3.5 STARS ROUNDED TO A 4 ⭐️

This story was very sweet and was the exact depiction of what i feel like falling in love in Paris would feel like. Although it was a sweet, quick and enjoyable read it wasn’t memorable for me. I feel like it was very much monotone in the sense that nothing surprised me.

I loved the friendship between the female main character and her friends and would have liked to see more interaction between them. I felt like there was a TON of time spent on setting the scene. I also felt like the conversation between Callie and Julien should have happened so much earlier than it did and not behind closed doors.

While i do think this is a cute, it just fell a little flat for me.

Thank you Netgalley, the author and the publisher for supplying an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I feel like we got to read more about Callie and her friendship with Emilie and lila than we did about her relationship with Julien. Because the entire book happens in a couple of days I would have liked to read a little more about them. When they did get to spent time together I felt like I was learning more about Paris than about the characters.

Even with that I was still rooting for them. There was an intense connection between Julien and Callie from the moment they met. The relationship was rushed because they only had 4 days before she went back to the states but it didn't feel rushed. They were able to talk and hang out and just get closer to each other. The relationship was very sweet. Both characters just seem perfect for each other. The story flowed really well yes they did have ups and downs but they knew it was real love, and u don't let that get away.

If ur looking for a really sweet book this one is the one for you.

I received an advance review copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a charming and fun RomCom. We meet Callie who has relocated from the US to Paris to be with her long term boyfriend. Despite immediately breaking up, she decides to give Paris 6 months. 4 days before her departure, she meets Julian, her friend's brother. Their chemistry is obvious and they begin their romance.

The writing style is easy to read and flows nicely. I was engaged from start to finish and didn't want this book to end. The characters are well developed and play off one another nicely. I really liked the friendship between Callie, Emilie, and Lilia. The underlying plot of the meaning of friendship while making the most of an unexpected situation added depth to the story.

Overall, I recommend this book to anyone looking for a light hearted Rom Com with an international flare!

I adored this book! A romance that's pushed for time, hard decisions to make, exes still on the scene, possible rebound, relationships still fresh in the heart. This book has it all! I love Callie, Emilie and Lila's friendship, the way they met, the adventures of foreign exchange students. I loved this story so much! You could see where it was going but it was an enjoyable read.

The characters felt real, genuine and ones that would be good to have around. Julien and his friends too. What would you do if yoyr boyfriend dumped you on what you thought would be day one of your life together? After moving countries for him, making sacrifices and uprooting your life. Callie makes a life for herself in Paris and what a journey the decision to stay turned out to be!

This book is everything I needed and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and I'm really look forward to reading book two!

Get ready to be swept away into a beautiful story!

If you're a fan of romance, self-discovery, and the power of friendship, then 4 Days in Paris is for you! This heart-warming novel will make you laugh with and root for Callie as she embarks on her journey of self-discovery. I loved how Callie's personality shined through, especially with her fun expressions like, "Son of a biscuit." The scenic descriptions and bits of French language interspersed throughout the book made me feel like I was in Paris too!

4 Days in Paris is all you need to fall in love. That is the whole premise of this book.

Callie relocates to Paris from the United States in the summer of 1999 to be reunited with her long distance boyfriend. Six hours after getting off the plane her boyfriend has dumped her and left her alone in the city of love. Instead of running back home, Callie decides to spend six months in Paris. Teaming up with her best friend in France: Emilie, whom she met the semester she studied abroad in college, and her new best friend: Lila, another American temporarily living in Paris, Callie makes the most of a bad situation. Now it is New Years Eve and Callie has 4 days left in Paris before she is set to return home. She jokes with her best friends about finding love, but the joke is on her when she meets Emilie's handsome brother Julien, and they begin a whirlwind 4 days together.

This book started off SO STRONG for me, I was completely immersed the first 40% of the book; absolutely loving the setting in Paris, as well as the dynamic between Callie, Emilie and Lila. However, I felt that the second half of the book was very repetitive.

