A page away from its predecessor, Rosemary’s arrest with the evidence and Azbogah’s publicly healing of her injuries gets this repetitive piece started. Put in a ‘special’ portion of the jail, Rosemary refuses to change her story much to Azbogah’s chagrin.
Levi’s on board to rescue his exhausting mate who insists on a tag-along and arguing for her mom’s anything but can’t figure out why there’s a time issue. Even more clues are dropped about her parent’s past; Azbogah reworks his plan and flexes his power. No surprise as Rosemary stays in her pretty and not smart lane and Azbogah stays in his opposite one. The witches step up and give the wolves a rest and the demons are ready to make their move.
Aargh! To this reader’s taste, Rosemary was a weakish secondary character and struggles under the weight of carrying a piece of a trilogy of trilogies. Azbogah, the villain in all three trilogies, is constantly thwarted but not defeated makes this all so much circular reasoning.

A jailbreak with an extra escapee as well as a chase with witches galore on their trail. A few more clues to the mystery of why Rosemary's mother is being framed. Lots of action in this one.

All right this is also three stars for me.
Look, I love Jen’s books, but the whole half of this book was Rosemary escaping from Shadow City prison, and then getting ready for a demon war with so much talking and no action.
This felt like filler, and not much happened. I will be going on to the last book in this series and the next one to finish out this world, but this is my least favorite book in the series. Half of this book could be cut back, and you still wouldn’t not miss anything.
The first two books were strong, but this one fell off a bit.

If you thought Shadow City was a dumpster fire before you haven't seen anything yet. Dark Prince is the third book in the Shadow City: Dark Angel series and the twelfth book in the Shadow City Universe and it was freaking awesome. This is the book I've been waiting for.
The more things change the more they stay the same. Rosemary has grown so much since cementing her bond with Levi. Not only is she experiencing a whole world of emotions but she is finally understanding and connecting more to those who aren't angels. It's helping her to see things from another perspective and has her doing some introspection. However, no matter how much she grows she's still the same old Rosemary at heart. She's a warrior, has a strong moral compass, and still doesn't understand colloquialisms, which is a small source of hilarity.
It's been real interesting getting to know the demons. While I didn't like Levi at first, I can admit that he is making improvements and it shows in this book. With Rosemary's help, Levi is learning what it means to be someone's equal partner in a relationship and how to communicate. Levi's father Bune is great, he doesn't even have the same attitude as his son did when he first appeared but Zagan on the other hand very much feels like Levi and I just wanna hit him in the face but he could be worse.
hintiThis mash-up family just keeps getting bigger and while they don't always see eye to eye they do have each other's back. I love the overall group but it's the core of the originals (Sterlyn and the gang) that I truly love. This is the book, things come full circle and a lot of plot points in precious books pay off. A lot of answers were finally revealed including what happened to the demons way back in the day, and what was the event that kicked off everything. A very rich and detailed past was revealed and it was shocking and complicated but somehow made perfect sense. Plus I had a theory about Rosemary for a while and Jen was hinting at something major and I can't wait to see how that's gonna play out.
Jen hit it out of the park with Dark Prince. Shadow City is always exciting with all sorts of plots, attacks, and political upheaval going on but Jen really increased the drama in this one. Things aren't looking so good for the Shadow City residents and the story ended on a very intense moment. Rosemary's story will be wrapping up in Fatal Secrets, the fourth and final book in Shadow City: Dark Angel.

Finally got my hands on this one! And with the last cliffhanger, I couldn't wait to see how things turned out. So this story picks up immediately where the last one ended. Rosemary is cornered by her fellow angels and caught in possession with demon artifacts. Artifacts she found in her family home and knows that must have been planted there. Her only hope was to get them out before her mother was blamed. But she was too late. Now she takes the blame, knowing that it will cost her but her mother's position on the council is too important. Especially when the Princes of Hell are on their way and Azbogah has been up to no good. She'll have to wait until her friends, and her mate, Levi, come for her. However, Levi is currently in Hell on a rescue mission. Though the first thing he does in connect with Rosemary when he returns. Now it will be up to him to convince her that her best shot is to escape and not wait for her name to be cleared. Not with everything going on. Loved this one! Filled with action and so many truths have finally come to light. The story was go, go, go from page one! And with another cliffhanger at the end of this book, I can't wait to get my hands on the final book of Rosemary and Levi's story! You will not want to miss this one! All our characters have come so far and have grown so much. And there is a war on the horizon. One, that will take everything they've got to win.

