Hate Me Not is book two of Alex and Delaney's duet and book two in the Badger Creek Duet Series. A two-part, angst-filled, enemies to lovers, forced proximity love story. Hate Me must be read before Hate Me Not in order to enjoy the full story.
After surviving an avalanche, Delaney Hayes thought the worst of it was over. Battered and bloody, she finds herself in the middle of nowhere. Terrified for her life, she has no idea that the one person she can’t stand will be the one to save her.
And then there’s Alex Cunningham. Clinging to Delaney as the avalanche struck, he’s determined to keep her safe even if it means surviving in the remote wilderness. His first and only thought is to find shelter even if the thought of being trapped with her is difficult to take.
But as the days turn into weeks, these two enemies must come to terms with their situation, finding comfort in each other when they need it most.
Hate Me left us on a ginormous cliffhanger! I devoured Hate Me Not to conclude Alex and Delaney’s story. The hilarious but vulnerable moments between Alex and Delaney left me in tears of laughter.
Stuck together after surviving a brush with death. Alex and Delaney are stuck in a cabin until help arrives or they can safely navigate a snow storm. Claire Raye illustrate every emotion and argument between Alex and Delaney so well, it feels, that you’re suffering from cabin fever too!
At the end of Hate Me, I was hopeful that Alex and Delaney will peel back their layers and share their burdens in Hate Me Not, and they do!!! Of course these secrets come with some sexy bartering. Broody Alex softens himself to Delaney and expresses his insecurities and his failures. Either it be naïveté or inexperience, Delaney comes clean about her unsuccessful first year away at college.
Despite their futures, dreams, and hopes they know one thing is certain after this ordeal, they’ll always have one another to confide in and a partner to experience life with.
I love this new series and characters Claire Raye has introduced us to. I’m impatiently awaiting for the rest of the Badger Creek characters to share their stories. You’ll also see some past characters from Hawthorn Hills too!
*ARC given from authors- review is of my own opinion*
..Not Claire already making me tear up at the first damn chapter :))) thanks for that.
All the fucking head & forehead kisses!!! pleeeeease This book was honestly so beautifully made, and I found it to be very realistic when Delaney in the beginning went off and snapped at Alex, needing to blame someone for the situation they were in, I’d say that’s a normal and realistic reaction to have when you're in a snowed in cabin, and having no clue what to do.
I loved how they constantly worked together, trying to find things to eat and drink, staying warm, making sure they’d survive. THE CHRISTMAS TREE! I also appreciated how they didn’t immediately jumped back to where they were before just because they were there, and alone in a cabin. They actually communicated and had conversation about everything and nothing, kind of felt like they restarted their friendship with some trust. They slowly started open up about themselves, Alex opening up about his mom and dad, and Delaney about her parents, and her ex.
These two are two broken people who felt like all was lost, but together they really formed something, and that something was truly beautiful. All their fights, make up’s, banter has been wonderful to read about, and I can’t wait to see what Claire has in store for us in the next two books with Ethan & Zoey <3
After how book one, Hate Me, ended I was DYING to know what was going to happen next and this book….I had anxiety after reading the first chapter.
The banter, the push and pull, the tension. All of it was hot. That alone could have easily generated enough heat to keep Alex and Delaney warm! I loved seeing their relationship progress from enemies to friends to more throughout their time together. Despite being in a pretty horrible situation together I think it was exactly what they need to work out everything.
At one point I was worried this story wasn’t going to end how I expected it to, but it is completely worth it in the end and it even made me a little bit emotional. There are also some surprise visitors that pop up and I loved that!
I can’t wait to return to Badger Creek with the next duet!
If you’re looking for a forced proximity, enemies to lovers romance this is one to check out…after reading book one!