There was a lot of back and forth on Callie's part about continuing on with Julien. Given the timeline they were on, I tried to be understanding of how it would feel to have an instant connection with someone while knowing in 4 days an ocean would be separating you both. In that sense, Callie's back and forth made sense, however they both knew the end was coming and they never once discussed what that meant for them, which as a reader was very frustrating.

I appreciated that the author painted such an accurate and detailed picture of France, but it almost felt like a little too much time was spent on setting the scene when more time should have been focused on character interactions. The ending felt a little rushed.

This book was good, just not one of my favorites.

Callie relocates to Paris to be with her long distance boyfriend who callously dumps her after her arrival. Instead of returning back home, Callie decides to make the best of her situation. With her return looming, fate throws her a curveball in the form of Julien. DOes she stay or does she go? I fell in love with this story.

Callie is days away from leaving Paris and decides to give Paris love one more shot. The book is set around New Year’s Eve 1999 and a lot of the book is New Year’s night with all of Paris celebrating. I like Callie and would have loved the chance to live in Paris when I was her age. This is the first in a series and I’m excited to see where it will go! A fun romcom to enjoy any time of the year!

I really liked the sound of this and the cover sealed the deal. As I started reading and was thrown back to the run up to the new millennium it made me laugh remembering all the things we thought might happen as 2000 hit us.
The characters are all really well written and I could see this becoming a series focusing a different book on a different friend, if the author decided to go that way I would definitely read them!
It's cute, it's funny, it's cliche but that's my favourite kind of light hearted read!

Great story! It was a fantastic rom-com & a nice, cozy read. It was very well written, had great flow, and fantastic chemistry between the two main characters. Pacing was a bit slow at times, but a pleasant story overall

I know I am enjoying a book, when I groan, gasp, mutter under my breath, blink away tears, laugh and smile reading it.

4 Days in Paris had me do all of that! I enjoyed every bit of being transported to 1999 (so many lovely and funny flashbacks!) and to the city of love.

This story is not only about falling in love, but also friendship and finding the strength to go on, when you'd rather curl up under a rock.

Callie is a wonderfully relatable character, with a wicked sense of humour, who had me rooting for her from page one.

The story itself was really cute. I do love a good romance story sometimes but this one didn’t hit me. The romance/was instant and tropes like that don’t last long. They get boring and I couldn’t keep myself from getting bored and zoning out. I’m sorry but I just couldn’t continue with this book. I hate putting books down and not going back to finish them. It just wasn’t for me.

I received an ARC copy of this book via Netgalley and the Publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Callie's time in Paris started out rocky. She came to Paris to be with the love of her life after waiting for her to finish her degree. After a whirlwind romance, Callie decided to pack everything up to move to Paris and chase her happily ever after. That happily ever after came crashing down mere hours after landing in Paris when Vic told Callie that things weren't working out and he no longer wanted to see her. Instead of traveling back to the US with her tail tucked between her legs, Callie stayed in Paris. She had always dreamed of living in Paris and here she was. She wasn't going to let the opportunity slip from her fingers. So Callie stayed and created some amazing friendships with Lila and Emilie and began to explore the city of love.

Callie's time in Paris was drawing to a close. She begun to miss her family and friends and decided after New Year's, it was time to go home. That's when her world flipped upside down when a blue eyed boy walked into Emilie's apartment. There was an instant connection. One that neither one of them could fight. It was as if Paris wasn't ready to let Callie leave with a sour taste in her mouth of love. But was this more than a fling? Could they really last more than the four days that Callie had left in Paris? Could Julien's and Callie's hearts withstand another heartbreak? Or were they destined for something greater?

Honestly, the descriptions of Paris and the historical part of it was beautifully written. At times, it felt like I was in Paris walking down the Sienne River with Callie and her friends. The book was decently written but honestly, I could not root for any of the characters. I couldn't connect with Callie at all. She was just so whiny and I tried to put myself in her shoes but I just couldn't bring myself to like her. Same with Julien. Some of the phrases and things that he said took me from being engrossed in the story to realize that it was a story. Almost like everything he was saying was a line to feed Callie to get her in bed. It just seemed so fake. It's the stuff we always want to hear but coming out of Julien's mouth just didn't feel right.

