When I see a Freighter crash on a barbarian planet in the middle of deep space, I follow it down to the surface. That is when I learn there are slaves aboard, and one of them is feisty Jessika. As an Outlaw from my tribe, I have no right to claim a Mating Female, yet I am tempted by Jessika as I have never been tempted by a female before, and soon I am willing to risk everything for a chance at a future with my Human mate.

This was a cute little book with a virgin MMC, insecure and lonely FMC, and high stakes. I liked the setting for the book - a super muddy planet. The characters had good chemistry, although I would have liked a bit more character development.
Spice: 4/5
Triggers: abduction, survival scenarios, light gore
I do not appreciate the absolute insult this book was. I did not finish this book. I couldn't it became to freaking ridiculous. Like I genuinely want to drop f-bombs here at the ridiculous terrible characters. You have the weakest group of FMC's. You have a group of 5 women and they are okay with sending out just one of them to CLIMB A FUCKING MOUNTAIN to look for help on an alien planet they crash landed on.
As if that singular girl in a fucking skirt and blazer is going to make it. Yes, that's great. Excellent choice. Now we have the FMC venturing out on her own and comes across another alien who crash lands. He is completely naked. So d&b just hanging out. But it's cool he's in boots it's fine. Now we have the rush romance and stupidity all around. Once again the common themes are here:
1. characters who are incapable of communication between eachother? check. 2. a female character who acts as if aliens from another planet will understand womens liberation, will understand our mating interactions, flirtations, etc. Check. 3. you have a female who is in charge of helping 4 other people and she meets up with of course a sexy MMC but doesn't even tell him once about the other girls. Check 4. she thinks about the other girls but never mentions them. REPEATEDLY. could have drawn them but didn't. Check
At every single interaction this was one of the WORST books I've read. And not because the writing itself was terrible. Page can string decent words together. The problem is she only is showcasing a capability of regurgitating TIRED tropes with NO originality.
You insult your readers by doing this. I am making sure I remove any other books I have in my want to read because I cannot deal with this kind of nonsense. You can't have a strong leader if she isn't genuinely trying to do anything to take care of her group. LIKE INCLUDING TELL THEM THAT SHE MET AN ALIEN AND BRINGING BACK FOOD FOR THEM? NO THEY GET TO STARVE TO DEATH IF SHE HAS HER WAY APPARENTLY.
Carlotta, you write selfish terrible stupid women. I hope one day you meet someone who inspires genuine strength for you to mold a proper female leadership role where she genuinely understands the responsibility she is in as the one trying to do things.
I am so glad I didn't pay for this. SO GLAD.
Also this isn't a tired IPB. It's just a tired book. There is nothing similar to IPB in this. There isn't any unique creativity other than you have australian girls. And they have gotten represented in other books. So who ever is comparing ... i have to ask how you even remotely compared the two as they aren't in the same realm of similarities. This is a book filed with tired, has been, used up, and beaten well after death tropes of uselessness that there is nothing original about it. But that does NOT mean it is an IPB knock off. Everything about this book and IPB are so drastically different.
There are quite QUITE a number of books out there that are far more similar so it makes me concerned that anyone comparing the two ... you need to read more than just IPB
I had loads of fun with this book! The main characters were so cute together. The FMC was someone I would love to be friends with, and the MMC was a sweet guy with a sad backstory that had me rooting for him to find love from the very beginning. Their chemistry was hot!
I loved the world-building and the setting! Though the trope with the heroine ending up on an alien planet and having to survive it with an alien's help is not new, here there were original twists when it came to the planet's environment .
Last but not least, I enjoyed the humor throughout the story. There were many moments that cracked me up.
Overall this was such a fantastic, quick read. I loved that there was a language barrier and that there was the fated mates trope with an HEA. Like, that alone will sucker me into any book! Beyond this, I love that there was a slight adventurous feel to this book that allowed the two main characters to get to know each other better. The romance was heartwarming and the spice was perfection! This book also gave me a few Ice Planet Barbarian vibes, minus the whole ice planet part. This world was straight up rain, mud and more rain. I definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a light sci-fi romance!
Deliciously fun alien romance. I have to admit I don’t usually read in this genre but the author has written other books that I loved. This one didn't disappoint. The same witty fun style of writing had me turning the pages not wanting to put it down until I finished (and got to the promised spicy scene). The two main characters were smart and playful even though they didn’t understand each other which helped pull the reader along with them.
