My Review:
This was a fun and lively tale that keep a smirk on my face throughout the majority of perusal, despite the inclusion of one of my least favorite tropes. I’m more than a bit rueful to leave this family behind as this volume completes the Monroe family saga, with the sweetest and kindest brother saved for the finale, and ooh la la, Ms. Everly ended the series with a bang as Barrett Monroe was nothing less than a delectable treat. The storylines were entertaining and engaging while laced together with clever wit, snarky humor, authentic and well-textured characters, and sensual scenes hot enough to melt my Kindle.

Architecture and Artistry by Nora Everly is the 11th standalone in the multi author Green Valley Library series. A contemporary romance that gives two single parents a second chance at happily ever after.
Sadie and Barrett's lives are very much entwined already. He's her sisters brother-in-law, they are co-workers and most recently next door neighbors. Barrett's wife divorced him leaving him a single parent to a now 18-year-old. Sadie's husband ran off a few years ago, leaving her a single parents to two young boys. Sadie is very much attracted to Barrett but knows it will never work, so she covers it up with bickering with him every chance she gets. When they finally do give in to their mutual attraction, there is more to consider than just their hearts. With a difficult ex, family drama, and a daughter who needs support, Sadie takes it upon herself to end what they've started in secret before anyone get hurts. But Barrett won't let her walk away easily.
I have loved Nora Everly's additions to this series, but unfortunately Architecture and Artistry was a bit of a flop for me. There were aspects I enjoyed. The cameos of my favorite Monroe brothers, Sadie's two adorable and energetic boys, and the tight-knit family aspect. However, there was just way too much drama surrounding Sadie and Barrett's entire situation that my connection to them as a couple got lots in the chaos. There's Sadie's cheating no good ex plus his evil mistress, Sadie's rocky relationship with her mother, Barrett's ex wife, , the daughters personal drama with her hometown ex and current love life, and then lets throw in Sadie's sisters love life in there too. It was just way too much. Sadie and Barrett's relationship has a weird pacing to it in my opinion, and the open door intimate scenes contained cheesy dialogue.
Overall I think Architecture and Artistry might really work for some readers, just not for me.

I absolutely love the genre of opposites attract and this is the case with Sadie and Barrett.
Barrett Monroe has everything he needs and wants. It seems like finally it has all fallen into place for him. His nasty ex-wife is in the rearview mirror, he has his daughter back under his roof, he has a job the loves working with family and his secret high school crush just moved in next door.
Sadie is a bit disheveled. She is back in her hometown with two rambunctious twin boys, she can finally call her deadbeat husband her ex and she may have a bit of a crazy mother. What she can say is things are finally looking up. She is living with her sister; she has a fabulous design job, and she may be living next door and working with the handsome Barrett Monroe. As Sadie's life becomes crazy when her ex rolls back into town Barrett becomes the calm for each of her storms. As she spirals out of control, he finds a way to center her. They soon realize that even though they are different they fit but can Sadie see this for the long haul!!??
Sadie and Barret are sweet, sassy, sexy and may just be the missing piece they each didn't know they needed in one another.

This wasn't my favorite of the series and I'm not really sure why it got included as a Green Valley Library book since there were no library workers in it?? Go figure.
Anyways, I liked that it was two middle aged MCs with children. Sadie is going through a divorce from her cheating ex and her next door neighbor, co-worker and single Dad Barrett is trying to get her to give them a chance.
There was a lot of focus on toxic relationships, teen pregnancy, divorce and the romance just didn't seem to be the focus of the story for me. I would have liked more romance personally. What there was got steamy though.

I loved this visit to Green Valley and hate to say good bye to these amazing characters. This story is so many good things… single parents, amazing kids, the BEST supporting characters, swoon, humor, and a touch of angst!

I am a huge fan of books where the family dynamic ~ whether by blood or choice or both ~ is strong and everyone brings something to the table without overshadowing the main couple and their journey and this baby hit all the right buttons for me as I tagged along on Sadie and Barrett’s journey to their HEA.
I adored Sadie and Barrett. They love their family and will do anything for them and while their upbringing may have not been the same, they’ve gone through some similar situations that have them being a lot more alike than they think. Their journey to their HEA was a fun one all around. I loved that once they admitted to their attraction, they just went with it ~ even with all the obstacles in their way, and there were some pretty interesting obstacles for them to work around. But of the many bumps in their road, there is one that was pretty intense but I really like how everything worked out for them in the end.
Crazy family goodness. That’s what this book is filled with on all fronts, even the crazy ex’s. But it was great catching up with the Monroe and Hill clan and just seeing how everyone is doing and what’s on the horizons for them all and am crossing my toes that this isn’t the last time we hear from them.