This book's entire premise is insta-love. I didn't realize how heavy in insta-love it was or I would have not picked it up being my least favorite trope. I just find it completely unrealistic and I just do not enjoy it. Again these are all my own opinions. What may not worked for me, may be your next favorite book. Overall, I just did not enjoy this book. I can appreciate the descriptions and historical context of Haddock's description of Paris but otherwise, this book was not for me.

Blurb

Can you fall in love in four days?
Paris. New Year's Eve, 1999.

Six months ago, Callie arrived in Paris to be with the love of her life, who promptly dumped her. Determined to succeed despite this drastic change of plans, Callie creates a life for herself in Paris, supported by her two closest friends, Lila and Emilie.

Now it’s the turn of the century and she’s returning to the U.S. in four days, ready to start the new century next chapter of her life... until she meets Emilie's brother Julien on New Year’s Eve.

Sparks fly, and what Callie thought was just a fun fling with her best friend's brother quickly turns into something more. But does Julien feel the same way? And what will this do to her friendship with Emilie?

Her time in Paris could offer a second chance for true love, or, just another shattered heart to take home as a souvenir.

My thoughts 💭

I was immediately drawn to this book by its cover and upon reading the blurb I knew I had to apply for this book tour. I was delighted when I got the email to say I was part of this book tour.

This story is set in Paris and the author does a great job in making the reader feel like they are right there in Paris. I loved following the story between Callie and Julien and seeing how it all panned out. Following them through the four days and wondering what the outcome would be, all the while rooting that they would end up together. I also loved the strong relationship between Callie, Lila and Emilie and seeing how they were always there for each other.

This book really gripped me and I am eagerly waiting for the next book by this author which I believe is going to be about Lila’s story. I have recommended this book to my friends and will continue to recommend it.

Congrats @lexihaddock_author on you debut novel 👏🏻

I really wanted to like 4 Days in Paris. I liked the title and the cover. Paris is a city with a fascinating history and a special mystique. Unfortunately, 4 Days in Paris reads in one part like a high school girl's dream fantasy about study abroad and in the other part like a travelogue of tourist sites. I actually expected Callie Sparks to wake up at some point and reveal to us readers that she was dreaming.
First of all, Callie's heart is broken when she discovers that study abroad boyfriends don't wait two years for a girl to finish her degree and return so they can marry her and live happily ever after on pain au chocolat. Her French bestie Emilie who seems to only have two American girls as her besties also has a hot brother who has just ended a five year relationship to a girl he intended to marry. He shows up on New Years Eve and Callie Sparks start feeling sparks.
I could accept the story up to this point, until hot brother Julien has his hands all over Callie, kisses her repeatedly, and she seems okay with this despite knowing zero about him. In between we are told repeatedly neither one is the fling type. In basically what amounts to 48 hours they cement their connection. Callie demands Julien's undivided attention and loyalty to her in this short period of time even though there is a scene where his longtime ex-girlfriend's mother is dying. His own mother calls him and Callie is furious. There is no room in the world for anyone or anything but her if this acquaintance is to move forward to something more. For me, this was emotional abuse and made me wonder not only about Julien but his past relationship with the other girl.
So for me, this story was a hard NO on so many levels. I appreciate the opportunity to read 4 Days in Paris and thank both NetGalley and Lexi Haddock for the ARC.

4 days in Paris has to be one of the easiest books I’ve read this year. The pace and flow were effortless. And although I stopped and read over 2 days, that’s just because I had boring real-life things to do.

There is so much heart in this story. You feel it in Callie’s relationships with her best friends, Emilie & Lila. In her budding new romance with Julien, but most importantly with Paris itself.
It was beautiful to read of the author's love affair with Paris through the eyes of Callie. It’s strengthened my resolve to visit the city of love too.

As for Callie and Julien, I adore them both. The emotions they go through (being torn between the excitement of something new yet knowing it can’t last) are heartwarming but tinged with sadness. The sweet displays of affection and learning about each other it's all so adorable. I also love that it’s not a straightforward romance. As with real life, we all come with a past and many complications, which is highlighted when we learn about Julien’s past.

