Inspired by her own true story, author Erin Spencer explores what happens when you get everything you never knew you always wanted.

I wasn’t looking for love. Putting down roots in this small, southern town was the last thing on my mind.

Ben changed all that with his kind nature and gentle ways. Somehow, he painted over the cracks on the canvas of my heart. Never did I feel more alive than with my arms around his waist on the back of his motorcycle and my hair blowing in the wind.

But, I was a nobody. To his family of wealth and privilege, I wasn’t worthy of him. And they were willing to do whatever it took to drive us apart.

Longing to stay by his side, I never wanted that summer to end. Yet, sometimes, true heartache molds us into who we were always meant to be…

5 💘💘💘💔💔🌪🎨♠️📚🌠🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟s❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

I had neither idea of this new release nor what it was dealing with.
I was drawn by the cover, the title and the blurb.

After I finished it, it took me more than an hour to recover. I was that much blown away....
A mature, solid and gut wrenching love story.
I will not refer to the story or characters. You should experience this journey on your own.

Unfortunately, my writing can not do the slightest justice to this book.
The author’s writing style gripped me wholeheartedly and was very emotional.
I was astonished at the truth it exuded and at the sense of experience it conveyed.
There were some chapters, from Ben’s journal, that the writing style was completely different, poetic with a few lyrical elements.

Kudos to the author for not delivering this journey from an absolute single pov. The addition of entries from Ben’s journal were monumental and riveting.

I cannot hide my admiration for the author who had the inner strength and superiority to write this book based on personal experiences and skillfully express deep human feelings.
Bravo Erin Spencer!!! 👏👏

whys this duet so Lana Del Rey (Born to Die album specifically) coded 😭

for some reason, i sensed from the beginning this was NOT going to have a happy ending; hence i dissociated myself just so i wouldnt feel attached to the characters. regrettably, getting to the end still had me feeling completely anguished. especially knowing that this was based on the authors true story. 💔

• plot spoiler •

this whole book is a tragedy of summer romance between a motorcycle riding, single dad H whos from the wealthiest family in town and a nomad h. there are forces trying to tear them apart, and it pushes them to elope. whats supposed to be their happily ever after quickly turns into their worst nightmare when the H gets into a road accident that takes his life. this misadventure has left the h widowed. she’ll have her second chance at love with a different love interest in the next book.

apart from the sad ending, this is your typical whirlwind summer romance. meaning, the MCs fall hard & fast with each other, and their relationship is fleeting (though this is more because of fate than their own choosing). i feel like the romance is very cheesy, but it has that romantic & melancholic vibes to it.

i was not a fan of the Hs family. it was unacceptable that his parents started to treat the h like a human being only after “the milk was spilled,” but i loved how the h was not afraid to stand up to them. meanwhile, the Hs ex-bestfriend (not OM) sabotaging the MCs relationship storyline felt petty & unnecessary.

idk how to explain why i didnt rate this higher, but just know its me and not the book. 😬🙈

Poignant, emotionally rich, heartbreaking yet hopeful, More With You took my breath away. This story is unique, it's potent, and it's powerful- the kind of story that embeds itself in your heart and doesn't let go. There is no story more vulnerable than your own, and Erin Spencer clearly pours her soul into this heart-achingly beautiful story. More with You is more than just a romance, it's a meaningful existential journey of self-discovery and healing. It's beautifully real and it's a triumph- Spencer draws every emotion out with finesse and authenticity. So deftly that you feel this story in your bones- the entire range of human emotion pouring from the page. Prepare to FEEL, grab some tissues, and open your heart, because More With You will consume it completely.

I don’t want to say too much about this story, but I will say that this is a love story so beautiful you’ll be thinking about it for days after. But it’s also not your “traditional” romance story- this is one that hurts. It’s real, it’s honest, raw- nowhere near the idealized cookie cutter romance we think of when we think of love. But that’s the charm and depth of this story- Summer and Ben’s romance isn’t idealized, but it’s no less perfect, no less meaningful. Because it’s theirs- a love so consuming it changes the fabric of their being. One so profoundly written on the page, that is will probably change yours too.

