A second chance at love for a wealthy socialite and her bad boy ex.
After having her heart broken nine years ago, Monica Connor has no interest in marriage. She’s busy living her best life and building a following as a social media influencer. When a wealthy businessman contracts her to promote the opening of his new lounge, she’s excited for her most lucrative deal yet. Then she learns she has to work with someone else on the project—Andre Campos, her first love—the owner’s future son-in-law.
Andre is engaged to marry the daughter of the man who gave him a chance when no one else would, but seeing Monica causes old feelings to resurface and calls his plans into question. Being with Monica means losing everything he’s worked hard for years to attain. But he can’t stop thinking about her, and soon they surrender to the fiery passion that neither can deny.

We’re supposed to believe that Monica and Andre had this great romance in college? I don’t see it. At all. And the plot with the marijuana was simple and stupid. As hell. And the stalker personal assistant. I saw it coming but was hoping I was wrong. Why? Why? Whyyyyy???!??? Monica and Andre are both so dumb at their big age. I disliked the main characters so much. Give me Papa Ben and Rose’s story. They’re more interesting.
So far the Connor siblings have shown that they are not my kind of people. Not sure if I want to continue with this series.
Light and fun read. DD has a way of turning horrible characters into lovable ones in the end. At first, I disliked Andre. The way he cheated on a woman who he was engaged to. A woman whose family invested in him- nah. Wanted to stop reading at that point, but I decided to push trough. I’m glad I did. Ended up liking him. Monica was a delightful character. A free spirit. Love when black women are from wealthy homes. It doesn’t always have to be trauma, trauma, trauma. I definitely like the spoilt rich heiress trope 😊
Delaney knows she can write her tail off. I enjoyed this more than Ethan and I really liked Ethan. I wanted Andre to listen to that sixth sense and stop brushing off weird stuff cause BOYYY you shoulda seen Monica’s assistant coming from miles away, cuz! I also really love a second chance romance so this was a perfect Sunday afternoon read.

Monica, by Delaney Diamond is the continuation of the Family Ties series. Monica Connor is a social media influencer. Between promoting brands and investments, she does well. Andre Campos works for his future father-in-law’s company, Chamber enterprises. He worked his way up the company and is now a silent partner. Nine years ago, Monica and Andre were college sweethearts. They thought forever together would never be enough. Unfortunately, that was not meant to be. She’s entered into a contract to promote Chamber enterprises’ new restaurant, and Andre is running point. His breathing temporarily halts when he sees Monica’s pretty chestnut eyes and high cheekbones. When they shake hands, it sends a bolt of energy through them. The pages of the book sizzle each time Monica and Andre are working on the project together. Her body remembers the intimacy they shared. She was his sunshine and when the term of endearment rolls off his tongue so easily, he knows he is in trouble. Feelings come rushing back with a passion filled kiss. The description of this scene, and each physical scene, is a build-up of what’s to come. These two are just hot together. I love the second chance romance with this sexy couple, and I highly recommend it. See complete review at romanceincolor.com
Monica had become a powerhouse online. She had an opportunity to take her to another level possibly. She would know soon enough when she met with the Chambers group. Andre didn't normally meet with clients but his partner had assigned that task to him today. Imagine the shock to Andre when Monica walked in. Monica almost hyperventilate upon seeing Andre. They had been lovers in college. Tragedy had caused Andre to get expelled. What will happen between these two now after so much time has passed. Is forgiveness a possibility after so many mistakes? Great read with heat and promise.
Engaging read, as customarily written by this author. She writes my kind of second chance romance! Trust is the message that arose for me. "Monica and Andre" had destined love but, it grew with trust. "Ethan" taught a beneficial lesson, when he told "Andre" that losing his job along with "Belinda", "Andre" had learned valuable business lessons during that time.
I hope the interaction between "Rose and Benicio" was an indicator of these characters speaking to the author! 🤔😉
Recommended by a fellow reader - I took this one on. It isn't something I would normally read but I enjoyed the story and their relationship conceptually. I appreciate some of the realism of a few scenes but I would have liked more depth in the character development and the connection since I am all about details. But that is just me. Well written. Thanks for this story!