The epilogue was cute, but I would prefer it if it ended with the last chapter.
One thing I would have loved would have been chapters told from Julien’s perspective. It would have added an extra dimension to their narrative, but maybe that’s just me being greedy.

I loved this book. I thought I would give it a solid 4 stars, but I can’t give it any less than 5 because I know this will become my comfort read.

Thank you, Love Books Tours & Lexi, for the gift of being on the book tour and the arc.

I can’t wait to 1 - get a physical copy and 2 - read the next book featuring Lila. ♥️

A quick, easy and adorable romcom that I just couldn't put down. The book follows Callie who leaves her home in the USA to be with her long distanced boyfriend in Paris, however it doesn't all go to plan and only a few hours after getting off of the plane, said boyfriend has dumped her. She however decides not to let this deter her and she decides to stay in Paris for 6 months with two of her friends. When Callie has only 4 days left in Patid she meets Julian, her friends incredibly handsome brother who has been in a similar situation to her, and their 4 day whirlwind romance begins.
I was hooked on this book right from the beginning and I thought the pacing was good and got much better towards the end of the book which really gave the reader a sense of urgency with the whole 4 day timeline which worked well. The writing was engaging and the storyline was compelling and was a mix of cute anf fluffy, laugh out loud moments and moments that had me reaching for a tissue.
I found the friendship in this book really heartwarming and uplifting and I loved the whole sisters before misters approach to Callie and how she would leave Julian in order to spend time with Emilie and Lilia, however I am not going to lie it also frustrated me because I was like you hve had 6 months with them you have 4 days with this guy, but ultimately I appreciated the sentiment of girls first.
I was really rooting for Callie and Julian and I think this aspect of the book was done really well, however, I would have liked more in terms of development, scene setting and focus on interaction in some parts of the final part of the book as I get the 4 day whirlwind but some parts just felt a bit rushed and skimmed over. I still loved it though

Advance Readers Copy Review

I want to start off by saying that I received a paperback copy. In return for my honest thoughts and review. I am so that I signed up for this booktour. I honestly signed up because I loved the cover alone. I couldn’t put this book down. I love characters and the world the author created. I have never been to Paris. But I felt like I was there looking at the Eiffel Tower. Who hasn’t done something crazy and moved somewhere to be with someone and then when they got there dumped. Callie is such a romantic girl. What’s that love and fairy tale ending.. But who doesn’t want all that. Love Callie friends how honest they are with her. Even if they felt that they were being too harsh. I didn’t think that Callie had in her in the end of the book. Didn’t know which way the ending was going to go. Definitely can’t wait to read more books from this author.
About Book:
This book is set in the year 1999 in Paris. Callie is young American girl who thought she met the man of her dreams Vic they talked for two years. When Callie was done with school she up and moved herself. She didn’t know was that Vic was feeling the same has she was. She is left in Paris not sure what do until she meets two new friends Emilie and Lila. And they support her through this heartbreak for the next six months. Until Callie has 4 days left Paris before she has to go home. Until Emilie throws a New Year’s party and her brother shows up. Callie is blow away by him. But she knows she leaving in 4 days.
Thank you again to the author and lovebooktours for the wonderful opportunity. This book is to be released on December 6, 2022

Thank you to NetGalley and Chrysalis Press for an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I wasn’t so sure about this book when I first started reading, but it really grew on me! It’s definitely a slow burner at the start and the first few chapters feel like a lot of backstory, but the second half is very enjoyable.

The main plot is around Callie’s final four days in Paris, which coincides with New Year’s Eve 1999. As the century and millenium change, so too does Callie’s luck with love. After a painful break up just after she moved to Paris to be with boyfriend Vic, Callie has a few failed flings/relationships and eventually wonders if she’ll find love (admittedly she’s only 23, so she has time).

Enter attractive Frenchman Julien, brother of one of her closest friends in Paris. Cue falling head over heels for him (Callie has always fallen fast and hard), creating a rift between her and Julien’s sister, and also coming up against some bad history in his dating past.

The ending felt a little rushed, but it was a pleasant, easy read. For those of us too young to remember the turn of the millennium, it was fun to read about what Paris would have been like during the celebrations. I often forgot that the book was set in 1999/2000 until it comes up that mobile phones can only make calls and people have to use a physical map instead of an app. How… retro (kidding).

