Akumi Agitogi is a Japanese writer and translator from Tokyo. She has published several works of fiction and non-fiction, including novels, short stories, essays, and translations of English literature into Japanese. Her works explore themes of identity, gender, and culture, and she has been praised for her lyrical and evocative writing style.
Kiyo is adorable and really, what did Kiyoka expect when Miyo is alone, presented with a child version of himself that she thinks is just serving his wishes and otherwise an object brought to life, and is barely holding on trying to use her own determination to find a way to save him from Usui? Really, it's adorable the way these two care for each other, and a great relief when Kiyo is able to remind Miyo she is not as alone as she feared. While Arata was still a bit of a wild card, it seems everyone else she knew in her circle was still firmly on their side and doing what they could to assist in the best possible outcome. It will be curious to see what a non-military Kiyoka is like and how Miyo continues to live with her Gifts now fully awakened, even if she doesn't intend to use them outside of training going forward.

This volume is the ending of Usui’s arc and I’m glad for it!
There were lots of cute moments between Miyo and Kiyo (Kiyoka’s familiar –who looks like a younger version of him) and though her fiancé was still captured, she never lost her resolution to rescue him, actually, it was a big change for her. I mean we already know she’s not a fired-up character. She’s been learning how to love herself and others, and when we look back, we clearly see she’s come a long way. So, every little step counts as her healing from a traumatic, abused life.
Usui, on the other hand, cannot comprehend why Sumi never wanted to marry him or use her power for her own benefit. She was just like Miyo: Sumi wanted an easy life, helping others while she could instead of controlling people.
Miyo has built up strong relationships and though her cousin kind of slipped away for a moment, he made it all better by fighting one-on-one against Usui, making sure he would not be able to hurt others again.
Now, what made me love this volume was the aftermath: once Miyo and Kiyoka reunite and profess their love to each other, they have a cute date and when they look back, they talk about how things were so different with their arranged marriage in the beginning, and how now they just want to be together, supporting and loving each other.
I cannot wait for the next volume, since I think it will be the one when we finally get to see their wedding!
This is one of the few series where I vastly prefer the anime to the source material if only because the translation of the light novels is pretty clunky at times, but JRJFKFKF HOW ARE THEY SOOO CUUUUUTE. Need the next volume asap

I had two major issues with this: 1. how Miyo's gift works 2. the end of the Usui arc.
First, Miyo getting control over her Dream Sight should've been given more space. I mean, one of the major aspects of this story over the last several volumes--arguably since the very first one--is seeing how Miyo develops. But in this volume, we're told that she trains and then BAM the next chapter she suddenly has control over her Dream Sight??? How?
Second, the whole Usui storyline ending I felt was a HUGE letdown. This story has been building up over the last several volumes and THIS is how it ends??? This was supposed to be the big climax of the whole story and it just felt like a melted popsicle. I think part of the reason was because we're told that Miyo could "see" what would happen, but we aren't told how or even how she's going to change the ending she "saw." I also think Like WHAT? I couldn't believe that Usui is either. I felt this was the easy way out instead of having to have the characters figure it all out.
Even the date that Kiyoka and Miyo go on at the end just felt blah. Especially the dialogue.
I probably will pick up the next one because it is THE volume we've been waiting for, but for me the story outside of Kiyoka and Miyo's love story has been subpar the last couple volumes. If the series continues, I don't see myself reading beyond the next one.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Self-esteem needs to be earned from the inside, because even though others can support, they can never make praise feel real unless it is founded in the belief in one’s own abilities. In the sixth volume of “My Happy Marriage” by Akumi Agotogi, Miyo is finally able to overcome the trauma of her childhood in the Saimori family and fight back against Naoshi Usui. She needs to learn how to believe in herself before she can access her Dream Sight abilities and for that Kiyoka allows himself to be separated from her for much of this book. He resists the urge simply to protect her and allows her the freedom to find her own way.
The book opens with Kiyoka in prison and Miyo deciding to save him by turning herself in to Usui. She is, however, stopped by a young boy who looks eerily like Kiyoka. He turns out to be a familiar that Kiyoka had created before his imprisonment so that he can help Miyo from the outside. Miyo gives the familiar the name, Kiyo, which is a diminutive of Kiyoka, and along the way she opens up to Kiyo in ways that she has not quite done with the grown version of the same man. This creates some awkward and touching scenes, because Miyo is unaware of the connection between Kiyo and Kiyoka, who can tap into his familiar’s sensations and feel what he is feeling. So Kiyo also becomes a way in which Miyo and Kiyoka can grow closer even though they are apart.
In the end the good prevail and the Miyo and Kiyoka can finally prepare for their long awaited wedding. This volume was more focused on the fight against Usui and Miyo’s own growth so it is nice that it ends just before the wedding with Miyo and Kiyoka simply enjoying their time together…
As the author calls it “the end of the usui arc”. This dragged a little for me, i think it could have been condensed with the last book. I think the first two books were expertly paced while v4-6 needed to be condensed into two. Miyo did a lot of sitting around and action could have been happening. Still love this series a lot and it is a refreshing read.
had to read this after reading volume 5 because it left off on a cliffhanger… this is probably more like a 3.5-3.75, but i still felt that vol 5 was setting up for this one! i called , but not . although i wish there had been better build-up of miyo coming into her dream sight powers (i feel like a lot of its development happens off-screen), i did feel satisfied by the end of this arc and the final chapter/epilogue of this volume made me happy. now it’s just time for them to get married! i’m literally going to put vol 7’s english release date on my calendar. i am intrigued to see if we’re actually going to get scenes from their happy marriage in vol 8, but i guess time will tell!
The Usai arc has finally ended! It was very good. This volume was very satisfying on Miyo's character development as she did everything through her own power alone. I did love Kiyoka using his familiar, Kiyo, to support Miyo as well to remind her of her allies. Of course, the long awaited confession of Miyo finally expressing her feelings for Kiyoka was very touching. I think we are all very much excited for book 7 to finally get the wedding and get the wholesome moments we thought we would have from the beginning. xDD Also, I am very interested to see what arc will be next. Because with Kiyoka going to be stepping down from military commander (and the military in-general), I wonder where the story will lead? I know there are 8 books and it's still on-going. I am excited to see!

