Black Light Roulette is an annual BDSM contest where participants spin three kinks and then play for the night. Since it takes place on Valentine's Day, you can guess what happens with every couple.

Given the diverse number of couples, kinks, and dynamics, some stories will appeal more than others based on personal preference; that said, I do think there's something for everyone. In terms of general observations: I appreciated the consent, safewords, limits, and condoms; many couples had preexisting relationships (the wheel must be truly "magical"); and several end abruptly to be continued in the authors' other series. Below are my thoughts in order of story appearance. YMMV.

1) "Introduction," by Jennifer Bene & Livia Grant. The over-grown manchild is these authors' go-to dominant fantasy; since it's not mine, I always skim these framing stories (Spencer, in particular, is so toxic that it's unbelievable anyone would want to be around him). In addition, it trots out a conflict that the series has already done umpteen times: a West Coast vs. East Coast club rivalry. Too bad this series ended on such a been-there, done-that note. 2 stars.

2) "Jailbait," by Livia Grant. Age-Gap and opposites attract when Sadist Ian chooses our resident throuple's innocent Nanny. Shibari; Caning. This author is deeply invested in BDSM-As-Endurance-Contest; I'm not. Only by the magic of fiction does Kelsey never use her safe word. In addition, Ms. Grant's insistence that if you can't take pain, you can't do BDSM is completely wrong: players can enjoy several other kinks. That said, Ian is more careful than I'd thought he'd be, at least physically. Their story continues in the author's newest BDSM series, Dominion Ridge. He has a lot of groveling to do. Note: 5'10" is, uhm, actually very tall for a woman. 2 1/2 stars.

3) "Delayed," by Measha Stone. Ben scenes with his reluctant co-worker Eliana; what happens when she discovers his big secret? Edge Play & Pain Play. Decent story about two people who both like and respect each other; Ben does the usual dom double-standard ("you can't lie to me, but I can lie to you"); and I've never found orgasm denial convincing since it's impossible to control bodily responses as perfectly as these books would have you believe. 3 1/2 stars.

4) "Roommates," by Golden Angel. Didn't read since M/M isn't my preferred pairing, but I appreciate the diversity.

5) "Faith," by Kay Elle Parker. Opposites attract when Giant Evander spins abused Little Callie. Anal Play; Medical Play (including an enema); Urethal Play. This author's signature trope is torture porn melodrama; if you like that, you'll like this. I did appreciate Evander's patience. Their story turns to Age Play in the author's new club series, due to be released in June. Notes: If you are the son of a billionaire, you are not "self-made." And in the US, we say "line." 3 1/2 stars.

6) "Extreme," by Eden Bradley. Former slave Ishtar meets melancholy Kaeden...again. Knife Play; Forced Squirting; Primal Play. I can't fathom anyone wanting to be a slave, but there was something touching about both characters and the prose is among the strongest here. Their story continues later this year. Note: Ishtar hails from the author's The Training House: Box Set series, which is way too hard-core for me. 4 stars.

7) "Challenge," by Claire Thompson. Enemies-to-lovers between ex-coworkers and rivals Grace & Dylan. Humiliation; Face-Slapping; Breath Play; Whipping; Caning; Blood Play. This was just okay for me. I might have felt differently if I hadn't read the stories in order, but this brought nothing new to the table. Like "Delayed," the pair has a pre-existing work relationship. Like "Jailbait," the submissive would rather risk her physical and emotional well-being than say "red." Like "Extreme," the kinks were, well, extreme (and ones that I personally find unpleasant). There was nothing technically wrong with this story, but it was too derivative to be interesting. That said, the characters were likeable. Note: This references the author's Masters Club Box Set series. 3 stars.

8) "Meanwhile," by Jennifer Bene and Livia Grant. See #1. 2 stars.

9) "Limitless," by Jennifer Bene. Javier spins every man's wet dream: a beautiful woman experienced in BDSM with no limits, but Sasha isn't as helpless as he thinks. CNC; Whipping. This was another It-Isn't-BDSM-Unless-It's-An-Endurance-Contest story; the willingness to have unprotected sex with a complete stranger was beyond idiotic; and it's unbelievable that someone in the lifestyle for over a decade would never have heard of these kinks. Finally, the characters weren't for me. I hated Javier, who is nothing more than the embodiment of toxic masculinity; and Sasha displays an appalling lack of self-preservation -- it's only by the magic of fiction that she doesn't end up in the hospital. Add in the non-ending (though one line of action was resolved) and this was 2 stars.

10) "Ruined," by Becca Jameson. Second-chance romance between Boyd and the woman he ghosted a year ago. Sybian; Medical Play; Sounding; Enema. Not really enjoyable since Macy was, understandably, upset with Boyd the entire time; it was very repetitious; and NMK. Note: This references the author's new BDSM series, Marigold. 2 1/2 stars.

11) "Alphabet," by Lila DuBois. Jaded Mercedes worries that Jalen will be boring; he isn't. Anal; Bondage; Chains (ABC -- get it?). The characters were likable and I believed in their connection. That said, no one in Mercedes' line of work would even think of allowing someone to harm their feet; and when he yanked out that anal plug, how did she not end up in the ER? Note: This title references Ms. DuBois' "Alphabet Checklist" series. As a fan, I've always wondered if Black Collar Press got their Valentine Roulette idea from those books. Both share salient plot points (exclusive BDSM club hosts artificially paired couples who engage in pre-assigned kink play over a finite period of time and form an insta-connection) and Ms. Dubois' series predates "Roulette" by three years. Glad that "Q" & "R" are coming soon! 4 stars.

12) "Jammed," by Stella Moore. Impact Play; Sensory Deprivation; Caning; Role Play/Interrogation; Spitting. Bandmates are paired together; is this lovelorn Ice's chance to win the woman of his dreams? This was a pleasant story between two long-time friends and colleagues until Ice took advantage of the situation to force Silver into revealing personal information against her will. Any so-called "dominant" who would do something so underhanded doesn't deserve the title. That Silver continued to trust him was due to this author's artificial manipulation of the plot and not to any believable response. Finally, the ending was a complete downer, though I assume the author will continue it at some point, and parts of it were just gross (unless spitting into someone's mouth turns you on). 2 stars.

13) "Precious," by Pepper North. Secret Little Ilona meets not so secret Daddy Beauden. Wild Card; Paddling; Praise Kink; Age Play/ABDL/Enema (of course). This was a sweet story between two likable people as Beauden tries to boost Ilona's confidence, but her Little tendencies came out of left field and his dialogue was so stiff and artificial that it was laughable: it read like a parody of an old-fashioned bodice ripper (“Such fire lives inside of you, Ilona"). I'm also tired of DD/lg, but that's a "me" problem. It does, at least, have an actual ending -- which is more than many others did. 3 stars.

14) "Conclusion," by Jennifer Bene & Livia Grant. See #1. 2 stars.

Some reviewers mention a story by Samantha Cole ("Rebound") that's not in my KU version.

3 1/2 stars. Overall, I think most fans will enjoy this. For me, too many are not only unfinished, but also end unhappily and I'm just not in the mood for that right now. Much of this book is really a teaser for other series. The editing was inconsistent (it's either 3 or 4 hard limits; either the sub or the dom spin for kinks). And, unless I missed it, one throughline on the East Coast was never resolved. Note: Although stand-alone books in the series will continue, the authors indicate that this is the last anthology: an odd decision from a marketing standpoint since these sell well, but perhaps there are other reasons.

