After multiple unsuccessful attempts at making a decent loaf of bread in my bread machine, I put it on the shelf where it has stayed for eons collecting dust and mocking me. That all changed when I was browsing Amazon and came across Linda Rehberg's Bread Machine Magic. The reviews said to not give up on your automatic bread maker until you give the recipes in this book a try.
I've only tried two recipes so far, though the Heavenly Bread has become a staple, an instant classic. I don't have to buy bread for sandwiches anymore. Sunday afternoon I make a large loaf of Heavenly Bread and we have the most amazing and healthy whole grain bread that you can get. The smell of fresh bread baking in the house is something that I don't ever want to be without. I'm so happy that I listened to the reviewers because even if I only ever make the Heavenly Bread recipe over and over, I feel like I got my money's worth and more.
A good starting point for beginning bread machine owners like myself. A real easy guide and nice layout for a host of great recipes that still need a bit of tweaking depending on your machine.
The recipe for Heavenly Whole Wheat Bread (p.41) has been a great addition to my recipe collection.
An excellent guide on making bread in a bread machine.
For beginners, there is detailed information on typical ingredients used, how to store your ingredients, and which ones to choose from. Each recipe is split into small, medium, or large loaves. They even include which bake cycle to select!
Everything is split into very easy to find sections like white, wheat, savory, sweet, etc. It's super easy to find which breads you'd love the most and sort to which ingredients you have on hand.
I've tried several recipes per the instructions exactly and have had 100% success.
Did not actually read. Skimmed through, and found no weight measurements so this book doesn't quite speak my language. I use this review space as a "note to self" area, it is not a reflection on the book's quality. I haven't provided a rating.
I found that most of these need to be fine-tuned to suit the machine you are working with, but overall have been pleased with the results I've had from the recipes.