I loved Architecture & Artistry, I could not put it down! I adore each Monroe brother for various reasons, and I think Barrett has topped the list! Barrett is a drool-worthy, buttoned-up, dirty talking, single dad book boyfriend. Sadie is the oldest of the badass Hill sisters and she is grace, brains, and fierce mama bear all wrapped up in a gorgeous hot mess! Love wasn't kind to Sadie or Barrett in their first marriages, but with a nudge from fate and some loving meddlers, they just might get their HEA. We can talk in circles all day about who the best Monroe brother is. But Nora certainly saved the most deliciously seductive and dirty-mouthed Monroe for last! The tension was building between Sadie and Barrett for years. Their chemistry is hot AF. I love the big family Monroe shenanigans. Sadie’s twins were heart-meltingly cute! Nora has a magical way with small-town, heartwarming, steamy romance and this story is extra spicy! If you love blended family romance with a sexy, pining, dynamic hero and kind, open-hearted heroine with a sassy side, Architecture and Artistry is your next read!

Barrett and Sadie have a SCORCHING HOT forbidden romance. Is it truly forbidden when they are both enthusiastically consenting adults? Maybe not, but I did like the secretive aspect of it. All parents should relate to that aspect quite well.
The Monroe brothers are always fun to read about, especially with their meddling mother. The Hill sisters are also scene stealers, and in true fashion, Sadie’s boys are equally so.
I know the drama involved in the plot was necessary, and while it was dramatic (see what I did there?) I did like how Nora always uses her sensible mom-brain to help everyone along to their HEA. My heart was happy, and the ravenous bookworm in me is ready to commit myself to Barrett if Sadie is willing to share. Just sayin.
Architecture and Artistry is unputdownable and yet another fun addition to the already wonderful Green Valley Public Library series.

I'm sad to see the Monroe Brothers go but Nora definitely saved the best for last, I loved them together. Far steadier than the previous books and also exceptionally sweet, Sadie and Barrett were great counterpoints to each other. I'm hoping Nora writes about Sadie's sons in the future they were both adorable

Such a SWOONY story!! The Monroe brothers are the best! What can one expect with parents like Becky Lee and Bill.
Barrett Monroe is perfect and put together. The exact opposite of how Sadie Hill sees herself. She is a newly single mom attempting to raise a pair of very precocious eight year old twin boys and constantly feeling off balance.
“You’re a strong woman, Sadie. But you don’t have to be strong all the time. Not right now, not with me.”
Sadie has had a crush on Barrett as long as she can remember. It’s probably not a very good idea to pursue that for a whole bunch of complicated reasons. But whenever they are near each other sparks fly and the chemistry is off the charts and neither of them are strong enough to resist.
“Hold on to me.”
“I am.” I let out a soft laugh and squeezed him tighter. “That’s it?”
“Yeah. We don’t let each other get away, Sadie. If we hold on, this will never end.”
“Okay, Barrett. I won’t let go.”

Une romance toute mignonne qui m'a ravie du début à la fin !
J'avais adoré les précédents tomes avec les frères Monroe et Barrett n'a pas fait exception ! J'ai beaucoup aimé le voir interagir avec Sadie, la façon dont il arrive à être à la fois maladroit et mignon mais aussi sexy et alpha =D Et bien sûr, Sadie m'a bien fait rire !
Les dramas m'ont tenu en haleine jusqu'à la fin (même si j'aurais tué la fille de Barrett pour tous les malentendus qu'elle a créé ><) et j'ai beaucoup aimé la fin (même si un peu trop bisounours concernant la mère de Sadie notamment ...)
Bref, une romance mignonne et sexy parfaite pour se distraire !

I had loved the previous books with the Monroe brothers and Barrett was no exception ! I really enjoyed watching him interact with Sadie, the way he manages to be both goofy and cute but also sexy and alpha =D And of course, Sadie made me laugh a lot !
The dramas kept me hooked until the end (although I would have killed Barrett's daughter for all the misunderstandings she created ><) and I enjoyed the end (even if a little too carebears concerning Sadie's mother in particular ...)
In short, a cute and sexy romance!