Libro VI

This volume was definitely an upgrade from the last 2! However, it still fell short for me. I don’t want to give any spoilers but some things happened too quickly and too easily and they just didn’t feel right considering everything else that had been said earlier in the story. Miyo and Kiyoka’s conversations weren’t as sweet as I was hoping. They still sound as awkward with each other as they did shortly after they first met. Maybe it’s the translation but I just didn’t feel their chemistry. There really isn’t a need for another volume in my opinion. All that’s left is the wedding. But since I’ve read this far I’ll read the next - and hopefully last - volume too.
Volume 6 of 'My Happy Marriage' was the best one since the early volumes.
I admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of the Usui Arc, but I enjoy the way it came to a conclusion. This book has a bit of everything, including some lovely moments between our favorite couple. While some of the other novels seemed to drag, this was kept me turning the pages. Not to mention, we really see how far Miyo has come as a character.
I felt like Volume 6 returned to it roots, and I've already go Volume 7 queued up and ready to go!
“I had thought that being separated from each other for only a little while wouldn’t be any trouble at all. But it seems that I can no longer be without you.“ Bro stop being so goddamn adorable😭
Ahh the storyline with Kiyoka‘s familiar was adorable. Miyo would be a great mother!
„His hair had come undone at some point and was now hanging over his shoulders, as if to hide his blush.“ „Her fiancé, who was always cool, composed, and rarely ever agitated, wore the same faintly pink shade on his cheeks that Miyo did.“ Men who blush are my weak spot.
I am so invested in this story that I think I could keep reading it for years on end! My husband is also obsessed with it to the point that he is devouring any and all anime that stand a chance of having any similarities in subject matter :) We love the novels, the manga, and the anime and we are looking forward to seeing how the live-action movie turns out. We can't wait to read Volume 7!
The English translation is lacking, as it is throughout this series, but I still love this series. Both of the lead characters change in realistic ways as they get to know each other and face different challenges. I can’t wait to see what challenges they face as their relationship and family continues. Life doesn’t get easier once you are married, and Miyo and Kiyoka have potential to show how to weather hard times together.
I just love this story so much. The love that's blossomed the growing and character development. Even all the sadness and suspense. I just truly love this story and this one was again amazing. Now to impatiently wait for the next one!!
Kiyoka has been imprisoned, and Miyo takes it upon herself to rescue him by whatever means necessary. But when she arrives at military HQ, she comes face to face with a stunning young man...who looks exactly like Kiyoka. Claiming to be Kiyoka’s familiar, he takes Miyo back to the Usuba household where she decides to turn over a new leaf-by carving her own path to reuniting with Kiyoka.
can they pls get married and have their happy ending in the next volume. and yes thankyou miyo for saving your man and falling in love, you deserve it. every conversation with usui felt pointless (since the villain isn't supposed to be talked out of his grand scheme) and a bit of time wasting but it didn't stop me from enjoying the story much in the end.

Really enjoyable installment. I do feel like the climax of the arc came to a conclusion too quickly. I would've preferred a little more to the confrontation, but I'm looking forward to seeing how this story continues in the next installment.
The politics of this series is soooo bad, you can usually ignore it and focus on the romance, but this book really makes sure you go "huh that kind of sucks". But I do enjoy the characters so there's that.
Better than the fifth novel, but God it kinda sucks. The gifted communion was eliminated too easily. They sneaking into the building to free kiyoka was extremely unbelievable. Miyo, besides being a little functionally illiterate, was able to master dream sight after 3 days???