This Valentine's Day Black Light Roulette is off to a sensational start! The magic of the wheel pairing two people with mind blowing accuracy. Spencer and Elijah, as always being competitive, will challenge East vs West to break the tie that they currently have, and may the best club win!
But now there is a twist.
Jailbait by Livia Grant paired Kelsey and Ian and the start of Dominion Ridge. And what a fabulous and riveting coupling. So excited for this next series!
Five stars for Delayed by Measha Stone. Ben and Eliana's pairing was mind blowing and so yummy.
Golden Angel gave us Roommates with Grant and Damian and this duo have hidden their feelings for so long and it was beautiful to watch their lust come forward.
Absolutely loved Faith by Kay Elle Parker with Evander and Calypso. I fell in love with Callie and all her cute little quirks.
My heart was breaking in Extreme by Eden Bradley. Ishtar and Kaeden are paired together and Ishtar is challenged after being away from her life that she has led for many years.
Limitless by Jennifer Bene was a thrilling read with Sasha and Javier. Their spin on the magic roulette was very exciting and mouth-watering.
Challenge by Claire Thompson with Grace and Dylan. This couple are workmates, which makes for a very awkward evening.
Ruined by Becca Jameson was an emotional read with Boyd and Macy because they have a past history but can Boyd explain and convince her to take a chance?
Loved Alphabet by Lila DuBois with Jalen and Mercedes and their alphabet of spins!
Jammed by Stella Moore with Elias and Amanda, these two know each other outside of Black Light but will their relationship survive after one night of wheel spins?
I really enjoyed Precious by Pepper North with Ilona and Beauden and Ilona discovering herself.
What a sensational and very fitting ending to this anthology! I absolutely loved how Jax, Chase and Emma handled the closing of this Roulette! Such a powerful trio!

Roulette Finale is done. And thanks to Golden Angel,i got to see the final night.
At the East coast as well as the West coast.
With sadists and masochists, a gay and bi couple,age gap and age play,second chances,Master and slave, and more.
With first in new series that i look forward to,and stories that are just starting.
It was a rollercoaster-ride that i enjoyed véry much,and that’s over way too soon.
One that i’ll remember for a long time…..

A bet that Jaxson better not find out about,because he doesn’t want the clubs competing anymore after last year’s debacle.

4 stars Jailbait by Livia Grant is about Kelsey,nanny to the Cartwright Davidson twins.
She’s determined to play at Roulette night,but needs to convince her bosses.
In the end,she’s allowed to play at the east coast club. The Dom she ends up with,is Ian. He’s a sadist,single and set in his ways.
He’s convinced Kelsey is jailbait,a young woman out to catch a wealthy,older man. Finding her at Roulette night is surprising. Being paired up and enjoying her responses is even more of a surprise. The biggest,however,is finding out who she works for…..

3stars Delayed by Measha Stone is about co-workers Eliana and Ben. He’s been interested in her for years,but after overhearing her telling her friend Maureen she didn’t date colleagues,he never acted on it. Finding out she’s playing Roulette may be his only chance to change her mind. Eliana may have been interested in Ben,but they work só well together,and she’s worried that might be ruined if they dated and failed. Playing together is an eye-opener for her,in more ways than one…..

4 stars Roommates by Golden Angel.
Grant has wanted Damian ever since they became roommates,but Damian hasn’t got a clue because Grant had a girlfriend at the time. And later on,it became even harder to explain he was bi. But his besties helped him set up a way to show Damian how he felt. By being the only m/m pair for Roulette. Damian only signed up for Roulette to find a way to get over the feelings he had for Grant,but seeing him standing there was a shock to his system. He was however determined to find out why Grant clearly set him up.

4 stars Faith by Kay Elle Parker. Evander,aka Master No,knew what he wanted. And being in D.C. at Roulette Night,he was ready to get it. Just not with that innocent looking subbie with the big grey eyes…Callie wasn’t ready,no way! Her bestie swore it was time to pick up life after the devastating state her ex left her in. But she still was a mess,even though her little disagreed. The Viking she was paired with turned out to be exactly what the doctor ordered,though!

4 stars Extreme by Eden Bradley. Ishtar is at the end of her slave contract at the Primal Ranch. She’s uncertain about her future,and her Master and Mistress send her to Roulette Night. Kaeden is surprised to see Ishtar there,but she’s been on his mind ever since he saw her at the Ranch,and this is like the perfect gift. Their play is extreme,but so are the feelings that surface for both….and then she calls red.

4 stars Challenge by Claire Thompson. Grace is looking forward to Roulette Night,even if she’s not a sub,but simply a sexual masochist. Until she finds out she’s paired with the only man she doesn’t want to play with,ever. Her ex co-worker Dylan. Dylan can’t believe his eyes,is that really the stuck-up Grace he used to work with? But both are in for a pleasant surprise once they start to play and let go of old beliefs…

Meanwhile on the West Coast by Livia Grant and Jennifer Bene. Madison is nervous. She may act like a Domme tonight,but she has to deal with Spencer and she’s worried he’s going to ruin things. Trevor even promises he’ll punch him in the face if he doesn’t behave. Luckily,after a rough start where he acts like an a**, he backs down and lets her do her thing.

3stars Ruined by Becca Jameson. Boyd ruined Macy when he ghosted her after a perfect time together. But now she was ready to play again,and Roulette Night was thé opportunity. Play with a stranger,for one night only. Boyd always regretted cutting ties with Macy,but he wasn’t ready for more at the time. But now he was going to do everything to get her back,and Roulette Night would be a good start.

3 stars Alphabet by Lila DuBois. Mercedes longs to play with a Dom that takes her serious,and knows how to plan a scene. Jalen looks forward to playing at Roulette Night,but the first spin at the wheel puts him off his game. Anal,just anal. What is he supposed to do with that? When his sub for the evening doesn’t look impressed,and he finds out why,he’s determined to show her he’s the perfect Dom for her. Even if the next spin only gives them one word,again!

3 stars Jammed by Stella Moore. Amanda,aka Silver,just broke up with Ace,again. And for real this time. She signed up for Roulette to get him out of her head,permanently. But the Dom she’s paired with,is another member of the band she and Ace are in. Elias,aka Ice, is shocked at being paired with Silver. But he wants to find out what went wrong now,plus he wants to give her a good time. If only for one night….

3 stars Precious by Pepper North. Ilona longs to let go of the stress of being an accountant for a movie studio. To forget she’s a plain Jane for a moment,and simply enjoy Roulette Night with a perfect Dom. The one she ends up with,Beauden,looks the part…Beauden has been looking for a precious girl for a long time,and once he saw Ilona,he knew he’d do anything to convince her they were meant to be.

I expected more from this book. There was this pattern male Dom, female submissive in almost every story. There was only one exception - MM couple. Also half of couples knew each other before this event. So there was a lot of unfinished and unsaid about their stories. Some of them will have their own books, but lot of them will not.

Another pissing contest. It was annoying. I wanted to slap them to stop comparing their dicks.

Kelsey and Ian did not know each other before roulette. Kelsey is nanny in Jaxson, Chase and Emma household. She is like family to them. Of course man part of the household is very protective of her, so she has very little experience with BDSM. But she wants to try her luck in roulette. After long discussion they all agree she can attend roulette Black Light East Coast. At the airport she meets Ian. He acts like jerk. But what is new. It seems that most times dom equals jerk in this type of books. I hate that he calls he jailbait whole time. I like Kelsey in the beginning of the story. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to be vocal about that. But then she somehow needs to prove, that she can take caning. It was disappointing. Story continues in Cruel Choices in new series.

I like this story. Ben and Elaine are co-workers. He saw her in club few times, but she did not know about that. Fortunately roulette put them together. They play together. I like that she tries to set limit within the play and Ben respects that. She even uses her safeword when she overreacts. But Dom apologized for not telling the truth.

I really liked this couple. I wish it was longer story and we see more of the couple. They are roommates and had crush on each other. Grant signs up for roulette without Damians knowledge. He knows they will be put together. Damian is angry at first (he thinks Grant is straight), but continues to play. They really clicked.

Faith by Kay Elle Parker, kinks: anal sex, medical play, rating 0 stars
Calypso/Callie is abuse survivor. First by her father, then by her only boyfriend. She has scars to prove it. She acts and talks like a child when she is nervous, uncomfortable. For me it is her coping mechanism, not her hidden little side. I did not feel chemistry between them. And for me Dom does not respect submissive s hard limit. Maybe other readers do not think so. She put watersport as one of four hard limits. In medical play scene she needs to pee, so he uses to catheter on her so she empties her bladder in front everyone. Of course nobody has problem with that. Story continues in Leap of Faith (summer 2023).

Extreme by Eden Bradley, kinks: knife play, forced squirting, primal play, rating DNF
This story is weird for me. I do not finish, but skipped to end. Ishtar is submissive with slave training. I do not really understand why was she in training or why is she participating in roulette. Their story continues this summer. No title yet.

