Three men, two choices, and one secret …

A year ago, my best friend received an exclusive invitation to join an elite brotherhood at Kingston University. He went into Hawthorne Hall for his initiation … but never came out.

I intend to find out why.

The brotherhood would never knowingly invite a female into their ranks. So what if I forged my father’s signature on the recommendation? With a name like Elliot Ashford, they’ll never see me coming.

I’ll endure whatever hell these brutal brothers put me through because I have no intention of backing down or bowing out gracefully. It won’t be pretty. I’ve heard the rumors, especially about the three men in control of the brotherhood.

Kingston.
Cannon.
Archer.

I'm going in with one mission—find out what happened to Will. But the moment I set foot in this house, I have a feeling all my plans will go up in flames.

Welcome to Hawthorne Hall! Let the games begin …

***********************************************************************************

Kingston is a 94,000+ word novel, the first in a trilogy, centering around three men and one woman. It's kind of like a sandwich—a quadruple decker with extra spice. There is a possibility that sandwich toppings will touch, if that makes sense.

WARNING: This trilogy contains dark elements, graphic content, and situations that some readers may be particularly sensitive to. If you have triggers or are even remotely unsure, please check my website, which you can access through my author page, for a full list.

This felt like the “what I ordered vs what I got” meme, only what you ordered was the Royals of Forsyth University series, and what you got was this instead.

I’m used to having to suspend my disbelief in order to enjoy a book. But there has to be some semblance of a plot and basic reasoning behind it at least.

In this case, I knew I had to "ignore" some things when the premise of the story was our girl, Elliot, faking her admission paperwork in order to get into an only boys brotherhood on campus. Why, you may wonder? Because that was where her best friend and cousin, Will, was last seen before disappearing.

Alright, I can work with that. It even sounded interesting.

But then, they started to act dumb....

For example, our three guys are in charge of the brotherhood, and they know it’s against the rules for a woman to join the sacred brotherhood (🙄) but oh gosh… there’s nothing they can do… she already signed the paperwork… oh noooo…

The insta-lust/insta-obsession is insane, too. This book happens in the span of 2 weeks and the first night, they were already spanking her. The pace was all over the place, this could’ve been so much better if it was a slow burn and they went from strangers to lovers based on getting to know each other better, instead of this insta connection they felt for her for no reason.

There was this really fucked up moment, when they forbad her from coming after spanking her, but she did it anyway. So they showed the vid of her getting off in her room to the whole brotherhood, because she had broken the rules. Of course our girl Elliot was upset about it… but I guess not upset enough because 2 minutes later, she was hate-fucking one of them in the bathroom…

And on top of that, the most stupid plot device was used to explain why she would even masturbate in her room if she knew there were cameras installed to control what every initiate was up to in their room: She knew… but she had forgotten, y’all!!

So silly! She’s just a girl, I guess!

I’m giving this 3 stars instead of 2 because Kingston as a character was interesting and their chemistry was crazy. The other two guys… I didn’t care that much. But Kingston could hate-fuck me in a bathroom any day of the week.

I’m tempted to keep reading, to see if it gets better.

4.5 ⭐️ Steam: 3.5/5. Strong Language: 4/5. Characters: 5/5. Plot: 4.5/5

Triggers: self ha£m (off page), su!c!dal ideation (off page), loss of loved one, bu!!ying, a$$ault, v!olence

Brotherhood: the quality or state of brothers; an association, fellowship, or alliance.

Elliot is arriving at Hawthorne Hall, Kingston University for initiation. She has everything she needs to succeed: letter of invitation, brains, legacy, and plenty of moxie. What she doesn’t have is the gender required for admittance to the Brotherhood of Hawthorne Hall, the most elite and prestigious group at the university. She’s there to solve a mystery and she’s not about to let a little thing like her sex get in her way. All she has to do, is brazen her way through the nightmare of a house full of college guys who are anything but glad to see to her and the initiation games that await. No problem, right?!