A solid 4 star book for me.

This was such a cute romantic comedy! It effortlessly flowed and I loved not only the romance, but the friendships that we see.

'Love, in my experience, didn't exist without pain'.

Callie's life came crashing down when she moved to Paris to be with her long distance boyfriend.. where he dumped her on the first night. Deciding whether to go back home to the US, or make a life for herself in Paris - she chooses Paris.

With only four days left until she returns home, after six months in Paris with her best friends, Lila and Emelie, she meets Julien - Emelie's brother. Emelie is worried what might happen, if Callie or Julien will get their heart broken. But they're in Paris after all, it is the city of love..

𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀
A short, sweet and adorable romance that made me smile. Firstly, we see Callie's strong friendships in her life - the girls that will always be there for her and that helped pick her back up after her break up. We then see Julien as the new love interest, and I was routing for them from the start!

'Don't break his heart, Callie. Would we be doomed from the beginning?'

The scene setting for Paris was wonderful. I've never been myself, but reading Callie's excitement about the famous landmarks made me want to go (and of course eat pain au chocolat).

Overall, this was one of those reads that give you a happy pick me up and I can't wait to read more from Lexi.

Callie moves to Paris thinking she is going to get engaged and spend her life with her boyfriend Vic, only to be dumped on arrival. Six months later she has days left in the city she loves with friends that she adores when she meets Julien. She is instantly attracted and smitten, but concerned with her limited time left in Paris that she is going to get her heart broken all over again.

Thank you to @lexihaddock_author, @chrysalisbykbp and @lovebookstours for my free copy in exchange for an honest review.

As someone who has great fond memories of Paris, and a romantic idealism, the description of this book instantly grabbed me! I loved the descriptions of Paris, and I thought setting it along the change in the millennium was both surprising and unique. It brought back memories of when I was young, and made me connect with Callie even more.

Callie is a special main character, she is optimistic, kind and friendly. She sees the best in others, but loves her people deeply. At times I found her a little repetitive and naïve, but overall really enjoyed reading about her journey. I think Julien was written to instantly grab both Callie and the reader, and hook you right into their four days together and leave you wondering what is going to happen.

For anyone looking for a great romance to read this Holiday season, especially as the New Year approaches, this is a great option for you!

A fun and tingly time-compressed “finding love” romance with a cross-cultural couple. The pace of the book kept up with the pressure of “just a few days” and the pages turned fast. It’s got characters memorable enough to imagine meeting up in a Parisian club and clicking right away.

Callie’s been jilted and is ready for new love and sure enough a delicious Frenchman is in the same boat. I wondered at the complete lack of any cross-cultural barbed wire between Americans Callie and friend Lila, and French everyone else, but I let that fade in the delight of Callie’s running descriptions of Paris, a real character in the book, personified by the Eiffel Tower that she treats sort of like a fairy godmother.

Callie’s loyalty to her girlfriends, choosing to leave her new love sometimes on his own to spend time with them, impressed me. Her vulnerable openness to passion is refreshing and her dash of daring to go for Julien had me cheering her on.

I hope this is the start of a Paris-based rom-com series with new Parisian scenes and uncommon stories where Callie, her effervescence, and her dear Eiffel Tower always play a part.

Thanks for this ARC to NetGalley and the publisher; I am giving my frank review.

If a book mentions romance and paris in the blurb, then I am sold <3

A sweet rom com book that explores how occasionally a brief romance can develop into much more.

I adored the characters in this novel, and I felt Callie, Emilie, and Lilia's friendship dynamic was wonderful—the kind of enduring friendship that everyone hopes to have. I like the typical meet-cute scene between Julien and Callie since he was kind and considerate.

The location of the book was definitely given a lot of thought, which, in my opinion, truly helped you feel as though you were too immersed in the Parisian experience.

While I was ultimately rooting for Callie and Julien to have a happy ending, I thought the process of getting there was a little hurried and anticipated there to be perhaps more drama that stood in the way of this. Their relationship was sweet, despite being tense at times. However, it is understandable why the author chose not to do this given that the story's theme is that love can blossom in just four days. In the end, I thought this was a fantastic quick romantic read and would highly suggest it.

