My unruly kingdom will bow to me as queen… or we will all perish.
My men and I are under attack from all sides. My evil uncle invades the isle. The chaos god stalks Caldren. The uncontrolled Scourge sweep across the kingdom.
I’m fighting for the future of the isle. But I’m also fighting for a happy ending—for Talisyn’s eyes to light up with memories and for Zehr to finally take his place at my side. For Jaik and Caldren, even after having gripped the crown, to take their places at my side… together. For Damyn to surrender to the desire between us.
Chaos will try to tear us apart.
But I’ll bring us all together… or die trying.
Don't miss the exciting conclusion to Honor's story!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Spice: 🌶️, veryyy quick moments throughout the series. MFC: Loved her in the first twoish books, couldn’t stand her for the rest. MMC(s): Liked them most of the time, but really liked them towards the end. Plot: 2.5/5 Book cover: 5/5 for all covers. Would I buy a physical copy?: No. not because the writing or story was awful, but Honor just irritated me too much. 😬
Alright, I started out LOVING this series and loving Honor. She was funny and strong. That changed towards the end of book two and she got worse throughout the rest of them. There’s being strong and just being stupid, which she was. I’m glad her guys also thought so too because lordybee she was irritating. She kept enemies alive, only for them to come back and make things worse!
Also, the whole Talisyn storyline of being forced to forget her? That friggin’ HURT. I was not expecting to be so cut up about it. But, it got old really quickly when she kept asking at the smallest things “did you get your memories?” and then they’d both go through the cycle of feeling guilty.
I was nottttt a fan of how separated everyone was throughout the series. Like, I get it, but when we would go almost whole books before “main” characters showed back up, it made their relationships seem… forced once they did get back together and it dragged out the story. Then the reunions were so incredibly lackluster it felt like we should’ve been hit with the “fade to black” moment. I thought Damyn was going to blow everyone out of the water, but gods no. So disappointing 😂
I still have questions too. What happened to Calla? Why couldn’t they get the piece of Ebba out of her uncle? I mean they were able to cure Arren and some of the scourge so why not try and save him? I mean she only wanted to keep every goddamn enemy she had alive anyways 🙄
Also, there was no epilogue. You can’t have five full length books, constant war, few happy moments, “kill” off a main character, throw in a pregnancy and leave us with absolutely nothing?! Well you can, and the author did just that. But dang, a glimpse into their future would’ve been nice after everything.

This is the final book of the Dragon Royals series. Not gonna lie, I’m a little disappointed in the series as a whole. The first book was so strong I gave it five stars. I was completely in love with the FMC. I loved her cheeky sense of humor, and the overarching storyline was really good too. But with each subsequent book, I found I liked our heroine a little less and less.
I think the biggest problem I had with this series is that it’s about three books too long. I think with some good editing, this series could have been reduced to two maybe three books, tops. Particularly in the final three books, I just felt like there was so much of the plot that just seemed to drag on, and it made reading seem more like a chore than a delight.
All the books lead up to a big confrontation near the end of this book. Character development is lacking a bit here. The God of Chaos, Ebba, looms ever present as the chief architect of evil. Yet we don’t know a lot about him. Sure, there’s snippets here and there, but nothing real “meaty.” One of Honor’s Uncle’s men beats and tortures one of her lovers, but to what purpose? Just for fun? This is part of what I’m talking about with regard to editing. That scene was completely unnecessary to the plot of the book as well as the overarching storyline, so why include it? There’s many scenes like that in every book.
This is one of the larger harems I’ve read with all the RH books I have gone through. But seriously, why does any woman want eight men? Why would 8 super hot, sexy men share one woman? I mean, suspension of disbelief and all, I still have a hard time buying it. But men that can shift into dragons? No problem. Haha. As per usual, with this genre, not all the men are fully fleshed out. Although I will admit that Talisyn is my favorite. And if he ever decided he was done sharing, I’d volunteer as tribute to give him a nice home and warm arms to come home to. Her relationship with Jaik is still one that I don’t fully understand. They spend so much time fighting, I simply do not understand why they’re together.
As much as I absolutely loved the first book in the series, I really don’t think I could recommend this series as a whole. At least it really didn’t do anything for me.
