This was lots of vignettes into the Yuletide lives of the Warriors and Druids. Along with a recipe for each vignette. Short & sweet.

I received this as an ARC however my review is my own thoughts:

After reading through the entire Dark World series, the Warriors and Druids have a special place in my heart. I mean, how could it not when the series starts with them! I love now each chapter is in the couple’s POV with little recipes I know I’ll want to try during the Holidays. But I also loved how each pair’s chapter is in order of their respective books (at least, that’s how I saw it). I’m so happy to get a glimpse back into their world and lives, and how it’s still pertinent to their current events.

All in all, a cute, unfortunately short, but fun read with some of the best Warriors and Druids out there!

What a delightful holiday novella. We get a story for each Warrior and wife plus a surprise guest and his wife.

Each couple shows such compassion for others that it makes your heart happy. Honestly, I related most to Evie because nothing makes me sadder than the thought of children with nothing to open on Christmas. And some of the wives, and a husband or two, are just as neurotic as I am. They had me busting a gut, I laughed so hard. I would also like to know if Marcail will come to my house next, to help me out???? Once you read the book, you'll most likely request her to your home as well.

As an added bonus, after each couple's story, Donna Grant as included recipes that will have your taste buds singing all through the season. Mine were. They were scrumptious and easy.

In short, this book, feeds the heart and stomach plus makes your taste buds sing. The best kind of book there is. Thanks Donna Grant!!

The perfect gift for yourself and everyone on your list. So go and one click as fast as you can.

A warrior for Christmas

This novella gives a rare glimpse into peace for several of the warrior couple approaching the winter solstice. They have come home again and this is a first person perspective of several of the favourites. Each chapter gives you a different couple and perspective of their life during the quiet time. It allows us a way to reconnect before the next book. Introduces Dale as a friend vs foe and allows us a way to see that the next book is gonna be a heart stopper. Each chapter has a different recipe and I have tried several of them before writing my review and the ones o have tried been on point. The drinks and appetizers works amazing together. Great taste and flavour.

This is a wonderful collection of shorts each about a different couple from various series by this super talented author. Coming together for the most celebrated time of the year.

“I love you, my amazing Warrior.” “And I love you, my stunning Druid.”

Warriors, Druids, Dragon Kings, Fae and more. I’ll be the first to admit I haven’t read a whole lot by this author but that’s definitely about to change.

A Warrior for Christmas was a fun read. Each chapter features a different couple to follow-up with. And sandwiched between each short story are different recipes. That I was pleasantly surprised to see and I can't wait to give some of the recipes a try.

I received a copy of the ARC from Donna Grant in exchange for my honest review.

I would like to start out by saying thank you to Donna Grant for gifting me an arc in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts are my own.

We travel back to the infamous MacLeod castle where our fierce warriors and druids are gathering in celebration of the winter solstice. For the first time in a long time they are in times of peace and are truly able to focus on the things that matters the most to them, each other.

This collection of stories are about each couple, as they reflect on their journeys and the events that they have endured to the joys they are surrounded by now. Each story is so sweet and has its own flare from these druids and warriors we can’t help but love.

This was such a heartwarming novella. It was so wonderful to revisit these characters and MacLeod castle again. To especially see how each of them is doing since the many events throughout the dark world series. How far each has come and how they found themselves through love and resilience.

These characters have such a special place in my heart, so to see them so full of love and laughter warmed my heart. One thing I truly enjoyed about this novella is seeing a more intimate glimpse into each of their lives and how they operate as a family. You really get a sense of their individuality and can’t help but fall even more for them. The quirks and games the couples enjoy throughout each story was such a treat as well. Galen definitely had me laughing at his antics!!

The descriptions of the MacLeod castle all decorated for the solstice had me in awe. I could picture it so vividly, how breathtaking and beautiful the castle would look. If only we could visit!! The solstice was so alluring and enchanting. You could feel the magic of it trying to sweep you into it. The feeling of being so captured by the magic and love of our warriors and druids celebrating was a delight.

In true Charon fashion what better way to add to any celebration than new recipes! After each story there are festive recipes! I definitely can’t wait to try them myself! They are all new to me and are such a fun thing that is included in this book!