The narrative approach here is the perfect compassion to the powerful words Spencer unfurls within. The story is almost impressionistic in places- vivid and consuming moments in time captured on the page, meaningful vignettes that paint the story of Ben and Summer. Most of the story is told through Summer’s eyes, with Spencer brilliantly bringing us Ben’s voice through his written word in heart stoppingly beautiful poetic declarations of love and intention. Of dreams and memories. Watching them fall together felt as easy and free as a summer breeze- two unlikely souls finding each other at just the right time, each being the partner that both needed but never knew they could have. Summer is the vibrant but broken light that invigorates Ben’s soul- a resilient, strong, gentle heart whose independence and compassion call to him. And Ben was the love, acceptance, the emotional safety and HOME that Summer had been so long without, but the realities of his life make her worry she won’t fit into his world. They fall so sweetly, so epically- with the passion and fury and intense energy of a summer dream.

With each passing page, I could feel the energy get heavier and heavier- just knowing that a love this big could hurt somehow. And hurt it does- I was gutted. Inconsibile. Adrift in my feelings, bereft and vulnerable. But while this is inspired by her true story, this story also is a reminder that there is no one “perfect” love story- sometimes love doesn’t quite come out just how you dream it will be. But it’s still beautiful, life-altering in every way. In the same way love finds us where we least expect it, it also charts its own course. Summer and Ben’s takes a course that hurts my heart, while also filling it with hope and tenderness. Because at times, at our darkest, in our most broken, well there we find the marrow of who we are. There we find healing and the will to keep going- there we find ourselves. And there we find that love is resilient- it may change, it may shift, but it never waivers- but love, well love endures- when we let it in.

So while this story may have broken me a bit, it also captured my heart completely, held it’s broken pieces with care and hope and healing. And if these are the kinds of impactful stories she has to tell, Erin Spencer will certainly be an author I look forward to reading in the future. Grab the tissues friend, you’ll need them.

Oh, my heart! More with You by Erin Spencer was a devastatingly beautiful romance about endearing love and unexpected heartache. I was not fully prepared for my heart to travel on such an intense, emotional journey, but I loved experiencing every part of Ben and Summer’s meant-to-be love story. This romance will definitely place a lasting memory on your heart and leave you feeling all the things.

Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber narrate this audiobook. Ava Erickson was simply stunning portraying Summer! She conveyed Summer’s determined, vulnerable, and passionate sides perfectly moving me to tears at times in a very emotional performance. Zachary Webber portrayed Ben’s heroic, loyal, and dedicated persona brilliantly. Summer and Ben have this magnetic chemistry that is undeniable.

Overall I loved this audiobook. If you are a fan of an emotional small-town summer romance with a fiercely devoted heroine, a dedicated charismatic hero, casinos, the beach, the bayou, drama with parents, a sweet bookstore owner, danger, an adorable girl named Grace, heartache, making amends, new beginnings, and a bittersweet conclusion that will make your heart squeeze, then you will love Ben and Summer’s romance. I’m looking forward to more from Erin Spencer.

This is one of those books that I had to sit on for awhile before I could attempt to write a review. I want to tell you everything, but I feel like I can tell you almost nothing. This is a book that you just have to experience for yourself.

When Summer meets Ben, she's not looking for love, but Ben changes all of that. With his wealthy family, she doesn't feel worthy of him, and his family will do whatever it takes to keep them apart.

Now, the author tells you from the beginning that this story is inspired by her own life, and it makes me want to sit her down with a cup of coffee and get all of the details. I need more, I want to know it all, but I'll settle for the parts that she's so courageously shared with us. (Make sure to read her personal note at the end of the story.)

I will admit that I almost stopped reading this book early on. For a few chapters, I thought that this plot was going to be one that I personally am getting a little tired of. I'm so glad now that I continued, because I was wrong. Since this book is inspired by a true story, it's not your typical rich boy meets poor girl romance. It's doesn't follow the same storyline as so many other romances out there right now. It's refreshing and romantic, and it's also heartbreaking.

More With You is Erin Spencer's debut solo novel, but you'd never guess that when reading it. This story is beautifully written with wonderful imagery, and there are passages that are almost poetic. The relationship between Ben and Summer is a true romance, and Ben is the perfect book boyfriend. If his real-life inspiration was truly like the Ben on paper, then I can understand how he would quickly steal your heart.