I had higher hopes for the last book in this series. I enjoyed the others but I found this one to have a lot of plot holes and errors. I struggled to follow some of the jumps ( could just be me, but I did not find it easy to understand at times). This reverse harem series was fun and new though I enjoyed the earlier books more. Overall, disappointed but happy to have the closure of the series
I really liked the whole series but I could do with less sex scenes. After a while they got repetitive, excessive and boring. The plot was all over and we are not sure who they are really against. The scourge? Kallus? Ebba? I don’t know if it was by design since they were fighting the Chaos God. The timeline also felt all over and there were some situations we don’t know if got a resolution. When Calla got turned by the Scourge she immediately lost reasoning whereas we don’t see this happening to others. Honor was so focused in trying to help her and when the curse was broken we don’t even know what happened to her. So much for being her best friend. We spent the past several books on how she is not ready to be queen, how the people will not accept her, how they will hate her for taking the magic away and suddenly they announce she is the queen and everyone is happy? Really? We could go on how the kingdom (queendom?) is fractured and working on fixing this and the relationship the shifters and scourge. Her relationship with the royals is borderline abusive even though they seemed to have redeemed themselves, especially Brannok. I honestly don’t care much for Jaik and he was a shadow of himself in this book. Caldren as a shifter king has zero authority. Damyn, Lynx and Tas are the ones who actually care more for her emotionally. Even Arren, in his own way. Zehr spent the last boom being an ass and suddenly is good guy. His return at the end of the book didn’t make sense. If he wasn’t there in the explodion why the heck he waited a whole week until the funeral to show up? He didn’t care about seeing mourning the loss and going through the pain of setting the pyre? I would kick him and waited a very long time to forgive him for that. And finally, my pet peeve. The author hints of an extended epilogue if you sign up for her newsletter. Said newsletter link sends you to an email subscription for a different book and never mentions the epilogue. And I have no option of unsubscribe until I receive said email since the author doesn’t seem to have her own website. I honestly hate this and makes me want to down star my ratings for that. It is dishonest to the readers. There’s no need click bait and if the author has done a decent job, the readers will want to read more, but when I get tricked on that, I don’t feel like reading another book by the same author.
Well. I did it. Somehow. The plot holes in this book/series were disappointing and frustrating. So many things were annoying in this series, but focusing on this book alone: • Ebba continuously states that he needs a brand new royal infant to take a human form. This is due to the “clean slate”/no memories. One is finally presented to him and he DECLINES?! THEN in the final battle scene, he somehow decides Zehr is as good as a newborn even though he’s over 200 years old with multiple lifetimes of memories. Ok, sure buddy. • Honor was a straight up dick to Zehr. Her MATE. It’s not until the literal end of the book that she stops being an ass and accepts him. He really is on the bottom of the totem pole as far as her mates go. Damyn even outranks him somehow. • She and Damyn don’t sleep together until 93% into the book. After all that buildup, it was incredibly underwhelming. It seemed like the author forgot she was supposed to have them solidify their bond and just threw it in there. He has the most pointless relationship of them all. I like his character but he really didn’t need to be one of her mates. • once again, her mates are continuously in danger and she barely cares. They have literal battles and she just runs away with one without checking on the others. The “fated mate” trope is my favorite trope and I’ve read MANY books with it. This is by far one of the worst ones I’ve read.
0/10 would not recommend this series to anyone.

More or less satisfying ending to the story arc. Definitely some dragons I’d leave behind, either because I thought they treated her not great (cough Jaik, cough Daymn) or were just not fleshed out enough and so were boring (cough Arren). Can’t say I completely understood the Chaos part and so was left confused how she actually was tied with him and how she was tied to the land when Lysander basically stole the crown. And how exactly he was defeated. Also the whole true queen reveal was underwhelming.

Was this only the kindle version or are there really that many errors? There are problems with the story- overly and unnecessarily complicated, scenes drag on while other huge details are just skipped over- but not only was there bad grammar throughout, there were typos and even characters being called the wrong name in the middle of a scene, how did this get published this way?
We have finally reached the series finale. It's been a wild ride for Honor and her guys. They messed up a lot, especially the guys. Did they work hard to make Honor forgive them? Yes.. Was it enough in my opinion? No. I think they should have worked even harder to ask for forgiveness (it's my mean streak talking now), but I'm happy Honor got her well-deserved HEA. Book 5 starts with an heartbreak for its readers, if you remember book 4. They are all separated and with a lot of issues they need to work through. This book is their journey to finally come together as a family and overcome whatever gets thrown at them next. Honor is one of there strongest heroine I've read about, and I'm curious who the author will introduce to us next :D
I can't believe this is the final story for Honor. You definitely will want to read this one, you will laugh, cry yell, and all the things that May throws at us are worth it. I have loved this world from the beginning and this book is amazing
Honor and her men — all of them! — manage to outsmart the remaining nobles, Kallus and the chaos god himself, but what a journey! Well worth the five book read. Highly recommend. HEA. 5 stars.