I had loved the previous books with the Monroe brothers and Barrett was no exception ! I really enjoyed watching him interact with Sadie, the way he manages to be both goofy and cute but also sexy and alpha =D And of course, Sadie made me laugh a lot !
The dramas kept me hooked until the end (although I would have killed Barrett's daughter for all the misunderstandings she created ><) and I enjoyed the end (even if a little too carebears concerning Sadie's mother in particular ...)
In short, a cute and sexy romance!

I really enjoy the Green Valley Library series and the characters that Everly has created. They're interesting and approach their dilemmas in ways that are believable. Until this book.
The only action any character in this book takes that is actually responsible and positive is when Sadie and her sons have therapy to deal with their issues surrounding their abandonment by her husband and that she recommends their therapist to other characters who are having problems with difficult issues.
My reasons for disliking this book center around the fact that the responsible decision for Lizzy to have made with regard to her future would have been to terminate her unwanted pregnancy. I realize that this is not a view that many readers will agree with. Nevertheless, I think it is critical for families in this kind of novel to be shown to give women who make that difficult choice the same kind of non-judgmental support that they give the women who decide to carry on with their pregnancy. Everly wrote a scenario that would have provided this opportunity and instead took the easy way out. And that was disappointing.

I’ve loved all of these books by Nora Everly, and this one fit in perfectly! The fact that it was two single parents matching up made for a lot of the two of them having an actual extra issue/person to be thinking about when it came to their relationship. One thing I really loved was all the family and friends we knew from the other books in the series. I love the Monroe brothers so much! And I think there might be another story that could possibly come around with one of their cousins and Sadie’s sister.
The history between the two characters was nice to follow and see how things could have changed. But I love that Sadie said she wouldn’t change a thing, even all the terrible things, because of what she had now, her sons, which I loved their names – Flynn and Rider! And oh gosh they were the cutest little buggers! I feel like once again an author has made the ex not as bad of a guy as possible. At least for Sadie’s ex. I like that he was still a good father, redeemable a little, even if he hadn’t been right for her or treated her like she should have been. Sad to say that it doesn’t sound like Barrett’s ex has any such redeemable qualities as a mother for the most part she seemed to be pretty selfish.

I truly adore Nora Everly - she is a super sweet human all around, and an absolutely incredible author. I’m always totally excited when a new release is coming - especially when it’s one of her Smartypants Green Valley Public Library ones! This series is awesome and her Monroe Brothers are just my absolute favourites! Each brother’s book got better, and I have to say it - Barrett is my number one of the brothers - plus Sadie is truly such a special gal. I thought it each time before but with this being the last book in the series, he’s got the win (though now I’m going to read the Barrett Brothers… the relatives on his mom’s side who he’s named for! There could be more competition).
There is so much to love about all of the Monroe Brothers books, but this one now absolutely holds my top spot. The love and tenderness that Barrett and Sadie had for each other and their children was beautiful. Sadie and Barrett seem so different. Sadie’s life is chaos; always in a rush, loud, messy. Barrett is perfect. He’s always perfectly put together and perfectly calm and perfectly kind. But these two together are explosive, sexy, funny, and interesting. I loved every moment of this story.

I’m torn with two feelings over this book.
1. Pure joy. I have loved the Monroe family and seeing Barrett finally getting his HEA was just the best.
2. Sadness that there won’t be anymore of the Monroe family!
I loved this whole book. Getting to see the rest of the Monroe family and how happy they are was the best, but not as good as watching Sadie & Barrett fall for each other.
I loved every moment with these two. Barrett had me giggling each time he put his foot in his mouth.
I loved watching Sadie fully embrace the amazing life she created for herself & her boys. She has such a big heart and she shared it with everyone in her life.
I loved this book so much. I can’t wait to read it again and again.

Oh Nora, these Monroe brothers are trouble - hot, delicious, kind and swoony trouble. I call dibs on Barrett..hot dang!
Single mom Sadie is doing her best to raise her twin boys, trying to get her soon to be ex to take accountability while hiding her secret crush/desires for her next door neighbor - Barrett.
Barrett has a daughter that recently moved back to town and she is going through some struggles - he’s trying to be a good dad but just doesn’t know what to do. He is also swooning over his next door neighbor - Sadie.
This is a fantastic secret relationship (well they think it’s a secret) that is filled with banter, laughs and smexy time. Sadie and Barrett just fit together - they have similar previous marriage experiences, they both love working on houses and they are both amazing parents.
Rider and Flynn - Sadie’s boys will steal your heart. Especially Flynn, he has such a tender and sweet heart. Rider has more energy than he knows what to do with.
The family that surrounds these two is amazing, loving and encouraging. They are all great listeners and advise givers. :) An amazing book and addition to this series.