Challenge by Claire Thompson, kinks: humiliation, breath play, blood play, rating 1 star
Do not like the story. Characters are former co-workers who do not like each other. I do not like these characters. She tells she will not safeword. One submissive in club called safeword and she called her quitter. That is messed up.

Limitless by Jennifer Bene, kinks: CNC, rating 1 star
Another submissive with no limits. Grrr. She says she has over decade experience in BDSM but does not act like it. No limits because she wants to broaden her horizon. Ok, but no limits???? Later we see that she did not even have anal sex or does not know what CNC mean. When he says rape play she is still not sure what it means. So what experience does she have? At least I would assume she look up information about kinks on the roulette to know what to expect for gods sake. There was abrupt ending.

Former lovers Macy and Boyd are participating in roulette and they are put together. Of course, there is tension because Boyd ghosted Macy. I do not like Boyd. He is pushing Macy. In the end he wants her to go to hotel with him. She tells him she will not sleep with him. But he pushes.

I like this story, like characters. Submissive was sassy.

Jammed by Stella Moore, kinks: impact play, sensory deprivation, role play (interrogation), rating 1 star
Ice/Elias and Silver/Amanda know each other. They are in successful band. Also Silver s ex boyfriend is Ice s best friend. Relationship with ex-boyfriend was toxic and abusive. They were on and off for years. Silver does not want to talk about relationship with her ex. So what does our Dom do? One of my pet peeves – interrogation. Because if she does not want, he will force her. Story will maybe continue.

I like this story. That instant love was too much for me, but story was nice.

While I enjoyed some of the stories in this anthology, one theme seemed to come across in much of these stories. Almost an enemies to lover sort of theme. That, and a submissive that wouldn’t use her safe word no matter what. I saw that in the Jailbait story and Challenge. In Jailbait, I found Kelsey to be young, naive, immature and fool hearty. She is so wanting a chance to win a 30 day membership that she’d put herself in a dangerous situation. These women seemed to think with their V instead of their brain. Ian on the other hand, was nothing but a sadistic AH who had no business being a so called Dom.
The story called Faith was another one that I didn’t care for. Callie came out of an extremely abusive relationship and starts to scene again with a total AH Dom. She did absolutely nothing wrong, so when he said he was going to spank her, I would have used my safe word and told him to take a flying leap somewhere. Of course, that’s putting it very nicely in print. I truly have to wonder if women are that weak to put up with these types of Doms. There isn’t enough domestic abuse shelters available! The one story that I really enjoyed was Precious by Pepper North. To me, he acted like a caring, sensual Daddy. I received an advanced copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

Another great Black Light Roulette anthology and I am sad that it will be the last one but it is so good. Such a variety of kinks and players, some we have met before, some we will meet again in other stories and some we know how it works out now.

Jailbait by Livia Grant
We have met Kelsey before but never like this, desperate to attend Roulette Kelsey implores Jaxson to let her attend. The interaction between the three Cartwright Davidsons and Kelsey is priceless and thank goodness for Emma’s rational, logical approach. Kelsey has to fly to the East coast Black Light but thank goodness she does because that is where she is paired with Ian and while there is no resolution in the story, we will meet them again in the new Dominion Ridge series.

This was one of my favourite storys and although it seems destined for an unhappy ending when Eliane calls red, all is not as it seems and there is a happy ending.

Roommates by Golden Angel
I am not usually a reader of M/M stories I really enjoyed this one. Grant and Damian are roommates each feeling out the other and this is their coming together and while incredibly hot it is also very sweet.

Faith by Kay Elle Parker
Another of my favourites and for fans of Kay Elle Parker’s Avalon series, Evander is a new character introduced in her latest book and Faith was a wonderful way to get to know him. Callie has been severely abused in the past, but her friend persuades her to put her name in. Evander is the perfect partner for her and while there is a happy for now ending to their story, more is promised in the future.

Extreme by Eden Bradley
This was a story that made me a little uncomfortable and in fact I cringed at some points, but it was also fascinating and not a little compelling, the further I read. This is a voyage of discovery for Ishtar and it seems that Kaeden is the man to help her discover what she really wants. While there is no resolution in this story, they will get their own book.


Challenge by Claire Thompson
Grace and Dylan were rivals at work until Dylan resigned to go back to New York. Lack of understanding the other led to animosity at least on Grace’s part. Dylan is honest about his feelings and doesn’t want to just walk away, fortunately Grace agrees.

Ruined by Becca Jameson
Boyd and Macy are another second time around couple and Boyd wants to make sure Macy knows what happened a year ago. Macy agrees to talk after Roulette but has no intention of following through. However Boyd persuades her to come back to his hotel where he finally confesses why he ghosted her. The medical scene is incredible in this story.

Alphabet by Lila DuBois
Mercedes underestimates Jalen as he doesn’t seem very dynamic. Boy was she wrong. They roll anal, bondage and chains and does Jalen deliver, amazing Mercedes and rocking her world. In true Lila fashion we have begun the alphabet and Mercedes is a happy woman prepared to go all the way to Z.

Jammed by Stella Moore
Band mates Elias and Mandy do not expect to see each other at Roulette, much less be paired together. They are in a band together, but Mandy is the on again/off again girlfriend of Elias' best friend and bandmate. Mandy won’t tell Elias why they broke up, but what Ace had done is really despicable. Their night is wonderful and Elias confesses how he feels about Mandy but there is no HEA in this story, perhaps a future book?

Precious by Pepper North
Beauden is an art collector paired with Ilona an accountant who does not think she is beautiful. Through a scene where he uses a mirror he proves to her how beautiful he finds her. It is a great scene and very moving. Then it is revealed that he is a Daddy and Ilona is a little. This couple get a happy ever after.

An amazing and varied selection of stories that will have you turning the pages to see if the wheel is magical or not.

While I'm sad that this is the last Black Light Roulette anthology, most of the stories were great and I'm eagerly looking forward to a few of them either being expanded on or another book for the couple in the future.

1. Jailbait by Livia Grant
The start of a new series by Livia Grant is always fun. Kelsey, who is the nanny for the trio, finally gets her chance at Black Light. But being matched with Ian is NOT what either of them expected. I have to admit that Ian kind of ticked me off at first but as you read, you can see the change in him. The story ends and we're left hanging but I'm so glad we're going to get their full story later on this year.

2. Delayed by Meash Stone
Ben and Elaina work together. She didn't know he was also a member of Black Light until Roulette night but Ben knew who she was and he's been watching her scene with another Dom. When they get paired up, they play but she overhears something and calls RED!!! Can these two get their act together?

3. Roommates by Golden Angel
I love a good MM story and Golden Angel has a wonderful little story. Grant and Damian are room mates and while Damian is openly gay, Grant has been hiding that he's bisexual. Grant kind of set up him being paired with Damian because he's attracted to him. What happens when Damian figures out the truth? This was one of my favorite stories.

4. Faith by Kay Elle Parker
Callie signs up for Roulette to help her get over the abuse she suffered at the hands of a bad Dom. Evander is a giant of a Dome who has a peculiar taste when it comes to playing with subs. Some of the scenes they engaged in would be hard limits for me but reading them was so hot. Callie is spunky and I loved her. Also love the way Evander took care of her during their time together. This story, even though it took place at Black Light, will be the start of a new series for Kay and I can't wait for it.

5. Extreme by Eden Bradley
This story was a little hard to get into at first because of the spins and the Master/Slave thing. As I read, it because easier and Kaeden and Ishtar started growing on me. Ended up loving it. And I'm looking forward to more of their story later on.

6. Challenge by Claire Thompson
While the story was very well written, this was one I just couldn't get into. Maybe because the spins were ones I have trouble reading in the first place. I did love the way that Dylan took care of Grace. I'll probably read it again and see if something changes for me!

7. Ruined by Becca Jameson
A second chance of being together for Macy and Boyd. He ghosted her a year ago and being paired up would either get them back together or keep them apart forever. Totally loved it!

8. Alphabet by Lila DuBois
This was an interesting story. Jalen and Mercedes get paired up and the spins land in alphabetical order. Wasn't a lot of drama in this one and it was good.

