From New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Nicole Edwards comes the eighth installment in her Brantley Walker: Off the Books series.
Recently engaged and moving forward, Brantley Walker and Reese Tavoularis are enjoying a bit of downtime with friends and family. But anyone in their line of work knows that sitting idle never lasts long.
When Reese’s brother, Z, asks for their assistance in finding a man who skipped bail and is now on the run from the law, as well as a few unsavory characters, the pair find themselves on a mission that’s a little outside of Reese’s comfort zone. No, make that way outside his comfort zone when he learns that the man they’re looking for is one of his mother’s former lovers.
As is usually the case, nothing is as it seems, and Brantley, Reese, and the rest of the Off the Books Task Force find themselves mixed up with the mob as they try to uncover the truth.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nicole Edwards spends her days stringing words together to make complete sentences. Sometimes not. Her best friend is coffee, and she has a love/hate relationship with sarcasm. She’s been accused of having a filthy imagination, which she admits is true.
Nicole lives in the suburbs of Austin, Texas. She proudly claims one husband, three grown children, and two bosses (better known as the dogs). When she isn’t writing, watching football or hockey, or keeping her bosses happy, you can probably find her with a book in hand.
I have been loving this series and I have to say that I am sooo grateful that this story was a bit lighter than the previous ones. I found myself laughing out loud so many times while reading BOUNTY I lost count. Poor Reese, I have a few gallons of bleach he can use but unfortunately I don't think it's safe to bleach your eyes and you cannot bleach your mind. But it sure did make for so many LOL moments whenever his mother was mentioned...and that is all I will say about that.
In this installment we have Brantley, Reese, and all of the guys and gals that work for Off the Books Task Force out looking for Toby Land, an old friend of Reese's parents who has found himself in a bit of trouble with the Mob. During this time we also have JJ meeting Baz's parents, and some other fun things are happening within the crew.
I would recommend reading this series in the order it has been released since it does follow each of the members of the Task Force and if you were to start now certain things wouldn't flow as nicely as they would if you had the backstory of some of the main people.
I would recommend this book/series to those that enjoy Steamy Romantic Suspense, MM Romances, or Office Romances.
This was book 8 in the "Brantley Walker: Off the Books" series. This was a really good read and a good addition to this series. Brantley and Reese are at home relaxing when they get a call from Reese's brother Z about finding someone. Turns out the person they are looking for is an old family friend Toby who had a relationship with his mother. Reese is also having problems with PTSD after being shot. Reese doesn't want to bring the team in but they have to as they are unable to find him. I liked that JJ and Baz are progressing nicely and have a baby on the way. I also liked that we are getting to know the other team members I really want to know more about Space and Evan and I really liked the bounty hunter. Toby kidnapped Reese's mother and he will do anything to get her back safely. I liked how JJ figured out Toby's secret. I also found it funny that they had to go to Max Adorite for help because they think Toby is mixed up with the mob. This book had some hot sex scenes in it I love the relationship between Brantley and Reese. I was really glad when Reese told him about what he was thinking and feeling when he got shot. I also liked that Brantley told Max off for leaving Reese to die and Reese finally to Max's sister Madison that he was marrying Brantley. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Bounty - Everything from laughter to overcoming your fears. Bounty has a little something for every Nicole Edwards fan. You'll see old characters and new come together for this fast paced, delightful story. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 's all the way! A must read!
Book 8 in the Off the Books series and it was such a good read. It was still as suspenseful as all the rest but there was a lighter side to it that will make you laugh. Reese and Brantley are finally able to have their relationship out in the open and be in a good place. It was so good to see them so happy and free and to get glimpses of other couples was fun to read as well. There will be a case of a missing boyfriend that they will have to navigate through and it was done so well. This was such a good read and you will get the love and all the smexy times but you will also laugh. This book was a joy to read and I can’t wait to read what she has coming up next.
Bounty is the 8th book in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books series by Nicole Edwards. This fast-paced read has swoon-worthy moments, humor, family secrets, mystery, plenty of sizzling heat, and love.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
I absolutely loved Bounty. It’s lighthearted at times and funny, poor Reese. It’s hot as hell. It also dips into the mafia area which I love. I highly recommend this book. As usual Nicole Edwards doesn’t disappoint!
