The Boy

In this continuation of the series about Philippe and Claire there is a incident with a German soldier at the bar where Claire is playing music. Adeline, a dancer, whom has befriended Claire and helped her get the job at the bar asks the soldier to leave as he is bothering Claire. He finally leaves but says Adeline will pay.

When Claire goes to work the next day Adeline is missing. Adeline's neighbor gives Claire a note when she goes to Adeline's house looking for her. Adeline wants Claire to find her son Jean, hide him and keep him safe.

When Claire is questioned about the boy she knows they must flee Paris with the boy to save his life. As they are packing to leave soldiers boots sound outside their door. With only one small window in the room there is no way to escape...or is there?

What will happen next in this exciting WWII series. Will Claire and Philippe get away or get captured and what becomes of Adeline's son Jean?

I can't wait to read the next episode.

Claire and Phillipe continue in their struggle during the war. And Claire's fear of the German soldiers are growing steadily. Her friend Adeline has been taken and now the search for her friend's son is in earnest.
Phillipe at first, wants nothing to do with the search. And he's asked, what we will do with the boy when we find him? With disbelief, Claire's answer to treat him as if he's your own has shaken him. I believe he's afraid as they've lost their own infant Louis and he fears for Claire.
I can't continue, as I know I'll give away way too much, and I want you to enjoy this story as much as I have.
This is a good story, characters are well fleshed, the storyline run true in their historical background and Faith makes you want to read more, and to like the characters as she has portrayed them. I was given this book in return for an honest review and rating. Both of which are deserving! Grab a copy yourself-you'll see! --P/

Claire and Phillipe are doing everything they can to survive during the war. Then an unexpected surprise have them putting themselves in danger again. This story is heartbreaking at times and triumphant at others. I like Claire's strength and bravery under trying times. She is willing to risk her life for her friend. There were times my heart was pounding, wondering if they would be caught. I would highly recommend it. I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

What would you do?

Do you stay or go?
With whom do you trust your secrets?
Stand up for someone else against a foreign officer?
To whom would you trust your child?
Would you take in a non-family member during war-time?
Do you hold on to your principles regardless of circumstances?

Can any of us answer those questions honestly, if we’ve never been in trying circumstances?

Maybe we’ll find out what Claire and Phillipe do in ‘A Peace for the Guilty Mind’.

As this series continues, the war continues to plague Philippe and Claire. The struggle challenges their love and commitment to one another. Circumstances stretch their relationship. A chance to have a family once again may become a reality, but the Germans are still a threat. I'm anxious to read the next book!

I requested this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

This was an ARC for an unbias review. This story continues the trials of Claire and her husband, during the war and how the Germans are treating the residents. Very compelling drama and a hook to leave us wanting to find out more. Realistic settings and dialogue and heartbreaking (with hope).