9. Jammed by Stella Moore
I love a well written rock star story and Stella Moore "rocked" hers. Ice and Silver were so hot together but both are not sure where this will go, especially where her ex is concerned. Oh, he's also part of the band! I'm really looking forward to this series and hope we don't have to wait long to get the next book! I NEED to know what happens between these two.

10. Precious by Pepper North
Oh how I loved this story. Ilona and Beauden we so wonderful together and I even went back and read this one again. Pepper North is one of my favorite authors.

I didn't get the other story by Jennifer Bene in time to read it but I will edit my review here when I get it finished.

This was, all in all, a wonderful anthology.

There is nothing better than a Valentine Roulette montage!
Intro Spencer is hot to have the meeting over for the upcoming Valentine Roulette (VR) especially after Elijah reminds him that Black Light West won last year. Spencer gets Elijah to set the stage for an East vs West winner take all competition, but on the down low from Jaxson. What will happen when Jaxson discovers their little scheme, you have to read to find out!

No Help Wanted – Elixxir walks in early to VR to discover Elijah struggling with not being needed by the DMs and bartender. Spencer’s style of running Black Light East was not what he was used to!

Jailbait – Loved Kelsey’s determination to be a part of VR by winning Jaxson’s OK, and how she is deemed jailbait by none other than Ian at their calamity at the airport. Being paired with Ian and getting to experience one of her hopeful kinks by the drop of a ball, makes it seem like all is going to go well! This one leaves you hoping for their story to continue.

Delayed – What’s not to love when coworkers for 3 years Eliana and Ben who have secretly admired each other are paired by the roulette wheel! Ben’s dominance is a new thing for Eliana who had always set the scene with her prior dom. The scene get steamier by the minute and all looks fantastic between them, until it isn’t. I shouted “NO” to Eliana’s reaction and hoped that it would all work itself out!

Roommates – Grant and Damian are roommates and each secretly had a thing for the other. But it’s not until VR where Grant pulled in a favor to get paired with Damian that Damian discovers that he has been played and is none to happy about. The roulette wheel spins give them a lot to discover about each other, and oh how the night gets a whole lot steamier!

Faith - Callie is the quintessential little that presses all the right buttons with Evander, aka Master No. Their time scening at VR will have you chuckling at Callie’s little and make Evander more endearing. Yet when the night ends, will Callie be able to sieze the day and leave with Evander? You have to read to find out and will hope there is a followup story on them.

Extreme – Ishtar needs a dom with something more to help her figure out what to do with her life and when she recognizes Kaeden amongst the doms, she prays to whoever the pagen god she passed on her way in to pair her with this feral dom! Kaeden is beyond ecstatic that he spun Ishtar for the night after he admired her at Primal Ranch. Their scenes are intense and take Ishtar out of her comfort zone. I need more of Ishtar and Kaeden!

Challenge – I loved Grace’s strength to want to win a free month at Black Light and even still with the odds of getting paired with her hot, ex-coworker, Dylan! I equally loved Dylan who knows how to push Grace’s buttons to agree to the challenge of the roulette wheel. What follows is delicious and intense kink that Grace has never experienced before as Dylan takes her to new highs! Can’t wait for more of Dylan and Grace!

Dungeon Master vs. Mistress A brief overview of how well (or not) Spencer fits in at Black Light West and Mistress Madison is just the one to do it!

A very interesting beginning of a new series. The couple was great and I can't wait for more.

Delayed.... Measha Stone Eliana and Ben
This was a sm**y story. One of my favorite couples.

Roommates...... Golden Angel Grant and Damian
An MM story. I seldom read this pairing, but the characters were very engaging and well written. I liked it.

Faith......Kay Elle Parker Callie and Evander
This couple had very different kinds of kinks but they merged them very well. Another of my favorite couples.

Extreme..... Eden Bradley Ishtar and Kaeden
TBH I don't really enjoy high protocol stories. This was well written.

Challenge.... Claire Thompson Grace and Dylan
This story definitely lived up to its title.

Ruined... Becca Jameson Macy and Boyd
This was my #1 favorite couple/story. A second chance romance.

Alphabet.... Lila Dubois Ms. Mercedes and Mr. Dodge
Absolutely loved their monikers. A very sassy sub. A great story.

Jammed.... Stella Moore Amanda and Elias
A prequel, if you will. An interesting pairing. Can't wait for more.

Precious.... Pepper North Ilona and Bearden
One of my absolute favorite authors. A very different type of story than her usual, but it was awesome.

Rebound..... Samantha A. Cole

I was disappointed when I heard this would be the final Black Light Roulette compilation, although there will still be more books about individual couples. Having read it, I am no longer disappointed - whilst some of the stories were great, it is clear the authors are running out of ideas. So tired of medical play scenes, and the amount of anal play/sex is getting truly ridiculous! The subs in these stories seem to be able to take ridiculous amounts of pain without safewording, this is completely unrealistic - particularly the inexperienced subs. Anyone who has real life experience of BDSM will have been rolling their eyes on a regular basis whilst reading.

I had zero interest in the story about two gay/bi men, although that is down to personal taste. They could at least have balanced it out with a story about two women if they wanted to include more variety. Unlike many others, I am not a fan of the trio either - Jaxson annoys me in the way he bullies Emma sometimes, she is an insecure wimp, not my favourite when it comes to female characters. I do like Chase though. The "secret" bet between Spencer and Elijah was just silly and a completely unnecessary part of the story. Still, I rated the book 3 stars for the stories I did enjoy, plus a bit of nostalgia for the earlier compilations. Looking forward to reading more individual stories in the Black Light series but am sadly not going to miss the demise of Roulette compilations.

It is with a tear in my eye I write this!
During all the years I have enjoyed not only the Black Light standalones, but especially the annual Valentine Roulette, I was thrilled by the outstanding quality of the authors Ms's Grant and Bene have collected in their Black Light stable.
They have delivered the very best spinetingling, sensuous, thrilling stories with interesting, believable backstories you can imagine. This book is no exception, it even seems as if all the authors have given their stories a last hug and goodbye-kiss!
Now, with this last spin of the Roulette wheel an era has come to an end and we'll never hear the clink of that ball falling into the magic wheel again.
But, there is one thing I have learned in my life.
Never say never!

There were two books in the anthology that I really wanted to read, my rating and review is based on them

Challenge – Claire Thompson
This was a sexy and intense enemies to BDSM partners. Grace and Dylan has been work rivals, unaware they were both in the lifestyle. Their pairing by the roulette wheel shows them they have more than just work in common, as their kinks line up very nicely. The sparks are there for the start of something more!

Alphabet – Lila Dubois
These two started out one way, and it quickly turned into something so much more! Great chemistry, devious Dom, and a real connection. They quickly ended up on the same wavelength, and it was awesome!

What a great compilation of authors and stories! Some authors are new to me, some are familiar and a few are among my favorites. There is lots of spice and sizzle, some angst, some drama, some remorse and some recriminations. Two things happened as I read these novellas. One; i wanted to read more about each couple. I plan on reading some of the follow-up books involving the couples who really piqued my interest and two; I now need to go back and re-read all of my previous Black Light books. The first five stories take place at Black Light D.C. the remainder at Black Light Beverly Hills.

Livia Grant and Jennifer Bene pen the prologue and conclusion to this anthology. They throw in some delightful twists that leave some of the Black Light employees just a bit off kilter if not absolutely grumpy. In the conclusion, Jaxson puts a remarkably fine point on how he expects both the east and west coast clubs to not only peaceably coexist but to work together because thay are all considered one big family.

Jailbait - Livia Grant
What are the chances that two people involved in a slightly embarrassing airport encounter end up as a paired couple for Black Light Roulette? Ian is a grumpy sadist Dom who, all too quickly makes incorrect assumptions about his temporary sub. Kelsey is a BDSM newbie longing to get away from the chaffing of overprotecting friends. He may call her Jailbait because of her young, fresh faced, wide eyed appearance but his edgy, hard core demeanor plays right into her deepest desires. Their first spin challenge is deeply satisfying for both of them but the second spin of the roulette wheel may be a bridge too far. Will they both cross it?

