Accidental Always: A New Adult College Romance

Rate this book
Andrea Lee gives a powerful tale of real love, loss and life. Accidental Always delivers an authentic telling of a modern day romance and the challenges it entails. If you enjoy college romance or fame-no fame tropes, this book is for you!

Jules is and always had been a loner. For years, her life had been nothing but a lonely pit that kept her confined in a shell of heartache and pain. She never saw herself falling in love. Seeing people around her so in love, she never even contemplated a life of this. She had accepted at a young age that loneliness was the path she was headed down. She didn't think it was in her hand of cards, and she was more or less okay with it. Going abroad for school was as far as she wanted to go in expanding those tight-knit horizons of hers. Then, famous heart-throb Ethan Wright came crashing into her life and it all changed.

NOTE FROM AUTHOR

Hello, fellow book lover!

I appreciate you taking a chance on Accidental Always! There are a few things I should probably point out before you start reading. First, please be aware of triggers such as mentions of attempted sexual assault, mentions of suicide, drug use, moments of toxicity in the relationship, and explicit sex scenes.

Second, please also keep in mind that my main characters are young, ranging in age from 18-22. Therefore, they are still finding their footing in life. Jules and Ethan's story is not always pretty but bear with me.

This is going to be a three-book series so don't fret as there is room for growth amongst my main characters and their story does NOT end here!

Thank you so much and love to you all, Andrea

Overall enjoyed the start of this series about film star Ethan and everyday nerdy girl Jules. The side characters for both of our mc’s were likable and there was some real funny dialogue. Our MMC is portrayed as a player, but at the point in his life he’s tired of the same old. Had some serious anger management issues which Jules forgave a bit too easily in my opinion,
A few issues that took away from their story for me…
-Dialog read a bit robotic
-Written with too many step by step movements. “I brush my teeth. I rinse my mouth.” Things like that throughout. Made it read choppy.
-Most of all this took place in London. Most of our characters, besides the FMC, are from the UK. So it would be expected dialog would show slang that was more common in the UK versus American slang.
These things were prominent for me but not enough for me to not want to finish the story.

I'll start off by saying that it has been a while that I have read a book in just a few days time. Accidental Always kept me so engrossed, and I finished it in record time.

It starts with Jules, who is an American girl moving to England to go to university. She has had her struggles in life, which she still has nightmares about. She's introverted, a good student and really focused on school and getting good grades, because this (in my opinion) is something she has control over.

Our love interest, Ethan, is an English heartthrob. He's the child of a famous model (mom) and a workaholic actor (dad). He's got women falling over each other for a night with him. But he too has got demons in his closet, his biggest demon being his dad.

When Jules and Ethan meet, it's the start of a whirlwind romance, with high highs and very low lows. The passion between them gave me all the feels, which not many books have given me lately.

The only downside to this book, is that I have to wait an entire year for part two 😭

✨ Accidental Always Review ✨

My Rating: 3.5⭐️
Spice: 🌶.5

A college romance, with a fame/no fame trope.

So this is one of those stories where you either hate it or love it…and I LOVED it. I enjoy when the story is dramatic because people can’t get it together! They are absolutely head over heels for one another but the issues they have separately bleed into the relationship causing one to second guess.

Jules is a girl who spends her time in books and away from other people, while Ethan is an actor who can’t get away from prying eyes. They might have very little in common with each other but I could see their connection in everything they did with one another.

I’m really hoping as this story continues they are able to face their issues head on.

That cliff.
One word. Livid.
Ethan. Come onnnn.

I can’t wait to continue Jules and Ethans story in the next book!

Jules one of the main protoganists is a girl that is very selfless and decides to make a drastic change and move to England. Where she meets Ethan a famous actor.
The story sometimes is a little far reached and a little predictable.
However I still wanted to finish the book as soon as possible, the end is a bit of a cliffhangers. Looking forward to the next installment!

Such a very sweet love story. This is the first book I have read from this author and I really loved it.

The story was very well written and emotionally charged. I really felt the connection between the two main characters. The dynamic that was portrayed between all the characters in the book was realistic and raw.

The ending was quite heartbreaking but I so look forward to the next book in this series, Accidental Forever.

Accidental Always is such a wonderful book. It's very well written and I found the story to be interesting. I fell in love with Ethan. I could totally handle him being my boyfriend/husband. And Jules. I adored her. The banter and chemistry these 2 share is so sweet and funny. But be prepared for the ending. I'm not a crier and this ending had me tearing up. I can't wait for the next book.

Thank you for the ARC❤️

It took me a while to write this review as I found this book very loving and emotional. I also struggled with the ending... ONLY because it was a proper cliffhanger and I have to wait until book 2 is released🥺

This book really shocked me as for some reason I didnt see it going the way it did.
The characters profile is really built up so it felt like you could really understand them.

