Logan O’Connell is a flirt, a player, and my best friend.
My matchmaking mother goes beyond most matchmaking mothers so when she made the assumption Logan and I were more than friends, I let her. If for no other reason than to escape the plumber or doctor she has lined up. I’m not ready for a relationship. I’m happy to have a wingman.
But now she expects me to bring him to our lake house for the long weekend. It gets worse. We’re expected to share a bed. My older brother keeps poking holes in my fake relationship to keep Mom from shoving blondes and redheads his way.
One kiss sparks an attraction we both ignored. But the show must go on. A weekend of giving into temptation shouldn’t be an issue. Romantic entanglements aren’t on either our to-do lists but bottling up those feelings might prove to be impossible. I want more than an affair and he only wants a fling.

Pros: - Got right into the story, the couple were sleeping together within like 15% which I like as I’m not a slow burn fan - Amazing tropes, all ones I really enjoy - Steamy - Loved Logan, our main character, and how he definitely fell first
Cons: - The structure of the story for me was very off. I think the ending was rushed and not developed enough whereas content could have been removed from the first 45% to “make space” - There was a lot of repetition in the characters inner monologue which got quite annoying - The last 10% of the book just annoyed me. Normally I absolutely love a proposal but it came at the absolute worst time, and acted as if it solved all of the female characters insecurities and problems and it did not. They needed to communicate so much more and honestly I think the girl could have done with some therapy
Tropes: - Best friends to lovers - Fake Dating - Forced Proximity / One Bed
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥.5/5

This is my first read of Amy lark and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love her writing style the banter between characters, The Angst, the steam and there's just enough drama. It was a satisfying read.
Logan and Claire are the best of friends and coworkers. they do everything together from work to hanging out at bars watching games, clubbing and being each other's Wing men/wing woman. Their relationship has never crossed lines. they've always known where they stood, they've helped each other get action. they encourage each other to go out and have some fun.
they are both very attractive people and neither one of them are blind to that fact. they believe their friendship is more important than acting upon their attraction. until Claire's mother is relentless on trying to set her up. so when a holiday weekend comes along and Claire's mother tells her that she has a man lined up for her to meet she panics because she likes her life just how it is and ask Logan the ultimate favor. she asks him to be her fake boyfriend and spend the weekend with her and her family and it was a crazy weekend. it was awesome the carnal attraction between Claire and Logan was undeniable. this is a fake dating, one bed trope and you will blush in some of the steamy scenes. absolutely amazing. when they get caught in their lie and Claire comew clean with her family you think it might end there but no the whole weekend they were not fighting their attraction for each other and in doing so it Unleashed feelings deep down that they had they wouldn't tell each other because they're so afraid of ruining their friendship. Which for me was so frustrating but it left the story so interesting I couldn't put it down. I wanted to keep reading when everything blows up in their face some people notice Logan and Claire change in their demeanor. they are trying to fight their attraction because they don't want to ruin their friendship but they're still attracted to each other and the physical doesn't stop. the banter doesn't stop even when they get back home and try to make things go back to normal. it's there and it's not fading. When they go with their other coworkers and a vengeful woman of Logans past trys to sabotage them, Claire gets spooked and ends thing before her heart can get even more invested. Logan however is determined to prove to her they can work..
this story is a really good one because it gives you all the emotions you feel what they're both struggling through you feel the Friendship the desire the worry. It was great
This book is for the smut readers! Lark delivers a spicy friends to lovers, one bed weekend romp in Note Quite Faking It. Logan and Claire agree to fake date over Labor Day weekend in order to get Claire's mom off her back about dating. This scenario brings about the forced proximity, fake dating and just one bed trope. I think the tropes were done well and I enjoyed watching these two friends explore a different kind of connection. The spice is spicy! Bring your fans, you're gonna need 'em. I think the romance and characters could have been developed more but that didn't ruin the book for me. I was still entertained. A quick, fun read for the spice lovers!