I really can't say much more about this book, because again, you just need to read it for yourself. Trust me when I say that you will feel every emotion with this one: anger, despair, embarrassment, love, grief, heartbreak, hope. It's all there within these pages, and if this author has more of her story to tell, I'd love to read a sequel. More of You may just be one of my top reads of the year. It's definitely one that I won't soon forget.

I was living in a constant fall waiting for winter to come. I thought I'd squandered the summer of my life.--Ben

I needed time to wrap my head and heart around all that happened and then dry my tears before sitting down to express my feelings. Not all stories end the way we envision. Sometimes they are even more memorable though.

In her debut as a solo author, Erin Spencer impressed the heck out of me! Her words are alluring and mesmerizing — even through the bittersweet. The story felt fresh and in a class of its own. Readers should experience every word – the highs and lows -- without spoilers.

I was entranced by Summer and Ben’s beautiful romance and meaningful love scenes emphasizing the deep emotional connection, affection and shared bond that develops between caring lovers. All created without the use of non-stop graphically detailed and vulgar language that often plagues so many romance novels these days. There were maybe 2 or 3 f-words in the entire book! But don’t doubt for a minute that there wasn’t plenty of sizzle and fireworks between Ben and Summer. What a treat — I enjoyed the pleasant break where the heart does most of the talking.

Just as a painter combines brush strokes to create an image, this writer combines the same to create unforgettable characters in both Ben and Summer. Opposites who attract at first sight, raised in such completely different environments, one an outgoing, wealthy artist and writer – the other a penniless, beautiful bookworm who works in a casino. Still, a perfect match.

Erin Spencer infuses this story with raw honesty inspired by her own personal experience. Be sure and read the author’s note at the end where you may catch a little hint that we may not have seen the last of Summer. That certainly put a smile on my face!

Even in the end with a broken heart and my feelings scattered, there is still the beauty of hope.

9/20/2022 - It’s Live today! Audiobook is included in the current Audible sale. PLUS! ebook is in KU & audio is WS.

9/13/2022 - This love story contains many beloved tropes: opposites attract, small town, rich/poor, conniving family members, and secrets to share. However, until that moment - that utterly heartbreaking moment where you know with all certainty what it about to happen in the next few minutes there was nothing predictable about this story.

Spencer draws from her own experiences of loss, abandonment, hope, determination, love, devastation, and healing. That truth comes through in every word. Summer and Ben's love shines.

I hope that some day Spencer will continue Summer's story - whether it mirrors her own or not.

Narration:
The small sections narrated by Zachary Webber representing Ben's journal are heartfelt and poignant. However, Ava Erickson is where this audiobook really takes hold of the listener. She is Summer at her most extremes, she is Ben and Grace and even the terrible Levi. Erickson is immensely talented and while I've always loved her performances in the past - this was perfection. Highly recommend listening to this one.

CW: (spoilers)

I borrowed the book from KU but did receive a copy of the audiobook from Home Cooked Books and am leaving an honest review.

Summer has traveled from place to place, going where her jobs and the money lead her. Raised by a mother who didn’t care and then her grandmother who now relies on Summer to pay for her senior living, Summer has never put down roots anywhere. But while working at a casino in southern Mississippi, Summer is rescued from an aggressive patron by Ben. The pair connect instantly. Ben is a 36-year-old heir to the local wealthy family, but he’s his own person. He’s an artist with a poet’s soul and he knows that Summer is the woman for him.

The book is about their whirlwind romance, Summer coming to grips with who she is and who she will be, and how Ben and Summer work through their differences together. They are up against a disapproving family and a family friend who is determined to sabotage them.

I think More With You needs to come with a big warning though, because it chewed my heart up and spit it back out again and left me sobbing. It’s beautiful, but it is terribly heartbreaking.

Born and raised a Louisiana girl myself, I loved the Gulf setting and the whole scene with how to eat crawfish filled me with laughter and nostalgia. Mrs. T, the book owner and Summer’s surrogate Southern mama, gets a special shout out as my favorite character.

The audiobook is especially good. Both narrators - Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber - are professionals in the romance field. I’ve loved listening to them in many other audiobooks and their spectacular performances carry over to More With You. Ava narrates the majority of the book, and her emotional inflection is perfect. Zachary always sounds a bit nonchalant to me, but he still nails the powerful emotions in this book. The way both portrayed Summer and Ben, paired with the emotionally-packed story, made me cry. I couldn’t have asked for better narrators!