I definitely want to read more of this couple.

Delayed - Measha Stone
They're co-workers and have worked on projects together. Ben has watched Eliana's scenes surreptitiously for a while, choosing to stay in the shadows so as not to embarrass her. Now they're paired up for Valentine Roulette. He finally gets the chance to have his hands on this alluring woman. To say she's shocked to meet the Dom she's paired with would be putting it mildly. Do they dare venture down this road? Will it ruin their working relationship? Make things awkward at the workplace? There's really only one way to find out. He plays her body like a maestro, giving her immeasurable pleasure. He finally fulfills his desire to completely dominate her. Unfortunately a misplaced word and an overheard conversation abruptly terminates, what has been up until now, an extraordinary evening. It's time for complete honesty and a bit of groveling in the hopes of repairing the rift. They both want more...so maybe.

Roommates - Golden Angel
Grant needed a way to let Damian know that not only bi but he was submissive too. Instead of honest communication, he practices a little deceit and manipulates his selection in Roulette night. The only reason Damian agrees to the request for a gay Dom in Roulette night is that he needs to get over his feelings for his very straight, very vanilla roommate. Imagine his surprise when said roomate is on the Black Light stage among the other subs. Realizing that he's been played, it's time for a little revenge. Dominating Grant is no hardship and while he exacts a bit of torture, Damian knows that they've turned a corner and there's no going back to platonic roommates. You van be sure Grant isn't going to object.

Faith - Kay Elle Parker
Callie has only one experience with a Dominant and a sexual relationship. It was abusive and left her scarred both mentally and physically. She's a Black Light tonite to make some memories that may overwrite the bad ones.Wouldn't you know she'd be paired with a very tall, muscled man who seemingly looks down his nose at her. Evander, otherwise known as Master No, finds out just how brazen and sassy she is when she thoroughly schools him on his behavior. I must admit I chuckled a lot at the banter between them. The activities they get from the roulette wheel will be a challenge for them both. Evander has a few unusual kinks and despite the short amount of time they've known each other Callie trusts him enough to allow him to use them on her. Even before the end of the night he knows he can't let her just walk away. Although she wants to protect her heart, she has no desire to leave him either.

Extreme - Eden Bradley
For almost a decade Ishtar has lived as a slave and as such she's seen it all, done it all or had it all done to her. She's been trained to the nth dgree. But now she's at a crossroads. Living in the real world, having ordinary conversations, doing mundane real world tasks is foreign to her. It's been years since she's been inside a BDSM club and while she a bit nervous, she is also anticipating what may happen. Kaedan, is a sadist who plys on the extreme side of BDSM. Being paired with Ishtar is unbelievably lucky. He's seen herbefore and knows how deeply entrenched in the lifestyle she is. Their roulette activities are edgy as not for the faint of heart. Yet as highly satisfying as they were there's an underlying emotionality to them that neither he nor Ishtar has experienced in many years. Where that leaves them is the question.

Challenge - Claire Thompson
Dylan and Grace are co-workers or at least they were because he'd recently resigned from the highly competitive banking firm where they both worked. They'd found themselves at odds on several occasions. She was the only female and as such earned the reputation of being a ball breaker. Running across one another and then being paired for Black Light Roulette may give them a chance to get to know one another on an entirely different level. Grace is insistent that she's only a sexual masochist not a submissive. He disagrees and just may prove her wrong. If nothing else he's up for the challenge and will definitely have to draw on all his experience as the all three of their activities are definitely edgy. As their night draws to a close it's readily apparent that they have a connection worth exploring.

Ruined - Becca Jameson
Fate can be cruel at times. What are the odds that Macy would be paired with the man who ghosted on her and broke her heart a year ago? Conversely, Boyd can't believe his good fortune to be paired with the woman he let slip through his fingers. He'll be the first to admit it was entirely his fault. Now he has three short hours to try and convince Macy to forgive him an give him a second chance. It would seem Fate continues to smile on him as the activities they get from the wheel spins align with his plans to win Macy back.

Alphabet - Lila Dubois
Mercedes' overall submissive experience has left much to be desired. By signing up for Black Light Roulette she hoped to be paired with an enthusiastic, inspired Dom rather that the frustratingly lackluster Doms she's been scening with. Master Dodge, AKA Jalen, gives of a laid back rather nonchalant air but underneath there's a stern, no nonsense, inventive Master. As such a disappointed Mercedes is not forthcoming when answering his initial questions thereby earning herself an immediate punishment before then even bein to seen. She quickly learns that Jalen is anything but lackluster or disinterested. Each of the three activities these two get from the roulette wheel really push Jalen's creativity. But in the end their shared experience spurs them to continue scening with one another after tonight.

Jammed - Stella Moore
Elias "Ice" Turner truly feels at home when he's at Black Light. It's the one place where he can be himself, doesn't have to be "on" and doesn't have to be a rockstar. When he spies Amanda "Silver" Sterling at Black Light his Zen goes out the window. She's a fellow band member who's in an on again, off again relationship with another band member which makes her off limits. Whenever they're off again, Silver plays at Black Light. Over time they've both watch the other's scenes from the shadows. Tonight seems to be their lucky night be ause the roulette wheel has paired them. Their scene activities are intense and while at the start of the their first scene, Ice and Silver lapse into their usual friendly banter it doesn't take long for Ice's Dom persona to e ert itself. Figuring he's only going to have just this three hours with her, he goes for broke and pursues the fantasies he's had about her since they were in high school. She'll be able to indulge in her fantasies too but it can go no farther. The intensity, the pleasure, the honesty are intense as well as heartwrenching because crossing that imaginary line would do irreparable damage to their band and that would be untenable.

Precious - Pepper North
Ilona Vale joined Black Light as a way to relieve her job stress. Here she can just let go, even if for just a few hours. Beauden Blake is a connoisseur of priceless art treasures and he's also a man in search of his own priceless treasure of a sub. He just may have found that in Ilona. Their spin activities have given him free reign over choosing their scenes. He slowly nudges, pushes and pulls in the finale direction he wants them to take. He recognizes the hidden Little that bubbles just under Ilona's surface which could not please him more because he is definitely a Daddy Dom. The culmination of their scening together solidifies his insights. He knows after they spend the night together that he wants her forever. Thankfully she wants that too.

Jailbait – Livia Grant
Their first meeting didn’t go so well, especially since Master Ian thought she was a schoolgirl. Imagine his surprise when he see her at Black Light and Kelsey (aka Jailbait as he named her) turns out to be his paring after his roll the roulette wheel. Considering the misunderstanding and neither willing to bend – So Master Ian is just going to have to be the Dom that he is – which going to make their next three hours very interesting. However, by the end of the night, through a slip of the tongue Ian finds out exactly who Kelsey works for. Unfortunately for him what he says leaves Kelsey crying and running away… (to be continued in Cruel Choices)

Delayed – Measha Stone
Master Ben has wanted his co-worker Eliana for a long time except she doesn’t know it and after hearing her tell her co-worker that she doesn’t date people she works with – he just tears himself up secretly watch her at Black Light. That is until the night of Valentine Roulette. Because on this night Master Ben and Lady E (Eliana) are paired together. But after their three hours are up, Eliana overhears that Ben has been watching for a long time. She calls “Red” and will not hear him out. Between her friend and her Dom, they calm her down and get her to hear him out. The problem is, Ben is gone. If she can find him, maybe they can clear the air and discover the love that they both have been hiding from one another all this time.

Roommates – Golden Angel
If you like star crossed roommate’s, you are going to love this. Imagine one is gay and the other is Bi except his roommate thinks he’s “straight”– and they both are in love with each other. Then bring on some well-meaning friends and the Black Light Valentine’s Roulette – you either have a recipe for disaster or the realization that dreams do come true. Meet Master Damian and Grant roommates who are in for the night of their lives, one way or another.