Come join the solstice with our beloved druids and warriors, reminisce about the trials and tribulations that each has endured for the happiness they treasure now. Take part in experiencing the love of the MacLeod family. Bring plenty of food for Galen and a full heart in this joyous novella! Let the magic pull you back into the dark world series for another lovely addition!

If you’re experiencing Warrior/Druid withdrawal, this book provides a timely diversion to keep these fascinating characters fresh in your mind.

In this Christmas novella the Warriors and Druids of the Dark Warriors series gather for the winter solstice at castle MacLeod in Scotland.

Each chapter focuses on a different couple. I enjoyed the reminder of who all the Warriors and Druids are and a bit about their stories. It was lovely seeing them in relaxed circumstances, being themselves, where they only had to focus on each other.

You will also find a delightful surprise in between each chapter, recipes for Christmas snacks and cocktails. It was a fun transition and I looked forward to each new one. I’m going to have to try some of those recipes now.

This novella won’t mean much if you haven’t at least read the books in the Dark Warriors series. And if you have the time, go back and read the entire Dark World series. I can highly recommend this series if you enjoy paranormal romance with a large variety of creatures and people and nail-biting action.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Warriors hold a special place in my heart. I started reading Ms. Grant with Dangerous Highlander, and have read everything she has written since. This book is like a trip back home in the greatest of ways possible. The Warriors and their Druids are the family of my heart.

Each snippet deals with a Warrior and his Druid (or, in the case of Fallon - his Warrior) at the Solstice/Christmas/Yule time. Ms. Grant gives us a peak at the worry the Druids have regarding the threat in her new spin off series - Skye Druids. Each one has a glimpse of what might come. I really liked the conversation between Phalen & Ashley, dealing with yet another potential could be problem. I was very glad to see Ms. Grant bring in a Warrior who has been nearly forgotten. That was the best.

In between each of the reconnection stories, there are recipes for snacks and drinks. Each one sounds delicious and I'm eager to try them out.

This is a wonderful holiday book to pick up when you're in between baking batches of cookies. While it is best to have read each of the previous books to know how far the Warriors have come, I don't think it's necessary to read them before this one. There is enough background in the snippets to whet your appetite for more.

I loved getting a fresh glimpse into the lives of the warriors and their wives. There were so many swoon worthy moments as each couple, in just a couple of chapters, shared a little of their love for each other. I had the privilege of getting to know them just a little bit better. The little snippets of each couple have me wanting to go back and read the Dark Warrior series.

The warriors are a great example of you don't need to be blood to be family. They have all been through difficult times, but remain solid. The holiday season is upon them. The women have gone mad with the decorations and holiday baking. The Winter Solstice is soon to be celebrated with family coming together.

Best of all it is a time when the characters learn that you can come home. The season is a time to remember that forgiveness is one of the greatest gifts. Welcoming a past warrior back into their world made my heart grow, reminding me of what the season is all about.

Big bonus--the author tied in some super amazing recipes in with the stories. Each couple has a different recipe shared that you can try.

A Warrior for Christmas is a novella that can be read as a standalone book, however, you’ll enjoy it much more if you’ve read the Dark Sword / Dark Warriors series. After events in other crossover series, the Warriors and their Druid wives have left the MacLeod castle and built their own homes outside of the protected compound. They get together every year to celebrate Winter Solstice and Christmas with their self-made family. The novella gives us a brief update on each of the warriors and their wives as they all return home for the holiday. This year, however, they invite a Dale, a Warrior that was once considered a mortal enemy to join them as part of their family with his wife that helped him become the man he is now.

Each couple’s update is shared with us in a chapter, and at the end of each chapter, there’s a recipe that you can picture the family eating/drinking as they celebrate their love for one another and their family. A Warrior for Christmas was a nice holiday novella, that also let us know that we’ll be seeing more of the Warriors and Druids in the Skye Druids and probably in the Dragon Kings.