This book is perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover, or anyone who needs a book to take them through a full spectrum of emotions.

Sometimes words leap off the page and touch you so deeply... that is what Erin Spencer has done. Sharing her story is both brave and special. I cannot imagine the journey of emotions revisiting something so personal. Ben's love for Summer and Summer's fierce strength and resolve were a gift. This book will stay with me a very long time. Thank you.

There’s a quote said by Carrie Fisher that always stuck with me: “Take your broken heart, make it into art.”

Erin Spencer did that with this devastatingly beautiful story.

Before I get started, I do want to say that this isn’t a “romcom”. Yes it is a romance, but you will cry real tears because Spencer delivers a raw and emotional book here.

This is a fictionalized semi-autobiographical story that is based on Spencer’s real life. Having read (and loved) her co-authored super fun romcom, The Yes Factor (seriously, pick it up because it’s so much fun!) , I was really excited when it was announced she was releasing this solo book. I was fully warned beforehand that it was completely different in sense of tone and story. All I can really say is: wow, she really blew me away.

I read this via audiobook and honestly I can’t imagine reading it any other way. Hearing Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber tell this story was breathtaking. The emotions are laid bare and punch you in the feels. They make you light up with joy and fall over weeping. A MUST listen.

Summer and Ben are going to live in a special corner of my heart forever. This is a book that sticks with you in such a bittersweet and unforgettable way.

I honestly don’t have the words to express how desperately I need Erin Spencer to keep writing books like this. She writes books to get lost in, and this one was faultless.

*Disclaimer* I received an audio ARC from Home Cooked Books. An honest review was provided.

Ben and Summer’s story will stay with me forever. It was an emotional journey that warmed my heart and gutted me at the same time. I felt a deep connection to the characters and I was fully invested from beginning to end. They say people come into your life for a reason and that’s the feeling I was left with.

It’s one thing to read a book and another to listen to one. I’m so glad that I chose to listen to this one. Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber’s incredible narration transported me into this storyline and this place Erin Spencer shared with us. I think everyone needs to listen/read this emotionally charged book that left me exhausted and speechless.

An awesome, heartwarming, full of emotions love and life story. Erin tells a tale full of fun, emotions, rage at everything life throws to Ben and Summer trying to tear them apart but only making their bond stronger. It's a story to be listened to. The audiobook is so full of power thanks to the amazing job of Zachary Webber and Ava Erikson More than five star worth.

This book is a brilliantly crafted, devastatingly beautiful love story. It’s been added to my top reads of 2022 list.

Erin Spencer’s first book, co-written with Emma Sable, The Yes Factor was a huge hit for me. I loved the story and the writing. So when I found out Erin was writing another book, I was here for it. Of course, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.

I got myself into a lot. My heart was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster, but it was worth every moment.
If you love good storytelling, a love story that will have you swooning and leaving your heart battered and bruised but also hopeful. Definitely make sure you grab this book.

Summer and Ben are almost the opposite of each other but the same. Both struggling to find their place and break out of the trauma their parents inflicted on them. Just when things are starting to heat up, a bombshell is dropped, and in walks Grace, Ben’s daughter. Watching Summer work through her emotions and come out the other side and build a relationship with Grace was just beautiful.

I loved how the story is told from Summer’s point of view with journal entries from Ben to give us an insight into him and his thought processes. And this worked really well for the audiobook narration too. The family family aspect of the story really hit me in the feels. Knowing that this story is in part about Erin Spencer’s life adds to the depth of the story.

Speaking of the audiobook. Oh, my goodness. Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber were the perfect choices to bring this story to life. Ava obviously carries the bulk of the story and does so spectacularly. And Zachary, his portions were so beautifully and almost delicately performed. They definitely elevated this story for me…even when they broke me. The mark of an excellent performance.

Content information/ warnings below. Read if you need the information.

Tropes. Small-town. Single dad. Rich man/ poor woman. Found family.

The book does contain some triggering content. Threat of SA. Past trauma—Child Abuse/ Neglect. Death of a partner. Alzheimer’s. Grief.