Architecture and Artistry is Nora Everly’s newest romance, book #11 in the Green Valley Library series, Green Valley Chronicles, Penny Reid Book Universe. I strongly recommend that you read the earlier books in her series so that you aren’t confused by all of the side characters: Crime & Periodicals (book #2), Carpentry & Cocktails (book #5) and Hotshot & Hospitality (book #8).
Sadie Hill, the 33-year-old heroine, has a lot going on in her life, between a new job as a decorator, 7-year-old twin sons, a deadbeat estranged husband, and a negative-nelly mother. Her life is chaos, and she is doing her best to get her life back on track with support from her three sisters and best friend (see earlier books in series). She moved in with a sister and discovers that her high school crush and handsome-as-sin co-worker lives next door.
36-year-old architect Barrett Monroe seems like the perfect man. He is finally over his failed marriage, his 18-year-old daughter is back home where she belongs, and he loves his job working for his family’s building firm. His control-freak ways have paid off and he can finally relax into his perfectly scheduled life. The last thing he needs is an irresistible single mom and her adorable kids to move in next door. Sadie was hard enough to stay away from when she was just his co-worker.
Sadie and Barrett are thrown together by well-meaning family and friends, although they are both fighting their attraction for each other. I was provided an ARC of this book via the author and Smartypants Romance, all opinions are my own.
As with all of the Smartypants offerings this is can be read as a standalone, however there are many mentions to either the Hill Sisters or the Monroe Brothers that will make more sense once you read them. I don't think you need to read them in any particular order for this book to make sense, but if you were interested in the other couples and their stories I highly recommend checking out Nora Everly's backlist in this universe.
This follows Sadie, who has recently separated from her husband with her twin boys. She does not have a good relationship with her mother, but she has a great support system in her sisters. Sadie is a talented interior designer and she is doing her best to get her life back together and get back on her feet. She works for a local contracting firm owned by a wonderful family, what's the problem you ask? Barrett is the company's architect and a member of that wonderful family. He is also Sadie's neighbor and current crush. Barrett is divorced and has a teenage daughter, so he understands some of what Sadie is going through as a single and separated parent. He also happens to be extremely attracted to Sadie. Both of them are determined to fight their attraction but his mother and Sadie's younger sister are determined to meddle and matchmake.
I loved Sadie and Barrett together. They both put their kids first and the both had a great support network in their families. Sadie is determined to do things herself and doesn't like to ask for help, where Barrett is a fixer which made their banter interesting in the beginning but as they softened around each other they were able to compliment each other instead of oppose each other. I thought they had great chemistry. This has some pretty steamy parts, that border on naughty so if you enjoy that the heat level is fairly decent on this one. I would say there is a low level of angst in this but there are some high tension moments throughout. Sadie has some issues to deal with concerning her ex and her mother, and Barrett's daughter is dealing with something and he's not sure how to help her. These eventually lead to Sadie and Barrett having some relationship drama. Overall I think this was a great opposites attract, single parent romance that will really pull on your heartstrings.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story!

Barrett Monroe fancies the pants off Sadie Hill, the walking-talking Barbie who's moved in next door with her sister. He's known Sadie since high school, but they were both involved with other people and life took them in separate directions. When Sadie came back to Green Valley with her twin boys, she eventually moved in with her sister and also took at job at the Monroe family business. Now, not only has to deal with Barrett at work, but also at home. He made an impression on her as a teenager, but nowadays, he seems to put his foot in his mouth every time they interact. I thought Barrett was adorable! He was the perfect gentleman and loved to fix problems and take care of other people. His attraction to Sadie was sweet - his awkwardness with her was cute, but who knew he was such a hot stud in the bedroom! Sadie was a hot mess! Between her exuberant sons, her cheating ex, and her difficult mother, her plate was already full. Barrett brought her happiness, but also complications. I loved the way they interacted with each other. They were so hot together and also incredibly tender. This story was a little bit emotional, but also had lots of humour, and some sweet, heart-melting moments. I enjoyed the small town backdrop and the loving but meddling families! Absolutely loved it!

