in the face of the threats against her life and her heart, and in this, she gives in to the demands and orders of the man with whom she will fall in love. The $ex scenes are aggressive and intense.
The secondary and supporting characters include the requisite mean girl(s), easy girls, young Bratva crew in training, and the questionable actions of the people in charge.
BAD BLOOD is a fast paced, and heart breaking story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, abuse, bullying and aggression, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic, dark and often disheartening; the characters are broken, desperate and dynamic; the romance is questionable on so many levels.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "BAD BLOOD" I live these kinds of stories the next generation of Mafia this was very interesting, entertaining, intense dark twisted bullying drama, suspense, intrigue, angst, passion, deceit, lies, secrets, betrayal, heartbreak, twist you didn't see coming. Billie Fairchild's life was turned upside down at 18yrs her father was sent to prison for embezzing money from some very powerful people, then her mom & her fiance Cal who's a lawyer that works for a Russian Oligarch moves them to NYC he's able to get Billie in the Elite Raventhorne Academy. Chad Volchkov is the gorgeous Savage leader of the Gods of Chaos popular & a cold Bully walking the halls of Raventhorn Academy when he meets Billie he vows to make her stay a living H*ll because he blames her father for his mother's suicide. I definitely recommend to get this amazing well written story you can't get enough of these characters watching Chad & Billie navigate the twists, the secrets revealed, her plan to escape things happen one thing he captured feeling for Billie he didn't expect its absolutely a must read. I so look forward to the next book this series & hopefully get more of Chad & Billie in the future as well. LOVED ITS A MUST HAVE BOOK FOR SURE!!!!
This is a great addition to the Raventhorn Academy Series. In this story we get to meet Billie whose father just went to jail for embezzling money from some very powerful people and her actress mom moves her from LA with her fiancé Cal whose part of the Bravta. Billie does not have a good relationship with her mother and wants nothing more than to get through her senior year of high school and get back to LA for college and be there for her father when he gets out of jail. On her 1st day of school she runs into trouble, Chad who becomes her tormentor as his mother died after the money funding her research was taken by her father. Chad runs the academy and holds all the power which Billie learns the hard way. Chads goal is to scare Billie away but all he does is bring her closer. These two start out with hate towards one another and somewhere along the way they start a relationship with a contract for 30 days for a lot of money! There are those who are not happy with what’s going on between them so when it hits the fan Billie is heartbroken until some truths are shared and she learns to trust those around her. Chads discovers that his heart is alive and why so he knows what he needs to do to keep that way! I love how these two handle all the twist, turns, deceit and family along the way. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Billie is forced to move to NY from Cali with her Mom’s new husband Cal. Her father stole money from alot of people and is in jail. Chad is one of the Titans of her new school and hates her. Her father’s betrayal led to his Mom’s eventual suicide. He decides she must pay. He offers Billie 100K to be his for a month to do whatever he wants. She wants the money to move back to her life in LA. No surprise they fall in love and have an HEA. Chad is sexy, possessive and full Bratva. There are some nice steamy scenes too! *A Raventhorn Novel set in Dark Syndicate World.
3.5 Stars I quite enjoyed this Enemies to Lovers story. It was short, initially in the Filthy Elites anthology, but it felt complete. The Enemies bit stayed for most of the book, which I appreciate, even though they ended up together fairly quickly. The only thing that I didn't love was how quickly things wrapped up. There wasn't a satisfying resolution, in my opinion, for some of the things that happened to Billie, and while Chad appeared mad, he never showed us he was mad, by retaliating, as any good mafia kid would do for his love.
Chad hates Billie for the role her father had in his mother's death but still finds himself attracted to her. Billie doesn't want to be in New York and though she finds Chad attractive wants nothing to do with him. When Chad finds a way to blackmail Billie into being his slave for a month neither expects to develop real feelings but when the truth of the start of their relationship gets revealed in an ugly way Billie is devastated and Chad will do anything to win her back in this dark tale.