Hate Me Not is the concluding chapter to Alex & Delaney's story, so there's no way around it, YOU MUST READ Hate Me (Book 1) FIRST. The very talented Claire Raye pushed us off a cliff in the first book, and now we're seeing the aftermath. Alex & Delaney get caught up in an avalanche, and have gotten to a very remote cabin to wait for help. They're also not getting along so now that they're in forced proximity maybe just maybe they have to work things out. There's a lot of fighting as the days turn into weeks waiting for help or for the weather to let up enough that they get somewhere themselves. I was on the edge of my seat turning pages so fast to see how it all panned out that I found myself having to backtrack a time or two. Will these two be able to work things out?! And more importantly, will they get rescued before things get any worse?! I'll never tell so you'll have to hit those one click buttons to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Wow!! So this book really kept you on your toes. This continues up after Alex and Delaney gets caught up in the avalanche and find a cabin to stay in until they are rescued. They find themselves learning about each other and that they really do belong to each other and learning all about each and themselves. This book does really grab ahold of all of your emotions and make you feel like you are right their with them. I mean could you imagine surviving an avalanche and then waiting weeks on a rescue in a cabin that's been abandoned for years. That can really bring you closer to someone. I can't wait to read more of this series and learn more about others characters and see more of Alex and Delaney. I highly recommend this book!
Hate Me Not is the second book to Alex and Delaney's story, and picks up where book one ended. I loved reading and following them as they try to survive not only the avalanche, but each other. I enjoyed their continued banter, and the emotions as they go from enemies to friends. I look forward to reading more from this series.
Such a good ending! The way this book started was a stresser. As it progressed you got to see and feel the challenges they faced while in their situation and with eachother. I loved this story. I really felt for Delaney and Alex and how they connected.
I enjoyed the growth of the characters and the setting was perfect for them to establish the next step of their relationship. I was a little over all of the early forehead kisses.
Book #2 in the Badger Creek Series and the follow up to Alex and Delaney’s duet. You do have to read book one before you read this.
This picks up right where book one left off. Alex and Delaney have survived the avalanche much to their surprise, now they must find shelter if have any hope of surviving. They do stumble across an abandon hunting cabin and are able to get into it. They immediately start trying to get a fire going to warm up, then are taking stock of what they have and what they might be able to find in the cabin. They are still at odds with each other from the fall out they had before the avalanche over their relationship. This makes for lots of arguing and finger pointing for fault in there current predicament. They eventually realize that arguing gets them nowhere and they both know fear is playing a big part in it as well. With nothing to do but survive and hope someone finds them soon, Alex and Delaney get closer and start to bond over the secrets of their past. They both end up being more alike then they thought possible.
I really liked getting to see Alex and Delaney resolve their issues and end up with a HEA. I hate that it had to come down to a life or death situation but their love for each other over the time they were stranded in the snow grew exponentially! Alex was always set in his playboy ways due to a past he wasn’t ready to face and Delaney was hesitant to get in too deep after her last heartbreak. With literally no one else in the world, they only have each other to rely on and the bond they form is indestructible. There were SO MANY emotions in this book. I felt them all and I felt they were accurately portrayed to how I would think a person going through something like that would feel. I loved Alex’s vulnerable sweet side that he only ever showed Delaney and how he would hesitate to give her the world. I loved how Delaney was able to make Alex see there’s always a different side to every story, that all people grieve differently and also help him reestablish the important connections in his life. This was a great conclusion to this duet.
With how book one’s cliffhanger left off, I knew that we would be met with drama and excitement right from the start of Hate Me Not, and did we ever! This book starts intense right from chapter one, my heart broke for these two and I could feel the stress right along with them.
I loved Alex and Delaney in Hate Me, but I was just blown away by them even more in this book! I enjoyed getting to see the more vulnerable side of them both, but also the strength they both had. They have this intense connection and pull for one another, something neither of them truly knew what to do about, but throughout the book this was amplified which made for a fantastic story! Alex and Delaney make a wonderful pair, and just might be exactly what the other needs.
I love when Alex’s true personality shines through, so sweet, vulnerable and swoony but still holding something back. Both are hiding things that may just keep them from being all in with a relationship. The strength and care we see from Delaney was beautiful, I loved reading as they both worked together to overcame everything that was thrown at them, especially the moments of raw emotion they displayed.
Being in this situation forces them to deal with what happened between them, but will it be enough? What will the outcome of all the tender moments and talking be and can their survival partnership last and even turn into more?
I couldn’t put this one down. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, (and loved it!) with each new obstacle they faced, the arguments, the banter, the flirting, the sweet moments and the chemistry!
With all the emotion this book puts you through, it had the great addition of laughs that had me smilingly and chuckling all while pulling at my heart strings.