If you were expecting spoilers I don't do that so sorry to disappoint. Give it a read and make your own review. No cheating.
I thought this was just an OK read. The character development was good and Monica's story was OK but the storyline with Daisy was predictable! I also thought there wasn't enough about Benicio and Rose to make their upcoming vacation a true cliffhanger nor to tie up what really happened. I hope there is more to come with them. Overall I thought book 1 in this series about Ethan was better than this one about Monica but I will continue to read whatever is next by this author.
A very special story of love and redemption. The family ethos....resilience....love...forgiveness...... Loyalty..... and yes, redemption!! I have to reread to again dwell in this fictitious world of Monica and Andre.A lesson in character discernment, belief hat indeed most things are truly not what they may seem at first. A lesson in trusting hour gut instinct s and not dismissing your gut feelings! Another treasure from one of the best, Delaney Diamond! You Rock!
To the storyline with the earrings on the cover of the book hence forth the cliche don't judge a book by its cover...Great read loved the storyline and the plot the characters were very well developed and I know there has to be more because soo much was left unresolved with much anticipation of two weddings and a possible reconciliation this I have to see great work mz.Delaney👏👍😘😍😆😀😁😄😅😂😉😏😊😎🙋💃🏾💓💗💞💘😈
Overall, I enjoyed book 2 of the Family Series. I loved Andre and his determination to have a better life and to help his Mom. I was happy he wasn't too stubborn and accepted help when it came his way to fulfill his dream. While I did like the Monica character, there were times when she did annoy me. She seemed too immature and self-centered to be with Andre at times, even though they were the same age.
"Andre is engaged to marry the daughter of the man who gave him a chance when no one else would, but seeing Monica causes old feelings to resurface and calls his plans into question" When questioned whether or not they could work together, both said yes. Lies, lies, lies!!! Let the second chance romance begin! well written story with a great pace. Onto Audra ... Very excited about that one .
This book was so good and had me all in my feelings. The chemistry between Andre and Monica was sizzling. To love someone enough to loss everything is so deep. When they learn to trust and admit their love for one another makes the story even more profound. Kudos to Delaney Diamond on another amazing story.
Monica and Andre’s story was an easy read. Love the intertwining of characters from previous storyline. Like the strong family dynamic between all the characters, even Belinda and Andre. Also the attention to education is commendable. Ms.Diamond’s stories are always inspiring. Deserving of 5 ⭐️s.
With true love, one has to open their heart to it. If Monica didn't do this, she would never experience wholesome mind blowing love. She found her true love while in college, Andre. Unfortunate circumstances made them part. After nine years, they met again, realizing that the love they had found in college was still present. Love matters.
She was trepidiciius of ever finding neither wanting love after her harsh breakup in college. After coming in contact with the man who broke her heart and finding out he had a fiancé, our heroine is determined to do her best at being a social influencer and he was determined to stay away from her, yet true love called!💚🦋
This book right here was really hot and steamy!!!! Monica was really working my nerves on how much she was going to believe her assistant… There were lots of lessons to be learned in this book!!!Great read!!
A blended family - true love - strong family ties and respect for one another. A rags to riches inlay on both sides. The type of book you can’t put down. True love and happiness.
I like this book, will keep it in my collection. Andrea was determined to make his dream come true, he never gave up on his mother, and although he to the rap for Monica , he loved her, and she wouldn't let his dream die.
I really enjoyed Monica and Andre’s story. I hate to give anything away, you have to read it for yourselves! Lol I can’t wait to see what’s next in Audra’s story! Hope to find out more about Rose and Benicia too!
It's nice when the second chances are present, but most of all it's amazing when that second chance comes to fruition. Loved it from beginning to end. Great Read! ReneeG
This was a beautiful second chance love story. Both the H and h spent years apart, but quickly realize the love was stronger than ever after reconnecting. ♥️
This was a pretty easy read. The storyline was pretty predictable, from Andre and Monica getting together to Daisy being a stalker. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I’m excited to read Audra’s next.
