One taste of her was never going to be enough. I knew it the moment I laid eyes on her. And I knew it from the moment she kneeled for me.

Roisin was everything I always wanted, but she was also nothing I ever expected. Her words captured me, her poise intoxicated me, and now, I find myself obsessed.

My need for her runs rife through my veins, and I can’t stop it, no matter how hard I try.

I want her.

I will claim her.

She will be mine.

I really wanted to love this, but in the end it was just an 'OK' read. It was technically well written, with a style of writing that was easy enough to follow but I just didn't connect with either of the main characters. The main reasons this didn't work were all very small, often the sort of thing most would overlook. However there were just so many incidences of them that I was continually being thrown out of the story, thinking "Wait a moment ....".

Timeline/ time frames are a huge thing for me, and this book was MASSIVELY fluid on those. Scenes would suddenly jump in time, with zero indication if minutes, hours, days or weeks had passed in the meanwhile. I simply couldn't cope with this. One example - they are at Kian's house where they start a meal. Rosie is pleased they are eating as she is 'so hungry'. Within a line or two they are having sex over the table, after which they shower and then go to sleep. Now all I could think about was (a) had she actually gotten to eat since she was so hungry? and (b) if she had, who feels like vigorous sex straight after a large meal? so (c) had some time passed in between?

Then there was how long they had been together when all the poop hits the fan. Was it two weeks? Because they sure as heck fitted an awful lot into those couple of weeks, given their first few meetings are both several days apart. Particularly when we then get TWO MORE flash back scenes from the same two week period. Perhaps they both have one of those Dumbledore special sand timers like Hermoine did in that Harry Potter book.

I'm a very character driven reader and for me personally Rosie was too inconsistent. I didn't buy into her going from being so anxious she rarely left her house, to throwing caution to the wind and visiting a dungeon with a total stranger. Where she stripped naked for him. And did a scene with him. All without ANY discussion of limits.

Then we had Kian, who pushed for all Rosie's secrets, knowing from his investigation of her that they were harrowing. He demanded honesty from her yet didn't think he ought to mention his ex-wife or child to the woman he was supposedly in love with?

These things together made it difficult for me personally to connect with the book. For those who are more plot driven, or perhaps not irritated by the same things as me, this will probably be a good read. There were plenty of 'good' elements and, despite what seems to be a very negative review, there was nothing MAJORLY bad about it. It was just that it had quite a few very minor weaknesses that, sadly, are all things that I don't care for and as a result they 'spoilt' what was otherwise a decent book. The pace was good, all the scenes contributed in some way to the story. It's also a very steamy read, there were plenty of hot scenes, that were well written and fitted into the story line really well.

I love the Black Light series. It's full of great authors who are all writing within the same world, but who all bring their own spin and personality to that world. Dani Rene is a perfect addition to the rest of the authors who have written in this world. I was really glad to see her join in.

We're at the newly opened Black Light West, in LA. This club is a little different to the one in D.C., but it's still under the hottest club around, Runway.

Kian is a private investigator and a photographer. He takes art pictures of naked and bound women. When the pictures show up online, they only show up as done by Master K. No one knows who he is, and Kian is perfectly happy for it to be that way. That way, he gets to live his life without anyone being all up in his business. He doesn't do relationships anymore, not since his ex walked out and took their daughter with her. Now, when he gets the itch, he goes to Black Light and finds a warm and willing sub and scenes with her.

Roisin has escaped from 2 terrible homes. When she turned 18, she ran, ran so far away, all the way to LA. Now, 5 years later, she works at a magazine and her boss wants her to find and interview the mysterious Master K. Roisin has no problems with trying to contact him. She has her own reason to do it. She wants to find out more about BDSM and that lifestyle, and Master K seems like the best person to teach her.

Roisin is an interesting character to me. She's broken but she doesn't feel broken to me, if that makes sense. She's undergone some really crappy stuff in her past and at a pretty young age, which has definitely colored the way that she sees the world and that she sees herself. But, she still has an innocent quality. Of course, that might be because she's a BDSM virgin. I'm not sure what I think of Kian. Sometimes he feels really likable, and sometimes, I'm not so sure about him. I'm not indifferent to him, just unsure of how to feel about him. I think the chemistry between Kian and Roisin is electric.

