Jennifer loves reading and writing clean romance. She believes that happily ever after is not just for stories. Jennifer enjoys interior design, rollerblading, clogging, jogging, and chocolate. In Jennifer’s opinion there are few ills that can’t be solved with a warm brownie and scoop of vanilla-bean ice cream. Jennifer grew up in rural Alabama and loved living in a town where “everybody knows everybody.” Her love for writing began as a young teenager when she wrote stories for her high school English teacher to critique. Jennifer has a BA in English and Social Sciences from Brigham Young University Hawaii where she served as Miss BYU Hawaii. Before becoming an author, she worked as the owner and editor of a monthly newspaper named The Senior Times. She now lives in the Rocky Mountains with her family and spends her time writing and doing all of the wonderful things that make up the life of a busy wife and mother.
A little giddy after only reading the first page. The finale of this thrilling series comes together back in the forties, which is my favorite time! I would love to someday read an entire series staged in the forties, written by Youngblood. Imagine the possibilities!
This is the explosive final book of the Honeysuckle Island series by Jennifer Youngblood. This author knocked this book out of the park. I loved that it was full of suspense, intrigue, not knowing who the bad guy was, and danger. And I loved the way it included a scene from Oliver when he was young.
Madeline and Brooks finally get their story here. The reader gets to see a little of how their relationship started, but also it gets to see their second chance. Madeline and Brooks have been married a long time, their last child is about to get married when Madeline gets some pictures showing that Brooks had been having an affair. Honestly, Madeline isn't perfect either. She'd been having lunches with another man, that she thought were innocent.
Unfortunately, Madeline is kidnapped. And no one knows who took her or exactly why. I loved watching both of these mysteries unfold. It was fun watching Brooks and their kids become detectives and piecing together what had happened and why. And then there's Oliver's treasure. I had thought through the whole series that it wasn't a real treasure. But...you're just going to have to read this one to figure that out for yourself.
I loved this series. Make sure that you read the other books before this one, so it makes sense!
This is an intense conclusion to the Honeysuckle Island series! I loved getting a peak into the lives of Oliver and Josette as well as Banks and Madeline. I like that this story highlighted some of the obstacles that are faced by couples who have been lovingly married for a long time. There are still challenges and a relationship needs to be nurtured. It was terrific getting a peak into the lives of all the Chasing children from previous books. I loved watching them pull together as a family to overcome the evils that try to pull their family apart. Watching the mysteries of the treasure unfold kept me awake way into the night because I couldn't put the story down.
For years, there have been rumors about treasure on The Honeysuckle Island. Now a documentary made by an ex-girlfriend has alluded to ill-gotten treasure hidden on the island by Banks's father Oliver. In this book, we get kidnapping, suspense, revenge, a marriage rocked, and answers about the treasure. I received a free copy of this ebook from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This book is an excellent wrap up to the series. Not only do we get a suspenseful story, but we also receive flashbacks from Oliver's life and Banks's wooing of Madeline as well.
Wow! What a wonderful end to the series. It is a story full of danger and suspense with a bit of romance. We get to read about Grandpa Oliver and Grandmother Josette as well as the truth about the treasure. Is the treasure real or make believe? We also get to read about Madeline and Banks love story. When their love for each other becomes questionable, will they be able to find their way back to each other?
I loved this ending to the series, or what I'm guessing is the end. I love how everything ties together and there are bits and pieces of the treasure mystery in each book. I love that Madeline and Banks remained faithful to each other even when they came close to that line in different ways. All great characters. I love the unveiling of the mystery.
I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily sharing my honest opinion.
This final book in the Honeysuckle Island series is filled with suspense and romance. On the eve before her youngest granddaughter's wedding, family matriarch, Josette, is beaten and her diamond necklace is stolen. Additionally, Madeline Chasing is kidnapped with the ransom being the lost Chasing treasure. Bank Chasing must work with the rest of his family to find the truth that his father had been hiding his whole life. Great story with lots of twists and turns.
This conclusion of the series is just wow the mystery and suspense was awesome will keep you on the edge of your seat I couldn't put this book down the things that happened to Madeline and Banks I didn't see coming. This book have action, mystery, suspense and answers a lot of questions about Oliver and Josette Chasing past and the treasure. Awesome read. I truly recommend it to anyone. This book is also clean easy to read and fast pace.
The overall series would probably be a three one of the books in the series was awful. Most of them were average. This particular book was above average was better put together. We thought it out. Her characters were much better portrayed. I still have an issue with her Charlie she just doesn’t seem to get that character on paper right I don’t know exactly what’s wrong with it but the very jagged schizophrenic look at Charlie.
The Chasings have a lot of history. Some of it is criminal. What happened many years ago catches up with the family. A marriage threatened, fake friends and a treasure to be found are just some of the elements of this edge of your seat story. A wonderful , supportive family and a great mystery will be solved.
Comfortable Lies is an edge of your seat story of great love, betrayal, revenge, treasure and more. The Chasings are rocked by scandal and then Madelaine and Josette are physically attacked. Oliver and Josette's back story is fascinating. Many of the series questions are answered in this gripping tale. You do not want to miss this studding conclusion to the Honeysuckle Island series!
This was a good book, but was very scattered and hard to follow until about halfway through. Keeping track of the characters and their intertwined relationships was almost impossible to follow. About the last third of the story, it got organized and made sense.
This book was the most exciting one of all of Jennifer's books I have read. The adventure of finding who was behind all of the documentary and the way Felix had Tessa was involved to get Banks to give her the money. Madeleine getting kidnapped and how the treasure hunt turned out. I look forward to reading her next book.
I purchased a copy of Comfortable Lies by Jennifer Youngblood and this review was given freely. An all encompassing recap of the series merged with the story that started it all, and another complex story of revenge. Best if read in series order or as he only book in the series, as it is very detailed.
An unbelievable ending to the Honeysuckle Island Series. The final finish. This story has it all, abiding love, mostly. It is so uplifting to know the treasure is a truth that spans the ages. It can transform even the aged Josette. Satisfying. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
The Honeysuckle Island Series proved to be a great way to read away in rainy days. Banks and Madeline Chasing's love story was a perfect ending to a good series. I found reading the stories in order made the Chasings live flow evenly.
What a finish! I loved all the many great characters and the suspense and mystery have you turning pages all night. This is a great suspenseful mystery with clean romance.
