Hippolyta Lykourgos is the strongest warrior in her wolf pack. She gives her all to her family and everyone around her, but she’s haunted by the memory of the boy she left behind. He was the only weakness she’s ever had. The one thing that she’s missing in her life, but she’s sworn to move past him and forget every moment they’ve spent together.
Cole has lived a life full of regrets. He’d hurt the girl who meant more to him than anything else. He had pushed her away, thinking it would be best for her, but in the end it had done nothing but ruined his life.
When they’re forced to meet so they can face the threat that’s been trying to destroy their family, can they work together to overcome it? Or will old hurts surface and tear them apart again?
I am obsessed with this series and this one did not disappoint! Hippolyta is the strongest in the pack besides the alpha and she’s awesome! But we learn that her mate rejected her years ago and she is still upset over it. Cole was young and confused until it was too late. Pining for YEARS over her, he decides to go to the US compound and claim her. But Lyta is not quick to forgive. Although her wolf wants their mate. Stinking biology! The angst was amazing even though the HEAT STARTS EARLY! Watching Cole grovel and Lyta try so hard to stand her ground even though she wants him so badly was torture in the best possible way! Freaking love this book!
Loved the story and how it progressed. It kept my attention and kept me reading needing to know more and more about Cole and Lyta.
The heat between them was intense and the miscommunication even worse. The way their feelings and how things were misconstrued and misunderstood were written into the story was really well done and makes you think twice about sitting back and taking things how YOU understand it!
A lot of questions at the end weren’t answered and a lot left untold so now I’m looking forward to the next book to find out about Knox… I’m really hoping questions about Michael and Alex are answers along with Miles!
This is an amazing addition to the series. We finally get the explanation to why Lyta and Cole are so hard on themselves and everyone around. This is story was the most emotional for me since the prequel and the new characters, and their pack, added depth to the already thickening plot. I devoured the book in one day and, although it can be read as a standalone with its own HEA, I am left with even more questions and I can’t wait to meet all of Saam King’s characters again. This is definitely a collection to have, read and reread!
Really liked Hippolyta and Cole’s story. There’s a great over-arcing story in this series but it needs some editing assistance. Pacing issues. Transition issues. POV changes mid-chapter with no clear indication of who’s speaking. Scene changes mid-page were jarring. It’s an enjoyable series but it unfortunately has a lot of structural issues that derail that enjoyment.
note : he rejected her for his mate except SHE was his actual mate. she slept with him immediately with no grovel his only redemption was he stayed a virgin for 100 years for her
🔥 Wolf Shifters 🔥 Fated Mates 🔥 Groveling 🔥 Must Read Series in Order
I started book 3 thinking it could be read in any order. I really wanted to like this book but it just isn't written to my liking. The chapters may start from one POV but can change at any point. Some chapters are from entirely different people and I had no clue who they were. Cole and Lita are totally adorable in the beginning. I'm guessing long lives are a thing because he stays in Greece for 200 years before finally going after her? Like seriously?? I didn't even get to a groveling point before she was in heat and they were in bed together...like huh? So, just not for me.
IF I decide to start at the beginning, I'll change my review but at this point I'm just looking for something else.
My Personal Ratings:
5 Stars: Loved it! Couldn’t put it down or obsessed about it while needing to get to the end of it. Had to share some bits with my hubby!! Usually read in less than 2 days cause a girl has got to sleep sometime. Will be reading everything this author has to offer and most likely reread the series as next books in the series are released.
4 Stars: Really Good. Whether the story drew me in or a specific character, will definitely continue the series and look into more books by this author.
3 Stars: Enjoyed something about the book, whether it be the storyline or a character but also may have not liked something. Sometimes the book is great but needs some TLC from an editor. May or may not continue the series.
ARC Review I was super lucky to recieve an ARC for this book. I Absolutely enjoyed and I cannot tell you how excited I am for more. -I loved loved loved the groveling. I really enjoyed that because I feel like I haven't read much books lately with any sort of groveling and pining by the mmc. -I enjoyed the subplots and all the various povs happening, I thought I disliked 3rd person pov but I've come to realize it can be amazing once written well. I think Saam did a great job at creating smooth transitions into thr story lines. -Another thing I really enjoyed was how it was a fun read but at the same time there were elements of suspense. Again everything was so well written, it easily held my interest. It's one of those books where it's an easy read and does not suck the life outta you. - I think the one thing I could not wrap my head around was the amount of time that passed. That there wasn't anyway Cole tried to fix things. Like I understand a couple years and being worried to make stuff worst. But damn it was 112 years. And while I thought about them being wolves ect it's different, my understanding is that time moves the same as for humans. Just they grow older differently. Anyways, I loved most if not all of these characters and I'm super excited to read more from Saam ❤️
As I said in my review of book 1 to this series, I am not ususally a shifter romance reader, but this series just keeps getting better and better!
This is Hippolyta's story, and I was so hooked. Cole was her childhood friend, and a fellow packmate. Fear and hurt feelings kept them apart, but once they were in the same space again, sparks fly! This story was packed with emotions, and the spice level was off the charts.
The side story took a turn I did not see, so I immediately downloaded book 4 and cant wait to finish it.
This is book three in the series and this is my favorite couple! Cole has his faults but he does so much to make up for them. He would burn the world for Lyra or give her the matches to do it her self. This is a twist in this book that I didn’t see coming but I like it. A part of me hopes that everyone can be friends in the end. We will see. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
These characters are so loveable! I adore Cole's patience and unconditional love. Lyta's strength is amazing even when I wanted to knock some sense into her for her stubbornness. Together, they're the perfect complement to each other. I'm running to the next book in the series right now!
I really enjoyed this book and the back and forth between the FMC and the MMC. I will say this was book 3 in a series and I haven’t read the first two so I was a little lost while they were talking about other mated pairs. Definitely start with the first book. Enjoyed the build up for these two and it was spicy ❤️🔥
Cole and Lyta oh my goodness rip my heart out! I love where this is going with Alex and Michael. I barely even know Knox and already I want to lick him and claim him as mine. The big bad story arc takes a surprising turn. I'm so excited for the next book!
3rd book into the series and 100% obsessed 🙌 this is a second chance and enemies to lovers and spice. Great story moving introducing characters. 👌 😍🔥🔥🌶
My favorite in the series so far. Best Friends to Lovers.
Hippolyta is a bad ass FMC. The second strongest in the pack next to King she is in charge of training all the wolves and in charge of security. The first female wolf to be born in the pack (though not the only). She’s tough and confident but kind, she’s serious about protecting her King, Queen and pack but is also a girl’s girl and knows how to have fun.
Cole is her former best friend and mate who broke her heart a century ago and rejected her. By the time he realized his mistake the pack had split into two with his half staying in Greece and her half going to America. They haven’t seen each other in over 100 years though he has written to her the entire time begging forgiveness but she has ignored him.
A trip back to Greece reunites them. Cole wastes no time trying to earn back his mate and his best friend. They have great chemistry and I love the he loves how strong and badass she is. He is never intimidated by her or upset about how strong and powerful she is. In fact, he’s turned on by how confident and strong she is and that his mate protects their King and Queen.
Again, great side characters. I love that everyone is family as loves each other and protects and supports each other.
The villains are annoying and dumb for never asking questions of their “leader” and Alex really needs to get over Selene.