This book is like nothing else I’ve read or listened to. I felt so many emotions while listening to this story and I just wasn’t fully prepared. Ava Erickson is definitely a favorite of mine. Her narration is beautiful. And Zachary Webber does a wonderful job portraying Ben in this story.

I loved Summer so much. She had been dealt an awful hand in life but she was still pushing forward to make the best of a rough situation. She was always moving from city to city making a new start every few months. She never settled in one place and she never wanted to. Until she met Ben. She didn’t know anything about him or his life and upbringing. Just that he started to feel like home.

When she finds out who is really is and who his family is, she really doesn’t believe they belong together. They come from two very opposite worlds. But Ben is determined to show her they belong together. Just when she thinks he is right, she finds out something that he was keeping to himself. This makes her doubts come back full force. But Ben won’t give up and these two truly fall deeply in love. They just have to battle his family and all they are trying to do to rip them apart.

There are many great secondary characters in this story but there are also some that you want to jump into the story and hurt them deeply. You will feel so many emotions reading/listening to this story so be prepared (and have a few tissues handy).

I truly hope we see more from Erin Spencer…soon.

I loved this beautiful story. I was entranced from the get go. And the fact that this is based on Erin Spencer's real life experience made the story that much more poignant. It's a gorgeous love story filled with heartache. Summer worked hard to care for her grandmother and didn't let hardship deter her. Summer meets Ben and it changes her world. She never let her guard down before but Ben is her exception. Amazing narration by Ava Erickson & Zachary Webber.

A fictionalized version of true events from Erin Spencer's own life (about 20 years ago) - this is a heartbreaking story, so have that glass of wine, a ton of chocolate and a box of tissues at hand when you start to listen!

(And a big recommendation to listen to this one, instead of reading - Zachary Webber reads parts of Ben, writing in his journal, and Zach is friends with Erin, so it is extra-special! Reading more about this book and Erin's background, he was the only one she trusted with this role, being so personal)

The story of Summer and Ben is beautiful, right from the moment they meet straight through the end of the book, and Erin's author's notes about how it compares to her own true story. While it has a lot of character struggles throughout, with Summer's difficult background, and so many folks against their relationship, the very end is heartbreaking - I know a lot of people say that a book can't be a romance without an HEA, but Erin's authors notes seem to indicate that she had a happy ending after what occurred in her world and where she ended this story, so maybe Summer can too. Was this her telling us that there is going to be a follow-up story for Summer.... please please please?! I would love to know what happens next! Whether it's further fictionalized, or more true-life events, I need more of Summer's story, I need to know where she, Lindsay and Grace go from this point (and Sybil too)!

Without giving away the story/plot, it's beautiful, it's sad, and it's real-life events (mostly), and it's an absolute recommendation from me. Erin Spencer has written her own story in a fictionalized way so magnificently, and I believe that everyone should pick this up.

Zachary Webber doesn't have a large role, but the parts he narrates are his normal beautiful voice and he brings absolutely everything to it. Ava Erickson is the majority of the book and as with every other book I've listened to from her, she has a melodic voice that is always perfect for every character she brings to life. She was fantastic as Summer, brought in every emotion brilliantly, and helped us to feel all of the feels as the story built. Bravo, to both of them! They really brought the whole thing to life. This is definitely a story far better listened to than read.

I received an advance listen copy from Home Cooked Books, and this is my honest feedback.

More with You is a story inspired by author Erin Spencer's true story and it's a work of art. The way Erin captured her story in this book is truly is a masterpiece. The story of Summer and Ben is as vivid a photograph in a photo album or a painting in an art gallery. She paints the images in her readers' minds as if they are truly there to witness the love between these two characters unfold. This book has everything love, heartache, family drama, a devoted hero, a determined heroine, an adorable little girl, and so much more. With Erin's story being interwoven in More with You , it is so captivating, it will have you reading page after page and listening to minute after minute.

Erin Spencer's solo debut novel is narrated by Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber. These two made utter magic together. Ava was emotionally raw and beautifully and passionately brought Summer to life as if it was her own story. Summer didn't have the best childhood and that carried into her adult life. She was determined to not live her life like her mother but then everything she never knew she wanted comes her way. Zachary is the devoted and loving father, Ben. He was dynamic and dedicated to bringing so much life and love to his character. I loved these two together. The performance they gave were so magnetic, you could feel their chemistry through your earbuds.