I am looking forward to heading back to Badger Creek as the series continues, and maybe even a few more surprise cameos! I highly recommend this duet!

Hate Me Not is book two of the Alex and Delaney story and it is full of angst, emotions, banter, tension and sexual innuendos that had me unable to put the book down. Ms. Raye did an exceptional job of showing us just how vulnerable both Alex and Laney were and how they helped one another deal with the conflicts within regarding their families.
Alex and Laney, at the end of Hate Me, were involved in an avalanche and talk about a cliffhanger. Now we find them in an abandoned cabin with next to little to survive. This forced proximity had them angry and yelling at one another but at the same time coming to terms with their feelings towards one another. The term cabin fever definitely describes what these two went through. You should feel the tension between them and the struggles that they were dealing with. As they waited for the storm to stop and hopefully a rescue team to find them, they shared secrets that showed a different side of them, a more vulnerable side. However, the secrets did not come without some deals that included sexual haggling happening between them. We see Alex showing his alpha side when needed however he also had a soft and caring side that was sweet to see. Laney was the one that was the one that had Alex seeing that there are always two sides to every story and that maybe things were not as they seemed. I loved how she brought out the softer side of Alex, but that also worked both ways. Laney was very closed off about why she was unable to compete in her first year at college and Alex helped her see that she was not a failure but has so much to offer.
Ms. Raye did a wonderful job at having me feel all sorts of emotions while reading Hate Me Not. Her writing and storyline were outstanding and gripping as well as relatable. I recommend picking up Hate Me and Hate Me Not as well as making sure you have enough time to binge both books.
Hate Me Not picked up right where Hate Me: Alex & Delaney #1 left off. That cliff-hanger was brutal but thankfully the wait wasn't that long.
Alex and Delaney have survived the avalanche against impossible odds but that doesn't mean anything unless they find shelter and figure out a way to stay alive. Thankfully, they come across an abandoned hunting cabin and take shelter. Things between them are rocky but in order to survive they need to work together and deal with their issues until help arrives.
Their banter was on point once again and their chemistry unquestionable, but I loved the fact that even under these circumstances they took small steps, gotten to know each other and open up. Coming clean about their histories and helping each other deal with their past and hopefully move on. This story was full of cheeky moment, heartfelt moments, touch and scary moments but they pulled through and survived. They opened up and accepted their feelings. By the end, things turn really scary but never doubt the incredible author duo.
I found that Delaney was a different kind of Claire Raye heroine. While she was a badass through and through, I felt like she was able to be more vulnerable from the start and it didn't take away any of her strength or independence. As for Alex, he show a softer side, and leaned on Delaney which is something I don't he's ever done before. They both seemed to grow in front of my eyes and I was cheering them the whole way.
Can't wait for the next book in the series because I'm intrigued now and I need to sink my teeth into Ethan. Pun very much intended.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on the sequel to this story as the ending of the first book left me in awe. To be honest I didn't expect that I could love the characters as much as I did with this story, the way they connect and are vulnerable with each other. The development of the story had a good rhythm, you never felt the chapters and the situation they find themselves in leaves you wondering what is going to happen. The vulnerability and compassion of the characters makes you feel what they are feeling and you are moved. I'm very happy with the way the book ends and I certainly can't wait to read the stories of the other characters in this series as they promise to be just as exciting as this one. Thanks to the author and Grays promotion for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely LOVE Alex & Delaney. Once again my all of my heart strings were pulled during their story. As always the banter between them was SO good, this time of course filled with a bit of anger as in book one, they were fighting. Now as they realize they are going to have to work together not only to survive the avalanche but one another as well. I was on the edge of my seat reading this the whole time, the way it was written almost made you feel like you were there right along with them. It was also so nice to see the development of their feelings change, and watch them open up to one another, trust and go through all of the emotions that go with it..and dare I say fall in love? No matter what they did not give up on one another. This is one duet that will definitely be a forever favorite of mine.

“Having had and lost her once, I can categorically say that is not something I want to go through again. So this time, I’m going to win her back and I’m going to do it properly, so I never have to lose her again.” 🎿 Review: Hate Me Not: Alex & Delaney by Claire Raye. Badger Creek Duet, book 2. ⛷ This review will be a hard one to do it, because I don’t want to give spoilers. But here I go… things pick up right where they were left off in Hate Me, in the aftermath of an avalanche, where Delaney and Alex were in the middle of. Without surprises, of course, they both (miraculous) survive hehe. However their conditions are not easy, at all.