So looking for a series where danger just keeps finding the female lead and her men??? Check!!!
Looking for a unique story where Honor is the only known female dragon shifter? Check.
Poor Honor just keeps trying to do the right thing and Keep uniting the Isle. But saving someone could cost more than she can bear. But will she do it anyway??
Royal Honor is the final book in the Dragon Royals series and is a perfect ending for these characters. So if you are looking for a good series to get lost in, look no further!!
It was a good story but it didn’t have to be this long. I enjoyed it very much but I also skipped a lot, if it was a little more compact the whole Series would have been a 5 star.
-In book 5 I skipped at least 70% of the book, I only read bits and pieces off of every chapter just so I can say I finished, didn’t want to quit this far in the series.
-The story had way too many characters that even the author herself couldn’t keep up with them, many of them got forgotten throughout the series even the main characters, I felt like in some of the Books caldren an Talisyn where only mentioned a handful of times and this book was cal ,Aron and jaik’s turn to fall between the cracks.
-I feel so sorry for zehr he was so sweet, always there for honor he just needed someone to care for him and not be alone anymore .
He caught my wrist again. “Don’t, Honor.” His gaze found mine. “I’m dying. Don’t let me die alone.” “If you die alone,” I said. “It’ll be your own damn fault.”
My heart broke for him! honor’s response was so cruel !
They blamed him for something his father did when he had no say in, it's not like he chose to be the lord of the Scourge; if so, honor is also guilty just as much!. I feel like honor never really cared about zehr as much as she did about her other men, I’m pretty sure if one of them died she wouldn’t have moved on as easily as she did for zehr .
-Im pretty sure in one of the book damyn and honors age gap was 7 years but in this book she said 10!. One thing I don’t get about damyn is why does he think a twenty three years old honor still has so much growing up to do but his 10 years old self was not a kid?
-I hope in the extended epilogue we will get to see honor’s men being an overprotective but at the same time super sweet dads to their baby, I also wish for the baby to be a newborn or at least not much old than a toddler and to know what kind of powers they have and who is the bio dad, and I think if we get an insight to honor giving birth, have no doubt her and her men’s reaction would be awesome to read.
Overall after some major editing I’m pretty sure this series will be one of mine and so many other reverse harem lovers all time favourite.
How do I begin to explain…? I’m wretched, horrified with how Honor’s story ended. The book felt rushed, the last 5% of it didn't even make sense, and Zher **screams in agony**
-SPOILERS-
I am in love with the first books, five stars, all of them. The way Honor and her royals interacted and how their relationship developed, depicted such a promising ending. But… No… We didn't get to fully enjoy this thing they built with each other, nor a conclusion to Calla’s problem, nor the shifter pray/predator issue.
Back to Zher. Why add Zher to the harem? I mean, I like the character but he didn't need to be Honor’s lover to have a great impact on the plot. It felt forced. It was completely different with Damyn. He was a wonderful addition! Honor and he had chemistry throughout the 4 previous books so it fit.
Overall, I’m happy the story concluded. One of my favorite RH series and I would happily recommend reading it!
(One thing I did enjoy, was how the baby scared Honor but for the right reasons. The subject was approached in a way that suited Honor’s character. BUT WHO IS THE FATHER?!?)
Honor never was likable. Her behavior. How she treated her men. So toxic yet few called her on her nonsense.
In this final book, the writing was chaotic. Whether by design or not? I don’t know. Dawson usually writes compelling stories. I think she wasn’t quite able to build all of the characters in this little harem quite in the way they needed to.
The storyline for it all was a bit disjointed. While I think there were some incredible moments in this series, I just don’t know how I feel about it.
I decided to wait until I finished the series before I reviewed it. I will say that, at this point, I have not read Everlasting Honor, the short 5.5 novella that topped off the series. I probably will though.