I listened to this book and I'm so glad I did. I expected to hear about some boring lady's life but what I got was so damn good. I was surprised when I was so invested in it and cheering for Summer & Ben. This book had me laughing and so happy for this couple, then the ending had me ugly crying so hard. I was becoming jealous of Summer at first, seemed like she was finally getting something good. I liked a lot of the characters but then again there were a few that were begging to get hit. I liked this love story, the friendships, and the eventual coming around to see the bad they were doing and what it cost them. This story won't leave for awhile and I'm so glad the author was brave enough to write it. Erin will be a writer I will look out to see what she writes next. The narrators were the perfect fit for this book, they made everything come to life. I'd love to hear more of the books these narrators read.

Summer wasn't looking for love. To be honest, she wasn't looking for anything other than a job that would pay her grandmother's medical bills. The job in a small town, dealing cards at a casino seemed to serve its purpose. Then HE showed up: Ben, a gentle soul who became her knight in shining armor. The problem was summer was a "nobody" and Ben was the heir to the richest and most prominent family in town and the last thing they want is for two of them to be involved.
Summer found an anchor in Ben and Ben found in her a reason to fly.

This is a love story unlike any of the ones you have seen me review here.

There's so much love and angst and heartache and it's made all the more beautiful when you know that these are based on Erin's real life experiences. I could not put it down and I wanted to hug Summer a lot while listening to her story. If you are a fan of Jojo Moyes and Nicholas Sparks you will LOVE this one. I did.

Narration: I don't have enough stars to give the narration of this book. For obvious reasons, there is no one better than Ava to give us all the feelings when we listen to Summer's story. We get Zach through Ben's diary entries that tie up every chapter. The feeling of enchantment of finding "the one", of falling in love... it's all there in his voice. An amazing audiobook that had me in tears and that will stay with me for a long time.

Possible triggers: family member with dementia, loss of a loved one, grief, harassment

I voluntarily listened to and reviewed an advanced copy of this audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I started to listen to the audiobook this morning as I began my day. I just finished a few minutes ago. This was a beautiful story that will linger on my heart forever. The story came alive from the first page until the end. Erin and Zachary Webber brought all of the emotion to the forefront. You could see that they both loved the story. It will be a story that I will re-listen to often. There is just something so special about Ben and Summer. I went into the story blind and believe that everyone should take on that approach. Sit back and read/listen to an incredible love story. One that you will never forget.

More With You
By: Erin Spencer
Narrated by: Ava Erickson, Zachary Webber

Did you ever start a book and not be prepared for the emotional roller coaster you are about to take? That is what this book did. The most romantic of stories, Ben and Summer are an unlikely couple. Ben comes from privilege, and Summer is struggling to get by. But there is an undeniable chemistry and literal instant love that is incredibly precious. And from there our story begins. Erin Spencer takes us through a time in her own life that is filled with She pulls on every heart string, lets us every emotion you can imagine. I could feel the triumph of Summer facing Ben's parents, and the laughter spending time with his daughter. The emotions are raw and gritty, and I felt every one. This book is moving to the top of my 2022 listens and I do hope she gives us more, as I would love to hear it!

Bringing all this to life is Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber. Both of there narrators know how to reach in our hearts and make us feel. Every feeling is alive, every smile and every tear so real that it felt like I was there right with them. It's a powerful narration and one that should not be missed.

A beautiful, emotional, small-town romance with such heart!

Summer, who travels from place to place, meets Ben after he helps her out from a sticky situation. They come from two opposite worlds but are immediately drawn towards each together.

This is such a beautiful story, and I’m trying not to spoil too much, but just know it was so wonderful to read… Heart-breaking at times, but ultimately worth the read!

The audiobook was such a pleasure to listen to. Narrated by Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber; they were both so incredibly on this. The emotions were there for sure!

Audiobook review: Five stars across the board!!

This is a love story of the most powerful kind. It held me captive from the moment I started listening and days later it still hasn’t let me go. Spencer’s writing in this book is a work of art. Like listening to a song in perfect harmony; a tragically beautiful symphony that leaves you trying to catch your breath at the end while the notes reverberate in your soul.

Summer is a wanderer. A strong, determined woman who never puts down roots. Ben is a deep, gentle soul. They come from different family backgrounds. His is one of privilege, hers is one of struggle and neglect. But with a chance meeting and a walk along the beach, a love that is written in the stars takes flight.