Rosemary, Levi, and the others are back again and boy does this book pack a punch. Picking where the last left off Rosemary trying to escape being caught with the artifacts, she makes the choice to turn herself in, and from there this story takes off. From one page to the next you find out more and more, but before the truth can come to light each lie must be uncovered. Will Rosemary be able to handle what really happened in the past? Will her and Levi be able to make everyone see the truth? What will happen when the demons bring the war to Shadow City? Another amazing addition to this series and with each book you find out more and more. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat with all the emotions, twist, turns, action and so much more you won't be able to put it down, but with an ending that will keep you coming back. I totally love this series and the characters and so can't wait to read what she has next.

Brilliant
Another great read in this series Rosemary an angel and her preordained mate Levi a demon are constantly finding themselves in one battle or another. He needed to go back to hell to save Eliza the witch and bring her back whilst he is away she finds herself in trouble and ends up in prison, she is rescued although not without issues. Then she and her unlikely group of friends find out the truth about the fallen angels and demons and Azbogah's role in it all and why now the demons are starting a war. We leave this book on the brink of war between Angels and Demons and the truth coming out about Azbagah's role in it all.

The series continues on with Rosemary and Levi's story. Their battles and challenges persist, especially when Levi's mission takes him to save a witch from hell, leaving Rosemary to deal with her own troubles, including a stint in prison. Alongside their friends, they uncover truths about fallen angels, demons, and the impending war between them, all while Azbogah's role becomes clearer.
However, this book had its ups and downs. The prison escape and war preparations dominated, with more dialogue than action. Also, the frequent "danger" or "cliffhanger" endings became a bit excessive, disrupting the flow.

REPETITIVE…lots of regurgitation from previous 2 books and other 3 series…every single characters back story is reiterated every time they come in scenes. Hell even events that happened in previous Rosemary’s books are regurgitated…this book only has about 40% plot movement..60% retell. First trilogy series in this verse was nice and refreshing, but by this point story is dragging out too long…now if there was some serious spice I could overlook the lack of plot movement…This feels like a filler book, thankfully this was a KU book.

We seem to actually be getting somewhere. One of my big issues with the Shadow City books is the exaggerated feminism. In my eyes you have equal rights for women and then there's rampant feminism to the point of it being ridiculous and that is the case repeatedly in these books. Also, why, oh why can this author not permit secondary couples finding their mates? It would make these stories so much better! For now I'm really hoping the next book ends up being a step towards resolution.

Another good story. Levi broke Rosemary out of prison. As mates they were away from each other for 3 days too long.
There were so many obstacles in the way just trying to get to a safe place.
They finally got there and spent some well needed alone time.
Levi's father filled everyone in on the history of how the angels fell to hell. Rosemary is shocked. Abzagoth is the reason for all of it. And I have a feeling he's her father.
End of the book has all the demons getting out of hell to war with the angels on Earth. Thousands of them....

I have no words as to the intensity of this story line and these characters in the ENTIRE Shadow City collection. I started at the beginning and this is so much more than I ever could have anticipated…. You seriously are gonna miss out on one phenomenal collection if you don’t read these , I will be rereading this whole collection again in the future and now I’m going on to book 4 because everything just got REAL and I’m wasting time not reading….get the collection!!!

You have jail breaks, close calls and the start of a war in this book. It is so awesome! The whole gang ends up going back to the City to warn the angels that the demons are coming. Azbogah is up to his tricks trying to get Rosemary killed for coming back. Others start to question him when Rosemary starts to tell them the part of the story Azbogah left out. I can’t wait to see what happens next! This whole story arc keeps you guessing as to what will happen next.