I’ve read a new books in the Blacklight Series and having Kian and Roisin’s story by Dani Rene added has me hooked more then I was before. This story is filled with delicious BDSM scenes as well as a blooming romance blended perfectly throughout. Roisin shares her past with us and its both heartbreaking and frustrating to hear that there are people in this world with such closed minded views. Kian is a not only a Dominant, he has a soft nurturing side to him as well and seeing him work the two together has me falling fast and hard for him. The heat is on continuously in their story and it’s undoubtedly a page turner. Phenomenal job and a must read. Make sure you bump this book to the top of your TBR list. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

The Black Light series was new to me … until now. I’ll read everything Dani René publishes, so naturally, OBSESSED was no different. Her writing style is beautiful and her stories the kind to get lost in…

And lost between the pages I got with Roisin and Kian’s story. I love a good BDSM romance and Master K was just perfectly sensual, controlling, sinful and domineering. An enthralling mix. My only wish would have been for him to keep the mysteriousness that came with his whole introduction upright some more. Roisin rather quickly discovered the man behind that title.

Roisin had a rather uncomfortable upbringing, being abandoned by her biological parents early on, and then tossed from foster parents to foster parents... Still she was determined to make the most of her life, taking on the job as a journalist. A job that tasks her with interviewing the elusive Master K, who is known for his sensual art…

Once they meet, Kian becomes fascinated by Roisin’s spirit and her innocence and curiosity in regards to the BDSM – his – world. And he is fascinated to a degree that borders on obsession…

Both characters have issues and secrets, some darker than others, they have to work through, still the drama is low-key, focusing on the enchanting, passionate part of this erotic contemporary romance.

I will be honest here, this is the first book I've read by Dani Rene but after reading this book, it won't be the last. The Black Light series has long been a favorite of mine and all the authors who have written a story in it make it fit right in with the original. Dani's characters also fit in the world and their story is captivating. Roisin is a broken young woman and needs pain to take away the bad memories from her broken life. Kian is a photographer who is known as Master K. His pictures tell a story that Roisin wants to find out about so she finds a way to contact him. Dani weaves a picture of 2 troubled souls finding each other and the readers get to come along on this wonderful journey! When both of their pasts come back and find them, will they be strong enough to stay together? Or will it rip them apart? I HIGHLY recommend this book!!

The Black Light series adds another delicious tale to its repertoire.

Master K and Roisin's story has literally made me OBSESSED with them. Roisin's tenacity to break out from the shitting card she was dealt had me hooked and then in came Kian with his alpha suaveness who just kept me coming back from more.
And in her typical Dani fashion, she has given us a story about love beyond words, hurts, angsts, to one with a deeper connection of characters that stays with you even when the story has ended.

Kudos Dani, and please keep giving us characters that make a place in our hearts and makes us believe in the power and healing of love.

I LOVE Black Light Series. This..not so much

This had a potential to be a really great story, but it felt kind of rushed and chaotic. OCD made me finish this book. So far this has been the only disappointing book of the series. (IMHO) I hope others enjoy it and look forward to the next book in the series.

Did not like

I got this on Kindle Unlimited and did not like it. As I was reading I found too many discrepancies with the timelines of the characters.

I love the Black Light books and really enjoy the stories Dani René writes, but this book missed a lot of key points for me. The scenes Dani has written are smoking hot, the chemistry is great between the characters and I was riveted for the first third of the book.
Unfortunately the rest of the book fell flat for me. I had significant issues with Roisin's character suddenly, and very rapidly, overcoming her significant anxiety that kept her from leaving her house once per week. I had issues with Kian turning from a husband scorned to totally obsessed with Roisin in a matter of a few days. I enjoyed this story, however it read as very rushed with inconsistent character traits. I am looking forward to reading Dani's next book and also to Black Light's next release.

Sad

I loved all of the other blacklight books. They are so good! Not this one. There are so many discrepancies. The characters are weak, and it doesnt feel like a blacklight story. Towards the end i disnt even care anymore, but i made myself finish the book. The sex scenes were wimpy compared to all the other books in the series.

Hodge podge

This is the first book I've read from this author, and I found it to be very disjointed and almost hodge podge. Parts of it were too cerebral--everything took place in the characters head. Even the "action" scenes seemed like they were told instead of lived. There were elements in the story that were just thrown in for no apparent reason, never to be mentioned again; some scenes read as though they're written for a YA audience; dialogue is choppy; overall just not a smooth or cohesive story.