Book one captured my attention, and I enjoyed it a lot. I loved Honor, and her blasé way of doing things. I loved the guys. Talisyn might have been my favorite in this book. But I loved them all. It gave me Thone of Glass vibes mixed with a little Game of Thrones. Now, before you Sara J Mass gatekeepers come for me, I said that's the vibes I get from it. I am not trying to put May Dawson on the sky-high pedestal of Mass.
Book two was also great, it continued the story without slowing down. I liked how the plot wasn't drug out too much. It didn't leave me feeling like nothing happened, or unsatisfied. In fact, it made me want to pick up the third book immediately.
Third book.... Okay, this one was a bit like reading tower of dawn, or the second book in the crescent city series. Actually scratch that, the second book in the crescent city series sucked in my opinion. I struggled to finish that one and it took me over a month to force my way through it. This one wasn't that bad. I'm not a fan of splitting the main characters to far apart and switching between all the story lines. Although this one didn't do too much switching. But even that was a little frustrating because we didn't know what was going on with a couple of our guys until almost the end of the book. I LOVE a reverse Harem romance, but Honor's was a legit Harem. She had a lot of hot guys. I LOVED it. But I can also understand how that many characters can be hard to upkeep without the plot getting lost. With all that being said, this book didn't suck. A lot of important stuff happened in it. And even though I did ultimately enjoy the story, I loved the Gladiator fights, and I loved the time Honor got to spend with the particular guys that were with her in this book, it wasn't my favorite in the series and that was probably due to the use of my least favorite trope involving Talisyn, who is a favorite character of mine. I wanted resolution there, and it didn't come in this book.
Fourth book: One word- ZEHR.... If you know, you know... We waited, we anticipated, we knew it was coming... The only time I was a little irritated with Honor. She took too long to admit where she stood with him. I wanted more of Zehr, because we all love a good villain. I enjoyed this one. Again, with so many characters, we see a break in which characters are given page space, while some sadly take a back seat.
Book Five: Wrapped up my overall feelings for the series as a whole. We FINALLY get to see Damyn stop acting like a ninny. We get a lot of resolutions. I really enjoyed watching Honor step up and work through her own crap, which she apparently would never have been able to do without the help of her 8 guys. Especially the ones who told her, straight up, to stop being a whiny little B*t*h and do what she had to do. I loved it. I loved the HEA.
Obviously, if you have read this on Kindle Unlimited, you know there are typos throughout it. But I will say that none of these typos interfered with the story for me. I always knew what it was and I was not distracted or confused. And I don't rate a book on that. I rate it on how much I enjoyed the story. It is all about the story itself to me. And I am so happy that writers like May Dawson are creating books like this and brave enough to post them on Kindle Unlimited for us to read and enjoy. They obviously are not ran through editors or Beta readers before getting published. But this book was fun. The story and the characters were fun to me. Who doesn't love dragons? Or a spunky main Female lead who is more comfortable stealing trinkets and jumping balconies than rubbing elbows with nobility on the dance floor? And EIGHT hot guys who all have different love languages, but LOVE to love our main girl?!
Overall, I give the series as a whole 4 stars and the spice, I give a three and half chili peppers. If you like romantasy and RHs, you might like this one.
Trigger Warnings this Book Contains: Anxiety, Attempted Murder, Blood, Bones, Cannibalism, Death, Emotional Abuse, Fire, Gore, Infertility, Murder, Pregnancy, Profanity, Sexually Explicit Scenes, Violence, War
Ebba has been unleashed, Ebba’s assassin is targeting Caldren, Kallus’ boats are surrounding the isle, and Honor is working with Zehr to lift the curse of the scourge. The road to healing the isle will be covered in blood. Tor and Kessily, the scourge's right hands to Lord Zehr, plot to take the crown while he is weak. While the scourge become restless and uncontrollable, they attack Rylow, leaving behind bloodied streets. Branok and Lynx take it upon themselves to work towards securing the gates and the city. Jaik stays with Caldren, at Caldren’s rebel camp, to keep him safe from Ebba’s assassin – through earthquake, poison chaos cockroaches, and a temple collapse. While all her royals are off fighting their own battles, Honor is stuck fighting against the problems her parents created – the scourge. Kessily has formed an uprising and dragged the people Honor loves into it, Calla has been turned into a scourge, and Honor decides to make Kessily pay. Honor makes her a sacrifice for Ebba in an attempt to make a deal to save the lives of those that she loves, but the body is rejected and a deal cannot be made. In an attempt to continue rectifying the wrongs done by her father, Honor must finish collecting the pieces of the scourge stone, which means meeting with Kallus. In this final attempt to collect the stone, heal her land, and attempt to have a peaceful life, the question becomes what won’t Honor do to save everyone?