As always Nicole Edwards draws me into the world of suspense, angst, PTSD, a lot of steam, the off the books team’s many relationships both romantic and non romantic and the beautiful romances between Brantley and Reese and JJ and Baz.
This book is more on the fun side this time and I love that the Off the Books team is growing more comfortable with each other but also that they are so different to each other. Their banter, joking and flirtation with each other causes some trouble throughout the book. I started to fall for Evan, his grumpy quiet demeanor and his pining for a colleague. I also love his background story and his reasons for being who he is now. I can’t wait to see what happens to him and I hope he gets his revenge.
The main plot is very interesting and fun and Reese’s reactions to the revelations of his mother’s and father’s sexlife is so funny and the others teasing him really made me laugh. He was cringing so bad lol!
The way Brantley loves and takes care of Reese and his PTSD is so swoon worthy and his protective side really comes forward when they have a meeting with Max Adorite the mafia boss of the Southern boy mafia. I love that Nicole Edwards always introduce us to other characters in her book realm and I am very intrigued to read The Southern boy mafia series now.
I can definitely recommend this book but I recommend that you read the series in order because of the way the romances has evolved and the history of the task force’s origin.
I can’t wait to read what happens next for my beautiful characters.
I got this book from Nicole Edwards. This is my honest opinion and my voluntary review.
The team are once again on the hunt but this time it’s a very different type of missing person case this time there is a bounty on the head of a missing man who is close to Reese’s heart. This difficult case means Brantley Walker need reinforcements and that means asking for help from Sniper One Security and Max Andorite from the Southern Boy Mafia series. Reese and Brantley have finally settled down and moved on with their life together, their love is out in the open and life is good but when they find themselves looking for Toby a former boyfriend of Reese’s mum pressure is once again added to the everyday life. This book has a very different feel to previous books in the Brantley Walker: Off the Books Series, it’s lighter with more humour and that’s what made it a very special read. It was wonderful catching up with the team from Brantley Walker as well as catch g up with favourite characters from other books and Ms Edwards did a wonderful job bringing it all together, a great read with the perfect mix of love, passion, humour and suspense.
This is definitely my favorite book in the Brantley Walker: Off the books series so far, if not one of my favorite Nicole Edwards books. I loved the interaction between the characters and there were definitely laugh out loud moments.
Brantley and team are on the case to find a former boyfriend of Reese and Z’s mom, and some family secrets definitely come to light, much to the amusement of all the other team members.
After the last few books in the series, it seems like Reese has finally accepted his relationship with Brantley, and it is wonderful to see their love out in the open and blossom. The past few books were so emotionally draining with the way Reese treated Brantley, but it seems like their relationship is finally in a good place.
Although the series is technically focused on Brantley and Reese, it would be nice to see more of the other team members and see and hear their stories play out. This book gives us minor glimpses of Slade, Evan and Becs, but I want to know more about their backstory and how their lives continue to progress.
This book made me want to beg for another Southern Boy Mafia book. Please give us Madison and Rock’s story!
I absolutely love Brantley and Reese. And I am really enjoying the Off the Books series.
Bounty’s first chapter had me laughing so much, I had tears rolling down my face. And the steamy heat between Brantley and Reese is sizzling!! Of course between Baz and JJ too.
Bounty is a much calmer pace at times but it doesn’t take away from the storyline. We still get some action and adventure with the case they’re working on. There’s a little insight into some of the members in the group, a few scenes with Max Adorite (Southern Boy Mafia), Baz’s parents, Reese’s mom and RT and Z in Dallas.
There’s a possibility of a new member, and we’re waiting on a wedding and of course a baby on the way. I wasn’t sitting on pins and needles this time, but the book was exciting in its own way. I really loved it. I can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
Another great installment to the Off the Books series! I have come to love all of these characters and cannot wait for more. Brantley and Reese are such complex characters, although you get to see a different side of them in this book. It makes me love them even more. But I have to say my attention is now focused on two newer characters, Deck and hopefully Atticus. Maybe not together, but their stories have got to be interesting! I cannot wait to see what the future has for all of these characters! Great read!!
