This book took me out of my reading comfort zone a bit. I don't normally read best friend's father romance. I gave this one a go because I love the author. I'm so glad I read this one. I gobbled this forbidden romance right up. Alyssa has been dealt a rotten hand in life, but house sitting is going to turn her luck right around. Knox's attraction to his daughter's best friend is a forbidden fruit situation. They definitely burn up the pages with their chemistry. It's going to be a hot summer that's for sure! They are also so adorable together. It made me happy to see Alyssa just enjoy the moment and have happiness for once. How can this summer fling be forever when it feels like several obstacles are in the way. A great read!!

This is a fun and steamy age gap story with the dad's best friend line that will have you lost in the pages from the start.

Alyssa is house / pet sitting. When Mr. Fluffers makes an escape, Alyssa takes to the neighborhood to find him. Desperate to find him, Alyssa knocks on the neighbors' door.

Knox is Alyssa's dad's best friend and is take back to see Alyssa, as she is not a little girl anymore. He may be fighting his attraction, but the more Alyssa smiles at him the more it gives in.

Hot, steamy and oh so electric chemistry that will have you lost in the pages.

This book is about her dad’s best friend. Alyssa is house sitting for the summer. Knox, her dad’s best friend, lives nextdoor. Alyssa does her best to get Knox to see her as a woman and not as his friend’s daughter. Knox does his best to keep Alyssa at arm’s length but finds it difficult.
I enjoyer reading this story. It was fun to watch the interaction between Alyssa and Knox. It started out as a fling but will it be forever?.

Looks like Knox. He’s Alyssa’s friends dad. A divorced, much older guy next door. Alyssa is all in from the moment she knocks on his door to look for Mr. Fluffers (snicker).

Hired to house sit and take care of a pampered pet Mr. Fluffers, Alyssa Conner has already lost said pet. He must have slipped out while she took out the trash. Now she's wandering the neighborhood looking for him. Realizing she's getting nowhere fast she decides to knock on doors. The first one she approaches is the closest neighbor, her best friend's father Knox Bennet.

Knox can no more deny his attraction to Alyssa than she can help pursuing him. These two sizzle off the pages as the relationship becomes something more than just a fling.

I can't wait to see what Carmen comes up with for the next Forbidden adventure.

This is Book 12 in the Forbidden Series by this author, and can be read as a standalone. It is an age gap, off limits romance between Alyssa and her best friend's dad Knox. These two likeable souls and the unique plot make for an entertaining read. What starts out as a summer fling turns into something more. It is a romantic adventure with combustible attraction and frustrating moments. Overall, it has a good dose of drama, steam, engaging secondary characters, and a happy ending.

While house sitting for the summer Alyssa finds the sexy older man next door is Knox her best friend's dad and she's determined for him to be her first. Who knew a lost dog, an instant attraction, and a forbidden love would turn into a steamy, beautiful love story. Forbidden Girl Next Door is book twelve in the Forbidden series and I have loved every single book in this series. Great writing, interesting and hot characters, and steamy, forbidden storylines make this a definite five-star read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

With good intentions helping out an acquaintance in a frantic moment, leads to a forbidden attraction. An intriguing storyline with unexpected age gap romance. Liked the differences of the characters background and their mindset as not being spoiled, but hard work with dreams and aspirations. Enjoyed the ending, especially the understanding of friends and family members, that the heart decides what it wants.

The story and characters, Alyssa and Knox, are eautifully written and nicely crafted. The characters have chemistry and great banter. I love the journey, secondary characters, and the growth in this book. I recommend it.

Not the best…

Proofreading must have been fast. Many incomplete sentences that just don’t make sense. This book wasn’t as good as the other ones. Glad it was free.

This was a classic older man, younger women story. I enjoyed the story line as e Knox Barret did his best to resist his daughter’s best friend who was house sitting next door to his Malibu beach house. And Alyssa Conner did her best to entice him to give her the experience she always wanted and to make her first time, everything she dreamed of. Knox never dreamed he would be this young women’s first time. Aylssa did not have a dream childhood and she thought what’s the harm in having a summer fling with this handsome, sexy mature man. Even if he was her best friend's father. Like all dreams, these two did not see what they thought was just a fun fling under the hot summer sky would become more than either of them could imagine.

The story progressed at a good pace and had some fun moments as well as some deeper story lines. It lagged a bit for me in parts, but I did enjoy this book. I look forward to reading more of her books. I give this book a 3.5 Stars