So, here we are still with high fantasy, I’m honestly glad it kept up the genre. It didn’t expand too much on world-building with this book, it instead focused on some magic, war, and resolving problems. The reverse harem trope is continued, adding one final man to her legion (one of the best ones.) I like the fact that the multiple points of view were continued. This book explored the same themes as the others, familial trauma, friendship, war, emotional trauma, etc.
This book was done similarly to those that came before it, picking up where the last book ended. I think that this book was mediocre. It was so slow. There was some good information released finally in the book, some small things here and there that did make it somewhat exciting. However, the action, the war, that has been building up until this point was dragged throughout the whole book, and the resolve with Ebba, was not until the last 20%. There is also the continuous issue of editing errors, continuity errors, and character confusion. There was a LARGE error at the 40% point, where a significant event is fumbled, and ends up being a replay of something that has already occurred. There are also large events that go unresolved throughout the book like some of these events were just thrown in and left. In previous books, it is worth noting that each POV from different characters received their own chapters. In this book, not each point of view got its chapter – some continued from someone else’s POV with a small divider and a name to signify the change. Overall, I felt like this series could have used some drastic editing changes – to help keep it all in check. It also felt like the books stretched on for a little too long, with not enough significant information or events occurring in some of them. It almost felt like the tempo was wrong, some books dragged in the beginning and then shoved the action/necessary plot development into the last 20% - 30% of the story. This was an extremely rough read for me, it took a little over nine days for just 486 pages. This all being said; I believe that this series had a lot of potential but was honestly a letdown. I would not recommend this series due to the consistency of errors that occurred throughout the five books. However, if this is something you are still interested in (which is okay, there is NO judgment here), I would not recommend it to anyone below the age of 18 due to the graphic sexually explicit scenes.
In the prologue of this book we learn about Damyn and his relationship with Honor's parents.
As this book opens, Lynx and Branok are researching the God Ebba and the chaos when he's in this world. Nobles had brought him back to do their bidding and kill Caldren. They fought their way out of that but there's still some Nobles that need to be done away with, and that is what they plan to do. They are in the city where the academy is and the others are scattered in different places.
Honor is caring for Zehr with the help of Arren and is also considering taking on the crown of the lord of the scourge. After Tor attempts to take the crown from Zehr, a messenger from her uncle, King Kallus arrives. He wants a word and Honor wants a war.
The scourge attack the city and Branok collects Hanna from the Posselbaum Academy. They go off to find Jaik and Caldren.
Jaik and Caldren are together in the rebel camp. Nora has let them know there is unhappiness at that fact. An earthquake has them finding a tunnel at the bottom of the opened chasm. That leads them to where hybrids were being made, whether by Zehr or their father they aren't sure. But they are attacked by cat sized armored bugs.
Honor is collecting the scourge stones. She gets her father's from Kallum and also takes her mother's things from him. She's also trying to deal with Ebba, that isn't going well. Her mother's scourge stone is in the hilt of her sword, so that's the next thing Honor is going after.
Through all of this with Zehr dying, the scourge are attacking with more frequency.
At this moment, Honor bears three marks, Jaik's, Caldren's and Zehr's. The next mark she gets is from Talisyn but they mark each other. She later marks Branok and Lynx and they her.
In order to save Zehr, she takes the bone crown willingly and becomes Queen of the Scourge. Now she has to find the rest of the scourge stones and end this madness, even if it takes away the other magics. It will correct a great wrong.
They need to find Amily's sword with it's scourge stone, and then deal with Joachim and get the remain stones from him. There's also Kallum, who has plans for himself and Honor.
There is a lot happening in this book, and many different battles, some of war and some not.
I love the way this story plays out for all of them. It is the perfect conclusion to this series!
This series had me hook, line, and sinker. What a hell of a journey! The story never got boring, there was a lot going on throughout the whole series. I was engaged the whole time and loving (almost) every moment of it. This series had a few moments where I felt genuinely sad for Honor and the guys. I liked that the characters were flawed and they overcame the odds to come together.
I loved this series so much that I actually have gone back and re-read certain scenes. I have Kindle Unlimited, I read all of these through Kindle Unlimited. After finishing the series, I bought the full series to support the author and to be able to reread.