This book is like a warm snuggly hug. It’s the book we’ve been waiting for after the last couple of traumatic reads in this series. Relationships are blooming, couples are getting on and moving forward with their lives and everyone seems to actually be communicating in a healthy way.
Reece and Brantley are in a really good place. There are still conversations that need to be had as Reece carries a lot of guilt about his actions but the love and acceptance he shows to Brantley is beautiful. No more living in shadows for these two.
The job their working on is lighter than some that have come before and brings some humour into the book. We’ve got some older characters popping up and Reece’s family spend abit of time on the pages. I really enjoy getting to know some of the other members of the team. They all add another dimension to the story and I like that it doesn’t distract too much away from our main couple.
The steam factor is high in this book so you will not be disappointed on that front. Lots of deeper, swoony moments from two of my favourite men and it really showcases how deep and meaningful their love for each other goes.
This is definitely a story I will read again, probably before the next instalment arrives as it’s that good. I highly recommend as always so do not hesitate in one clicking this book.
I really enjoy every new story with Brantley and Reese. There is so much chemistry and heat between them, but they also have so much love for each other. They have been through so much with Reese being shot and nearly dying, and then trying to come to terms with who he is. It was an emotional journey for them. The suspense and drama part of the story was very intriguing and kept me on the edge of my seat. Can’t wait for more!
Nicole, you did it again bringing a 5-star book. Brantley and Reese are working on their wedding and everything that happened before Reese was shot and after about 6 months worked his way back to Coyote Ridge and Brantley. Off the Books Task Force is asked to find a bounty which is not normally what they do but when they find out who the skip is the team sets out to find him and bring him back to face the consequences. To find out who the skip is and what the team finds out you need to grab the book. Excellent book and I would recommend it.
This series gets better and better with every book. I love these characters and getting to see where everyone is and how they are doing. This is Nicole's best series, so far. Brantley and Reese are my two favorite characters and I love the interactions between them. This book had a good amount of mystery to it, trying to figure who a certain person was, and I was a little shocked when they figured it out. I just love this series and look forward to the next one.
I came for the steam & stayed for the suspense! This whole series has been such a roller coaster with its ups & downs & twists & turns & with each book I get more invested in these characters. I’ve loved Reese from the beginning & this book gave so much depth to his character. I can’t wait to see where the next case takes us.
In an afterword from the author, she says of the Off the Books Task Force, “The team continues to morph and grow…” That is so true. There are now characters in this series I am fully invested in who weren’t even in the first book. This series is most definitely a continuation series, meaning these books are not meant to be read as standalone stories. There aren’t cliffhangers, each story is about a case or situation the task force is working on, and that part gets resolved in each book. But the story of the characters, their relationships, and their lives, is ever-growing and expanding. My emotions have had the highest highs and the lowest lows reading these books. As with my other reviews about the books in this series, there will not be spoilers for this particular book, but there may be spoilers about previous books in the series.
Although Reese and Brantley get a case to work on in this book, they try to keep it a bit on the down low due to the personal nature of the person they’re looking for. Plus, it’s not their usual bread and butter. They’re looking for an old family friend who jumped bail, hence the title of Bounty for this story. Of course, the rest of the task force gets roped in eventually, but that’s not how it starts. To be honest, this job, for most of the book, seems pretty low stakes. Instead, I found this story to be more about cementing the relationship between Brantley and Reese after everything they’ve been through. These two connect physically a LOT in this story. Not that I’m saying that’s a bad thing. As I said, I felt there was an element of showing how solid the couple is now.
With so many people added to the task force as of late, this story also serves to help us get to know everyone better. Who is crushing on who? Are feelings reciprocated? Is there any animosity in the group? I enjoyed getting to know a few more tidbits and seeing some of the friendships forming. There was also a lot of Baz and JJ in this book and it is so wonderful to see them together and happy and thriving.
There are residual issues Reese and Brantley need to deal with in regards to Reese getting shot, how it happened, and the fallout after the shooting. Some of those parts, when dealing with Max, seemed tedious at first. Then Brantley’s careful calm started to crack and I understood why the author was doing what she was doing.