Spicy rating of maybe 2/5. Certainly delivered the goods without adding anything too out there.
i DNFed this three times before i forced myself to finish.
it’s not that this is bad, it’s just not that interesting. it’s got the formula of a ruby dixon book — particularly the first ice planet barbarians — but lacks the cozy elements, the sweet-and-spicy romance, and the flavoring that makes alien romance books so much fun.
this was a bit bland and too slow-paced for my preferences, but might be fun for someone looking for a no-frills introduction to alien romance.

Claimed By The Alien Outlaw de Carlotta Page serie The Outlaws of Deep Space libro 1
Argumento:
This was a mess. Mains don't meet til 45%. When they do eventually meet, they trek for hours and hours through mud and rain. They find a little cave. She then tries to kiss him??? They can not communicate. They are literally covered in mud and are freezing. He, being an alien who has never met a human before, pulls away from her attempt to kiss him, because again, he's an alien who has no idea about kissing. And she doesn't even try to explain or make it fun! She just gets mad that he rejects her! So dumb! The next day he then makes a translator for her. In one day! Whatever lol she also just thought she could climb the highest mountain around in a skirt and blazer. On an alien planet and empty stomach. Just ridiculous.
Rushed feelings, rushed to no plot (she took forever to tell him about the other women that needed help?? Wtf!) and no feelings at all. Sadly there just wasn't anything good about this. I'm glad I read the other series first, otherwise I would continue this series. But maybe they get better 🤞
I got this on a stuff your kindle day a while ago, and usually those ones don't end up working for me but this one did! I will definitely be finishing the rest of the series.
– Dual pov – Virgin H/celibate h (minimal experience) – Alien H/human h – No cheating or OW/OM drama – HFN ending (couple is together forever but it was setting up the next book)
A better editor is needed. There were a few too many careless typos and grammatical errors.
A bit too insta love for me. Get stranded on an alien planet after being kidnapped and the next day kiss a random naked alien you can’t even properly communicate with?
The book doesn’t stray far from the typical stereotypes of the genre, and could really use an editing pass to get rid of misplaced homophones e.g. discreet/discrete, fairing/faring, breech/breach. There are some weird stylistic choices that seem too consistent to be typos per se but I consider them such: “pully” for “pulley,” “bulbus” for “bulbous,” “accidently” for “accidentally.” And then there’s the single quotes thing for dialogue, which I dislike.
The plot is pretty simple: FMC and four other women are abducted and crash-land on an alien planet. She heads out alone to try to make it to the top of the highest nearby mountain and scope out the area in hopes of finding civilization. MMC was on the other ship involved in the collision, goes to the surface to scavenge, and finds her on the way. His shuttle being only sized for one person, he needs to ascend the mountain to activate a beacon and make contact with his brother. The alien planet’s instant rain and dense cloud cover make the journey extremely tough. The MMC creates a magic alien translator implant out of spare parts, the two indulge in a little mountain-cave hanky-panky, the bad guys come back for one last confrontation, and everyone lived happily ever after.
The number of times I rolled my eyes at the FMC’s nonexistent survival instincts in this book… stepping out into alien atmosphere, not even checking if the rain was water or…. I dunno, acid?! Wiping herself with a leaf without checking whether it’s going to cause a skin reaction, eating random nuts she found on a tree without knowing if they’re even edible—come on, at least try to cook something first! A lot of unsafe-to-ingest earth plants are significantly less poisonous if cooked, after all.
It was kind of a plot hole that the girls on the crashed ship couldn’t find food or water on board. Realistically if the aliens are taking them and want them to not be DOA at their destination, there was going to be something edible on board, and they should’ve spent days rationing the known-safe supplies while methodically checking the safety of various plants found near the crash site. Touch the plant to your skin, wait a couple hours for a reaction. Touch the plant to your lips, wait. Ingest a tiny amount, wait 24 hours. Ingest a larger amount, wait 24 hours. Since there were five of them, this could’ve gone a lot faster with each person testing a different plant for safety. The FMC did not have to go out alone, risking trench foot and mudslides, just to get a good look around. It’s not like the MMC wasn’t going to find them if they just stuck around; he was already headed their way! The plot could have proceeded as written, but without the weirdness of FMC keeping the other women a secret from MMC, and with the bonus knowledge that FMC is smart, organized and a survivor instead of TSTL.
Cute and short single sitting read with lots of adorable alien smut and low level spice.