I liked Honor's character a lot. She was often stubborn, reckless, and headstrong... but I loved it. The main driving force behind Honor was to protect those she loves, to protect the people of her Kingdom, and to do what is right.. even when it wasn't the popular decision.
I knocked a star point off due to a combination of a few things: the spelling/grammar errors (there was a scene told from Pend's POV but he mentions himself by name in a way that makes it seem like it wasn't originally told from his POV and was edited, but not edited well), how confusing a lot of things were due to poor sentence structure or not enough details (the timeline of events, ages of characters, who certain characters were, who was speaking, and sometimes even what was happening was often confusing as a result of this issue), Honor got over the abuse from the guys way too fast (only one of the guys was truly "forced" to grovel), and the sex scenes could have used more details and polish.
I still enjoyed the series despite these issues. I would definitely re-read the full series, but if those things were fixed this would probably be my favorite reverse harem series hands down. I enjoyed the series so much I've started looking at the authors other books to read more. I'm going to read Hanna's series after this, but I will be waiting for it to be finished first.
( Okay so I took a month long break from reading to watch Critical Role and I stopped about 80% through the book which I will never recommend to anyone! I had to go back to the beginning and read a few lines from each chapter to refresh my memory to get back into the flow of this series. ) Oh my goodness I was so close to the story finally coming together answering so many of the questions I had while still keeping me on my toes unsure of what would happen next to Honor and her men in this chaotic magical word of theirs. I know there's a short novella that follows this final book and thank the heavens for that because the ending of this book felt a bit rushed to me. The author could have taken her time and allowed it to be maybe another thirty pages when it came to wrapping up the intertwined storylines of the main characters. It felt like a short sweet ending that was too quick for such a long perilous journey, as if the characters deserved more and to live in the moment of overcoming obstacles so mystical that even in a world of magic people would struggle to believe it all to be true. I imagine that the novella will soothe the being cut short feeling, but I wish it would have been included in this book as an extended epilogue maybe? By far my favorite book of series and I would highly recommend it to anyone whose interested in reverse harems, shifter romances, good banter, combat/action, interesting magic systems and some good ole spice ;D The series so far has been a pleasant surprise to me, and I didn’t expect to enjoy it all as much as I did. Not until this series had I ever thought I would enjoy both reverse harems and shifter romances as much as I do! Thank you Dawson for broadening my horizons in books <3 4/5 stars I can see myself rereading this series in the future when I need a story I can rely on with both good plot and smut to help get me out of a slump <3 I will be checking out some of May Dawson's other books in the future too! :)
Oh my god!!! I love this series so much 😭😭😭 the ending though!!! When Zehr died I could have cried!!!! But when he came back I was so happy and wanted to shoot him at the same time!!! I really think he’s my favorite character in this besides Daymn, Talison, and Honor. I also love the relationship Brak has with Hannah, it’s so sweet… and seeing Jaik and Caldren work together was great. All of these characters have such great strong personalities and relationships and this story is so unique in that she didn’t just choose a relationship with one or two of them… at the beginning i though it was just going to be jaik, caldron, and Tal… but when she had all of them in the same room hanging out together, it warmed my heart. I’m actually kind of jealous!!! I wish I had 8 sexy men who all loved me and would bust each others heads open if they hurt me. Polyamory is so taboo though and I don’t think any man would be okay with it in real life. Alas! I’ll continue with reading these amazing stories and dreaming lol 😂 but I want Ebba gone so bad and part of me is relieved that Kallus js dead now but I feel so sad for honor… when she found out it wasn’t her mom and it was kallus…how he was plotting from the moment they met… it killed me for her. What a TWIST! So many twists and turns! I’ve been addicted to reading it! Ganna go see what “everlasting honor” is all about now. Maybe I should eat something first but I just can’t stop reading! Thank you Miss May Dawson, you have made a fan out of me!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥
Fantastical finish! *RH *Fantasy *multi-POV *dragon shifters *prophecy *slow building harem (8) *slow/mid burn 🔥 *5/5 it’s been questionable all the way through and most definitely in this last book whether Honor will ever get her HEA 😬 Although this book starts off with the harem separated: Jaik and Caldren attempting to bridge the gap between prey and predator shifters; Lynx and Branok trying to keep the capital and Academy going; Talisyn and Damyn are attempting to find Honor and check she’s not get herself in anymore trouble; Arren is with Honor attempting to deal with Zehr and the repercussions of his actions! Somehow circumstances bring Honors and all of her men back together 😄 an absolute blessing as between Joachim, Kallus and Ebba they’re fighting a war on three sides… not helped by the continuing erratic behaviour of the Scourge 😫 there’s certainly some connections going on between these three but it’s unclear as to who is actually pulling the strings. and for some of them to what ends - can they really trust what any of them are saying or up to 😬 There are plenty of trials and tribulations for the group throughout this book including some real shocks and heart stoppers!! 😳 What I’ve really enjoyed is the character redemption arcs throughout these books for the boys, this last book has focused on one’s major redemptions as well 😃 they do finally come together as a family unit 🥰 Everything is wrapped up in this series finale 😁
I was so excited when Royal Honor hit my kindle, and May didn't disappoint with the finale of Honor and her guy's story!