As usual, I will anxiously await the next installment of this series. I am especially looking forward to seeing where things go for Evan. I’m hoping his backstory is their next case.
**I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the author. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely**
Bounty is the 8th book in the Brantley Walker: off the Books series and this book just makes you feel good all over; you will smile, laugh and need a fan for all the HOT scenes between Brantley and Reese.
This installment of Off the Books fines Brantley and Reese, and JJ and Baz in a really good place in all their lives. Brantley and Reese are finally on solid ground with their relationship, both sharing with one another their true feelings and fears thus far; and planning (or more like their Moms and JJ) for their upcoming wedding. JJ and Baz continue to grow their relationship, which includes JJ meeting Baz’s family, who seem quite interesting themselves. Both couples are in Love and this book does a wonderful job in showing that throughout the book.
Of course there is a new case to solve for task force, this is a little different than the past cases the team has worked and will bring Reese’s family to the front and center. There is some fun and interesting things reveled about Reese’s parents, things Reese just doesn’t want to hear about his parents…lol. We get a little deeper in the lives of some of the members of the teams and we get some guest appearances from Z and RT, as well as Max Adrotie and family. Also, watch out, could there be a new member coming to the task force, I sure hope so, as they sound like they could be a really fun addition…we’ll stay tuned.
All, in all Bounty is a book I think we all needed in this series, it is lighthearted and allows us to be happy and laugh and smile with these characters we have come to love. Life is good for all right now and this installment takes us along for the “joy” ride. I love this book at this point in the series, I enjoyed every page and Nicole never disappoints with the level of hotness this book brings. Five smiling stars for Bounty!!
**I was given this ARC of Bounty for an honest review**
Brantley Walker is back with his team in their next book, Bounty. Nicole Edwards has delivered a refreshing read for all the characters that we love in this series. For me, this story was one to bring everyone together in a team building sort of way after the events of the previous couple of books. We have relationship building, bonding, and affirmations that help some deepen their feelings. There are also insights into some of the newer team members that I hope we get to see more of and develop more of their characters as the series continues.
Brantley and Reese are at a wonderful moment in their relationship. After the life changing events that previously occurred this book was much needed to affirm their feelings for each other with each other and their friends and family. There is still much to work on for these two but I feel they are in good place and very much ready for their future together.
JJ and Baz are happy. And this makes me happy to see and read. They have been through the ringer and back over the course of their relationship and for them to be a good place is so refreshing.
The entire team is working well together and I can't wait to learn more about each and every one of them because they all have a story to tell that I am sure will by eye opening.
The team always finds themselves involved in the craziest of cases and this latest one is no exception. The link to Reese's mom, his brother and his office, and even the mob connections, keep the team on their toes trying to bring the case to a conclusion. Ms. Edwards does a great job rolling a suspenseful story together with all of the sexy times to deliver a read that flows so smoothly and quickly. I can't wait for more from Brantley, Reese and the rest of the team.
Bounty Brantley Walker: Off the Books, #8 by Nicole Edwards Narrated by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel
I cannot get enough of this ensemble of characters. Each book has me more invested in their lives and the stories are fantastic! Nicole Edwards kept me on edge with this romantic suspense! Brantley and Reese have been asked by Reese's brother Z to help with a bounty hunt. But it becomes personal for Reese when he finds out just who they are hunting! A man who was previously involved with his mom, and now could have put her in danger as well. JJ and Baz are enjoying their deepening relationship, but it's not keeping them from delving into help! And don't forget Tesha! I think this dog is one of my favorite characters in the series! So lovable and loyal! Fast paced, exciting, passionate and loving, this installment let me into the worlds of these two couples that found their place in my heart.
Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are these characters. Their continued narration of this series is one of the best parts for me. Thom is phenomenal as the men. Each consistent from book to book, he has dialed into their emotional hearts, kept each one real and their personalities spot on. Ongel is all the women, but her portrayal of JJ is one of my favorite of all the characters she has played. Spunky yet vulnerable, I love her sass and genuineness. This duet narration enhancing Bounty and should not be missed.