* Thank you to Grey's Promotions and the author for providing an advanced readers copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
▶This story is all about Logan and Claire, who are best friends and co-workers, they are friendship goals for me, they do everything and they have similar tastes, and mainly they know that there is some sort of attraction between them, but they decided to be friends. They know their place in the relationship, and they always have each other as a support system.
▶But soon enough, their friendship going to turn into a relationship more like a fake dating to escape from Claire's mother's matchmaking, one day, Claire receives a call from her mother that, she found the perfect match for Claire to settle down happily, which she wishes to see. But our Claire has no interest in a relationship at the moment and she doesn't like to go on dates with whoever her mother chooses.
▶So, Claire asks her best friend if Logan acts like her boyfriend, her family knows Logan they thought they were a best friend but what will happen when Claire introduce Logan as her boyfriend? One kiss and one passionate night with each other take place to change everything between them.
▶This is my first book from this author, when I read the synopsis of this book, it was quite interesting and eye-catching, I like to read this trope, where best friends turn into lovers, and I must say the storyline in the book is so good to read, it's amazing, you know, Logan mom, she is the highlight of this book, I could, I need his mom in my life, she gives the best advice and she is the best of giving solutions to problems.
▶Some point of view, I see myself in Logan, I don't like to get hurt and I hate getting hurt and sad, so I am always distant from getting hurt, he also likes that, you can read more about him in this book, he was delusional, deciding his relationship with Claire, I love the ending of their story, it was great to read and it was fun and I do enjoy this book a lot, their chemistry💥 Check out this book, if you like to read these types of tropes included in a story. And also, I voluntarily signed up to read this book and it didn't disappoint me for sure. Thanks for the ARC. This book is available on Kindle Unlimited, check it out.
Thank you soo much for sending me a copy of this book to read and review.
This is my first Amy Lark book and will Not be the last. I loved reading this story. It was funny, sweet, romantic and sexy. Everything we want from a romance.
Logan and Claire work together and are the absolute best of friends. They do practically everything together expect the deed.
Claire's mom is pushy and has been trying to set her up with everyone and anyone. So, when her mom thinks that Claire and Logan are an item, she lets her run with it. What she doesn't bank on is her mom inviting him to the family lake vacation.
Logan is a playboy. Every girl wants him, and he knows it. He uses women to protect his heart after being rejected at a young age repeatedly. But this playboy has longed for his best friend since the moment he saw her and loves everything about her.
They friend zoned each other from the start but their attraction was something they couldn't hide they just needed that weekend away to push them together. But these two are both insecure about themselves and each other and it's a case of if they can survive??
Seriously loved this book and cannot wait to read more of your work.
My Overall Rating is 5 💋💋💋💋💋 My Passion Rating is 4 💋💋💋💋
Logan and Claire are best friends. They work as a team at the advertising firm they both work at. They go to game nights at a local bar and Claire really knows football. She's loud and obnoxious during games and often throws things at the TV. They have even been each other's wingman when they go out.
Now Claire needs a huge favor. The annual family/neighborhood party at the lake is coming up and Claire needs to bring a boyfriend. All she can think about is Logan as her fake boyfriend. Will he do it?
Logan agrees, but when they get there Claire's mom has put them in the same room. In a queen size bed. So this is going to be tight since Logan is pretty sizeable. Can they do this without risking having sex. Neither wants to risk their friendship. But the heat is too much.
I loved this story. Holy cow, was this story a hot one. With moms who want to partner up their adult kids. And ever getting involved in their love lives. Brought absolutely hilarious moments. Loved the things mom stuffed in the bedside table. Never laughed so hard.
If you prefer a bit more steam than story, then Not Quite Faking It is the book for you. Amy Lark is a new author for me and she is a truly talented writer.
Claire and Logan are work colleagues and best friends. They do everything together, including knowing when to skedaddle when one or the other has the potential for a hookup. They both love football and many nights are spent watching and cheering on their beloved game. So it is no surprise that Logan agrees to be Claire's fake boyfriend during her family's vacation weekend. Claire's loving, but meddling mother is constantly fixing her up when she comes home for a visit, which drives Claire crazy. Sharing a bedroom and then a kiss turns their sexual tension into much more. Logan is afraid of labeling their new relationship and Claire wants forever.