Kingston, so named after the University, is the epitome of a Big Man On Campus. His word is law both in the house and on campus. As a senior and leader of Hawthorne, it’s his job to oversee the initiates. The one thing he did not need screwing up his already complicated life was a female conniving her way into his boy’s club. Especially, one who looks like Elle. He’s not going to let his feelings get in the way of doing his job or a hundred years of tradition. She’s got to go and he’s just the one to break her.

Cannon is the strong, extremely silent type. The kinesiology major would rather express himself with his body than his voice. He has the protective instincts of a lion and is immediately drawn to Elliot. Once he decides she’s his, nothing and no one will deter him, including his brothers and her.

Archer is the brains to Cannon’s brawn. He’s an accelerated senior with genius level computer smarts. This snarky charmer is capable of disarming any situation but equally effective at instigating trouble. He gets extreme pleasure watching the drama unfold. The one thing bringing him joy right now, the Elliot show.

While Elliot and the guys battle it out for dominance in the house and their burgeoning relationships, something sinister stalks our girl. Danger lurks from both outside and inside the University, threats begin to mount, and secrets are both hidden and revealed. Can the foursome come together before tragedy strikes?

This book was a great read. The characters were dynamic, complex, and leapt off the page. The story pulls you in immediately. Our plucky heroine, Elliot, is the kind of girl that you can’t help rooting for. You want her to succeed in her quest. The guys, Kingston, Cannon, and Archer, aren’t just typical college/school bu!!ies. They are very rich characters. Each one has an immersive backstory. You feel for them. You yearn for them. Let’s face it, you fall for them. I am so anxious for book two. These guys have me wrapped around their finger.

Epic Story, Intense & Sinful scenes of love, passion, desire, & need. These characters are going to make you weak in the knees and tug at your heart as well as make you frustrated by all the secrets, lies, betrayals, & unspoken desires that radiate off every page!

This book is going to knock you out with the raw emotional journey of Elliot and her attempts to find the truth about her missing cousin/best friend. She knows something happen at Hawthorne House and the only way she can obtain the information she need is to infiltrate the Brotherhood at Kingston University. However, she is a woman who would never be invited into the Brotherhood but she works the angle of having a male name and forging her father’s signature and she’s in!

The Brotherhood has been a long standing tradition and it’s a commitment you make for life and Elliot is banking on that information for when she arrives and the brothers are taking back that she is a woman. Kingston the leader of the Brotherhood has to decide what to do when she arrives. He advises with his 2 best friends and fellow senior classmates Archer & Cannon. They finally give in and allow her to stay but she will be under their thumb and rule for her initiation.

Kingston has secrets and a dark past that makes him a bit weary of Elliot and the fact that she pulls something deep within him both emotionally and sexually doesn’t help the fact she is now living with them 24/7. He can’t figure out this need for her but when they do give in to each other the passion and sexiness is off the charts.

Cannon doesn’t speak much (more like hardly ever) but the moment he sees Elliot walk into their house he knows she will be his and he will stop at nothing to keep her safe and protected. However, Cannon isn’t the only one who wants her and he’s not sure how or what his 2 best friends have in mind for their new obsession.

Archer is a genius and a bit of a voyeur so when they claim Elliot as their initiate he knows that this is going to be whole new territory for him and the Brotherhood. However, Kingston is their leader and the men know better than to question him but something is happening between the 4 of them and the entire game plan is changing.

The more time they spend with her and the more they grow to need and want her everything seems to be falling apart within their house. Secrets are still being kept and people aren’t who they appear to be. This story has a lot of twists and turns.

Since this Book 1 we are left with a cliffhanger that may destroy you and the need for the next book is going to overpowering. However, the ride to get there is filled with very hot scenes of these men and Elliot who they have become entwined with and can’t/won’t be letting her go anytime soon. You will not be disappointed and this ride is worth every bump in the road. Happy Reading!!

First things first let me tell you I haven’t been this hooked on a series in a long time! I went into this not knowing what to expect but I can tell you for sure my mind was blown away!

Now let’s get to the best part… the men of this series!