What I liked: Alien romance 🛸 Abducted by bad aliens and saved by a hot one 😈 Mated by accident 🤌🏼 Virgin hero Cinnamon roll hero Capable heroine Decent world building HIS TAIL 🥵🥵🥵🥵 New story for a traditional alien plot (girls get abducted, girl 1 finds alien while exploring, alien follows her around like a puppy dog and they save the day)
What I didn’t like: The hero and heroine don’t really interact until 30% of the way through. I’m an insta gratification girlie so enjoying the world building was hard 😂
Crashed on a seemingly deserted, but vibrant forest planet, a group of women band together to survive after their abduction. When another ship crashes, it’s occupant is the most adorable himbo of an alien. Jessica and Vorden get stuck together and what happens is spicy, hilarious, and makes you wish the next book was out already!
This book offers the best of tropes! 💚 Human abduction and saving 💚 Language barriers 💚 Cinnamon roll alien MMC (🍆) 💚 Strong FMC who treats herself

Wow, when I downloaded this story I wasn't sure what to expect, but I love reading about aliens so I thought I would read this story and I am so glad I did because I loved getting to know Vorden and Jessika and now I can't wait to find out what happens with the other 4 female that were abducted from earth with Jessica.
DNFd at 14%. Already a continuity error. FMC’s inner monologue is juvenile for her age. The way the crashing ship is written made it clear science was not a consideration—an interesting choice for science fiction. And I realize it’s fiction but existing science still stands. Particularly physics.
DNF at 9% This author clearly didn't do any research about Australia - freezing in January? In Sydney? It currently feels like 29°C (84°F) at 11:45pm in February!
🖤 “I will tell you how perfect you are every day, until you no longer find the truth in my words uncomfortable.” ~~~ Jessica is a kind, caring and sweet woman. And I loved her courage, not only to get out of her shell, but also to face any challenges thrown her way and to not give up in the face of danger. And she’s quite the adventurer, too. Jessica is a wonderful woman and I loved her so, so much!
And Vorden is such an incredible male! He’s strong, brave, deadly and fiercely protective. Even more, he’s very resourceful and absolutely adorable in some moments. He might be inexperienced when it comes to intimacy, but this Hunter is so irresistibly charming and so eager to learn. Vorden is amazing and I adored everything about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Jessica and Vorden! Jessica’s plan for The Lonely Women’s Friend Club takes an unexpected turn when she and the woman who showed up for the meetup are taken by aliens and then stuck on a deserted planet. And then, Jessica stumbles upon another alien ship and one very different, and very naked, alien. I loved Jessica and Vorden together! I loved every moment they spent together trekking through the rainy and muddy, and yet beautiful, planet. Even when they couldn’t understand each other and with their cultural differences, they fit so well together. And the more they got to know each other, the more the attraction to one another grew. And when they couldn’t keep their hands off each other, the passionate moments they shared were so hot! Jessica and Vorden were absolutely perfect for each other and deserved to find happiness and love together.
Overall, the story is a fun, light and wonderful start of the series! It’s filled with adventure, danger, action, surprises, humor, passion and wonderful characters.
This book was great! I was in a bit of a reading slump as I didn’t finish the last 4 or 5 books I tried (by a variety of authors). I love the alien romance genre, but it can be hard to find books that immediately grab my interest without being cheesy or having too much sexual assault/violence. This book didn’t have any sexual violence and the author’s listed triggers at the beginning were very accurate. The MMC character was especially sweet and a cinnamon roll badass.
This book is a different take on mates—the MMC’s species don’t have fated mates but finding one’s mate is much more significant than in typical human cultures. I didn’t quite understand how so much of his body could be armored, but…certain private bits, were left to…just hangout on their own, but I’m willing to let that pass since the rest of the story was just so good.
The main characters find themselves on a planet that is new to all of them and grow closer as they navigate the terrain to call for help. I liked the discussion of the MMC’s species/backstory and the main characters had really good, believable, chemistry. I try to leave spoiler-free reviews and I’m struggling with saying much more about the plot without giving it away, but let’s just say that it’s already an hour past my bedtime as I finished this book and I’m already downloading the next in the series.
Read-in-one-day alien romance? Yes please! You know I slid into this author’s DMs to get my hands on this ARC!
