After a night of devastation and loss, I gained the Flame and the crown. Now, the people who murdered my family and burnt my home to the ground are after my men and me.
After we were taken to a hidden land, Faelands, we thought we were safe for the time being. But no matter how hidden the world is, someone will always squeeze through the cracks.
The Blood Clan have found us and the last time we met, I almost died.
With the splitting of my hellhounds and a power that I can’t control, I have to save the Faelands, Hell, and my men. It’s a task I never thought I would ever have to deal with, but I’m ready to step up and claim the throne.
Hell's Queen is a paranormal reverse harem novel, meaning the female main character doesn't have to choose between any of her eight men. This novel is intended for a mature audience.
My toxic trait is having to finish a series even though I know I'll be disappointed.
Our FMC should be worried and focused on the fact that someone is after her throne and trying to open the gates of hell but no. What does she focus on? Getting laid LOL..
Literally though. She finally hooks up with one of the guys towards the end and her thought process after they did it was " I finally hit it. " ??????? He accused her of using the rest of her guys for just their bodies, which she vehemently denies, but then she has this thought after she gets with him?????????????????? no.
I love a good smutty book but this was not it. It was a new spicy scene at least every other page, and most of it was rushed and all the same. The plot was scattered and inconsistent. I felt like stuff was just thrown in the book to keep it "interesting" but did the opposite. She also talks about how she was trained her whole life for the throne but I didn't see any actions backing this up. AND she knew she should be training for the battle but she decides to get laid and her thought process was "we can always train tomorrow." girl.
I did not vibe with the fmc at all. Immature af and did not have her priorities straight. Ending was super predictable but also very lacking. The battle scene was like one page. Just nothing exciting.
Having a why choose with eight guys is not it. There's very little background on each of them and I felt like the emotional connection between the fmc and her men were forced.
Originally, I was going to give this one star but my baby, Jigsaw, deserves one for himself because he had to be part of this series.
This is the last book of the hellhound series and I loved it. The spice is off the charts and leaves you wanting for nothing. Azura really steps up as queen in the book. I love the boys, the moodier the better. I really appreciate getting to ARC this book which started my love for hellhounds.
Immature FMC when she should have been bad a** and strong. Really disappointed with this series. Ending was predictable, plot was weak, characters were poorly written. I wanted to like this series, but it was a total let down.
I’m sorry but I’m ok with medium burn romance, even with deep character development. But when some of the FMC /men/reapers treat her like absolute dog sh*t for 3 out of the 4 books then suddenly wham bam thank you ma’m are all I’m soooo sorry we love you (let’s not forget they’ve been sleeping with everything in a skirt since she was gone) consider me a romantic but when the main character does something self sacrificing, she deserves the benefit of the doubt, NOT to be beaten to a pulp, degraded, yelled out, cheated on, and basically treated like trash, especially when she’s a queen. If perhaps **spoiler alert**
Kzahhon had come around slooowly (not snails pace) and not flaunted his floozy girlfriend around the girl who was supposed to be the love of his life, I may have been more forgiving of him. However he treats her horribly absolutely horribly! He did not/does not deserve her! In fact Thorne did not either.
Here’s the thing: reverse harem trope is a favorite of mine, however there HAS TO BE THE CENTRAL! The main female central character is the center of the reverse harem! AND as an author I usually and hope think the author understands that cheating is a NO! AND I have no issue with m/m, I enjoy it to a point as long as the female is the focus of attention always, that’s why it’s a reverse harem and NOT a regular HAREM!!!!!
This was not a romance series - this was porn. No real character development and a scattered storyline. Did she train for this her whole life or not? She didn’t seem to be prepared for anything. The hellhounds should have been much more capable and helpful. There was no need for 8 different guys if the author wasn’t going to take the time to flesh out their bonds and impact on the heroine’s journey. And if you didn’t want her portrayed as a “slut” then maybe she should have cared about at least one thing more than she did getting laid. I’m VERY disappointed.
Jeez I never in my life would have thought I'd want to skip over smut scenes. Every other page is the same boring sex scene and when it's not she's THINKING about having sex. Just ridiculous. I was so excited to start this series the plot sounds SO GOOD and wow what a disappointment. It was TOUGH to get through the last book especially. Also the FMC had ZERO character development. Her personality is basically just being horny and weak. She can't get her mind off of sex for 5 minutes to try and be a better Soul Reaper OR Queen.