Faith – Kay Elle Parker
Calypso (or rather Callie) so called former Dom really did a job on her. Because of it, she has trust issues, deals with self-doubt then she sees Evander Ledston aka Master No., and he unintentionally hurts her. So, when she is paired with him, they have a few issues to work out first. Once they do, she gives him a new nickname, “Master Invader” and he wonders how anyone would let her go and he is considering kidnapping to keeping her - odd quirks, and all. And if she can let go and trust him, she may have found the perfect Dom for her. (No cliffhanger but their full story will be in Leap of Faith)

Extreme – Eden Bradley
Ishtar, being a highly trained slave for years, and with her strict environment, it is a culture shock being in the real world again. Coming to this year’s Valentine’s Roulette, she knows she has some hard choices to make on the future direction of her life. She is paired with Master Kaeden. He recognizes her and is determined to get through that wall she has built up and find the prize he knows that is waiting underneath. However, during their scene Ishtar, feels her world is collapsing ends the scene calling the one word that ends it all - leaving Master Kaden confused. Trying to understand when she can’t explain it herself. (It feels like a cliffhanger, and luckily Eden will be giving them their own book in 2023)

Challenge – Claire Thompson
Looking to make it through the three hours of the Valentine’s Roulette to win a free month’s membership, Grace is happy she gets to participate, until she finds out the Dom she has been ogling is none other than her former co-worker Dylan Moore or as she calls him Dylan “F-ing” More. To make matters worse – Dark Master aka Dylan ends up spinning and landing on Ms. G., aka Grace. His former ball-busting co-worker a sub? Although to hear her tell it, she is not a sub. But the sexual tension between these two can be cut with a knife. By the end of the night their preconceived notions about one another changes just like their view of each other and it just might be the right combination for the making of the perfect Dom/Sub relationship.

Black Light West -

Limitless – Jennifer Bene
This is a short that had me laughing and so glad I was home alone. Javier doesn’t want to be at this years Valentine Roulette because of his boss. Basically, he is “Pi&%ed.” Then he gets paired with red-headed Vixen aka Sasha. When Javier finds out she has no limits – his anger ratches up tenfold. “No limits?” What he didn’t count on is this creative sub who literally is going to not only give him a run for his money, and add a some water – Javier is in for a long night! (Side-not – I Loved this, so unexpected – never saw this one coming!)

Ruined – Becca Jameson
Macy is back in town and cannot wait unfortunately when she sees Boyd and finds out he is participating her night just went from bad to worse. They have a history that she doesn’t want to repeat. Especially after he ghosted her last year. But there is more to the story than she knows. And after they are paired together, she’s hoping she can get through this without any further hurt. Boyd knows he messed up and getting Macy to listen to him is not going to be easy – but anything worth having is worth fighting for and Boyd has every intention of winning - Macy that is….

Alphabet – Lila DuBois
Master Dodge (Jalen) and Ms. Lexus (Mercedes) are paired up next and neither one can believe the luck they have after all three rolls. The first one? Okay, we can work with that, that is after they clear up the erroneous assumptions and they deal with that. Then the second and third one? Well on # 2 Mercedes has to pull Master Dark off the stage after he lets loose “You have got to be f-ing kid-.” But Master Dodge is if nothing else “Creative.” But when Master Jalen and Mercedes get to roll # 3 she couldn’t help the laughter he blinked at what the ball landed on. By the time they got off stage he lamented he was never going to Vegas after their rolls ended up with – what are the odds they would start with “A, B & C.” (Creative and I thoroughly enjoyed it!)

Jammed – Stella Moore
Amanda aka Silver is bandmates with Ice and Ice? He is her friend and bandmate, but he is also best friends with her ex and other bandmate. And both are signed up for Black Light’s Valentine’s Roulette game. When they are paired together they have two choice – to either safe word out, or play the game. This is going to be an interesting night especially since one of them has a secret a secret that they can no longer hide. Yeah! This is going to be an interesting night…

Precious – Pepper North
Beauden Blake (Sir) is paired with Ilona Vale – Sir has his work cut out for him showing her the beauty he sees when she doesn’t seem to see it in herself. He considers her a prize and she a booby-prize. But after discovering something about her that he didn’t expect, he has finally found what he has been looking for and knows that she is perfect for him and he’s perfect for her.

As for the winner of the “Bet” between Spencer and Elijah – the bet that Jaxon banned? Well let’s just say that I don’t think that those two will every defy Jaxson ever again. As for the winner? You’ll be surprised when the answer is revealed.

In this final Valentine Roulette anthology, the reader finds that the dungeon masters of the East Black Light BDSM club, Spencer and the West Black Light Club Elijah are once again pitting their clubs against each other, despite the owner's saying no to any competition...so they each have to pay for their indiscretions...with the Advanced Reader Copy not giving the final tally of which club won and two of the couples were not in this preliminary version...but an exciting and excellent glimpse into the characters mindset...Story one is Jailbait by Livia Grant where Kelsey, the nanny for Jaxson, Chase and Emma's twins wanted to try the BDSM lifestyle without the DM's, monitors and her bosses watching...so she flew to DC to take part in the East festivities...paired with an older Dom, Ian who owns a lifestyle hotel and condos where people could live on property if over 21 and wanted to play all the time...Ian thought Kelsey was too young for his brand of dominance although she surprised him, but looks to be the start of another series based on his Dominion Ridge development...leading to the second couple chosen by the wheel in Delayed by Measha Stone where Ben and Eilana work at same place, often together, but because he overheard her saying she doesn't date men she works with, Ben never made a play for her...now since wheel paired them, neither decided to quit...finding they meshed perfectly at the club, but would their work relationship be affected??? The next story is Roommate by Golden Angel where Grant who has been rooming with Damien for two years and secretly lusting after him. Damien didn't realize Grant was bisexual as he had girlfriend when he moved in and the subject never came up...but when fate and a little help from Grant's friends pair the only male-male match at Roulette, will Damien get over being angry enough to see their possibilities??? Next is Alphabet by Lila DuBois where Mercedes is a stunt woman paired with a man who she decided didn't know what he was doing as a Dom...Jalen...but they drew Anal, not sex, not toys, or dilation...so he had to decide and think of time and what he would need for an hour...but first he had to punish her for being so uncommunicative...but could the A,B,C's of their draws lead to more dirty games or explorations??? Leading the reader to Jammed by Stella Moore where band members Silver and Ice are paired...neither figured the other would be there, but they have been skating around an attraction forever, but Silver was involved with another band member Ace...were they playing with fire or breaking up the band in playing Roulette??? As last story in the ARC version, Precious by Pepper North paired Ilona with Beauden as the first couple selected...she doesn't believe she is "enough" for anyone to want as permanent partner even though she is the accountant for major film company and holds purse strings tightly in her hands...while Beauden is art collector/dealer...who secretly wants a Little Girl of his own...and Ilona has a lot of Little in her...but would they last beyond the Roulette??? I’m a huge lover of anything Black Light and have read all the Roulette Anthologies. Never thinking one could top the other. But this Anthology? Holy smokes is it incredible! Plus I’ve discovered some new authors!

Jailbait by Livia Grant. How can you not love a story where the trio are a part of it! But this time, it’s about Kelsey, their nanny. She is bound & determined to be a part of Roulette even if she is a newbie. When it’s decided she can join in, she is elated! Until she meets the Dom who picks her, Ian. Their first meeting wasn’t so great, but could these two actually be destined for each other? Ian has specific tastes and isn’t so sure Kelsey can meet his needs. Time will only tell. I can’t wait to read more about these two!

Delayed by Measha Stone. I’m a lover of friends to lovers and this one certainly hit the mark. Ben and Eliana work together and thru a misunderstanding neither attempted to try to date the other. Guess it just wasn’t in their cards? Until they both end up at Roulette, and just figure what happens? I loved their interactions and they both are wonderful, kinky characters. I really enjoyed this story!

Roommates by Golden Angel. Being I love MM, this story was certainly up my alley. Grant & Damian are roommates and seem to both be attracted to each other. But being Damian is gay and Grant isn’t, how does that work? Unless Grant isn’t really saying what he really is? So when they are paired up, Damian is thrown for a loop! Wait until you read how these two express how they really feel. I would love to read more about them!!

Faith by Kay Elle Parker. This story hit me with all the feels. I instantly fell in love with Callie! She’s so sweet and endearing after everything she’s been thru. When she is paired with Evander, I just knew they would be a perfect fit. He may have some darker kinks, but he just knew she would be able to handle anything he threw at her. His fierce protectiveness over her made me swoon. I’m also excited to find out that they will have a full length story because I definitely need more of them!