This hit all my favourite alien romance tropes: 💚 Humans abducted by bad aliens and then found by good ones 💚 Crash landing and surviving with nothing on an alien planet 💚 Aliens who don’t have a lot of females where they come from, don’t know what kissing is, and are smokin’ hot seven foot tall (🍆 size appropriate) virgins 💚 WHEN THE HUMAN HEROINE AND THE ALIEN HERO CAN’T UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER AT ALL—I am absolute trash for people falling in love when they can barely communicate (🤣 why am I like this?? But every little gesture, touch, and look becomes so important 🥰🥰) 💚 A heroine who isn’t going let the stress of being on a crazy planet prevent her from saying: “Yes. Yes, I should bang this hot alien.” Girl, treat yourself! 💚 Super earnest aliens getting human culture stuff hilariously wrong
So why only four stars? I just wanted more! More flirting, more banging, more fireside heart-eyes. But I’m looking forward to the next one! That sneak peek chapter had me 👀
This is a good read, and was pleasantly unexpected. For some reason going into it I thought it would be like a mean, gruff, seriously bad guy. Maybe he would be the one stealing and ultimately claiming the FMC. But this was cute and sweet. The building of their tentative trust to friendship, then turn to romance isn’t slow. But it isn’t instant either. I enjoyed reading their missteps while tromping through a strange planet. The planet itself is beautifully described and was so interesting. The things they find left me with so many questions that I look forward to having revealed throughout the series. The MMC is a cinnamon roll that appreciates how strong willed our FMC is and it’s adorable. The language barrier, though not long lived, is funny and is a facet of these types of books that I love. The writing is really well done, the characters are great, and the storyline is really good. I really look forward to the next book.
I attended the RWA Conference 2023 in Sydney last weekend and perused the Indi Table to 'broaden' my reading horizons with self-published - and to support writers. I'm a writer who aspires to be published, and have carried an old fashioned perception that self-published means it will be rubbish, or at least, not good enough for traditional publication. But you know what? It doesn't mean that for many books. It could mean that traditional publishers are already swamped with what they know they can and want to sell, and they have plenty of choice. And your book doesn't fit with what the genre they like and the market they're selling to. I picked all three books in Carlotta's 'The Outlaws of Deep Space' series. And they're good reads! The covers are great! :) And if I wouldn't typically find myself drawn to these books at a bookshop, it's only because I have many authors that I follow and their books win my attention first.
I got this book on stuff your kindle day and pleasantly surprised that it turned to be a quick fun read. Many stuff your kindle days are big disappointments but love when you find a gem. Falls between 3.5 and 4 for me. I didn’t notice any editing issues and it hit exactly what I was in the mood for, a quick, fun, alien adventure with erotic twists. While no, it’s not an original overarching plot, I still found the characters their own and liked the mix of tough yet sweet MMCs. I liked how each story in the series is leading into the next and the mystery of the planet and mountain is strung between each book. I also like how the stories seem to start slow and very detailed oriented and then mid to 3/4 through all the action drops in. I think the length was refreshing, about 200 kindle pages and it was enough to develop the story and character without being rushed but also gives the reader something they don’t have to dig too deep into when they need an escape. Worth a read.
Carlotta is new to the sci-fi/alien romance scene but she didn’t let that slow her down. This book was a great way to pass the time. I had such a hard time putting it down.
At first, I did not like Jessica. She was constantly putting herself down and it irritated me. However, that changes quickly when she ends up crash landed on an alien planet. I enjoyed watching her growth through the book.
Vorden is swoon-worthy and I loved him from the beginning. He’s big and intimidating but an absolute cinnamon roll. He went out of his way to help Jessica, even if he didn’t understand her.
I’m curious to learn more about this world and it’s secrets, it’s creatures and it’s possible inhabitants. Bring on the next book!
I love alien romances so much. The human/alien dynamic is so much fun and I love seeing what worlds and species and neat shit people have trapped up in their brain. Of course there is the typical alien abduction/rescue trope, but I mean how tf else are humans going to end up on a rando planet in the middle of space sooo… 😅
I also love when the POV is written more like actual inner monologue, it made Jessica’s so much more funny and relatable. Because like same, girl.
There was just enough adventure and plot to make it fun without being too angsty/stressful. You know how I am about angst lmao. Super excited to have a new alien world to visit again. Like I said, I will literally always read an alien romance.
It's a "stranded on a planet with an alien and we don't speak each other's language at first" book.
It's a slower burn but I found their charades entertaining.
I took off 1 star because the hero doesn't wear clothes. He wears boots and some armor but his butt and his genitals are always on display which did not make any sense to me at all.
I took off a second star because I expected more of the intimate love scenes. There are maybe 2 steamy scenes and a few making out/playing around scenes.
Imagine you just want to be social and meet some friends, only to be abducted by aliens, end up on a desolate planet, and then meet the love of your life, who's an alien with a tail.
This was a great start for a series, the characters are great and funny, and the plot wasn't original but I liked it. Overall, I liked the relationship, the alien world the author created, and the side characters.