Spencer’s writing immerses you in the scenery of the small Mississippi Gulf Coast town where this story takes place. The beach, the water, the cottage, the bridge…I felt as if I was right there. The characters are painted so vividly that you are easily drawn into their world. You will rejoice in the deep love that develops between Ben and Summer, and you will rage at Ben’s family, who value money and status above all else. Based on Spencer’s own life story, this book will pull you through all the emotions: love, joy, anger, grief, sorrow, forgiveness, hope, and gratitude.

The audiobook is brilliantly narrated by Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber. The story is told primarily through the POV of Summer, and Ava Erickson’s performance of her range of emotions in this story was perfect. As for Zachary Webber, the sincerity and gentleness in his voice was absolutely perfect for the voice of Ben. I can’t imagine a better narrator choice. I highly recommend listening to this book on audio. Erickson's and Webber's performances truly bring the book to life.

This story hits differently knowing it’s based on the author’s real life. There are certain books you read that you know are going to stick with you for a lifetime. This is one of those books. In the end, it wrecked me. But isn’t that what the very best books do? They hit you down deep in some kind of way that you know you’ll never forget them. That is why this audiobook easily ranks as my top listen so far this year.

This is a powerful, beautiful love story that will fill your heart to bursting, then break it into pieces and leave you grateful for the journey.

“He’s slow and attentive to every piece of me, as if he’s putting me together again when I had no idea I was even broken. I’m alive in his arms. More alive than I’ve ever been.”

Powerful, moving and emotionally gut wrenching, this audiobook broke my heart into a million pieces but the romantic journey to get there was worth it all. The love story between Ben and Summer was magical and poetic and is something that I won’t soon forget. Fate brought Ben and Summer together when she needed him the most, but Ben’s family was unwilling to bend and let an outsider into their elite world, making it extremely difficult for any form of happiness. My heart broke for the life Summer had endured up until that point and when she finally started to get a peek at happiness, Ben’s stubborn and vengeful family tried to take it all away. There was no denying the chemistry and love between Ben and Summer, while it may have seemed fast their love was the forever kind.

“How can a kiss feel like paradise? How can his lips on my skin feel like magic? I don’t understand it and I don’t want to. I just want to enjoy him, and this feeling, for as long as it lasts.”

Without spoiling anything, books like this always leave an indelible mark on my heart and make for a story that I continue to think about long after I’ve finished. With this one I especially loved the journal entry viewpoints from Ben, it gave insight into what he was feeling without chapters from his point of view. Overall this was a beautiful story about a women’s journey through love, loss and everything in between. I was left emotionally stunned by the end of the story, and the authors note, sobbing!

Ava and Zachary’s performance was so intense and moving that I felt as if I had lived the story with them. Listening to the diary entries from Ben narrated Zachary was like poetry for my ears, and the emotion behind Ava’s performance left me with feelings of longing and love. I definitely recommend listening to this one!

“I’m intoxicated by her. I can’t help it. I want to lay her down, naked, on my porch on a rainy Sunday, so I can paint the curves of her body and worship the canvases of her when she’s away from me.”

Oh my!! My heart!!!

This book is a telling of an epic love, the kind that we all dream about as little girls, but it’s one that I’m not sure my heart was ready for. Every emotion was experienced, and I’m pretty sure that I fell for Ben right along with Summer.
Ben was the small town boy who had stepped out of the shadow of his influential parents. Even though they still tried to control him, he stood his ground. The way he stood behind Summer & showed his full support was inspiring.
Summer had been dealt a raw hand in life, but she just kept picking up, dusting off, & moving on to the next adventure.
Everything about the relationship between Ben & Summer was magical. Their connection even on a base level was potent. Their chemistry as their relationship blossomed was palpable & their connection inevitable. Their whirlwind romance was so much more and so deeply ingrained within them both.
Again, my heart wasn’t prepared, but even through tragedy & hardships, bright moments can shine and show a deeper side to the people around us.

I both read & listened to the audiobook of this book.
Ava Erickson’s portrayal of Summer was so heartfelt and emotional. Zachary Webber portrayed Ben in a way that made it easy to fall hard and fast.