When Jules moves over to the UK from Southern California she just wanted to settle down and study to get her grades. She didnt expect to bump into Famous Ethan Wright and get into a whirlwind of a relationship with him.

Jules' roomates Jenna and Mia are very special to Jules as they seem to be able to get her through anything she encounters.

I enjoyed this book and I cannot wait until book 2 is released to find out what happens between Jules and Ethan.

This felt like a Wattpad story. Though there are some stories that are really good on that platform, personally I felt that this book needed some good editing. Point in case: The beginnings with I. It just felt monotonous.

Coming to the storyline, Ethan is a British actor who has returned home after a long movie and promotional tour where he encounters Jules, a Young American girl with anxiety issues who has shifted to London to study Literature.

The encounter is basically love at first sight where the instant attraction makes the couple spend time with each other. What makes this story a little less believable is that the FMC meets an absolutely perfect roommate and also lands a great job on the day she lands in London. That's just OTT.

Anyway, we are then taken through their love story with nothing setting them apart with the occasional possessive scene to make the MC more desirous. That and the MC having an apathetic father is basically the driving force of the story. I wish I could feel a bit more interest in the leads but they are just dull.

I give this book 3 stars because I think the author has definitely set a ground work for the FMC and I would like to see how she handles her problems related to her past.

#AccidentalAlways by @andrealeeauthor rated ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5 stars) on #goodreads and #storygraph

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Via booksirens!

I was so gripped into this book - I absolutely loved Jules and Ethan, both as individuals and together. As individuals they both had their traumas, with painful family experiences. Together, they had undeniable chemistry. The were like two sides of a magnet - completely drawn to one another. Their relationship was very full on almost instantly after meeting, but you could see it was love - almost instantly.

Of course their surroundings (Ethan being famous) brought some challenges. Their relationship became a little more difficult, full of jealousy. The last 25% or so seemed quite toxic unfortunately. I truly loved the book up until this point - when things started to get a little uncomfortable!

I loved the little bookstore job - it was really sweet, and I liked Ian a lot! Damon was an interesting character, I could see a side book for him! And I loved Jenna and Mia - the LGBTQ+ rep was nice, and I loved both of the girls, especially Jenna who was a great friend to Jules!

I found a slight spelling mistake - Doc Martins should be Marten’s - loc 1320.

I can’t believe the book left on such a cliffhanger?! It felt a little unfinished?! I can’t explain it. Either way, I’ll be picking up the sequel to continue to story this time next year for sure - hopefully their relationship becomes a little more solid and less toxic because I really do love both characters together.

Overall a good read, I just wish the last 25% was more honest, open and less toxic, it would have been 5 stars if that was the case.

"I didn’t mean to know her. I didn’t mean to fall in love with her, I swear. She came into my life like a hurricane. The aftermath of her wreckage and re-construction of me still exists to this day. It always will."

My thoughts: Thank you so much to @katieandbreypa and the wonderful author for letting me be on this team! This book was everything you would expect from a college Romance, along with Famous/non Famous drama, that makes you think I'm so glad I'm not in that scenario! I really enjoyed the multiple POV's in this book from both MC's, i always love seeing situations from both sides of the story! I really enjoyed the setting of this book and the authors writing style, however I felt the characters were really hard to connect with and lacked depth. However it was a perfect rainy day romance book and I think you should check it out!

I give Accidental Always by Andrea Lee ⭐️⭐️⭐️.🌟

It's been awhile since I came across a college romance book and it felt like reuniting w/ an old friend. Honestly, when I first started reading this I thought it would be just a typical college romance story but no. There's more to unpack here and I think the book has so much potential. I deeply hope that the ending will give us satisfying transformation and a good wrap up.

I LOVE:
▫️The main character's love and affection for her family, her determination to achieve her dreams as well as the fact that she's a lit major and working part time in a bookstore.
▫️IANS READS vintage bookshop, the smell of old books and the nostalgic feeling it gave Jules when she remembered her mother's Attic Library.
▫️Friendly Jenna and her relationship w/Mia. Though at some point, it felt off and I think there is something “fishy” going on that I’ve yet to confirm.
▫️Picturesque London.
▫️Clear depiction of an actor's life in Ethan's character. We get to see the highs and the lows.
▫️Ethan's love and protection towards Jules, his mother & his sister.
▫️Strong friendship among Ethan's circle. I love their brotherhood.

I WISH:
▫️That some scenes are less predictable.
▫️There could've been more character depth.
▫️To see Ethan resolves his temper and over protectiveness issues.
▫️To know what happens next as the book ended in a cliffhanger.