The first chapters in Hate Me Not tried my sanity, my heartbeat went through the roof with their path to survival. Gosh, I seriously wasn’t born to go through this. 😂 being stuck together in a precarious cabin wasn’t where they both thought they would be, but their forced proximity worked to their emotional benefit.
There, brushing death away, Alex and Delaney had to face their differences and explore their vulnerabilities. So much happened in their past that none of them were aware of and now it was time to let it go. It was emotional but rewarding their evolution from enemies to friends to lovers, all happening in that small cabin. It didn’t hurt allll the steamy it had.
Many crazy and dangerous things happened in this duet, and at some point there I was really afraid that Claire and Raye would try to innovate and not give us a happy ending, talk about angst! But as usual, they mend my heart in all the right ways and made me fall in love with this Badger Creek crew. I’m so excited to read the following duets!
This is book two in The Badger Creek Duet and it continues Alex and Delaney's story and omg it is definitely a must read but remember that it is not a standalone book and you will need to read book one Hate Me first to get all the background history. When a avalanche struck and reading for there lives Alex and Delaney will have to work together to get to safety and survive and they end up staying in a cabin while waiting to be rescued but as time passes they learn to lean on each other and start communicating in a way that not only let's them become closer but also talk about there fears and be vulnerable with each other causing them to get a strong connection and begin to trust each other. I loved watching them grow together from enemies to friend's and lovers with a chemistry that is so strong and intense that you can feel it leaping of the pages and they are so perfect for each other but will they realise this before it is too late. This story takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and you feel every single one as if you are there living through it with them and it kept you on the edge of your seat and holding your breath wondering what would happen next and what the outcome would be for them. Claire Raye is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and the depth of her story's are what makes you want to go back to read more of her book's and you will definitely not be disappointed.
Book 2 with Alex and Delaney picks up from that huge cliffy we were left with in book1. Despite trying to hang on to each other, Alex and Delaney are seperated by the force of a huge avalanche. Alex manages to dig his way out and find Delaney. Wet and cold they need to find shelter and come across an old cabin, which they find has cans of food (albeit 2yrs plus old) and a wood burning stove. With the snow still coming down and in a very remote, not well known area, knowing rescue could take days, weeks or longer they come together, warm each other up and plan how to manage the limited supply of food.
It's not long before the connection they had when they first met over takes the events from book 1 and Alex and Delaney start sharing who they are, learning about each other and develop a closeness that neither imagined they could have. The road they are forced to walk their journey on, gives them the time and space alone to allow their relationship to develop and bloom into something special. The journey Alex and Delaney take is not only one of survival but one which has many sweet and steamy moments, as well as more than a few giggles and tears. I would have prefered either a slightly longer ending or an epilogue as it seemed to end a bit too soon.
After having reached the end of Hate Me I instantly started looking forward to more! I wanted to know what was going to happen next in this story. I picked up this second installment as soon as i could and got right back into the Badger Creek world! I so enjoyed this second book!
Alex and Delaney's journey continues! I was so glad to be back with these two! Once again, i was pulled in so very quickly. I was on the edge of my seat with my heart racing to see how everything was going to play out with these two!
I didn't know what all was going to happen next with Alex and Delaney. I really liked getting more of these characters and getting to see how they would tackle everything, especially the situation they were in and their feelings. I loved how their story had me feeling so many things, from the beginning of book one all the way to the end of book two!
It was great being back in the Badger Creek world! I could once again picture it all clearly.
With Hate Me Not, The Claire Raye duo have created such a good read that had me glued to my kindle and feeling so dang much! I can't wait for more from this duo! I am so looking forward to the next installment, Release Me! 💗
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Grey's Promotions / the authors*
The ending in the first book left me reeling, so getting into book two was so emotional.
Okay so, Laney and Alex find themselves trapped in a cabin, (after the events in the last chapter of the first book), with no way of knowing where they are or how long it's been they have to depend on each other to survive.
The way these two had to put their differences aside so that they could be each other's strengths during the time that they were trapped was everything.
Being in the situation they were in gave them the chance to realize that they are actually good together and I was all here for it.