This is another Raventhorn Academy story. Billie is a new student who recently moved to NYC from LA where her father has been jailed. And who should she run into (literally) but the Bratva son, Chad, whose cancerous mother died after Billie's father stole her mother's charity funds. Things are off to a bad start and only get worse! This dark book only gets darker and darker. When her mother and her Bratva lover start admitting truths that had been kept secret for her benefit, she sees the world differently and is able to open her heart to new experiences. A good read.
Gak dark2 banget, dan bkn mafia2 bgt jg sih.. cuma part of mafia family tp masih di jalur "light" soale keluarga2 yg support Pakhan, ya part of Bravta si emang.. tp bkn yg dealing dgn drug / sex slave gt... trs setting anak2 senior year, masih bocah dgn masalah yg fyuh! kwkwkwkw
I really enjoyed this story. My only complaint is that it was extremely short. I see it was in an anthology novel. It was a great story and plot but it was rushed. I would of like more of a story regarding her dad and when he comes out of prison....more about Chad and Billie once they finally accept their relationship, etc.
BAD BLOOD first appeared in the anthology DARKLY EVER AFTER and this reader fell in love with these characters then. Rereading was as much for fun and revisiting Raventhorne Academy, a school for the very wealthy, smart, elite children of the various Bratva. Chad Volchkov has his future planned out for him. He is a tech genius having interned for Markov Tech (we met Eric in HEARTLESS LOVER) and secretly is taking courses at Raventhorne University while still attending the Academy. Tall, dark, handsome and deadly. When we meet him, he is in deep emotional pain due to the death of his beloved mother, a medical researcher whose foundation’s funding was stolen. His father is too busy with his mistress to care about his son and dead wife. Chad blames the person responsible for her death and the lost of funding. He wants revenge. The man is in prison in LA. How3ever his daughter has come to RA and she is his target. The imprisoned thief’s daughter has arrived at his school. His plan? To destroy her and make her leave.
Billie Fairchild wants to be in school in LA not at RA. She has her own plans.. to become a medical researcher and to study at UCLA. Her mother is a famous actress and her fiancé is a member of the Bratva which is the reason Billie attends this school. The two seniors clash as she wants to go and he wants her gone… should be easy right? So begins the twists and turns, the unmasking of secrets long hidden, compromises and betrayal of the most odious kind. Where will all of this lead? You are going to have to read.
Khardine Grey as Faith Summers has once again written a compelling story of love, passion, pain, betrayal and maybe a way to that HEA. Her characters are strong, independent, vulnerable and feisty, with witty dialogue. My hope is to see them again in future books set at Raventhorne. Maybe a sequel?
I received a free copy of Bad Blood and I am voluntarily leaving a review. I really enjoyed this quick bad boy romance. I love the twists and turns the story takes and I love how Chad and Billie fall in love with each other
Chad and Billie's story was about revenge. He blamed her dad for his mom's death. She doesn't want to be there but she has no choice. He blackmails her and of course they fall each other. Until her secret gets out. This was a good read.
All Billie wants to do is get through her last year of high school and she’s back in LA for medical school and her dad’s release from jail. She never expects that the first person she meets is the son of one of the people his father swindled out of money. His mother is now dead and he blames Billie’s father. Can it get any worse? You know it can.
Chad and his crew are at the top of the food chain at Raventhorn. When he sees Billie, he’s furious. He wants her gone and will do whatever it takes to get rid of her. What he doesn’t count on is his heart betraying him.
Billie and Chad's story is brutally intense and lusciously dark. Not going to lie, these two (and this book) really put my mind and heart through a wringer. I liked Billie a lot and I truly hurt for her. Chad, well Chad really walked that line with me but thankfully he didn't cross it. Honestly, at the beginning I found myself constantly wanting to give him a solid slap but eventually he grew on me, and I ended up not only liking him but also feeling for him. This is my elective, candid review.