Extreme by Eden Bradley. Wow! This story sure does pack a punch! I’m feeling a bit emotional and really didn’t want this story to end. Ishtar is a slave who is out in the world for the first time in a long time. I could feel the depths of emotions she was feeling in my heart. As for Kaeden, there is so much more to his character that I couldn’t help fall in love with. These two have a unique experience together and I need more of them! A brilliant story!

Limitless by Jennifer Bene. Holy smokes! What a story! Sasha and Javier burned the pages! When they are paired up and he finds she has no limits, the hotness begins! I actually chuckled at times because Sasha was so endearing, yet fierce. She certainly met her match with Javier! I need more of them!

Challenge by Claire Thompson. This story was intense to me and I loved it. Grace and Dylan know each other thru work and have always been competitive. Neither knowing they were each into BDSM until they meet at Roulette. Can two people who have already mistrusted each other, now have to give the ultimate trust? After reading this, I need to find more stories by this author.

Ruined by Becca Jameson. My heart is so full! There is just so much to love about Boyd and Macy! He’s so delicious and she’s so perfect. While they had a past, it’s their future I want to know more about. He perfectly molded her all night and even though she was upset with him, you could feel her emotions coming off the pages. Their storyline was hot and I need more of these two!

Alphabet by Lila DuBois. Two strangers who meet at Roulette both thinking the other isn’t who they want to scene with until the ball drops. Both misguided in their thoughts until they start. I loved the anticipation between Jalen & Mercedes. Both surprising the other. I couldn’t wait to read what happened next with each drop of the ball. I found this story very entertaining!

Jammed by Stella Moore. My heart is pounding! I am so in love with Ice and Silver! The constant back and forth, the feelings that they have for each other that they shouldn’t act on! I seriously didn’t want their story to end! This author needs to make it a full length or even a series. The depths of emotions I felt while reading it are unreal. And their chemistry? Absolutely sizzling! Just brilliant!

Precious by Pepper North. What a sweet and endearing story of discovery. Ilona has lived her life thinking she was less than beautiful until she meets Beauden. He just knows she’s the special person he has been searching for. As they spin the wheel each task shows both of them how much they need each other. In true fashion with this author, she always delivers a heartwarming story!

What a perfect ending to a perfect Anthology. I’m sorry to see this is the last Roulette as I’ve enjoyed each and every one of them. But now looking forward to more stories in the BL world! Bravo to all the authors! You rock!

Jennifer Bene & Livia Grant have given us many Roulette stories over the years, but I think this compilation is one of the best, very fitting as this is the finale. The authors participating in this book are ones I recognize and love, so that made reading all the sweeter.

For the last four years Kelsey has been the nanny for the twins of the Cartwright-Davidson. Learning about BDSM, she is eager to participate in Roulette and get some real experience, much to the chagrin of Jaxson and Chase. Thankfully, Emma suggests Kelsey go to the East coast Black Light where she is matched with Ian, a Dom and owner at Dominion Ridge, a lifestyle community. I love that these two complete opposites were paired together, the innocent and the jaded. Unfortunately their individual situations leave both of them alone at the end of the night. Luckily their story will continue in Cruel Choices, book one in the new Dominion Ridge series. Yay!

Their scenes were amazing, but the night ends with "Red". Can these two somehow reconcile?

Grant has a crush on his roommate Damian, but has failed to tell him he's bisexual and kinky. Thanks to some friends who have connections at Black Light, he arranges for them to be matched at Roulette. Damian is not thrilled that he's been lied to and decides Grant is going to be taught a lesson. I loved that we got a M/M story and these scenes were amazing. Great HEA as well.

Evander was a man who was particularly selective and he didn't want some innocent. Callie shot all his theories to heck though. A little who tried to hide that side of herself was just adorable in his eyes. And even his dark side appealed to both big and little Callie. So excited to learn they'll be getting a full length story later this year.

Extreme by Eden Bradley
Ishtar is at Black Light after leaving her slave contract, hoping to see where she may fit in the "real" world. Kaeden is someone who had seen her at the Primal Play Ranch where she lived and knows he's getting an experienced slave. But he doesn't want the ice queen, he wants her emotions, which he gets with a vengeance. We definitely get the impression they both have more future (and history we probably should know as well) so I was glad to see Eden plans to give them their own book in 2023. Thank goodness!

Challenge by Claire Thompson
Grace considers herself a sexual masochist but not a submissive. She is chagrined to be matched with her former work nemesis Dylan. Their scenes prove they are more than compatible and realize as they are no longer working together they can actually have a civil conversation.

Ruined by Becca Jameson
Macy is in LA for work and somehow matches with Boyd, a man she's more than intimately familiar with from Roses and Thorns, a club in Denver. Boyd makes a deal with Macy that at 11 pm they talk about why things didn't work out with them last year. Macy agrees, but doesn't plan to comply (thinking to foist him off with a lie). After their intense evening, will Boyd be able to get her to talk?

This story started off weird and I wasn't sure if I missed some pages, but give it a chance, everything is explained. I loved that these two both used car names as their pseudonyms. It became a bit of a joke that the rolls they had were all general and Jalen had to use his considerable imagination to devise some great scenes. Initially worried about a blah night, Mercedes is soon shown the error of her ways. The A, B, Cs lead to much, more nights ahead.

Elias and Mandy are in a band together, but Mandy is the on again/off again girlfriend of Elias' best friend and bandmate, Ace. Elias is looking for a real relationship and in love with Mandy, but he knows she always goes back to Ace, so this is their one night together. The scenes were hot and I loved how Elias makes Mandy to say good things about herself. The lingering question is will this couple have a HEA, or not.

Precious by Pepper North
Ilona doesn't consider herself much of a beauty and when she's matched with Beauden, an art collector she worries she's not enough for him. He has an inkling she might be a Little and introduces her to a whole new world.

1. Beginning by Livia Grant & Jennifer Bene: Spencer is back to goading Elijah into a bet regarding who's club is better (East vs West) and, again, Jaxson is furious and enacts a plan to teach them a lesson. Starts on the East Coast.

2. Jailbait by Livia Grant: features Kelsey (the Trio's Nanny) who is paired with Ian whom she, literally, bumped into at the airport. This is a fun read with Kelsey being introduced to new kinks & finding her footing in the BDSM world after living with the Trio for many years and "hearing" their antics through the walls. Shibari and Caning are featured.

3. Delayed by Measha Stone: Ben & Eliana are co-workers and, due to a misunderstanding of Eliana's thoughts about work relationships, begin to look at each other differently due to the pairing. Edging and Pain Play are featured.

4. Roommates by Golden Angel: Grant and Damian have been roommates and friends for many years. Grant never told Damian that he is bi and is afraid he won't be believed if he does. So, he has his friends trick Damian into signing up for Roulette and setting him up as the only option to play with. Such a sweet friends to lovers story. Wax and booty play are featured.

5. Faith by Kay Elle Parker: Evander & Calypso (Callie), this one was too hot to handle and one of my favorites. They were paired by the wheel and Callie's snarkyness with Evander is so much fun. Features booty play and my personal favorite medical play.

6. Extreme by Eden Bradley: Ishtar & Master Kaeden, another pair who was unknown to each other until the wheel paired them. This one could be intense for some with the knives (though the balloons were an interesting and unique touch). Primal play is fun and sexy and they rolled one other that may be too sensitive to have in my review. :)

7. Challenge by Claire Thompson: Grace & Dylan worked for the same Investment Capitol firm, though Dylan was leaving the firm. Pitted against each other constantly made for hard feelings between the two. Will the wheel's pairing them and their associated play rolls bring them closer? Again, what they rolled maybe sensitive to some readers.

While on the West Coast:

8. Ruined by Becca Jameson: Macy & Boyd - they are awarded the symbian and medical play both were very interesting and hot to read about.