So this story has potential. This series has potential. However there are many major flaws with it that really ruin it for me. I give it one star simply because I finished it, but I’m stubborn and hate not finishing a series. **SPOILERS** The fmc is incredibly immature, incredibly horny and incredibly weak. She would be nothing without her powers and all she focused on is the number of guys she could get and what she could get away with. She’s written very shallow and never seems to grow up, constantly picking fights with people she claims to love however you never actually see her treat them better or fall for them. It’s like she meets them and seduces them and then becomes codependent. For most of the men anyway, some get straight up forgotten for most of the book and some we don’t meet until this book and then it seems they’re only there for the fmc to f*ck. She never seems to have heartfelt conversations with any of them or anything romantic between them. Also the descriptions of her men changed, their personalities all merged into one by the end, they all have similar characteristics like the author couldn’t come up with anything new, and none of them actually seem to find happiness in the end other than finally being okay with sharing the fmc, albeit begrudgingly.
The fmc never has any consequences, she never talks about birth control but never gets pregnant, she gets hugs for purposefully running from her family for two years, she gets people killed and has no mourning, she becomes queen of hell despite having no natural powers and be a human not a demon, and she never has to do anything for forgiveness from her men even if they do for something justified. She’s a spoilt bratty princess who sees nothing wrong with that and gets everything she wants while others lose out.
I’m all for morally grey characters, reverse harem, lots of sex, and everything else included in this book, it just is incredibly overwhelmingly SEX. There were many scenes I had to skip because I literally JUST finished a sex scene and then there’s another. It’s every couple pages and they aren’t special, it’s pretty much copy paste but with different names. The hierarchy in hell doesn’t make sense, there’s no world building on actually managing hell, why the souls are there and can’t escape, what they would do once they did, or if they’re human souls or demon. Having a devil, a hades, a grim reaper, a Lucifer, AND a satan when they’re all basically the same person doesn’t make sense, nor does having the devil be the strongest make sense. Since I’m mentioning plot holes, let’s bring up that we never go looking for Circe, we never get closure with her sister and I guess just lock her up forever and ever, even though her dad lost his father and got the flame from him when he died, she still has her dad when he dies because apparently the flame has the last persons soul with it? She never learns to control it and I’m not sure if Agnes is just giving her meds the whole time, speaking of meds what were in her meds before, if acid rain is so common why is no one ever prepared, how do the major cracks it causes fixed so fast, where does the hatred certain people have towards her go, how is her body rejecting the flame but then completely fine, how did she win a battle with absolutely no training, how does the flame not burn her since she’s human and it burns hellhounds, why don’t the guys shift into hounds more than a handful of times, what happened to the vision she kept seeing of hell falling apart but we never actually see that exact scenario happen, etc etc etc. The plot would actually be a good one if there was more to it and less porn. I have so many questions and even though this might not really be the end of the series, I’m done. This story belongs on Wattpad, not kindle.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!! I sooo much wanted to love this series and I did love the potential. The characters are amazing as well as the underline storyline. All the MMCs distinct personalities were so great. The banter was super funny though a bit bratty instead of the desired sarcasm at times. Visually engaging. You could imagine everyone. Could have used more descriptions to the settings though.
Really hope future books have better proofing for the writing which usually doesn’t bother me that much but this was a lot. And held back a bit of the momentum.
My cons. And why only 3 stars The ending felt so rushed and throughout this whole series I felt that way hoping it would continue to unfold as the books went on but there was so much gloss over to important situations that would have made it so much more satisfying both spice and especially plot. Holding on to that hope for delving feeling into situations unfolding got me through the series to then be BAM we got the bad guys? It just felt like none of the moments had breathing room to truly unfold. And the repetitive details were killing me through the series especially hearing about the piercings and stretched ears so many times when those words could have been used to give more evolution to situations if the goal was to keep the storyline shorter. It’s a worth reading series but just had so much potential to be insanely good.
Okay so i read the series all squished in together so heres my review for all four books as a whole.
Okay so our heroine is Asura. At first she's likeable and a bit bad but eventually i got tired of her always messing things up and running around like a chicken with no head. She doesn't try hard to better herself with only minimal training done that only slightly improves her fighting skills. She spends alot of time having se× with her boyfriends or mending relationships or fixing drama from having so many men on the go. I even got tired of her adding men and i love RH.
The plot is that Asura will be become queen of hell but ran away after seeing a vision of the future. She gets by by stripping. Then her old bff come to collect her and bring her home to her father where we is promptly sent to school. She collects 2 boyfriends in a matter of days and has her eye of 3 more include her old bff.
I DNF at 80%. I'm just tried of reading se× scenes and Asura not winning any fights worth fighting. She's a lost cause to me. She doesn't really deserve to be queen and should pass the Flame on to a hell hound in my opinion.