This wasn’t what I was expecting after seeing that gorgeous cover – the title is also quite intriguing, so I was getting ready for some sexy, intense power plays. But NOPE. I was disappointed.
1) The novel could’ve been great – I would’ve expected Roisin to be some badass heroine, shaped by her turbulent upbringing. The way she left her hometown like she was a woman on a mission, the way she didn’t really care and was set on leaving everything behind and starting somewhere new – these don’t really add up to the anxious-social-media-addict-afraid-of-leaving-the-house persona. Plus, even so, she suddenly becomes a rich, successful girl. But hey, talk about character development gone wrong.
2) She’s an extremely shy and completely inexperienced girl, but she meets Kian and suddenly she becomes the perfect submissive. Like, the very first time they meet. No anxiety whatsoever. Coming in public and begging for it. Really?! It doesn’t work like that, you know.
3) Their relationship. There’s basically no relationship. Except the sex, of course. I still don’t get why they fall in love. Everything happens so fast and without a reason, it’s actually unbelievable. By the first time they meet, they’re already pretty obsessed with each other; when they first meet at the club they just go inside like they’ve known each other since forever.
4) So Master K is a capable PI, very experienced with women. Many women want to be his next muse. He’s oh-my-god-so-amazing. Roisin is just one of the hundreds of women sending him a message and he’s suddenly smitten like a 15-year-old. Just like that. Without even knowing her. But wait, there’s more to it than that: being the experienced investigator he is, when he finds out that she’s media, consequences be damned!, even though he’s so focused on maintaining anonymity. Right.
5) The storyline is kinda sketchy and inconsistent. I’m giving it 3 stars because I’ve read worse books. The author doesn’t write that bad, but I don’t know. There’s room for a lot of improvement.

Not truly bad but seriously boring and I just can’t believe that an anxiety ridden heroine who rarely leaves her home meets up with a complete stranger she knows nothing of after starting an online conversation with him. He makes her submit to him online, taking naked pictures of herself (without face) and she doesn’t even want to know his age? What if he were a 60 years old creeper? D+

This story begins with Roisin, a troubled girl, running away from her seedy foster parents. It quickly jumps to a time 5 years later, at which time Roisin has been able to carve out a life for herself in Los Angeles. . She is a gentle, hidden, shy, almost reclusive author, who works as a writer for a magazine. This is a lovely story of a young woman who finds acceptance, self-worth and approbation through creating beauty with her words. But, now she needs and wants more. She wants to be accepted for who she is and what she innately desires.

Through a series of circumstances, and a deep yearning, Roisin connects with Master K, an erotic photographer. They begin communicating through his photographs and her poetry. They form a connection before they even meet. Her innocence into the BDSM lifestyle enraptures him. His willingness to introduce her to, and teach her about a lifestyle that has called to her since she was a teen enthralls her. These two souls are drawn together like each is a moth, and each is also the light. WOW! This story delves into the freedom of submission, and their interactions are seductive, sensual, sexy and hotter than Hades.

This is the first book I have read by Dani Rene, and I found it to be an erotically seductive story. I feel like this writer’s sensual words slowly, carefully, methodically lured my soul into becoming one with her characters. Her words wove a magic spell of erotic images that I will long remember.

Wow! I'm a huge fan of The Black Light Series! I was so excited when I heard about Obessed by Dani Rene. I can happily say I was definitely NOT disappointed. Obsessed is another phenomenal story to add to this amazing series.
I loved Kian and Roison's story so much I couldn't put it down. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Kian is a hot sexy alph dominant man with a beautiful heart. When he meets Roisen he can tell she's like no other woman he's ever met.
Roisen is a beautiful talented woman with a heartbreaking past. She's trying to cope with her past and her secret desires that's frowned upon by many. Her job gets her close to this fascinating man, Kian and she's more than curious about him. When Kian and Roison start to communicate Roison finds out there's way more to Kian than she ever could have imagined. Kian has a secret side to him that just might be what Roison needs to make her life feel complete again. These two have so much chemistry and passion with a sexy side of kink that pulls you in and it won't let go. Obsessed touched so many emotions I just can't express how much I loved it. You need to read Obsessed to see if they can love each other enough to overcome the struggles and secrets in their past.

Roisin is a writer for a magazine and lives her life like a recluse. She is given an assignment to interview an erotic photographer only known as Master K. Greer McCleary is Roisin's friend who keeps trying to get her to go out and meet people and socialize. When Rosie, aka Roisin does meet Kian, aka Master K, there is an almost instant attraction and Kian feels he's met the woman he could make his own. Rosie is introduced, slowly and gently into the BDSM lifestyle and she thrives with Master K's guidance. After living an abusive life as a foster child, Rosie needs the firm hand of a skilled dominant to get her through her emotional traumas and see that there is hope and love still to be had through her submission. I loved how understanding and gentle Kian was with Rosie and that he knew what he wanted and he worked towards getting it and not destroying the vulnerable Rosie in the process. Rosie had her limits and lived to protect them, but Kian had a gift of getting through to Rosie. I also loved the friends each had and after a few complications, I got the HEA I hope for when reading each installment of the Black Light books. Dani Rene wrote a fitting story to go with the Black Light series. I recommend this book.