Kingston reminds me of a mix of Saint & Kyan from KoQ, tbh I didn’t like him most of the book, it was a very big love/hate relationship 😂 he definitely grew on me once I understood him more 🥰

I will admit I do have a favorite ❤️ Cannon can have all of my heart and more, I would happily remain silent forever just to have this man at my side, strong and caring, I wish we got more from this first book about Cannons story but I sense his story is coming in book two! He definitely gives me a bit of Diesel from DoV vibes just smarter, cannot wait for his story ♥️

Archer… *long exhale* Archer, this man gives me smart boy-next-door vibes with a dash of Garrett from EOM. I saw him as the friend of the group… that is until I saw him as the “friend” 😉

Warning THIS BOOK ENDS IN ON A CLIFF BUTTTTTTT That cliff wasn’t too bad considering I’ve had worse & the next books release date isn’t horribly far out! but man am I amped for the next book already!

Go read this book, I devoured it and couldn’t put it down!!!

3.5 stars. Review for the whole trilogy. This is a solid college RH that has a mystery plot, good steam, MM in it (between Kingston and Archer) and decent characters. The reason I gave it under 4 stars is that it doesn’t have that “it” factor that makes me love a series. But it’s enjoyable and not bad.

The plot: Elliott, the heroine, conveniently has a name that makes it sound like she’s a guy on paper. That enables her to fake her way into pledging an all-male secret society / frat type of organization at her college. She’s joining it so that she can find out what happened to her friend, who pledged it last year and went missing. (This isn't a story where she's disguised as a guy. She shows up as herself, and the guys are angry to realize they accidentally invited a girl to pledge, but it's too late to kick her out). The heroes are the 3 seniors who are in charge. Archer is a bisexual snarky tech guy, Cannon is a huge hulking possessive guy who is mostly mute, and Kingston is your typical alpha leader, but he’s got some hidden depth (and is also bi).

I wouldn’t call this a bully story, really, even though it calls itself that. They do some shit to her, but the context is because they’re hazing her for this frat-type organization. They’re not randomly targeting her for no reason (like in some other bully reads). There is one thing they do where I wish they groveled and apologized more - But because they weren’t bullying her for no reason, the lack of grovel didn’t ruin the whole thing for me. Although I could always use more grovel, its absence in this story mostly works.

The mystery element of the plot was the weakest, and that’s another reason this was under 4 stars. There were only like, 3 pieces of information for Elliot to track down, it wasn’t a very complex mystery. So Elliott was doing her “investigating” at a snail’s pace, and was spending more time banging the guys than sleuthing. (I mean, I know that's kind of the point...but still, the 2 elements of "bang the guys" and "solve the mystery" could have been more balanced! I can never emphasize enough how the Saving Setora RH series balances great steam WITH a great plot!) The story itself flowed well and didn't feel too slow. The pacing was fine. It just felt like there wasn’t progress on the main mystery until the very end.

All in all, this is good for if you’re in the mood for a story that plays with dark college RH bully tropes, but is on the "light" end of the spectrum for that stuff. I probably won’t re-read it or think about it much after finishing. But I enjoyed it enough, I'll stick around and read the spinoff trilogy.

Please read TW/CW because this book isn't for everyone and contains darker themes. So if it's not for you, it's not for you. ⚠️⚠️⚠️

Thanks so much for the ARC Leila! My Gawd this book is just holy shit your panties will just explode hot. Our girl, Elliot, found a way to get into the brotherhood so that she can find out what happened to her best friend and yes she will go through all the tasks as a pledge. She meets these controlling but HOT AF alphaholes Kingston king alpha, Cannon Broody but silent, Archer (My fave) Smart, but deadly AF.

Omg there is no special treatment even if you are a girl. So if you break the rules. You will get punished wink wink. 🥵 Damn these men do love to edge you. Can we please. AHHH! This girl will personally not give AF what you say and will do what she wants I will definitely read book 2! I need to know what's next! I need more group scenes okay? :D

This book was so weird and Extremely Slow. There is absolutely no reason this needed to be 468 pages or more than one book at all. This book takes place over a single week and barely anything happens. We know almost as much about the characters at the end as we did at the beginning. I could feel the way the author was struggling to draw this out over three book. Just because a lot of why choose romances are series does not mean yours has to be.