When I first started this series, I wasn't sure I would like it. However, the plot was interesting and moved along pretty quickly. I would have given the series 5 stars if the MC was a little stronger in power. She was tough, but the author weakened her by claiming she was half human and focusing on that versus the fact that she was half devil too.
One thing I didn't get was why anyone would want to open the gates and let the souls out. What would they get out of it to make it worth the effort? Just chaos? I was a bit confused by that.
While I loves all the harem guys, yes, even Inarian, I feel like there were just too many men in the harem. For awhile, while Asura was collecting them, it seemed like it was all about lust. There wasn't really a good reason for collecting some of them other than that. I enjoy it more when there's more behind the relationship than lust.
The whole Fenric thing almost killed me, but I was glad that Derrick shaped up.
Overall the story is good bordering on excellent. Do not read this if you don't enjoy a lot of coupling. There's a lot of it.
Omg ...I just couldn't deal with this. My main issue beyond the consistent coupling so much there was no conversation the majority of the book was the FMC indecisive, weak, horny self. One minute she's like I've trained all my life for this position the 2 pages more ... I'm not ready, I was never taught how to be a Queen🙄 which is it!! Even the Hellhounds are weak. None of them could beat anyone but Asurua. They didn't really explain about her demon in my opinion. Nobody even looking for her. There's no heartfelt talk to her sister. Her brothers just easily stop being out with her. The whole book is disjointed and made me upset. I just think the author prolonged this book so long she ran out of ideas and ambition to see it thru successfully. This is what I hate about series... They want they money without giving quality. By the second book the series is trash. I need a book to rinse this disappointment out of my head. You will skim a lot of this book because it's not worth reading. I can't say why or my review won't post.
With every book my rating has dropped. After 4 books I thought this one would round it up with an actual script. For at least a chapter, before she got naked. End product of the "plot" and all....
I honestly don't have anything against girls having sex left right and centre... if that's what you are looking for. Maybe I didn't try hard enough to look out for the sign that said erotica. I skimmed and skipped a hell of a lot of pages. The smut is on overload and a rinse and repeat. So why put us all through that?
There were moments there where we got an actual plot that could have been amazing. Then next thing you want to yell is "put your clothes back on!! Then oh great, here we go again"
The good thing about this read is it didn't take too much of my time, skipping helped. The heroine does not grow as a character if anything she gets weaker. Hell's Queen?? Questionable... Very anticlimactic.
Damn. That was an absolute fantastic series. The actual plot was a little lackluster and slow moving. The characters and the smut truly were what made this series worth the read especially with the “just enough” plot to keep it interesting. I really did enjoy the magic, politics, and drama that was sprinkled throughout this series. Each book had the plot on the back burner, but truly the characters made up for it. I have never read a book so smutty that also made me laugh or cry so hard. I feel confident that these could have easily been one big or two acceptable sized books rather than 4 although I am happy to be able to get further in my reading goal challenge with the end of the year mark coming up quickly. I will definitely be reading from this author again if these books were anything to show for their writing approaches.
So, I'm glad I finally got to read the conclusion to this series! It took a little bit to remember what happened in the previous one since I had to wait for this one to be released, but it didn't take too long...
One thing I was MAJORLY disappointed in was the "point of views" from the characters. I usually stick with books that have different POVs, but in this entire book, there's only 0.5 of a chapter that has someone else's view, and that's Ryker, 42% in. It wasn't even a complete chapter - Asura's POV finished it off. I would have liked to at least have seen her icy hellhound have one before things changed between them (won't give spoilers).
I like the series overall, I like the ending, but was just a *little* disappointed with a few things like mentioned above.
What a great ending! While I am still sad about certain characters no longer here, I am glad for the happy ending.
This last book of the series started off with Asura still dealing and sad about a loss she suffered. While she knew she needed to pick up her big girl panties and find her strength, she also began to realize that maybe she wasn’t as badass as she hood and she needed all these men around her to help her be strong and succeed in their mission.
In this last book, all of the players finally come into play and we find out who all 8 of her men are and there is plenty of sexy play time. And when I say plenty…I mean, pleennntttyyy! At times it felt like every other conversation resulted in Asura spending “quality time” with one or two of her men. Again…I’m not overly complaining because it was hot to read and I really enjoyed some of the ways she and her men came together, but at the same time, I really wanted more story too. So, while I loved this series and enjoyed the personalities of everyone and the story, the balance was just a up tad off.
In the end though, Asura did finally kick some butt and saved the day with the help of her men. She has all of them in love with her and she feels the same for them. The ending left me with a smile on my face and happy tears and I definitely recommend. Especially if you want a pretty kickass imaginary world with a super sassy female who captures 8 strong and sexy men.