Obsessed by Dani René is the newest release in the Black Light Series. If the rest of the stories in the Black Light Series are as hot and sexy as this, I've been missing out.

Roisin is a fragile young woman after having a rough couple of years but she is determined to change, she wants to be stronger. To do that she has to let go of her past. A work assignment asking her to figure out who Master K is might just help.

After his first marriage ended, Kian swore he would never marry again but when he is asked to teach Rosie about his secret lifestyle things start to change. There's something about her that is drawing his attention, but what?

I loved reading both of these characters. Their relationship starts to develop from the moment they meet, before that even. Rosie's fragility softening Kian's dark dominant exterior. They're both a perfect fit for each other, will they be able to see it too?

Dani Rene's words never fail to make me feel something, whether it's love or hatred, sadness or joy, her words always draw me into the story. Is there anything this author cannot write?!

Oh my God was this book amazing. I've read all over Dani's book's and I tell you I can't say which one is my favorite their all my favorite. This lady has such a way with her word's that it's like she put's you in a spell reading her word's as she pours her soul into each and every book. Roisin (Rosie) has had a hard life being in foster care that by the time she's 18 she's left broken and alone and Kian is divorced with a daughter he doesn't get to see but maybe 1 time a month a former CIA agent who's had to learn not to dwell on his past and to deal with his demons he goes to Black Light a BDSM club where anything is possible with enough money.
Rosie has grown up and made something of herself in the 5 year's she ran away from the foster home she'd been living in for 2 years waiting until she turned 18 she's still broken but she's been waiting for someone to love her to not throw her away then she finds Kian. Can Kian give her what she so desires... to be dominated. This book gave me chills with all the sexual heat that Dani put in each word holy smokes this book was like a five alarm fire and so damn worth reading.

This is just my opinion and my voluntary review

I love Black Light and I have to say how epic it is that the series creators have brought Dani Rene into the fold. They are adding some serious talent to the Black Light world and turning into a BDSM series that won't soon be forgotten.
There was one slight thing that threw me when first digging into Obsessed, and that is it's set away from the original Black Light, at the new Black Light (yay) and the place sounds incredible.
Dani Rene has provided us with a hunky photographer/investigator with a dark edge. Master K is sexy, possessive, but has that vibe that makes me think dangerous in all the good places. He has his own problems, but once his attention lands on Rosie, the fun begins.
Roisin is gorgeous and is a character I immediately fell in love with. She has a lot of issues and once you get into her back story, you can see why. The faith she puts into Kian is admirable, and between them, they have created an incredible story that shouldn't be missed.
Another fantastic addition to the Black Light world.

The Black Light Series is one of my absolute favorite and this latest addition is perfect for this series. The story of Kian and Roison is sexy, seductive, hot, heartwarming and so much more! Roison had a hard upbringing and was determined to make her life better. Her job tasked her with finding out more about Kian, who was a bit of a mystery, but wasn’t sure how to go about it. One day she found her in, and she went with it. Kian is a definite strong, alpha character that makes your heart beat with anticipation. These two have so much chemistry, it melts the pages of this book. From their first meeting, to everything in between and to the end, this story will keep you enthralled. It’s the kind of book that you just can’t put down. These characters belong together, but have so many secrets and things in their past that can keep them apart. If you want to know how they end up, then you must read this incredible story! A definite must read!

Obsessed is my first book to read from the Black Light series and it was simply amazing. If Obsessed is any indication of the other amazing books I will find I have found an enthralling and utterly addictive new series to read.

Roisin and Kian's story was beautiful, mesmerizing and kept me riveted from beginning to end. Both have been scarred from their pasts but when they get together sparks fly. Kian's photos paired with Roisin's captivating poems painted a vivid and beautiful image for me and held me captive as I devoured their story.

I honestly didn't expect to be emotionally drawn into Obsessed like I was. Both Roisin and Kian's past tore a bit at my heart as their struggles and secrets were revealed. I loved watching the trust develop between them and the sparks they created were enough to be felt through my Kindle. Obsessed is an amazingly addictive pageturner and a definite must read!

