Marly moves across the country on a leap of faith, but will the familiar fear of losing someone she loves be her downfall?
For the first time since her parent’s death, Marly has a new sense of hope as she moves to Colorado to be with the boy she had met on her epic cross-country road trip. What’s supposed to be a fresh start, quickly goes awry after Dylan gets into an accident, leaving him stranded in the wilderness alone. As rescuers search for him, Marly is left panicked, wondering if he’s safe as she re-lives the day her parents died.
When Dylan is finally back to safety, it's Marly who’s left battered and afraid. Dylan is eager to heal, while Marly is determined to stop him from risking an injury again. What Marly doesn’t know is that Dylan’s drive to summit mountains goes much deeper than wanting to cross something off his bucket list.
Will Marly’s fear of losing Dylan be the exact thing that pushes him away?

I am happy to see Marly making her own choices for once and doing what's best for her. For some reason, I'm not a fan of Lori. I think she doesn't let Marly fully speak before she tries to give advice or think what's best for her. I also felt Marly could have handled the relationship better with Dylan. I understand the fear of losing someone you love again, but ignoring someone you love is kind of childish, and she could have had a more mature approach. Dylan also acted a bit immature in some sense, but being injured and having it affect you from finishing something you want can bring the childish side out of you, I suppose.
It was a nice storyline, and I do enjoy where Marly and Dylan was going, but I wish it was a little different. I feel like these characters can do so much more as one and be able to achieve the most out of their goals together.
I'm hoping to see in book #3 more of them being romantic with one another and possibly less family and friends surrounding them. I want to read about them growing more and being completed as a one-piece rather than a two-piece (if that makes any sense, haha).
Overall, it's a book to cozy up in front of a fire on a winter night in the house or outside.
Ooooh Mandi has definitely found her genre-calling with this series! If possible, I loved this story even more than the first. Without spoilers, it made me tear up multiple times, with scenic descriptions that I could picture perfectly. The main sign of a good book to me though, is that it kept me up way too late reading to find out what happens lol. And what an epic ending!

A great followed up to Meet me at the Summit. As Marly goes back to Colorado to be the boy (Dylan) she had met on her epic cross-country road trip. And not only, but a fresh start after losing her parents. But soon after, she felt like she re-lives the day her parents died, when she was waiting for rescuers to save Dylan. When he gets into an accident, leaving him stranded in the wilderness alone. When Dylan is finally back to safety, Marly is left battered and afraid. Dylan is eager to heal, while Marly is determined to stop him from risking an injury again. But Dylan will do anything to prove a point, that will drive him to summit mountains goes much deeper than wanting to cross something off his bucket list. And Marly is afraid that her fear of losing Dylan be the exact thing that pushes him away.
It was a good storyline, and do enjoyed where Marly and Dylan were going. I love how Marly makes her own choices for once and doing what's best for her, even though she feared something bad going to happen and trying to get over her fear and worries. And learn to lean back and not worry too much and have a little trust. Dylan acted a bit immature at first in some sense, but being injured and having it affect you from finishing something you want and taking a moment to understand sure he’s listening but he was not exactly hearing what the people around him that’s cared for him hear what they are saying to understand their feelings, worried about taking it easy after he healed from the injury instead jumping right into. So, he could have have heard them and understood theirs little worries a bit better. But then he started to see and understand what they're trying to do, that they wanted him to be careful and be a little patient and don’t see it as a race or challenge to be getting better or to prove a point. But all in all, it is a good story.
I said this with “Meet Me at the Summit” and it is just as true with “Let the Rubble Fall” - the pain, fear, and heart ache are all palpable.
There were so many moments in this book I was having flashbacks to my own family hospital experiences and getting worked up just like Marly. Even to the point I was ruining current relationships.
Mandi Lynn does an incredible job tapping into that pain. But she still finds moments to keep the story light hearted. Definitely worth the read and I am eager to read the 3rd book upon release!
Marly’s journey is both heart wrenching and heartwarming in this second instalment of her coming of age story. This gentle romance novel will leave you rooting for Marly and Dylan to face their fears together and overcome their traumas. As someone who loves to hike but doesn’t get out nearly enough to do so, I find this book and its predecessor super motivating. Mandi clearly draws on her experience as an avid hiker and expresses the experience well through the characters’ feelings. I really enjoyed reading this novel on letting go and living life.
Overall, the story was cute. Marly and Dylan both annoyed me at times, too stubborn for their own good. Ultimately, the ending was satisfying and I was glad to see Dylan and Marly both get the closure that they needed from their pasts . Also, Dylan’s dad sucks.
This is the third book by Mandi I have had the pleasure of reading and she did not disappoint! I loved the characters and the story so much I read it in one sitting. I felt she has a skill for drawing you into the story and making you feel what the character feels. There was tears and laughter along the way and I look forward to reading more from Mandi.
A great follow up to "Meet me at the Summit". The passion for hiking is evident throughout the story, almost making me want to give it a try. A couple tough issues were tackled wonderfully. An enjoyable story.
Another fantastic book from Mandi Lynn. Full of emotion, comedy, drama, and romance. If I have one criticism, it would be that I felt like the story between Dylan and his father went unfinished and should have had some more closure.
There were things I liked about this book better than the first and things I missed. Overall it felt written better. But, I missed having Marley and Dylan together more!

This was a lovely wrap up to Marly’s story! I liked seeing more of Dylan and everything he went through made my heart hurt! Will definitely be checking out more of Mandi Lynn’s books!