This was about Sadie and Barrett. Sadie is in the midst of a divorce from a deadbeat husband. She returns to her hometown of Green Valley, Tennessee. Sadie ends up in close proximity to her high school crush and brother-in-law, Barrett.
I really enjoyed this. Barrett is exactly what you'd expect him to be from his appearances in previous books. He is a little bit of a control freak and his main priority is his family. It was really sweet to see him add Sadie and her boys into his circle of care.
The development of their relationship was so lovely. It was a bit of an enemies to friends to lovers story. So if you like any of those tropes, then you'll enjoy this! There was one misunderstanding in the book. But given the scope of what was taking place, it made sense and seemed appropriate to the story.
My absolutely favourite part of the book actually had nothing to do with Barrett. Sadie has a tumultuous relationship with her mother, and the changes that occurred in this book was one of my favourite parts of the story!
Anyway, I really liked this and I'd recommend it.

What a fun story Architecture and Artistry was! First off if you haven't read the previous stories of the Monroe brothers all I can say is that you're missing out on some of the greatest fictional men ever! Barrett Monroe is the oldest of the siblings. He's an A type personality and his new neighbor and co-worker Sadie Hill is giving this man quite the shake up to his buttoned up life. Sadie is one of Green Valley's infamous Hill sisters. She had a tough childhood, a disappointing marriage but she is coming out on top. She's a great designer and loves her job with the Monroe family. Her 2nd grade twin sons are a handful but they're also the greatest joys in her life. Her sisters are the best support system around. Too bad that she's living next door to her high school crush and can't do anything about it without risking her job and family dynamic if things don't work out. Well Green Valley is the type of town where the impossible always becomes possible so Barrett and Sadie don't stand a chance against the forces of nature that are the Monroe and Hill families interfering in their lives. Theirs is a really good second chance romance because they both had awful first chances at love. It was told from dual POV and was funny, sweet and had plenty of heat!

I love being back in Green Valley, Tennessee with some of my favourite fictional families! We’ve met the Monroes and the Hills throughout this series and I’ve been waiting for Barrett and Sadie to find love and it’s extra special, as it’s with each other!
Barrett is an architect with his family’s construction firm. A planner, organised and a single dad to his young adult daughter Lizzy, Barrett is one to always think of others and try to fix any given situation. Sadie Hill is newly separated, works in design and is a single mom to her twin boys Flynn and Rider (which I absolutely love their names! And the boys too, they are so fun!)
Neighbours and co-workers these two have the chemistry, mutual pining and with the help of meddling family members, they have sneaky moments together to really get to know one another!
Sadie really grew as within herself throughout this book. She’s been through a lot in her life and it all plays a part in who she is today. I love that she is strong and family always comes first!
Family dramas, oh my! What would a romance be without some drama, yet it all flows nicely within the storyline and certainly keeps you turning the pages!

Nora Everly returns to the Green Valley with the Monroe Brothers continuation. I'm sad to hear this is the last of Monroe's but she saved the best for last.
We get both single parent main characters in Sadie and Barrett. I like that their story involved family. Whether it's biological or acquired, blended or not. I like how they are part of this story till we get the happy ending.
I really enjoyed Sadie and Barrett. I've always enjoyed the Monroe family and the brothers plus the meddling mother a staple in these books. The Hills are an definitely something else but they get their share of attention. Sadie and Barrett have tons of history and the tension between them keeps growing. They might bicker and all but that's part of their chemistry. When they give in they go all out. They have hurdles to face of course and it's not gonna be easy. But they love their family so they'll do what it takes. Barrett maybe my favorite Monroe so far with his drool worthyness.
Sadie's twins are a handful but they are too cute! I hope we still get more Monroe shenanigans in some way. I adored this blended family and small town feel that's part of Green Valley. It was heart warming, with a good dose of steam and we'll rounded characters. I liked Sadie she's a tough one and stood up for herself.

I loved this book so much. It was so hard to put down and I got frustrated when life got in the way of my reading. Sadie and Barrett are going to make you fall in love. This book had me at single parent romance. This book had so much heart and feels. There were parts that had the tears forming. Barrett is prime book boyfriend material. He is just a big swoon fest. I wish I could find my own Barrett. The Monroe family is a hoot. Then when the Hill sisters get together good times to be had. Along with the heart and heat because trust my these two burn up the pages there is plenty of humor. I found myself laughing quite often while reading this book. I can't recommend this one enough. I would say start it when you have time to sit and read because you will not want to stop and put this book down. A must read!