Dani René’s “Black Light: Obsessed” was amazing. There are so many things I want to say and I don’t know where to begin, so I might end up skipping around a bit. I really enjoyed both Kian’s and Roisin’s “obsession”. They were both compelling in their own ways even crossing the line of what some might consider stalker/taboo, which made it all the more enticing. Roisin’s backstory is tragic, to say the least, and that made her transformation so much more. And of course, the faithful friend and sidekick, Greer. The story itself is tightly constructed and moved at an even pace. The characters were well drawn. The relationship development between Kian and Roisin was grand fun to read and their romantic/erotic bits sexy enough to make your lady bits all hot and bothered. Since I might be slightly obsessed with the Black Light series, this was a welcome addition.

Black Light: Obsessed is book 9 in the Black Light series, as this is one the first one that I have read, I enjoyed it. As it can be read as a standalone, it may be more enjoyable reading them in order (as I will be going back to the begining).

As there are BDSM scenes that may not be favorable to everyone and flashbacks that are certain situations that maybe triggers, you may think about if you want to read this story.

No that is out of the way. I truly enjoyed this story. There is so much more to these charactures then the BDSM. The chemistry just jumps off the pages and sizzles. The writing style that Ms. Rene uses just grabs your attention and holds it till the end.

Kain and Roisin have their own emotional stuff going on. But when things start falling into place, can't their triggers and issues get in the way? READ IT and find out!!!

Another great book in the BlackLight series. Well written characters and descriptive. Roisin, aka Rosie, has had a hard life and she walked the minute she turned 18 and never looked back. Despite all she went through she became somewhat successful in life but there was something missing. She has a kinky side that she is yet to delve into. She finds about an erotic photographer, Master K. She seeks him out and knows he can show and teach her. Master K, aka Kian, takes an interest in her. They both need things from eachother. Their lives go along nicely until one day it hits the fan. Her drama, his drama. Can they make it through this bump in the road. Please read to find out. Such a great story. Always look forward to more in the BlackLight series.

I haven't read the previous books in this series but it's not necessary to enjoy this book.

When we first meet Roisin it's clear she has been through some very painful moments which cause her to leave. Years later it's clear that they have had a huge impact on how she lives her life. She has something she never has before a safe home and she's an author however she is a recluse preferring solitude over company. Kian is a very secretive photographer Master K she is tasked to find for a story.

I loved their interactions through her poetry and his photos. Even before they meet Kian recognises something dark in her. Her innocence of the BDSM world was enchanting and it's tutelage into that world was erotic to say the least. The way her submission and trust was written was perfectly pitched.

A very enjoyable story.

This is the night book in the Black Light series, but you can read it as a standalone without any trouble. It takes place in the new Black Light club in LA and it doesn't feature any of the previous characters.

It is the story of Roisin and Kain. Roisin is a young woman who carries around scars from her past, but she has longings and fantasies. Putting those into beautiful words is easy, but will she be strong enough to make them real?. She innocent in a lot ways, but also has an old soul.

Kian has been hurt by the woman he loved and hides behind the lens of his camera, but Roisin beauty and innocence captivates him.

It is beautiful story of two lost souls. It is sad, heartbreaking, sexy and full of hope. I enjoyed the combination of words and pictures.

What a wonderful wonderful story this was to read. Dani has really done a great job of this story. The story captures the Audience right away with the prologue, when Rosin a broken young lady leaves the people she is living with at the age of 18.
Five years later sees Rosin at her computer, she writes dark poems, that show her dark side, the side nobody sees. Given a job by her boss to find out about the Mysterious Master K, the man behind the beautiful pictures, she comes across Kian who is intrigued with her. He knows she is broken and with the Master/ Dom he is only he can fix what is broken.
A beautiful beautiful story, and honestly i couldnt help feel the emotion in this book, it certainly is worth 5 stars plus for me.
Well done Dani you have another fan!

Love the Blacklight series!
This is my 1st book by Dani and I love authors who write in dual point of view. This is the story of Rosie who was abandoned as a baby and had awful experiences with her 2 foster parents until she ran away. 5 years later Rosie is now a writer/blogger with fears of socializing who is asked to write a story about Master K, an anonymous photographer. Rosie connects with Kian after crediting one of his photos on her blog. Kian is drawn to Rosie’s word and offers to teach her to be a submissive. Everything is going fantastic, until Rosie’s unauthorized story is published. Will Kian let Rosie go? Will Rosie finally put her past behind her? You have to read to find out and won’t want to put the book down as cheering for Rosie and Kian’s happily ever after!
