He may be a shockingly hot billionaire, but OMG is he grumpy! I’d avoid him if I could but no chance at that in this tiny mountain town. So I try a different approach—butter him up—and fail miserably. What gives this guy the right to act so grouchy? If only he didn’t have those looks…
We couldn’t be more different from each other. He is the aloof heir who’s escaped to the mountains in search of some peace and quiet. I am the adrenaline junkie and thrill-seeker in pursuit of outdoor adventures. Whoever said opposites attract hasn’t seen us butt heads and clash at every turn.
But I can’t help feeling that underneath his tough exterior is more than meets the eye. And I can’t help staring into his gorgeous blue eyes and going weak in the knees. So when after another run-in we end up in his cabin, the tension becomes unbearable … And he dismisses our explosive night as a fling, I have to wonder:
Am I just setting myself up for heartbreak? Or could Mr. Grump be Mr. Real?
The Crenshaw brothers seem to have it all: money to burn, looks to die for, and women to spoil. But behind the smooth talk are real men who are looking for that special someone...so that ultimately, their grumpiness and pain give way to sizzling love.
Note: This series was previously titled “Billionaire Brothers”.
This one surprised me. I didn’t have high expectations for it but it definitely delivered. From the get go I was hooked on the story. I couldn’t put it down. I loved how essentially the whole thing was about Ben and Laurel and how their relationship grew. From the way they met to how they eventually wound up together was fun to read. My only complaint about it was that Ben wasn’t really that grumpy, just mourning his losses and wanting to isolate. He was actually a very sweet, thoughtful guy who cared about Laurel and worried about her. He wasn’t cocky, arrogant or a jerk. In fact, what was a wonderful surprise was how Ben was the one who was willing to open his heart from the beginning by letting love and happiness in. Laurel was the hesitant one because she was so sure she’d wound up getting hurt and was afraid to be vulnerable. I’d read about their transformation as people and was delighted that they were definitely not the same person in the beginning of the book. They brought out the best in each other and you couldn’t help but root for them. Very cute, entertaining, steamy and emotional short story. I thoroughly enjoyed and was sad it ended so quickly.
