I’m a very basic air-fryer user and most of the time it’s frozen chips/nuggets, so it was nice to try out some recipes and give it some more use.
While I do think the Air-Fryer has great potential for quicker cooking and also making less mess, these recipes were mainly suited for a larger air-fryer with more bells and whistles, not just the basic type that I have.
There weren’t too many recipes that I was interesting in trying out, but the 5 below are what I tried out and my thoughts.
🍽️ Chicken Banh Mi I used Pork Tenderloin and Chicken Breast Fillets for this recipe and I made it for my old man’s birthday dinner and to perfectly sum this recipe up, from my mum words - “AMAZING”. The flavour of the meat and that sauce - honestly perfection and this will be on rotation at our dinner table.
🍽️ Onion Rings These were delicious and super quick to cook as-well. Great to have another option as a side dish with our burgers/steak sandwiches that we enjoy.
🍽️ Chocolate Churro-Style Baked Oats These weren’t enjoyable at all and they didn’t cook well, still being raw in the middle and had to finish them off in the microwaved, but unfortunately even after this, it was like eating cardboard.
🍽️ Cacio E Pepe-Style Gnocchi & Chickpeas Another fail of a recipe unfortunately, not sure what happened with this one when they did the ingredients, but 1 whole onion was just too much and it’s all you could taste through the whole dish and it was inedible. We ended up having to get takeout this night 🙈
🍽️ Barbecue Chicken Tenders These were an absolute win and another that I will cook again, chickens cooked still moist, nice and crunchy and we used these tenders to make BBQ Tender Burgers with Aioli and smoked cheese 👌 A perfect way to make tenders without having to deep fry.
Few wins and a couple of misses, but I feel like that’s the norm with all cookbooks, but I will definitely looking out for other cookbooks and hopefully try other things to cook in this popular kitchen appliance.
Lots of great ideas to try out (plus some mentions on how to cook in a conventional oven if you don’t own an air fryer or want to use the oven for more than one thing). I’m not sure I’ll try the croissant wrapped crème egg…
Also, as someone who is both gluten and dairy free, the recipes are so straight forward that I’ll be able to swap stuff without much issue. The only possible gotcha is filo pastry which I’m going to try rice wrappers for because why not.
This cookbook is perfect for anyone with an air fryer! It’s packed with recipes for every taste. As someone who’s pretty new to cooking, I’m happy to say that none of the recipes feel intimidating. In fact, there are so many that I’m excited to try, which honestly surprised me. I can’t wait to dive in and start using my air fryer for actual meals instead of just heating up pizza rolls!
Will definitely be trying out lots of these recipes. Lots of variety and they look delicious. Use my air fryer a lot so always looking for new recipes. Have rarely used oven over the last few months. Looks like I won’t be using it anytime soon.
This recipe book actually has recipes my picky husband wants to try! We love trying new recipes and many have been picked out to try. And they look fairly uncomplicated too. :) Big plus for this household!
Giant cookie recipe absolutely inedible, proportions of ingredients way off, was still raw after adding on 10 mins of cooking time and all you could taste was the bicarbonate of soda. Instructions not very clear or well written
This is a beautifully illustrated/photographed easy to follow air fryer recipe book. I love it because most of all the recipes are super easy to follow. They have a little something for everyone. From lazy air fry donuts to more complex little lunch stuff like buffalo chicken wrap.