I love reading this series. Over time I am becoming attached to more of the series’ characters and I’m becoming convinced there is something in the water with the task force. Romance is in the air for even more of the cast of characters in each episode. This was a much more lighthearted book than some of the most recent stories. Our primary cast members were growing as people and in their relationships. Their case was somewhat whimsical and took some unexpected turns. So far there hasn’t been a single book that I didn’t like. I get more hooked every time! If you haven’t read this series before you need to start at the beginning to understand it all. This is definitely not a series of connected stand-alone books. The books are easy to read as well as extremely well plotted and written. I highly recommend anything written by this author, with the caution that her books are very sexy and non-traditional. If you are uncomfortable with relationships outside the boundary of a traditional MF relationship then these books are not for you as they include MM, MF, MMF, and FF all within one series of books. I am voluntarily submitting this review after reading an advanced complementary copy.
This is more than just about Brantley & Reese re-cementing their relationship. Nicole doesn’t disappoint in her storytelling. All the OTB team are present. We still delve into their lives which hopefully will extend to their stories. Back to Reese and Brantley, questions are still revolving around Reese and his accident. A hurdle he needs to overcome. Brantley’s love for Reese is cemented firmly, yet obstacles are always present, but will be overcome. A new task is presented that takes the whole team back to where Reese was shot, involvement of Max Adorite, S1S, Cindy Tavoularis and more. A whirlwind of excitement, bonding, new additions, new paths being presented and yes heartfelt love for one another. There will still be questions that need resolving, so naturally we will want more. What Nicole doesn’t hold back on is her sexual scenes. Steamy, erotic, emotional 🔥🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥beautiful. Where to? There were a few hints for me in the story and I hope Nicole will elaborate. I question on Evan, love brutally taken away from him. Will this be the next read along with the continuation of Brantley/ Reese & Baz/JJ? Awaiting for next instalment.
The continuing drama of Brantley and the task force is wonderful. This book continues with Brantley and Reese's relationship and dealing with the fallout of Reese's guilt and flashbacks of his shooting. They are dealing well with this and Brantley is reassuring Reese of his continued love and forgiveness for him. JJ and Baz are moving on to the next phase of their relationship. JJ finally meets Baz's parents and is ready to commit fully to Baz.
The rest of the members of the task force are getting settled and comfortable with each other and the drama of working with new coworkers and gelling together as a team and becoming a family. New drama and interests develop.
Their new case is very sensitive and not what they usually do. Find Toby Land, a friend of Reese's family, who jumped bail and is now wanted. The situation isn't all it seems and gets more murky the deeper they investigate his whereabouts. The story takes some twists but overall ended well. This book was pretty fast paced and cohesive.
I can't wait for the next installment.
I received an advanced copy from bookfunnel for my honest opinion.
I absolutely love this series, and each book only gets better and better. Wow! I don't think I will ever get enough of Brantley, Reese and the entire Off the Books Task Force.
Bounty picks up right where Confessions left off with Brantley and Reese working on the plans for their Big Day when Reese receives a call from his big brother Z asking for his help to find a missing person who is in trouble with the police. This assignment is not their typical assignment, since they are not bounty hunters, but, once it is found out who the missing person is, Reese relunctantly agrees to take the job. And so the rollercoaster of a ride to find this missing person before others do thanks to the bounty that has been placed on his head begins.
Out of all of the Off the Books books that have been written this one is the most lighthearted. It is an extremely fun read. It was great catching up with the Task Force, meeting more Walkers, and some very special new characters. Oh, and please, can we have more Magnus and Trey next time? Anyway, grab this book, it is an excellent read. Another great read by Nicole Edwards.
How is it possible to think that a series I already feel is the best, gets even better? Once again we are following Brantley and Reese. They have been through so much already, and it’s good to see that their relationship throughout the book is strong and they are so much in love. I guess maybe the next book we get to see the wedding. It certainly was a page turner, and it was exciting to learn more about Reese’s family. Oh my goodness do I love his mother. This book was so exciting, and there was so much steam it’s going to make your face a little red. A few characters were brought in that we had not heard from in a while from other series which was fun, and also JJ and Baz were around a lot. It’ll be exciting when their are a little edition shows up. Once again the writing was fantastic. All the pieces fit together, and I’m excited to read more about their group of friends and family and coworkers. The “case“ was closed out at the end of the story but there’s so much more excitement to come. Congratulations Nicole Edwards on another outstanding book.