Dark, dangerous, suspenseful, and SINFULLY HOT....Kingston was the most incredible read!! It's a mind blowing, edge of your seat, hang on tight kind of ride and one you won't be able to put down for even a single second!!

Now, you'll have to excuse me for a moment while I gather my thoughts because....JUST HOLY MOTHER FLIPPING WOW! This book was so insanely good!! I was in a constant state of intrigue and suspense. OMG, the spice in this book is so deliciously sinful baby!! It will keep you in a lust filled daze long after finishing! Honestly, with guys like these, why choose indeed....🥵🔥🥵🔥

Kingston had a scary hot Alphahole vibe I couldn't get enough of! I was torn between wanting to slap the crap out of him or climb him like a tree! Belive me, the struggle was REAL!

Cannon with his brooding silence. The obsessive, protective, caveman vibe he's got going on...just holy hell! He'll make it impossible not to fall hard and fast for him.

Archer, the sexy and highly intelligent nerd who likes to watch. His sharp wit and humor will endear you to him but, it's the vulnerabilities he keeps hidden that make you want to grab him by his suspenders...hold him close and give him all your love!

I love a strong heroine and Elliott Ashford is one badass chick! Full of strength and determination, she has no trouble standing up for herself and going toe to toe with the brothers of Hawthorne. This gal is no one’s doormat! You gotta love a girl who can appreciate the BDE in the room but, isn't completely mesmerized by it! I loved that Elliott owned her sexuality and wasn't afraid to embrace it. Discovering things about herself while becoming closer with Kingston, Cannon, and Archer. Though, you'll be left wondering how far she'll go to find the answers she desperately seeks.

This book is simply PHENOMENAL from beginning to end and all I can say is expect the unexpected because once you start reading, your going to experience a whole new level of AWSOMENESS that you never have before! Leila definitely writes my brand of book crack and after reading this, I'm absolutely ADDICTED...HOOKED...like GIMME that next book NOW because I'm a gal who definitely needs MORE!

Since the very first moment I read a Leila James book I have been blown away by her ability to create such exceptional characters and to tell a story. I knew going into this series, it would be no different and I would absolutely love everything about this book.

From the very beginning I found myself invested in the story and wanted to know what had happened and how everything was going to play out. Elliot is such an incredibly female main character. I love the little glimpses into how she had been prior to joining Hawthorne Hall and watching as she discovers the person she is becoming while in the house. She is a strong, determined and fierce woman and I absolutely love everything about her.

Then there are the guys who I have fallen in love with more and more as I read the book. I don’t even know if I could pick a favorite since all of them have such different qualities that I love.

Leila seriously did an amazing job with this. I cannot wait to read even more from this series and from her.

This is my first book by Leila James. It did not disappoint, for the most part.

To begin, I just want to say that I really like the book. I love the character evolution. I love the steam. I love the mystery. I love the suspense. I love the protective Alpha males. I love the sassy heroine who doesn't take anything laying down. I love the romance. I wanted to punch a few of the characters several times during the book. My heart raced a lot. This book is truly well-written. It hooked me from the beginning and kept me there until the end.

I read it in one day, though, I did need to take a break because there is one particular thing in this book that hit me very, very personally. I had a very difficult time with it. But it helped considerably that Kingston's reaction when she told him what happened was supportive, even though his initial reaction was less than stellar.

All of that being said, there is one huge part of this book that I just do not like. I can't say what it is without spoiling the book, but the ending made me cry. Yes, it's a cliffhanger, but that is not what got me. It was the feeling like all of the growth everyone had done over the entire book just came crashing down. I feel like the FMC's reaction to what she discovered was immature. And considering everything that she and everyone else went through over the course of the book, this honestly felt like a terrible way for her to react.

While I do feel like that part could have been handled a bit better on the FMC's part, I still HIGHLY recommend this book. I am truly glad I read it, and am looking forward to the rest of the trilogy.