I liked this story, however, I just wish there was more of it. There was an overabundance of sexy times, which were very well written, but took away from the exploration of the characters and their intricacies. I plan on reading more from this author.
Logan and Claire are work colleagues as well as best friends. Claire's mum thinks Logan is Claire's boyfriend and expects him to be present for the Labour Day weekend.
😊What i liked -
✔ Friends to Lovers/Fake Dating/Office Romance/Forced Proximity. ✔ I loved Claire's character. She is super weird. (You'll know why within the first few pages) ✔ I loved the chemistry between both the characters. So effortless. ✔ This book is super blushy steamy spicy. (don't worry it has a story too) ✔ I loved how nosey her family and friends were. (I laughed at the bet). ✔ Not too dramatic but enough drama, friendship and romance.
🤔What could have been better -
✔ The lake scene was a little too much for me.
📚Who Should read :

📈My Rating : 4/5
P.s - I was really intrigued with the mystery surrounding Sean, so I hope we get a book on him soon. Though I have a feeling we'll be getting Emily's story next.
Thank You Amy Lark and Grey's Promotions for a copy.
Ok, first off if you don’t like spicy books with very sexual characters, this might not be for you - this book was hot!
Logan & Claire are best friends - and only best friends - until Claire needs Logan to come home for Labor Day weekend with her as her fake boyfriend. Things get very steamy after that!
I really liked Logan as our MMC - he was gorgeous, respectful, funny, and adored Claire. Claire was a great FMC as well - she loved sports, had many sides to her (like a lot of us do), and had a tender heart underneath her exterior. There was a lot of great banter in this book, too.
However, I felt like the end of the book was rushed. A lot of the middle could have been condensed to make a little more room for the ending. I didn’t feel like I connected with the characters like I wanted to - but still enjoyed them. I also felt like their inner monologue got very redundant which was a little annoying.
If you enjoy the following, you should check this out: •A LOT of steamy scenes •best friends to lovers •fake boyfriend/girlfriend •funny banter •He falls first
firt off i want to say thank you to amy clark for this arc.
tropes: fake dating, bestfriend to lovers, workplace romance, always been you,
this was my fiirst book my amy lark and i couldnt put it down it was so good ive read alot of fake dating books but this book right here just takes the cake. i loved claires charcter she was not your typical female lead and i loved how much she loved football and how her and logan has a traditon thT they followed.
i loved how logan did not give up on claire everytime she wanted to end there no label relationship and there frindship was everything to me and how logan treated was just so wholesome.
this book right here was everything i needed to get out of a bookslump. i have never been so consumed and happy to read book, i could not put it dow it was just so good.
This is my first read for Amy Lark and it did not disappoint.
The story is based off Logan and Claire. These two are best friends and hang out together all the time. Both Logan and Claire find each other attractive but they just know that their relationship will not workout with each other and it’s best to stay as friends.
Claire’s mom decides it’s time for Claire to head over to their Labor Day celebration BUT bring her boyfriend who she has been “dating” for a few months now to meet the family. Or else she could always introduce her daughter to other potential boyfriend candidates.
She asks Logan to be her fake boyfriend for the entire time of the stay for Labor Day and he accepts. During this time things start to change between them.
This book is spicy and if you’re favorite trope is friends to lovers this book is just for you!
This is the 4th book in this series, and this is Logan and Claire’s story. Logan is a player, but he and Claire are best friends and co-workers, and are there for each other as a wing man / wing woman. Claire has a meddling matchmaking mother, who thinks that they are more than just friends, and she wants him to come with Claire for a long family weekend, which means they will be sharing the same bed. Things become steamy, but neither wants to ruin the relationship they have, so what will happen when they get back to work? This is a well written story which is fun, and with family, angst, undeniable chemistry, turmoil, family, friendships, emotions, and love, which leads to a compelling page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Read if you like: Friends to lovers, spicy 🔥, fake dating, one bed
Logan O’Connell is a flirt, a player, and Claire's best friend. Her mother is relentless about her dating so she says she's with Logan. Now she expects Claire to bring him to the family lake house for the long Labor Day weekend. They get there to discover, of course, they are sharing a bed.