I received this book as an ARC and while I had not read all of the Warrior/Druid series involved in the book, I had enough of a background in the book that I enjoyed the short stories a lot. The stories were short glimpses into the different couples holiday antics and musings. They shared memories, laughter and recipes giving me glimpses of some of what I had missed in the past and enjoying the interactions of the couples as pairs and then together. I loved the details shared within the brief stories about their feelings for each other, the descriptions of their home and in some cases, their children or their pets. There was a scene of a couple where they were very competitive playing video games that made me laugh and reminded me of my son and his spouse at one point. Then there is another scene about a warrior who eats so much that everyone wants to beat him to the table to make sure they're not left without food. There were several very appealing snippets within the short stories that made the book appealing and I'm looking forward to going back and reading about the Warriors and their partners in the books I've missed.

A MacLeod's Castle Christmas

This was the novella I needed when I didn't realise I needed it, that is what A WARRIOR FOR CHRISTMAS was for me. Returning to MacLeod's Castle, to the Warriors and their Druids, made me realise just how much I missed them all.

Donna has gathered her Warriors together along with their partners/wives to celebrate the Winter Solstice and Christmas in a collection of shorts stories told from the POV of each couple. They are fun, lighthearted, a touch sexy, and give a brief glimpse into their lives, fears, and love. An insight into how they prepare for their Christmas festivities, the wrapping and choosing of presents, remembering past times, and a decision regarding a former enemy.

Special treats are also included. Donna has shared some wonderful recipes for the Christmas season ... I am definitely going to try some of those!!

A WARRIOR FOR CHRISTMAS is a wonderful addition to the Dark World novels. It was so good to catch up with everyone who I had been missing.

Donna Grant's A WARRIOR FOR CHRISTMAS is a novella revisiting the Warriors and Druids residing at MacLeod Castle. We get a glimpse of the 15 couples, their relationships and a few of their quirks. It's the Winter Solstice and the Castle Druid's favorite time of the year. It's quiet at the Castle, lacking the evil encounters I'm used to. I find I'm having mixed feelings about this book. I love having insight into, and spending time with the Castle family. But I need more. I hadn't realized how much I've missed visiting their world & looking in on them. Donna's amazing skill at world & character building transports me into their lives as I feel welcomed to join in their festivities. We need more about these Warriors and Druids! Maybe a bit more action. The shortened chapters in this book makes it easy to read and pick up throughout your day. The recipes are varied & sound delicious. A good book. Would like more on their celebration and interpersonal relationships in the last chapter.

A Warrior for Christmas (Dark Warriors #10) by Donna Grant is a collection of short stories concerning main characters from stories past. Just days away from the winter solstice, Christmas, and Boxing Day, the many couples have come together to celebrate at the MacLeod Castle. It was wonderful to catch a glimpse of each couple, seeing that the attraction between them was still hot. This is a book of happy times which is fun to read after so many battles with enemies in the longer stories. Also the recipe and detailed instructions at the end of each chapter is cool too. There is bound to be more than one that each reader will want to try.

This is more of a catching up during the holidays with the couples from past books so new readers may be a bit confused by it all. For readers of the series this is like icing on the cake.

A WARRIOR FOR CHRISTMAS is a collection of short stories told from the couples of the DARK SWORD/DARK WARRIORS series’ POV, during the preparations for the Winter Solstice. I like how we, the readers, got to reacquaint with our favorite, beloved characters again.

Truthfully, I have not read all the books and novellas in the two series. So, there are a few couples, and situations, I am unfamiliar with.

I like how each couple assimilates. They know peace is elusive and temporary, so they prepare for a possible threat in their own ways. It is also fun to see how each couple prepares for the holiday season.

Each short story is followed by a holiday recipe. There were some that sounded delicious, but nothing my family would like.

A WARRIOR FOR CHRISTMAS is a quick, holiday-themed read.

All I can say is WoW! My first book with Donna was Dangerous Highlander back in 2009 and I fell in love. I then proceeded to read all of her books to date, loving the Dark Sword/Warriors series. This book takes you back to the beginning with stories of each of those characters in her Dark Sword/Warrior series current lives and it was great. It is a montage of stories each ending with a great recipe for your pleasure. I’ll be going back to read those stores again since it has been a while and I will also be making some of the recipes this holiday season. These are short stories which you can read even if you have not read the books and I guarantee if you haven’t read the books, you will want to do so. Hope you enjoy as much as I did. Great job Donna Grant and thank you for such a great holiday book.

