I was there when it happened. When the walls of reality came crashing down upon us. When everything changed.
I was there. I watched it happen. There wasn’t anything I could do, of course. When two veritable demigods are fighting to the death, getting caught in between is a great way to end up very dead. Or worse.
That’s when it happened. Raw time crashed with pure paradox, and the universe itself screamed in torment. Night turned to day turned to yesterday and tomorrow and blue and yellow and whale and petunia, and then it snapped back, all at once, with a thunderous roar that was not heard but felt. And then I saw the blue box for the first time.

An apocalyptic event happens in a world of superheroes, like you would see in the comic books. What happens when the world changes, and heroes and villains are now bound by a System that limits their powers? What will change, and what will remain the same?
This story will incorporate Champions/HERO System 5th Edition rules. There will be dice rolls determining the action, and blue boxes with lots of crunchy numbers. If you're not down for that, there are plenty of other stories on this site that you'll like. But if that sounds fun to you, then welcome aboard, and I invite you to see what happens when someone becomes a System Supervillain.
I'm a rookie author, looking to write stories that I enjoy writing. Not gonna get awards, but honestly, I'm happy with each and every person that reads my work.
Stuart is a sci-fi and anime geek, who dabbles in tabletop and video gaming. He enjoys cosplaying and has gone to DragonCon annually since 2009. Frozen Soul is his first book.
It is a sad, sad day when you finally break down and realize that you will never have the life you wanted, never do the things you wished to do, and never see the things you wanted to see. All because of a stupid lack of lightsabers.
I was a 26 y/o college student at Armstrong Atlantic State University, as a theater major. Went to school for a while before, dropped out, tried to go back, dropped out.. Not much to say other than the fact that I'm a laid back guy, and the only drama I like is the kind that's on the stage.
If I act like an idiot, or do anything to offend you, chances are it is not intentional, and I'm being oblivious. In that case, hit me upside the head, and tell me, because I don't catch subtle hints.
I love Champions, I've been playing it for around 40 years. I've designed at least 100 characters. This MC is poorly designed, thrown together without direction. Let's go with an ice elemental mutant, with a bunch of magic and tech powers too, because I can't decide what I want him to be able to do. Bad design. Additionally the 'crunchy' stats were meh at best, simplifying the format would have made it better, or if various parts of the character sheet had been introduced slowly as the story developed instead of as an info dump. But I suppose that in a story this short there just wasn't enough time to nuance the delivery. Now onto the MC. It's a villain story so villainous is expected. But maybe not a serial rapist. Even a straight up psychotic murderer would have preferable. And what was the weird vibe with the sister, just ick. Just barely an honest 2 star book. I actually had to think hard about not giving it a single star. If I give a book a single star it means that the author should be fired from a canon into the sun. Just gross. Tom out
It started as a lit rpg, with a heavy leaning towards math and stats boxes. Ok, that’s fine. Then we find the protagonist has mental power. Still ok. The he mentally mind controls a “barely out of high school” flight attended and rapes her in the airplane bathroom. Aaaand we are done. Not interested in that kind of trash.
The problem for me is that the build of the protagonist to be a user of women is to dark for my limited standards. The take on Champions makes it interesting but for me, the main character is just too dark.
Honestly I enjoyed the story but you almost lost me with the massive amount of blue screen texts. And the dice rolls and the math... I skipped it all because it was too much. I'll read the next book but... I hope it's less blue screen and more story.