This book is 🔥. It's extremely spicy. Little more sex than storyline but I'm not mad at it. There did need to be a bit more character development in my opinion and the ending was a hit rushed. However, it was sexy, sweet, and I love a great fake dating trope. The banter between these two was perfection. This is a fourth book but can be read alone. Highly recommend!
Big thank you to Grey's Promotions for the gifted ebook!
Lost interest at around 35%. The chemistry between the two main characters is very obviously there, but I’m not feeling this one. Both are used to being with other people and are using this weekend together as anything goes weekend. But they are still looking at other people and thinking of being with other people. Encouraging others to look at them or at their “girlfriend”. I don’t see how the characters will develop into more mature adults and their relationship into more. I dont see a romantic relationship at all just a friends with benefits relationship between two people who aren’t ready to commit to anyone. Not sure how the author manages to pull off a relationship between the two because I just couldn’t get pasted the petty immature situations.
Logan and Claire work together and have become best friends. Between work and watching sports they spend a lot of time together. To get her meddling mother off her back, Logan goes home with Claire as her boyfriend. One thing led to another and these two are sharing a room and burning up the sheets. Between her nosy family and friends, these two have a lot of acting to do. When they get back to reality what will happen to their budding relationship? I enjoyed this book and the laugh out loud characters. Their definitely was a lot of back and forth on who wants a relationship and who wants friends with benefits. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
This is Book 4 in the Just Ad Love Standalone Series by this author. It is a steamy, friends to lovers romance between Claire and Logan. These likeable characters and the unique plot make for an enjoyable read. What starts out as a fake boyfriend relationship turns into something more. It is a bumpy ride filled with drama, humor, sweetness, frustrating moments, family dynamic, and twists, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. A sweet yet steamy love story.
I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Grey's Promotions and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
The book was really good. Best friends to lover. Very smutty. Claire and Logan have been best friends for a while and for Labor Day weekend Claire asks Logan to be her fake bf when she goes back home. We have fake a dating and one bed trope🫶🏼 I think this wasn’t a 5 star read for me because it felt like every chapter was filled with so much smut. The ending was also very rushed for me. I wish they would have dated instead of jumping into commitment.
This book blew my mind! I loved it so much! I went through so much emotional turmoil while reading and I loved every minute of it. Thank you Amy for writing such an incredible story. Logan and Claire’s relationship is everything I could want. Thank you to Greys Promo and Amy for an ARC Not Quite Faking It. I want to read everything from Amy now.
Best friends faking a relationship that turns hot and heavy y’all need to check this book out! logan and claire best friends each other wings men or women what happened when they play fake relationship and one kiss ignites a spark that’s always been there! I really enjoyed this one!!!! four stars and SPICY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you greys promotions and amy lark for ARC
Second book I read by this author and in this series. I had just finished the other book so could relate to the characters. I would recommend this book as a good one and a good series to read.
This was my first book by Amy Lark and I really liked it. It tells the story about Logan and Claire, two co-workers, who happen to also be best friends. They immediately hit it off with their mutual love for watching football at the bar, where Claire turns into one of the guys during those times.
They both have quite some flings, never going home with the same one. When one weekend she has to go to the family lake house for the holiday, she doesn’t want to go alone, because her mother will have another possible boyfriend waiting for her. She’s not ready to settle down, so she asks Logan to be her fake-boyfriend for the weekend. She just didn’t count on the fact that they will have the share the same bed. When they give into temptation, things might nog be as fake as they thought it was.
This book was a real page turner, so easy to read, so hard to put it down. Amy writes the perfect drama that comes along with this fake relationship, along with the funny and steamy scenes. I’m going to read the previous books in this series, just to see how they got their HEA, can’t wait to read them.
My first & definitely won’t be the last book that I read by Amy Lark. My favorite part of romcom books is the banter and there was definitely hilarious banter between Logan & Claire.
I found it to be an easy read with plenty of humor and heart.