This shorter book is filled with warmth that will wrap around you with all the Christmas feels. If you have followed Grants novels from the Dark Sword days then you will surely be thrilled to get a glimpse back into the Warrior Castle and into these couples that touched us in their own stories seeming so long ago!!

Far more than just fiction snippets though, Ms Grant has interwoven recipes for adult beverages, appetizers, sweets and other goodies that make this novella leap out of pure fantasy and into your home so that you too can join the Warriors for Christmas!!

To be fair, if you have not read any of Ms Grant's Dark Sword series, you will be sorta lost but the recipes alone are more than enough reason to dive in, sit back, and get to know some wonderful characters who won't let you go until you learn all about them!!!

Series: Dark Warriors #10
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

This is a collection of short scenes featuring the couples of the Dark Swords and Dark Warriors series. This basically is all of them gathering at Castle MacLeod for a Christmas/ winter solstice celebration. I enjoyed seeing all them gather together and finally accept Dale into their group. Some of these couples have been together for over 100 years so it was kind of nice to see how strong their love still is, and their struggles with buying gifts for each other. Also, there are Christmas themed recipes in between each story which was a nice bonus.

Ms Grant's latest gift to us is a novella with a Christmas theme.
All theWarrior/Druid couples are meeting to celebrate the holiday together.

As each couple arrives 2 days prior they come to realize they will be on their own for the evening and we get to spend a little bit of time with them. We also get delightful Christmas recipes.

There is a new (but old) couple to join them. Unfortunately they fought on opposite sides at one point in time and it's time to welcome him home to the fold, peace for all.

All the couples meet for Christmas Eve dinner and it is a wonderful gathering! it was filled with peace and love and hope for the future!

It is a heartwarming story, perfect for the holiday!

A Warrior for Christmas is a visit with old friends. They’ve been hidden but not forgotten!

These stories provide a great time, to catch up on family affairs, looking back with a few of the Warrior couples and even planning of some future dreams with others. Even a new friendship is possible. But, best of all is merriment of their gift exchange, along with a bit of food and drink thrown in for good measure.

Spend some time this Holiday by catching up with the Warriors and what they do during the holiday season! BTW, try some of the included recipes. I think I am going to try the drink recipes first!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, my thoughts and opinions are my own.

We're back amongst the warriors and their Druid mates, from the Dark Sword/Dark Warriors series, just in time for a very contemporary Christmas/Yule.

This is a collection of 1st person POV short stories, one for each couple. They do reference things from their books and the wider Dark World Universe so the Reapers and the Dragon Kings all get a mention.

Each couple gets to reminisce and we get a glimpse at how their lives have changed in the intervening years. After each story there are recipes for festive starters, cookies and cocktails for you to try out.

Perfectly formed little vignettes into the Warrior/Druid world and the steamy frolics they get up to celebrating Yule!

I really enjoyed the sweet look into the continuing stories of the Warriors and the MacLeod Druids. This story really was a love letter to Donna’s readers, reminding us all why we love her so much as each couple shared sweet and sexy moments in preparation for the holidays. I admit that some of these couples were not my favorites when I read their novels back years ago, but it was still fun getting to experience their current relationships and seeing them interacting with those that are my favorite couples. I also enjoyed see how they come together and support one another during the holiday season. My favorite part of Donna’s stories is how each of her series intertwine in different ways and I am looking forward to seeing more of the warriors and the ladies in the new Skye Druids series she just launched. I laughed and loved right alongside these couples and really enjoyed the quirky recipes included as well, making this one of the more interesting and fun holidays novellas I’ve read recently. Can’t wait for more.

i love how friends can come together every yr. for Christmas. I love the extra bonuses included and i hope to use them. can the past corrupt feelings about the future toward a person? do bad deeds outweigh good deeds? people can change if they want to but what happens when people open their hearts? i loved how things can change when given a chance. if 1 person can change others can change to. the warriors get together for a happy day but it can get even better if people try to b more open to change. i loved it cause they can evolve with the times. read and find out about the bonuses and how wonderful things can be.