But only because this series came to an end!!! Omg I’m so freaking obsessed! I don’t think I have read a series as quickly and thoroughly as this in quite a while! I loved the plot twists at every other angle, the growth of each character was just *chefs kiss*. I can’t wait to read more lovely adventures created by this author and I would 100/10 recommend this book series. It takes you through the life of an amazing FMC and her just as amazing MMC’s, while being able to watch them grow through issues many people could honestly relate to on a different level. Thank you Rune Hunt for letting us have a peek into this beautiful world you have created❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hells Queen kicks off immediately where it left off after book three and immediately see Asura and her men facing some pretty big mile stones and having to actually learn to work together as a team.
Rune writing style always grips me from start to finish and this book was no exception. I'm definitely sad to see the end of this series but can't wait to see Asura and her men in the future.
I loved watching as Rune really rounded out the emotional and physical growth all the characters start in book one. Especially as Asura starts learning how to vulnerable while still remaining strong.
The spicy scene were absolutely incredible and it was so much fun getting to see all the different sexual dynamics between her and her men. I definitely wouldn't be mad at larger group scenes in the future though 😉
But overall this was a fantastic fast paced story line that wrapped up The soul reaper Academy series beautifully and is definitely one of my favourite reads this year!
Been so impatient to get my hands on this book and it did not disappoint! Picks up where book 3 ended. Asura and her men are under attack. Dealing with betrayal in expected and unexpected places.
Asura has to prove to everyone and herself that she is capable of being the Queen of Hell.
And FINALLY Khazon and Inarian see the Asura light 😅
Loved the banter between Asura and the guys so much.
The spice in this one 🥵🥵🥵🔥🤌
Not ready for this to be the end but can’t wait to see what Rune has in store for us next!
Ozias, Hazen, ledger and Inari were just the cutest out of the 8 guys. Normally that many just confuses me and is just so much but we learned so much about each person. I think they all had their own story with her instead of they typical I see you and now you’re mine kind of intensity. I do wish that her and her he’ll hounds completed the bond. Just because she is changing the requirement doesnt mean it can’t still be their choice. Now the only one she is truly bonded to is Thorne with their shadow blood bond. But I guess even with the deaths of some characters it is still a hea
I loved this series some of the guys annoyed in places.
I’m still a little confused how she handles the flames if I’m honest. Since she’s “human” and doesn’t have a demon forum that we know of.
Some of the scenes got me teary eyed especially near the end.
My favourite out of all the guys has got to be Jigsaw though!! Hes such a sweetie and I love the alternative style. Plus he’s never been able to touch anyone and when he’s finally able to you see a softer caring side just not in the bedroom 😈
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Ok, I loved this series. The only annoying thing for me was that there were too many men. I felt like some of the men just got pushed to the side and forgotten. I think take away maybe three and just have them as friends would have been better. That being said their definitely wasn't enough Hazen for me in this book. I hated Khazen and wished she didn't get with him. I don't know why I didn't like him. I couldn't put this book down and flew through the series, and I can't wait to read more by Rune.
I liked Asura. She was a great fmc however she was too sex drunk. That is really all she cared about.
I really enjoyed the plot and the guys however I think there were too many in the harem to get a really great story. I am not opposed to a big Harem but it needs to be done properly and this wasn't. It just seemed like she had sex with whoever she wanted without talking to her guys.
There was also too much sex. It got so boring I skipped most of the scenes in the last book.
This book picks up where book 3 left off. Ascura and some of her men were taken by Draco. He wants her to give up the sword of Erisdis so that he can open the gates of hell and release souls. This book was an epic adventure and the spice in it was awesome. There was definitely a lot of it and I appreciated that. I definitely enjoyed the ending of this series and loved to see the character development in Ascura and her men.
This one wasn't my favourite. I feel like the ending was rushed a bit.
Book 2 and 3 should have been combined. But really it could have been a decent duet.
I wish we got more details with her men, other than copious amounts of sex. I definitely wanted more than that.
I'm glad she finally fucked Inarian. But I still wanted a deeper connection with all of them. Especially having 8 mates and such a short series. It's not enough time to explore them all.
So I really love reading these stories. Lots and lots of ex.but a very good read. I cried when dad and Fen were killed, but I loved that she sill got to see and hear from them both. I also loved that all the men didn’t give in right away even though they all wanted and loved her. I really enjoyed all the alpha males and the fact that they all were willing to be submissive on occasion.
Glad I stayed for the ending. While there are still a few minor questions most things were wrapped up nicely. Though some of the spicy scenes felt a little forced or done to fill pages. In regards to my constant comments about errors, bad punctuation, incorrect names, jumping scenes, and so on this is the most error free book of the series. I just hope the author goes back and fixes the others.
