Chaos and destruction are on a collision course with the Critical Response Team.
And the assassin hunters are about to become the hunted.
Cal Shepard thought he and colleague Derrick Nolan were finally heading home after a lengthy recon trip around Southeast Asia.
But when their small charter plane is forced to land on a remote tropical island west of Thailand, they and the other passengers are thrust into a cat-and-mouse game of survival against a master assassin and his cadre of trainees.
With an upcoming international trade delegation set to take place in Myanmar, it soon becomes evident to Perseus and the Critical Response Team that this is about more than just targeting Shepard and Nolan.
Relying on the help of an old friend, mantracker Mitch Kearns, who joins the search, the Critical Response Team will face one of the greatest threats to their existence against an adversary as capable and cunning as themselves.
Volume Four in the explosive Search and Destroy Series.
What a thrilling and engaging story. I've read the whole series, and it is so well written, very suspenseful, twist, murders - good and bad die, intrigue, and many villains to keep the story a fast read.
What is unique is there are at least 4 stories going on at the same time, from POV from different players. This was not confusing but giving you different insight how it was all playing out.
Crude words and Lords name used in vain. No cliffhanger, but you realize the computer system is taking over slowly, and no one is aware of it happening yet. This is a standalone, but you'll be so invested in the team you'll want to start at the beginning.
I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. (ljb)
Cal Shepard is on a flight that lands on an unoccupied island in Southeast Asia. It's bad enough being stranded with no supplies, but they are also being hunted by Chinese assassins.
Mitch Kearns is supposed to meet him at the airport, when he doesn't arrive, Kearns and the gang start looking for him.
Meanwhile, Chinese intelligence is staging a coup in Myanmar, starting with an assassination.
I enjoyed the book. The story line was good, but as time wore on and beyond the end, I wondered what he was going to do with his plans to live in the desert. Obviously, he left. Returning in the future? Maybe. Too, I thought Angela was a real Witch with a big B. So, how that all turned out with the pots calling each other black was rather, I felt, stupid. Birds of a feather and all. I loved Luce’s character and she may well be the lead!!!
I have enjoyed each book in this series and none have left me disappointed. This tale was fast-paced and loaded with action. The twists and turns kept the pages turning. The storyline was unique and I can't wait to read the next adventure in this series.
Although this book follows a common formula, it’s still very good. The Cal Shepard character isn’t incredibly remarkable, but the action and plotting are solid, and the supporting cast is effective.
Wow another incredible Cal Shepard novel. This might just be my favorite of this series so far. Lots of action , lots of twists to keep you guessing. Do not hesitate to get this book you won’t be disappointed!!!
Again like how the author casts his characters and the solutions that are used to outwit the enemy. This wasn’t one of my favorite books in the series. Hopefully the next book in the series gets back to speed
Someone tries to take out Cal and the whole team. But ultimately they are not successful. But they are not all eliminated. So does that spell more trouble from them in the future?
This book while is was ok it wasn't a real good book that I like to read but if like these books where some action is in it you would probably like it!
Recommended to readers of WEB Griffin and Andrew & Wilson. Close to the Presidential agent series. I look forward to where author goes with Cal and presuses