We start out book 4, with everyone pretty much apart from each other, Lynx and Branok are attempting to keep the Academy and capital going. Talisyn and Damyn are working on finding Honor, making sure she hasn't gotten into any more trouble. Arren is with Honor, dealing with Zehr and that whole mess. Last but not least we've got Jaik and Caldren working on bridging the gap between predator and prey shifters. So, all of our characters really have their hands full!
Don't worry your heart will want to beat out of your chest when you're reading this book. The roller coaster of emotions isn't in short supply. Between them being separated, the Scourge mess, and the different battles they are all facing. It's plenty of worries to make sure that everyone that needs to make it out alive, does.
One thing that was done beautifully was May's ability to bring all of Honor's guys redemption! Whew, I loved reading about all of the guys, one in imparticular 😉, and they finally came together as a whole. Even though Honor's journey to the amazing woman she is now hasn't been easy, the ending is 100% worth it. The HEA that they all get was seriously a sight to see, especially if you remember back to book 1 and how much hatred and anger so many of them held.
Book 5 picks up the story after Book 4 “Wild Honor”. The story will be confusing if you haven’t read the previous books, preferably in order. I’m continuing the series after several months, and I needed to review the characters and story so far. It would be best to binge the series now that the final book is published so you don’t forget the characters, their backstories, and their relationships. Watch for the change in PoV at chapter breaks. It will be confusing if you don’t realize whose the PoV is and think it’s someone else’s. Honor, Arren, Zehr, Damyn, Branok, Lynx, Talisyn, Jaik, Cauldron, and all the rest are back for the continuation of Book 4 after the shocking cliffhanger. The long campaign by Ebba and Kallus, and the scheming of Zehr, provide constant challenges to Honor and her men trying to unite the prey and predator shifters and cure the Scourge victims. There is a lot of blood and violence as the various armies clash. Honor and her men mark each other and have frequent hot sex between the many battles. Finally, after many unexpected twists and turns, the various wicked plots and conspiracies are laid bare and overcome, and the villains are dead (or banished to another dimension). Then there are a few unexpected twists even after the battles are won for a well-deserved HEA ending.
The final conclusion to the Dragon Royals series, Royal Honor, by May Dawson was everything you could want it to be and more! Seeing Honor and ALL her men finally come together on an epic emotional, action packed roller coaster of a ride was pure perfection as Dawson didn’t hold back!
This final story picks up where the fourth one left us with the turmoil from discoveries regarding the mess of the Scourge and the past of shifters and the original royals and of course our group being separated and each facing their own battles while trying to reconnect and reach their own goals.
With so many questions needing answered this intriguing story does not disappoint! Dawson was such a master at wrapping up all those loose ends (Ebba, Kallie, the Scourge etc) that I am still in awe with how much this story sucked me in. And finally getting a chance to see Honor and all her men come together and realize that regardless of pasts they have one common goal, and one amazing queen that deserved to have it all, was absolute perfection! And Damyn. Sigh. Let’s just say one word. FINALLY!!! 🥵
This series had so much growth, betrayals, redemptions and twists enough out the story arc I’m almost sad to see it end—but oh what an ending it was! If you love dragon shifter why choose romance stories full of magic, angst and lord of steam this is definitely the one for you!