I thought this was going to be a genderbender, but Elliot (yes, that's her name) tricks her way into a fraternity/brotherhood. For the high page count, I flew through this.

Things I enjoyed:
- Elliot is a great FMC. She's tough, determined, and doesn't fold easily. No simpering FMC here. That's always refreshing in a bully trope.
- Kingston, Cannon and Archer are not just manwhore assholes. The latter two don't really do anything horrible and are pretty enamored with Elliot early on. Kingston's the difficult one, but a lot of his turmoil is revealed near the end. Suffice to say, they each have their own story which I'm sure will be further revealed in the upcoming books. They've got depth at least.
- The bullying wasn't the worst I've read, but it's more embarrassing than anything.
- For book one, lots of steam.

What annoyed me:
- Elliot's primary intention of joining the brotherhood was to find out what happened to her cousin/friend Will. Okay, that's fine but what do you mean "Don't know what happened to Will?". What type of investigation was already done? Like.. police case missing or did he die? I mean, if you're going to lay that mystery out.. at the bare minimum, give us that. It doesn't make sense otherwise. Obviously her relationship with the guys is primary but using Will's mystery for relationship drama is gonna be annoying.

I loved this book!! I received an ARC copy of this book and I’m so excited I did because I probably wouldn’t have got around to reading it this year since my TBR list is so long! I have to say this book beat my expectations by far. This is my first book I have read by this author and I have to say it was very well written. It’s easy to stay engaged and follow the plot.

The storyline is great and the spice is hot! These characters are easy to fall in love with for their own reasons. They have sass and attitude which I love but the men are also very protective. On top of the relationship building between the main characters there’s side stories going on within the book such as hazing and mystery. I can not wait for the next book to come out so I can continue reading Elliot’s story and see if she discovers what she went there to find and if she gets her heartbroken along the way or she can manage to keep the boys after.

This is the first in a new series, and my word, this author has done an outstanding job in weaving this intricate and in-depth storyline. Elliot is strong, and fiercely determined to get answers to her cousin / best friend’s disappearance, and she is willing to take on the brotherhood to find out the truth. The brotherhood is about tradition and commitment, and three men who rule with an iron fist, while the initiation games either break or make the candidates. This is a well written flawless story which is an emotional roller coaster, and is a dark, raw, gritty, intense, and intriguing page turner, with bullying, danger, suspense, mystery, drama, angst, twists, secrets, and passion, which pulls at the heartstrings throughout. This story ends in a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to read the second book.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

It had potential. God, this has such potential. Really good synopsis, terrible execution.

Elliot’s lack of character: throughout the book, I found out one thing about this girl. She’s a chemistry major. That’s it. That’s all I know.

Kingston: I’m sorry, I hate guys that are cruel to the MC with little to no reason, I understand the entire connection he creates with his sister and her but even before he established that connection he was just a blatant jerk.

Will: my boy deserved better. I’m sorry your girl best friend forgot about you to fuck three other guys.

Won’t be reading the rest of the series 💋

WHAT!!!! How can you end like that! That was the hottest most craziest last chapter ever! Wow, talk about suspense. Have me on the edge of my seat the entire book, rip my heart out, suspense. I felt the entire book from chapter one I was holding my breathe. Cautious of what would happen with Elliot, how this would all play out. And let me tell you, my jaw is dropped, on the floor jaw drop. Like I’m shaking my kindle for more, because I NEED ANSWERS!!!

Elliot has so much going on. Between her own mystery in her life she is trying to figure out. On top of this, she has this Brotherhood she has become a part of, has to figure out who she can trust, her plate is full. Add in her classes and we can’t forget these beautiful, hot as all heck, mysterious men of the Brotherhood, who’ve taken upon themselves to latch onto her, Kingston, Cannon and Archer. Wowie, I need to fan myself over these three! Leila James out did herself with these three. Hot, smart, mysterious, broody, possessive, jealous. You will fall hard for them. But Cannon is mine, #sorrynotsorry, not sharing!!! ;) Cannon rounds out these three (Cannon, Archer and Kingston), so well. Cannon is so mysterious and we have so much more to learn about him, heck all of them we need more answers about. I can’t wait for all the other books to see what happens.