I was so excited that this book is set in 1999/2000! What a cool setting for this story, and it works so well! I really liked the way little references were included throughout the book.

And omg, Paris! What a gorgeous city to set a love story in. There's so much information about the city in this book, written in such a clever way, it was actually super interesting.

I felt for Callie, I really did. She has had a pretty intense heartbreak at such a huge point in her life. Her journey of self discovery is great throughout the story. At times I got a little frustrated with her - I really wanted her to make strong decisions but I didn't always happen. Still, she grew a lot during the story which I appreciated.

Julien is a great match for her - it's definitely instalove, there's no slow burn in sight here! I wanted to shake him at times when he dealt with his past throughout the story - he didn't do it in the most communicative way.

This is a nice, easy to read love story that you'll enjoy reading. Especially for those that love Paris.

Thanks to Love Book Tours and Lexi Haddock for this book to review.

A fast paced novel about how sometimes a whirlwind romance can turn into something much more.

I loved the characters of this book, I thought the friendship dynamic between Callie, Emilie and Lilia was great, the kind of lifelong friendships everyone aspires to have. Julien was sweet and considerate, and I really enjoyed the classic meet cute moment between him and Callie.

A great deal of effort was clearly put into the details of the setting of the novel, which I think really helped you to feel as though you were too immersed in the Parisian experience,

The relationship between Callie and Julien was sweet, however tense at moments, and while I was ultimately rooting for them to get their happy ending, I felt that getting to that point was a little rushed and I expected there to be perhaps more drama that stood in the way of this. However, as the point of the story is that is possible to fall in love in four days, it is understandable why the author chose not to do this. Ultimately this I thought this was a great quick romance read, and would definitely recommend.

Callie has been enjoying her 6 months in Paris and with NYE 1999 finally here, she had one last big night out with her friends Lila and Emilie. She was thinking that a NYE fling could happen with someone she met, but she never expected to meet Julien. With only 4 days left though in such a magical city, is it worth it to jump into something with Julien or can she hold back and leave everything in Paris when she leaves.

This was such a light hearted romance. I absolutely loved the setting in Paris. The author did a wonderful job making the Eiffel Tower it’s own character and wove it in throughout the entire plot. This wasn’t just a cute romance though as it also really focused on the friendship between Callie, Lila and Emilie. Their focus on their relationship was such an important part. I also loved that this was set on NYE in 1999. Who remembers how they celebrated bringing in the Y2K era?

Thank you @chrysalispress, @lovebooktour and @lexihaddock_authro for my gifted copy of 4 Days in Paris and my spot on this tour!

This was a first time read for me by this author. It was a beautiful, love at first sight story, and great for a cozy holiday read. The author did a really nice job of setting the stage and taking the reader to Paris and seeing the city through Callie's eyes. The story was fast-paced and kept my attention all the way through. It show-cased a mix of romance, new beginnings, and strong female friendships. Callie had come to Paris to be with her love, but is now nursing a broken heart. She has created a life for herself there with her friends, but is now ready to return home in just a few short days. But then she meets Julien, and things don't seem so cut and dry anymore.
This was a beautiful story about love and heartbreak and also about letting yourself heal and feel what you need to feel, before moving on. The story was entertaining and fun and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. I would definitely like to read more books by this author.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

This story was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Having visited Paris before and being in awe of the eiffle tower too, I could definitely feel the passion and emotion coming from the pages. Most of all in this book, I LOVE the friendship, or more so the sisterhood Callie has with the other two girls in the story. Although this is a romance and Callie does find love, the story isn't predominantly focused on that more more about the bond with her found family and figuring out that going forward and head on into the unknown is not always bad, albeit scary. I love that if you read until the very end you will also find out that this book is based on Lexis own life and experiences of Paris which honestly makes me feel like its not a story- but like I'm reading someone's personal diary instead. A beautiful, heartfelt holiday romance novel that you won't want to put down. 4.5/5 star 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟. 5/🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