I can’t wait for Erin’s next installment. With this being her debut solo book, she knocked it out of the park!

I received an ARC for this honest review.

I listened to the audiobook of this novel as I read it. This is Erin Spencer's first solo novel. She begins by stating that this story, while a work of fiction, is also her real story and it has taken her 20 years to be able to write it. From that moment, I was hooked. I realized that it would be intense if she was putting so much of her personal life into it, and I was intrigued.

The story follows Summer and Ben, two people from different worlds. Ben is from an old money family, steeped in politics and appearances, although he recoils at that reality. Summer, is on her own working in a southern casino, and has struggled financially and with emotionally connecting to others throughout her life. There is an aspect of "insta-love" between them when they meet, and their relationship progresses rapidly.

The writing was absolutely beautiful. It was vivid and poetic, extremely romantic, and descriptive enough to make it easy to imagine the scenes, yet not over the top and too wordy. Ben's journal entries were gorgeous- how he used various colors to convey the emotion he was feeling. He was an artist, after all.

This love story beautiful, and while it does end on a somewhat hopeful note, it is definitely heartbreaking and devastating. I have never cried so hard with a novel. Knowing there was some truth and reality to the story made it all the more emotional. I felt so connected to Summer and Ben's story that I could not help but feel their love and heartbreak.

The audiobook was incredible. Ava Erickson deserves an Audie Award for her performance. Dare I say, that was one of Zachary Webber's most romantic portrayals of a character that I've heard him perform to date. I could easily distinguish characters with their voices and they were amazing at conveying the emotion that I needed to feel. I would say that this is a must listen type of story!

If you absolutely hate any novel with heavy sadness, or that will more than likely make you cry, you may want to skip it. But if you can embrace grief and heavy, real life issues, with the hope that it isn't the final word on someone's life story, then please give this novel a chance.

I very much look forward to Erin's next novel!

Oh my, More With You was a heartbreakingly beautiful and emotional story that will pull at your heartstrings. Summer and Ben’s journey is difficult and painful and full of so much love and fun and passion. One obstacle after another is placed in their path, but love always finds a way.

Summer was such a wonderful character who was full of grit. She had been through so much in her life and yet she fought to come out on the other side. She was a survivor and it was not easy for her to trust and let someone into her life, but Ben overcame all of her doubts. His love makes her believe in herself and to begin to trust in a future.

Ben has my heart. His love for Summer was never-ending and everlasting. He would fight any obstacle, including Summer herself, in order to have a chance at her heart. He truly found his home when he found Summer and all he wanted was a chance to live out his life with her.

Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber narrate the audio and they are superb. They captured the emotions of the story perfectly. All of the love and pain and heartbreak and passion are reflected in their voices and they made me FEEL every word!

More With You absolutely devastated me. It’s messy, emotional, angsty, heartbreaking and full of so much love. It will leave you breathless and feeling so much. I commend the author for sharing such a deeply personal story. I wasn’t prepared for the emotions that this story made me feel and I will warn everyone to not listen at work. It broke me while also filling me with so much hope and peace.

I was immediately hooked when I read the Author’s Note and found out More From You was inspired by the author’s life. Definitely make sure you read her personal note at the end of the story as well. When you first meet Ben and Summer they are from different worlds, Ben comes from money and Summer is a black-jack dealer just trying to get by. They stumble upon each other one fateful night and instantly connect. I loved the dual POVs and Spencer’s descriptive writing so much. This story perfectly captures hope, love, healing, and believing you deserve to be loved. This is a story that will stay with you long after you’re finished reading. Grab your copy out tomorrow!

More with You was a beautiful and emotional story based on real-life experiences by author Erin Spencer. After a chance encounter, Summer, a card dealer who stands on her own two feet and supports her grandmother back home, meets Ben, a talented artist who hides several secrets. There's quite a bit of insta-love, but I was rooting for them throughout. There were several twists and turns that I did not expect. Narrators Ava Erickson and Zachary Webber added even more depth and heart to this story. I could feel the emotions through my car's speakers and had difficulty hitting 'pause' each day to head into the office.
I recommend this to all who love a story that makes you really feel each and every emotion of the characters. I really loved it!
Thank you to author Erin Spencer and Home Cooked Books for the advanced listening copy of More With You, receipt of which did not impact my review.