How is this Leila James’ first ever Reverse Harem/Why Choose story? Her Rosehaven series and Shadow River Elite series are phenomenal. She is a top obsession author for me. Not only does she bring all the angst. She is the best at the shock and wow factor. She shocks you hard then you immediately are like, wow, she went there and i loved it. She is a pro. Her writing is so clear and concise as to who is talking when, I was never confused. The book is hot. And this is only the beginning. Leila came to play and she is not holding anything back. You get so much spice, plus a little “Good Girl” praise here and there, what more could you ask for?!! An absolute must devour, won’t put down, need to get to the end type of read!!

WHAT A TWISTED WEB WE WEAVE!!!

This series started off with a serious BANG… well a couple of them actually! 😏😉 This book seriously exceeded expectations… I knew from the moment Leila started giving snippets online this would be another genius tale. And boy did she ever!!! I just know this series is the tipping point to her career as an author. She is going up and she’s shooting for the stars!

Elliott is an amazing FMC… she strong when she needs to be, soft when she has to be and sassy at all times! Which I love! Cannon our silent protector is so strong, quiet and yet hard as all get out! Archer, our resident “man-genius” is sexy, smart and witty. I fell in love with his banter and his intelligence. Then there’s Kingston… the man, the myth, the LEGEND! Broody, dark, dangerous and always demanding respect. I can’t wait for book 2 just to get another taste of him! Yummy!

Now this book leaves off on one heck of a cliffhanger, but the ride to that edge… whew, it was definitely worth it. The spicy scenes are some I haven’t encountered and that’s saying a lot! I loved the way this was written and how it lead to a few unexpected turns. Now I wait for book 2… to be continued!

Leila's best work yet and holy hotness... Have your booty calls on standby and your toys charged cause you'll need them both.

Kingston is an absolutely incredible start to this series and I can't wait to see it through. Kingston, Cannon and Archer have me on the edge the entire book...all puns intended.

Make sure to set aside time for it because you will not want to put it down!

4.5🌟

‘Kingston’ is a reverse harem, dark bully college romance. This is my first book by Leila James and I was not in the slightest disappointed. I never wanted to put this down (unfortunately i had to tear myself away from it), it draws you in, intrigues you and like a love sick puppy you find yourself falling in love with the characters.

The story centres around Elliot, who’s best friend—Will—had joined the brotherhood a year beforehand and then mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Naturally, Elliot is worried and wants to get to the bottom of what happened, so she decides to trick the Brotherhood into sending her an invite to join their ranks. But when she gets there they find she’s not what they were expecting. Elliot is everything they look for in an initiate on paper—brains, legacy, plenty of sass—what she doesn’t have is the gender required for admittance to the Brotherhood. The majority of the brothers are not happy with her presence but ultimately decide to allow her in on the condition she survives the trials. But Elliot is there on a mission to discover the truth of her friend’s disappearance, so she’s not going to let a small thing like her gender get in the way of that; all she has to do is get through the initiation process. Let the games begin…

The three men who lead the Brotherhood are…damnnn, is all I have to say. I found Cannon just as intriguing as he was obsessed by Elliot. From the moment we meet him there are questions surrounding his character straight away. Wanting to instantly know the reason for his vow of silence. He may not speak but he communicates in other ways, especially by showing Elliot he cares through his protective side. Once he decides she is his, nothing will deter him from staking his claim.

Archer is the brains of the trio. The “boy genius” as Elliot likes to call him. He’s charming and a good flirt but don’t think he doesn’t like to cause chaos just as much as the next person. He may be good with computers but he’s just as good at reading people too.

Kingston is the definition of an alpha-hole and ‘big man on campus’. The leader of the Brotherhood, his word is seen as law and he’s also a stickler for the rules. So when Elliot is constantly breaking his rules, he makes it his mission to break her if it’ll help get her out of his Brotherhood.