9. Alphabet by Lila DuBois: as a fan of her work, already, I loved that she tied this story in with her Alphabet series of books. Mercedes & Jalen: paired by the wheel, Jalen is slightly annoyed that the wheel keeps spinning generic play without giving a more descriptive/guiding title of what they are to play at. Jalen is very creative and I was appreciative of his "glass" collection. LOL Booty play, bondage & chains are featured.

10. Jammed by Stella Moore: Elias (Ice) & Amanda (Silver) are bandmates and have never played together due to her being the singer's girlfriend (now Ex). I'm looking forward to seeing if they get their own separate story. I want to know how this ends. They roll Impact, Sensory Deprivation & Role Play - Dominant's Choice, which ends up as an Interrogation.

11. Precious by Pepper North: Ilona & Beauden (love the names): another pairing made only by the wheel. Ilona is not enthused by the wheel's picks for them, though Beauden shows her how untrue that is and helps her to see herself in a more positive light. spanking, praise (more than you think) and age play are featured

I'm so, so sad this is the last Valentine's Roulette book. Black Light is one of my all time favorite series and the Roulette books always added an amazing ensemble of talented authors, telling great stories to the Black Light universe.

After playing with Callie for the night, he knows he found a rare jem, and he won't give up on her so easily. I am so happy this story is the beginning of a new series and I can't wait to read more about them in the 1st book.

Silver and Ice are both members of the same band, she's the drummer, he's a guitar player. After another breakup from Ace, her on again / off again boyfriend, who is also part of the band, Silver is determined to participate in Roulette night and lose herself in a scene. But being paired up with Ice was a lot more than she bargained for. Ice has been in love with Silver since what feels like forever. He decides to use Roulette night to figure out if he and Silver have a future together. But the two of them being together may break up the band, and this is a chance they can't take. Sadly, Roulette night is all they can have, or is it? Stella Moore portrayed a compelling couple in this story that we will meet again in one of her future books.

Edgy, amazing, wonderful stories from the best in the biz

I hate to say it but this book is healthier and more delicious than a box of fine chocolates. Indulge this holiday with 12 kinky romance stories written by some of the best authors in the biz. Edgy, kinky, full of personality. Characters and scenes that will take a long time to forget, but you will not want to. The best part is that each story features different kinks, personalities and is clearly represents the style of each writer. Even if characters roll similar kinks, the way the writers work with the kinks make them unique and memorable.

Stories include a variety of kinks from spanking to edging, blood play, breath control to shibari, medical, DD/lg, and male with male. You might even learn more about a kink you have not explored.
Have a fan and a cold glass of water or something stronger nearby.

DELAYED by Measha Stone explores edging, breath play and knives. Eliana has only played with Doms she can control. Ben is not the type that will let that happen. The wheel makes it clear that only by submitting completely can any of these challenges be done safely and in a way that provides total enjoyment by both. The question is can Eliana let go of her controlled office demeanor and let Ben who was a business rival take over?

ROOMMATES by Golden Angel has the wheel laughing at two bi-sexual roommates, Grant and Damien, who secretly desired each other but were unwilling to open the door. I laughed throughout this story as we watched them in that eternal dance of two uncertain people afraid to take a risk but more afraid not to.

FAITH by the mistress of dark writing, Kay Elle Parker, does not disappoint. Master No is paired with little newbie Callie. Her only experience was with an abusive man who left numerous physical and emotional scars. The story is hysterical as Callie bounces between her little and adult. The dialogue is genius. Their spins are anal (she is anal virgin) and medical play. I was exhausted by the time their evening was over.

ALPHABET by Lila Dubois follows her famous alphabet story series of kinks. Written almost tongue-in-cheek as an exasperated Dom faces kinks marked simply as anal or bondage. His sub is a brat who makes a quick assumption that puts her foot directly in her mouth. This West Coast roulette spin is a refreshing break from some of the heavier stories.

Extreme is right! Ishtar lives the 24/7 slave life.  On a break and checks out Black Light.  amazingly, meets Master Kaeden who has been to the Ranch. Kaeden is looking to break Ishtar's indifference/disconnectedness.  But does he actually break both of them?

Challenge, Claire Thompson
Yes, coworkers surprised to see each other in the club...to say the least. Can they let the outside world go long enough to scene?  Real intense read.

Wow! This was a roller coaster of emotions! Callie is a submissive with a Little side just itching to come out. Evander didn't think his forever would show up at Roulette, but he thinks it did. The two had amazing scenes and there will be a book soon. I've already pre-ordered it.

Extreme Eden Bradley 4*
Not my favorite of the stories, but I find myself curious about the rest of their story. It should be available sometime this year and I'll read it. Maybe I can reconcile my feelings for this story.

Grace and Dylan worked at the same company and were pitted against one another by upper management. As they go through the different challenges together, they find their kinks match and that they like one another.

Limitless Jennifer Bene 5*
Again, what a great story. And she left me wanting more; more of Sasha and Javier story. I hope we get more in the future.

Boyd and Macy had a relationship and then Boyd ghosted her. They meet again and are partnered at Roulette. Will they find their way to each other?

Alphabet Lila Dubois 5*
Jalen and Mercedes are partnered by the Roulette wheel. Jalen is a little outraged that they keep rolling general terms. But he gets inventive and Mercedes enjoys it all.

Faith - Age gap and size gap may appear to define this sweet sometimes wince filled tale. I love how they delve into their non-kinky sides too, and Evander 42 and Callie 28 seem to complete each other.

Challenge - For Grace and Dylan humiliation, breath, blood could be hard limits, but even though they have been rivals at work they find a mutual trust in the club setting. This Coworker enemy to lover read just goes to show even though you know somebody you never really know somebody till you kink around.

Ruined - Macy and Boyd have a real heartbreaking session in a second chance love story with unusual but hot kink.

Alphabet - Disillusioned Mercedes joins the roulette game in hopes of finding the excitement she wants from a true DOM. At first meeting being paired with Master Dodge doesn’t fill the bill, until he shows her how serious he is and how fun A(anal), B(bondage), and C(chains) can be. Maybe even the rest of the alphabet.

Jammed - Angst and complications rule this story of band mates. Even though these two know each other so well it takes BDSM scenes for them to open up. The kink is sexy hot, but is one night all they will ever have?

Precious - Ilona and Beauden appear to be an attraction at first sight story, but there is more behind this couple. Ilona’s image issues won’t keep Beauden from bringing out the real Ilona. Light on kink this one is heavy on emotion.

I will miss it

The annual Valentine's Roulette at Black Light has been something I have always looked forward to every year. For me, that is saying something. I am not a big fan of anthologies. They are mostly teases for series I may, or more likely, may not have read. But this one I knew to expect that, and I was already a fan of most of the participating authors. So it was with a sad heart that I read this, the last roulette anthology. I will miss it. However, that being said . . .

This one was heavy on hard core sadists. Some more creative than others, but wow! My backside was burning just reading some of these. I mean really? An alien dildo? Ouch! Hot stuff. The couple of softer scenes were not bad. Not my kink though. Guess I lean toward the more hard core, so all was good.

But, don't you hate the buts? What happened to the end of night wrap ups where the miscellaneous background things were explained? Who called RED at the wheel and why? Who was the drunk that got escort out? How did the girl going all fan girl even get into the club and did she get punished? We didn't get that this time. I, for one, missed it. I am not a fan of dangling story threads.

Other than that, I enjoyed this anthology. Loved how Jackson dealt with his misbehaving dungeon masters. I do look forward to the continuations mentioned. Kelsey needs her happy-ever-after.

Livia Grant and all the wonderful writers have given us another wonderful Roulette anthology. I am so sorry to have these end they have always been so special to me, I couldn't wait for the next one. I don't usually care about short stories but I love Roulette.
This Black Light had all my favorite Black Light authors. And Black Light rivalry continues between East and West. This book also has lots of new-to-me authors.
I loved Jailbait by Livia Grant, Kay Elle Parker's Faith are exciting reads from two of my favorite writers as they announce the beginning of new series.
Golden Angel's did a great job on Roommates there's so much love between them that I didn't want that story to end. One of the new-to-me authors Stella Moore, Becca Jameson and Claire Thompson. I will have to look closely into their other books. This book blew my mind and will definitely live in my heart with all the fantastic characters featured in each story.