Bounty is the 8th book in the Off the Books task force series and it was a little different than the others. The case should not have been as stressful, but things never work out the way we want them to. I love the fat that this was a lighter story and had more funny moments in it. We still get to see Brantley and Reese along with the whole task for while they try and find someone. This someone is from Reese’s parents past and just thinking about it makes him cringe. Be honest who hasn’t cringed when thinking about their parents and sex. It was great to see some old friends from other series along for the ride. While this case was a little different than usual what was not different was the heat between the couples Brantley & Reese along with JJ & Baz are still smoking hot and oh so sweet at the same time. The glimpses we got into how Brantley & Reese feel about each other and what they were thinking after everything that happened the last time they were in Dallas are some of my favorite parts of this story. I absolutely love them together.
Yet another installment for the Off the Books Task Force and as always it doesn't disappoint. This is a light hearted read compared to the other books in this series, and it might be the book that you can read without reading the entire series. Bounty sees Brantley, Reese and the rest of the Off the Books task force tackling a truly different case than they normally do. It is a case that in a way is a favor to Reese's brother Z. Z has tasked Reese and Brantley with finding a missing person, once Reese finds out who the missing person he is very reluctant to take the case but finally agrees. It is a race against time between the task force and all the people hunting this missing person due to the huge "bounty" placed on his head. In true off the books style Brantley and the crew is able to find the missing person and complete the task for Z. We also got to catch up with some old characters and meet some new characters. Definitely a recommend read for anyone interested in a light hearted story. As always another great read and great book from Nicole.
5 Star Review Bounty (Brantley Walker: Off The Books #8) by Nicole Edwards This series keeps getting better and better. In fact this one may be my favourite to date. This book was not as traumatic to read as the previous couple and was a fantastic addition to the series. From the first chapter to the last I was on the edge of my seat reading and as I have come to expect from Ms.Edwards there was humour and plenty of heat.,
Brantley and Reese are back on track, engaged and secure in their relationship after some pretty turbulent times. When Reese’s brother Z asks for their help in tracking down a man who has skipped bail they agree. Sniper One and Mafia kingpin Max Adorite being involved just added to my enjoyment.
Bounty is not as intense as previous books, there was more humour but the balance of steam, romance and suspense was well balance and entertaining.. As the other members of the team become involved they also find themselves working with the Mafia and it was great to see their familiar faces.
There were a number of twists and turns which had me invested from the start. Bounty was a fast paced, well written story that ticked all the boxes for me.
This series just keeps getting better and better. I love the how each story; from Reese & Brantely, JJ & Baz, to the possibe new relationship among the team are being developed. While each book is about Brantley & Reese, incluing these other stories just enhances their own. I also love how Nicole includes other characters in the book. For example bowling night with Sawyer, Kaleb, Reese, Brantley and a bunch of other characters from previous book. Its like old home week! This book has just about everything you could want... it's funny (Reese finding out this is mom is an adult & has a sex life), love & hesitation (JJ meeting Baz's parents for the first time), hot sex ( Reese & Brantley), & potential relationships.
I am really looking forward to Nicole continuting this series and seeing how she develops each story! I always feel like a kid in a candy store when I get my hands on a new book from Nicole. Thank you, Nicole!
*4 stars* This is the 8th book in this series and always has something different going on in the story but with the same characters although surrounding the couple Brantley and Reese but it's always a new adventure. Really enjoyed the characters but also the suspenseful storyline, not knowing which way it was going to go but glad I got the answers I was searching for in the end. Can't wait for the next adventure!
As Reese's brother comes to him and Brantley with a new case, he'd never imagined it would be one of his mother's acquaintances they're looking for as he's got a bounty on his head, the case seems to be rather urgent. As no one seems to be none the wiser, they're trying to figure out where Toby is but it's not easy and they're forced to bring in more of their team. When danger comes closer than they expect, it actually might lead them to a break in the case. Will they find the truth in the end?...