"If you want to be part of this brotherhood, you'll have to deal with everything that comes with it. Make no mistake, we won't go easy on you because you're a woman. It'll likely be more difficult because of it."

Also, Elliot. I loved her character. She’s snarky, sassy and doesn’t back down from a fight. While we only got the surface of her story, I’m looking forward to uncovering what more there is to her backstory. But while Elliot and the guys go back and forth with their feelings and growing relationships, something sinister lurks. Danger follows our heroine and the stakes get higher. Will she be able to uncover the buried secrets?

“I vow to play their sick, twisted game until I discover what they know. Even if I break my heart in the process. Betrayal cuts deep, but my revenge will cut deeper.”

Finally, this was a great read. I loved the character dynamics as well as the complexity to the characters. While the first book was used to establish relationships and didn’t really dive deep into the main story or backstory’s of each character, the foreshadowing is there just lurking beneath the depth each one of these characters has. And I can’t wait to find out how it all unfolds.

okay so i started this book a month ago and stopped when i decided to reconnect with my childhood favorite author and her best series ( Naked in Death). after finishing the whole series of 50+ books i can say that this book can’t compare. it’s not worth my time to finish it when i hated everything in 30% i’ve read.

enjoy the rant below.

pre- read: i hope it won’t be a bully romance. guess what

wtf. and what if elliot was really a guy , would they have to strip too? such a sexist bullshit. kingston was the worst so far.
“You found distaste in the idea that we assumed you were a stripper. So you’ll strip. Now. And make it good.”

they made her strip bc she wasn’t a fan of the stripper assumption when she came in into all-men establishment. who would’ve been okay in this situation????????

i didn’t understand what the big deal was with her being a girl in an all boys club. so what? fuck the tradition. it was sexist concept from the start.

“So”—I blink hard before meeting his displeased gaze head on—“I guess if you want her out, you’ll have to do shit that will make her get the fuck out.”

was he a magician to try 4^6 combinations in 4 minutes? i don’t believe it. also wtf???? at least he’s self-aware.

“it takes me only four minutes to guess Elliot’s passcode—1-0-0-3-2-1—which I then use to unlock her phone. Is this a breach of privacy? Eh. Maybe. Okay, yes.”

privacy who? 😃😃😃😃 wtf??? inner sanctum my ass.

“How long will it take her to figure out that we have access to her room anytime we please?”

she’s fucking asleep in front of him. wtf????

“Desire races through my veins as I withdraw my hand from her face and palm my dick with the same hand, unable to stop the onslaught of salacious images rushing at me like a tidal wave.
I pull out my dick. I grasp myself firmly, and my heart throbs in my chest in time with each punishing stroke I deliver. Over and over as my eyes caress Elliot’s slumbering form.”

he couldn’t control himself and it was her problem how?

“As he watches me study him, he reaches down, palming his apparent monster cock. “This is the problem with a woman within the brotherhood.”

this was my first Leila James book, and I am definitely going to be binge reading her entire backlist as soon as I have a chance. I LOVED this.
CWs (full list on author’s website): bullying, mention of self harm and suicide, dub con
Bully romances are already one of my favorite tropes, add in reverse harem and an academic setting? you definitely have my attention. and this one did *not* disappoint. I was hooked from the first chapter and I literally finished this in like a day and a half (if I hadn’t needed to sleep I would have probably finished quicker tbh)
Cannon is definitely my favorite with Archer close behind. I’m still not happy with Kingston, I started warming up to him in the last chapter or so, but now I’m not sure... I really liked Elliot’s character too, and I really hope there is a revenge plot coming in the next book, because that’s one of my FAVORITE parts of bully romances. but whether there is or not, I can't wait to see what Elliot does next.
I was kind of expecting the ending, but I was somehow still surprised, and I need the second book asap! It’s crazy how fast paced this is. The whole book takes place over a week or so, and there are so many things that happen. There isn’t a ton of spice in this one (there is a little and it’s hot and written really well, I can’t wait to get more group activitiessss). But the tension? *chef’s kiss* SO GOOD
Overall, I loved the story. I loved the way it was written, the characters were amazing and the story had me hooked from start to finish. Definitely recommend!!