I'm a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope because when they finally stop the whole oh he's bad or she's a pain in the behind "act" they find their forever people and that's all that matters.
OMG and did I not cry when they finally got rescued.
These two have gained a place in my heart forever.
Thank you to Grey's Promotions and Claire Raye for the ARC.

“No, I told you,” I say, brushing my lips against hers. “My sweet side is only for you.”

After that cliffhanger, I was glad book two picked up right where book one left off.
Alex and Delaney’s relationship wasn’t in the greatest spot when the avalanche hit. In fact, they both would’ve each other’s last choice of who to be stranded with. But then they both had to actually face the fact that they were stranded in an abandoned cabin, and they needed to rely on each other for survival. Alex had to convince Delaney to trust him again, and Delaney had to be open to the possibility that Alex was being genuine. I loved this book, and Alex and Delaney’s journey. Alex definitely won me over in this book, and it was great to see him win Delaney over. Great conclusion to this duet - can’t wait to read Ethan and Zoey’s story!
I highly recommend this book!! ~ By Tina
A beautifully crafted tale of survival and second chances.
Alex and Delaney were certainly put through the wringer in this book. Surviving an avalanche is no small feat, especially when you have no idea where you are and you are both battered.
Having no idea how long they will be stranded, they find comfort in one another, learning each other's secrets, sharing painful memories, and divulging their truths. Their chemistry was still sizzling, their banter still hilarious, their feelings strong and definitely mutual. The only questions that remain are: will they ever be found? how will their relationship fare if they are rescued?
Grab this book to find out how these enemies turn into lovers and what the mountain has in store for them.
Well, I’m not even sure we’ve emotionally recovered from the ending of the first book so I couldn’t put it down because I had to know what happened. By some miracle, Alex and Delaney survive the avalanche and are just trying to survive in the wilderness. Many times throughout this book I was terrified that the authors were going to kill one of them off and I wouldn’t recover from that loss. So not only did I have to ensure no one died, these characters go through emotional turmoil while unpacking all their trauma and being uncomfortable with have to address all the things that went wrong in the weeks leading up to the avalanche. Lots of feelings around love, forgiveness and empathy all set in a life or death situation. I can’t wait to see these characters again as the series continues!
The conclusion to Alex and Delaney’s story was so good. The majority of the book was spent in the wilderness trying to survive after the avalanche came crashing down on them at the end of the first book.
I loved the survival scenes, gave me some nice Hatchet flashbacks from middle school and I throughly enjoyed that. Alex and Delaney are stranded in a cabin, where they continue to adapt to their situation for who knows how long. During this time, they reconnect, and really start to realize the extent of their feelings. However, they are still stranded and placed in a life or death situation, so there are still a ton of twists and turns as you finish their story!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the 2nd book in the Alex and Delaney Duet of the Badger Creek series. Tragedy has struck Alex and Delaney. Their worst fears come alive. They have lost their beacon. The only way rescuers can locate them. After their rocky start, they have to work out their differences and figure out a way to work together in order to survive. Wow, I loved this book! And so glad we didn't have to wait long for the conclusion to Alex and Delaney's story. Can't wait for more from this series.
After reading book one and it being left on a cliffhanger I was unsure how book 2 would match up. However wow this book really gave me everything and more. Alex and Delaney face a life changing challenge and have to work together to survive. I love how this book shows the inner demons both are battling and their changing relationship. Going from being idiotic and childish to talking through issues and explaining their own feelings and past.
The book develops beautifully and you fall in love with the characters. I loved this book. I will definitely be reading more books from this author.
This is the 2nd part in Alex and Delaney’s duet. Alex and Delaney survive the avalanche, and when Alex comes to Delaney’s rescue they are forced to stay together in a cabin until they are rescued. The connection between these two is intense, but can they move on from enemies / lovers? This is a well written story with survival, angst, humor, witty banter, emotions, secrets, insecurities, truths, tension, and love, which leads to as steamy and riveting page turner. I received a free copy of this book via Greys Promotions and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The ending of the first book left me gutted. There were already issues between Alex and Delaney but then disaster strikes. To survive it, they needed to work together and get over their issues pretty quick. I’m not glad that they are in the situation they are in but at least they have each other and that they worked things out.