TW: suicide, substance, infidelity

Read if you like:
💋Celebrity x Commoner
💋Touch her and you die
💋Spicy sex scenes

🎬First book I’ve read from this author and I loved it! This story was so well written and emotionally charged throughout!

🎬I felt such a connection between the main characters. I was so engrossed and finished it in record time.

🎬The way the bookstore was described, omg I could feel myself being there!

🎬There are so many scenes I loved. But one of my favourites is the karaoke scene, to die for😍😍.

🎬I absolutely hated Ethan dad, like what an arsehole! His mum needs to get a bloody back bone!

🎬”The picture I had painted for my life was simple, lonely and definitely did not include someone like her. Now my entire heart, my entire being is structured around her” omg I died😱😱

🎬The epilogue😫 come on Ethan do not do me like that! Would 100% recommend you read this!

I’m interested in knowing more about what has happened between jules dad and brother. I feel like there is more of a story there. Also why did Mia start getting funny about Ethan at the end???

The beginning was promising and I don't know when it all turned into another After-like series story. I am not a fan of this series because of the toxicity in the main characters relationship.

The storyline follows Jules and Ethan and their relationship.

Jules is a very attractive young American girl whith has anxiety and self-confidence issues. She moves to Uk to study literature and magically meets the perfect roommate and lands a great job at a local bookstore in her first day in London.
Ethan is a famous British actor who had returned home after a promotional tour. He meets Jules at a party and it is love at first sight and the attraction make them spend time to each other.

Until now the book is acceptable but their relationship continues with possessive scenes, kealousy that degenerates into physical violence, a lot of breakups and make-ups.

I really hope Ethan will seek for specialised help with his anger issues in next book.

This was not my kind of book but could be yours.

I received this ebook in exchange of a honest review.

In a nutshell, I’m pretty ambivalent about this read. The story follows the evolving relationship of Jules and Ethan, opposites who are attracted “like magnets” to one another (perhaps a slight eye roll there). It’s not the most mature read and their biggest obstacle is how their relationship will survive spending four months apart. We’re talking big problems here!

My rating was mostly determined on how I felt arriving at the epilogue, only to find out this is the first of a three-part series. Am I desperate for the second book? Not overly. Would I read it? Probably. Is it at the top of my most anticipated releases? Doesn’t even crack the top five.

As for how many stars out of five, it’s a true 💛💛💛💔 (3.5) for this one. Bonus points for dual POV, the awesome roommate that is Jenna, and the enviable job that Jules has in a bookstore!

The book review for Accidental Always by Andrea Lee is FINALLY here! Jules is a girl that has always been a loner, as a result of childhood trauma. For years, her life was nothing but a lonely pit where she hid her trauma, her loneliness, and her pain. She never even contemplated a life where she'd fall in love. Then, plans changed. She moved to the US to attend college, and there she meets Ethan Wright, and her life changes in more ways than one! This book was absolutely heartbreaking and the ending had me screaming! I can't tell you the number of times I had to reach for the tissues. I absolutely LOVED it! I can't wait for the sequel because I need more of Jules and Ethan and I need more of their story!

EDIT: Ok - wow - was not expecting the negative backlash. I take onboard that the feedback about the inauthentic use of language may have been picky so I have deleted my list but I stand by my review. The writing is not of high enough calibre for acceptance in main stream publishing. Attacking my review is not going to change that.

I love fan fiction and love reading it. But there is a huge difference between fan fiction and general fiction. If this was fan fiction, I would rate it four stars but as a novel the style of writing is completely wrong.

One other word of advice, when writing about another country make sure that one of your beta readers is from that country. It helps you avoid embarrassing mistakes.

As a reader who loves college romance books, and suspense – this one was right up my alley! Jules moves to London to attend university and meets Ethan – a famous actor. She has no idea he’s famous at first. They end up in a whirlwind romance. The ups, the downs and the downright ugly phases well. I could not stop reading this! Always chasing the next page to find out their story! Finished this in almost record time, and I’m jumping right onto the next. Brilliant!

The plot was really good. But I felt like every romance stereotype was written. I also got a little annoyed with the whole we just met but are in love and I didn’t realize what dating a movie star would be like naivety that Jules possessed most of the time.

I did enjoy that she pulled of the opposites attract very well and that there was LBGT representation in the book. A good mix of Colleen Hoover and Gossip Girl but not my taste.

Oh Ethan, you're such a sweet jerk! I loved everything about Ethan and Jules, from their fights to their make ups. So happy there is a second book. These two need all the books, their love can't be contained in one book. Highly recommend reading, unread it all in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.