Spice:🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I was gifted this ARC by Leila James and man it did not disappoint. Book releases on Oct 3rd and when I tell you to preorder it right now!! Trust me.

This is a reverse harem/why choose that follows Elliot who recently lost her best friend and cousin Will when he went missing. Will started attending Kingston University and joined the brotherhood and then disappeared without a peep. Elliot is determined to find out what happened to him so she decided to forge her fathers signature on recommendation paperwork for the brotherhood since he’s a legacy. She is accepted and invited to initiation night and all the guys think they are inviting Elliot a guy. Boy do they get a surprise when the little firecracker shows up and refuses to be swayed. She meets the three senior leaders of the “Brotherhood” which are Kingston (the leader), Cannon, and Archer. Of course they are determined to make her drop out on her own and throw everything they can at her.

Will she survive the boys of Kingston University and find out what happened to Will?

Well this book was absolutely amazing. I do have to say my favorite is Cannon! Kingston is my second an Archer is my third. The bullying was not at all bad or absolutely horrible. The fact that they guys basically watch over her even if they’re butt heads in the beginning is nice. The cliffhanger at the end was not bad it was just sorta bad only because now I’m wishing we could just skip to the month book 2 comes out because I seriously am in need of it now. I’d totally recommend this book to anyone an the mystery in the book is so good you think you know but you really have no idea what’s gonna happen. The multiple POVs is great as well I read this book in two days it just sucks you right in.

Awesome quick read from Leila James!! I could not put it down and just had to keep reading to see what happened next.

MFC: Elliot, Elle, does what it takes to join her father's brotherhood in search of answers for what happened to her cousin and best friend, Will. Once inside Hawthorne Hall, she starts to become a more confident, sassy, strong person.

Kingston, Cannon and Archer are the three seniors and the ones that run the house. Kingston is in charge and has a lot of mixed feelings about Elliot being there. Cannon feels a love at first sight type thing and becomes very protective of her. Archer is the goofy one that tries to keep everyone smiling. Dibs on Cannon!! Oh my.

The cliffhanger was definitely a bit tame and was not what I thought would happen!!

Kingston by Leila James is the 1st of 3 books in the Kingston University Series. This book explodes right from the beginning and sizzles right off the pages.

Be prepared for this reverse harem story, with possible triggers for some. It's sinful, brutal, explicit, steamy and addicting.

The boys are electrifying, undeniable, intoxicating and will thrill your every senses.

Elliot (Elle) challenges these boys to no end. She's determined, willful, and headstrong. She takes the brotherhood by storm and spits them out.

Kingston by Leila James is fiery and will take you to hell and back and will leave you pulsing and wanting for more.

I've heard alot of great things a out Leila James's books. I was so glad to be able to be apart of the ARC team for Kingston. This book gave me all the feels. From reading the spicy scenes to sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen next. It was written so well. I cannot wait to uncover the secrets within the brotherhood. Cannon has to be the one character I'm very intrigued by. What is his story? This is definitely worth the read if your looking for a spicy romance with possible more than one love interest. 😉

Elliott makes for a very strong FMC, taking nothing from nobody. She can certainly hold her own and is more determined than anything to get answers. Can’t say I blame her, those men are sketchy! Brave girl to do what she’s doing. Kingston, Cannon, and Archer are steamyyyy. You get everything in this book! Plot, twists, suspense, heated content. So so good. I need answers! My goodness I need book 2 like yesterday! Can’t wait for more of these men and this story. Love them all but Cannon holds a special place in my heart already.

I have so been looking forward to this book for what seems like ages and it didn't disappoint! It is a dark bully why choose romance with loads of spice and a really good storyline that is full of mystery and drama. I loved the character development, I personally think the FMC is ballsy and I want my own Kingston, Archer and Cannon. This book is part of a series so does end on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what happens in the next one.
This is the first Leila James book I have read and now her entire blacklist is on my TBR list.