Levi is in hell, and Rosemary is in jail. This is fine.... Nothing could go wrong. And it will be easy to get out of all this right?.... Dark Prince is pretty action packed from chapter one, leaving not much breathing room. Which makes me glad there is a fourth book. The truth is starting to come to light finally and Rosemary gets to be heard. We did end on a cliffhanger though, so there's nothing to do but wait.

Wow this build has been absolutely exceptional!! I love watching how Rosemary is growing in her relationship with Levi and also standing up for herself.
It's really been interesting to see how everything has been piecing together for what will be the final showdown in the next book I do feel that the story line did drag and was almost repetitive in some parts, but the world building has been so creative and pieces together so intricately.

Absolutely Incredible Read!
Non-stop action in this one. Rosemary is in jail for the theft of artifacts that was planted for her mother to take the fall. We find so much new information about the demons and how they came into existence and the demon wolf's. It is an amazing read and I am dying to get my hands on the next one as the demons come to attack Shadow City.

Wow. I’ve been waiting for the secrets of shadow city to come out and this book did not disappoint! Although Jen guys are kind of foreshadowing in her books, there were some revelations that we’re just surprising and I loved it.
Per usual it ends on a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to read the next book!
Sidenote: I know sneaked is a word, but for some reason, it just looks wrong and kept throwing me off. I would have to mentally change it snuck every time. 😅

Amazing
I love this series, I really do, but the constant info dump about past books is a bit annoying and it takes me out of the story. I do get it though, its a lot to navigate with a series this big. I find myself skipping most of it. It'd be easier for me if I wasn't binge reading the series too so I can give a bit of grace in that respect. Love Rosemary and Levi and I can't wait to see Azbough get his comeuppance!

Rosemary rocks my socks!
Dark Prince gets even more interesting!! Twist after twist! This series is my favorite from all so far and i cant get enough of my girl rosemary. She’s just bad @ss. Nobody is like her and i love everything she does and says. Cant wait for the finale! Bring it.

Exciting!
The excitement continues, every step of the way this multiverse has been gripping, but this series has been the best so far because the secrets are coming out of the woodwork. Rosemary's story has been by far the most exciting with more answers from all directions. I can't wait for the next installment!!

Amazing
Another amazing read by Jen L Grey. Rosemary and Levi story is one for the hearts. The situation and obstacles these two have had to endure is enough to break my heart. I do hope they get there happy ending soon. Looking forward to reading the final book to see what happens.

As always this author makes us fall in love
As always this author is an amazing writer and storyteller. Always leaves us wanting more and more of her stories. Rosemary's story will leave you knowing that things are not as simple as they seem. Good versus evil may not be as clear as one might think.

A Lot of What Ifs….
So many things happening, so many questions, and so many theories. Why do I feel like Rosemary and Azbogah have a “stronger” connection than I or she’d like. 😒 Guess secrets will be revealed in the final book, hence the title. Can’t wait to see Azbogah go down! I hope. 😂

Hold on to your hats everyone
Best book of the series so far. So many secrets are revealed and all you want to do is to continue reading. You will stay up all night trying to find out what will happen at the end.
Rosemary’s growth in this book is amazing as is Levi’s.
Jen Grey has a way of writing that you feel like you are in the story!

Love the Shadow City series. Love reading about Sterlyn, Griffin, Killian, Sierra, Rosemary, Syrus, Ronnie, Alex, Annie and Levi. Silver Wolf the first in the series the 2nd in the series Royal Vampire ,the third set in the series Demon Wolf, and now to the last in the Shadow City series The Dark Angel. this is another great book.

I was so Right!!!!!!
Ugh I don’t know what I’ll do when I finish all of these stories. The love and friendship between all of them is priceless. Sierra’s personality is hilarious. Killian needs to find a Mate. The Witches came together to help. On to the last story #4. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊

Blown away
I am blown away by reveals in this one! Lots of action and steam, but the twist to the story is excellent. Rosemary and Levi burn the sheets and have issues to work out. Ready for the conclusion, no doubt.