Wow this book took me through an emotional rollercoaster pretty much start to finish. I can say I was not expecting that to hit so hard. Honestly not sure what to even begin with. We have Zeher hanging in by a mer thread and Honor so conflicted over him then you have Talisyn who wants so bad to not keep hurting Honor and is trying his best to do what is right and then the brothers Caldren and Jaik trying to set aside deep set hard to change differences to not only bring their kingdom back together but to make Honor happy and if that’s not enough for you we have zombies threatening to over run the place family secrets betrayal and so much more being worked through in this book that I’m afar is if I say even a small piece about anything I could be running it for someone so I’ll say this. Do your self a favor and if you have t already started the series do so now and if you have then why are you taking time reading this just go jump int the book and find out those answers you are dying for. It was one amazing series and I am excited to see what this author does next. Also if you are not team Talisyn by the end of this book there is something extremely wrong with you
Royal Honor is the fifth and final book of the Dragon Royals series by May Dawson.
💜 wild and passionate FMC 💜 multiple different shifter 💜 curses 💜 mysteries 💜 chaos god 💜 forced proximity 💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spicy spice
This book, much like the rest of the series, picks right up where the last book left off. With still so much to accomplish, it seems Honor’s plate continues to get piled on with the tasks that need to be completed to save her men or the kingdom. And on top of that, a chaos god to defeat and distract. Oh, and did I mention the uncle that is. King from another kingdom with potentially nefarious plans for Honor and the isle ghat she supposed to rule? Will she succeed in breaking the curse of Scrouge? Will all of her men make it through unscathed? Will the kingdom come together in the end?
This was a good ending to this series. It still kept me on my toes until the very end. I love how Honor kept trying no matter what to do right in every decision she made, no matter how hard it was or how much she put her own neck on the line. She definitely lived by the motto play hard and love hard. This was a fun series to read.
Really enjoyed this series! I was interested in the story and the relationships, so unfortunately I read 4 of the books in one day and can't really recall what happened in each book.
The relationships seemed to build organically, and there are definitely some surprises along the way! I feel like the plot moved quickly with a lot happening, but sometimes it felt like sections had been missed to explain a little more about what happened. This is slightly different from other RH books, as the series go on the group split up to achieve different tasks rather than all sticking together which was nice for a change.
There are some typos which while understandle do pull you out of the story a little, the worst ones were when names seemed to have autocorrected and I had to double check that it wasn't a new character (at one point there's a Darren, when the character is called Arren).
Overall, I really enjoyed the series and just wish we had gotten a longer epilogue/ending to see the group enjoying some peace!
I had been running from my feelings most of my life, pretending to be glib and careless. But I’d mourned so much. Loved and lost so much. The intensity of that pain had felt like it was too much for me to bear.
Now those feelings were weapons.
I cant believe that this is the final installment in what has been an ERIC Fantasy full of love, Loss, Betrayal, Hope and Redemption.
Honor is the most amazing character and in this book we see her Blossom into a formidable but worthy Queen and her men come together for teh sake of the Kingdom.
Its difficult to say too much with out giving anythung away but there are alot of ments that will pull your heart strings, have you jumping for joy and also your vindictive side may even peek out for a moment or two.
|I absoluteley Loved every twist and turn and am really hoping that Hanna's sister gets her own spin off as i can see so much potential and would love more stories in this world.
I was a little disappointed with the ending of this book series. I had hoped to see more of the transition to queen for Honor. I mean she was also juggling 8 men. How does that dynamic work in Honor's "everyday life"? Also, it felt like we should have been able to see more about how the predator vs prey argument played out. These politics were a huge part of all 5 books and all we were given was a surprise fake funeral. >.< There was so much prejudice happening all FIVE books and we didn't see justice for that. The plot was so overly hectic and try hard that I think the ending of the story got lost and muddied. I wish there were more strong female characters instead of eight mates, but that's just me. The two other women in the series, Nora and the snake queen, went after Honor's men. Also Calla & friends weren't given much resolution. C'mon besides Honor where is the girl power & positivity?? :(
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Although they were few inconsistencies. Example: Honor had 10 days to get money for her sister tuition; deadline was forgotten, and it was 'resolved' as Jaik paying it after really looong time. Even if Caldren twice gave gold to Honor.
And some things were forgotten or set aside because of the sheer amount of things happening at the same time. Example, Hanna- she was important part of book 1, but later on she was just pushed aside and toward the end she was more of a cameo character...
Besides that, FMC was great she had her quirks and she really grew along all her mates.
One of best parts for me was that each relationship with either of her mates was different, I don't mind insta love at times, but there's something really special to indulge in story that shows us how relationship grows. And it's especially more important in RH were sometimes FMC prospect mates/love interest are lumped together or just thrown in bed and that's it.
